v3-tour is a lightweight, simple and customizable tour plugin for use with Vue.js. It provides a quick and easy way to guide your users through your application.

Table of Contents

Getting started, something missing.

You can install v3-tour using npm or by downloading the minified build on GitHub.

Then import the plugin in your application entry point (typically main.js if you used vue-cli to scaffold your project) and tell Vue to use it. Also don't forget to include the styles. You can add the styles provided by default or customize them to your own liking.

Finally put a v-tour component in your template anywhere in your app (usually in App.vue) and pass it an array of steps. The target property of each step can target a DOM element in any component of your app (as long as it exists in the DOM when the concerned step pops up).

For all individual elements you want to add a step on, make sure it can be retrieved with document.querySelector() . You can use any selector, an ID, a CSS class, data attributes, etc. Once this is done and your steps correctly target some DOM elements of your application, you can start the tour by calling the following method.

For a more detailed documentation, checkout the docs for vue-tour .

before() UI step functions

If you need to do UI setup work before a step, there's a before function you may include in any/each of your steps. This function will get invoked before the start/next/previous step is rendered. The function must return a promise. The function is invoked when start , nextStep , and previousStep are triggered. When the promise is rejected, it will not move to the next or previous step. If the promise is resolved then it will move in the direction specified.

It's used when you need to change what's shown on the screen between steps. For example, you may want to hide one set of menus and open a screen or you want to perform an async operation. This is especially useful in single-page applications.

Bushnell Tour V3 JOLT review

Golf Monthly Senior Staff Writer Paul O'Hagan tests the Bushnell Tour V3 JOLT rangefinder

v3 tour

GM verdict: The Tour v2 was an outstanding product that remains an essential piece of kit for many players. Wisely, the new v3 uses similar styling and ergonomics, so that it still feels great in the hand. New JOLT technology is fantastic for reinforcing when you have found the closest target to you (normally the pin), and helps to speed up the process. This is a fine addition to the Bushnell line.But... although the holding pouch offers good protection, it isn't quite as user-friendly as the one on the Tour v2 model.PGA pro verdict:An excellent rangefinder that?s easy to operate and fits beautifully into the hand. I really liked the JOLT facility, which gives the user a small vibration through the unit when it locks on to the flag. It gives very fast readings and was a joy to use. The unit has a very striking design, and I?d recommend it to any golfer. Importantly, it's also waterproof. A top product.Test team rating:Performance: 5/5Visual appeal: 5/5Innovation: 5/5Value: 5/5Overall: 4.5/5

The addition of JOLT technology on the new Bushnell products is outstanding and offers reassurance that you have found the yardage to the flag. As with previous Tour V models this unit fits very comfortably in the hand and is excellent at picking up the intended target. It is undoubtedly a very solid all-round performer and it’s still easy to see why we have given special mentions in previous tests. Another impressive offering from a fantastic laser brand.

If you can afford to pay the extra money, the Tour Z6 model offers all of this and more in a compact package. The white colour means it can get grubby quicker than some of the other models in the Bushnell range.

The Golf Monthly team brings you its Bushnell Tour V3 JOLT review, revealing all you need to know about this golf GPS device

Key technology: Bushnell Tour V3 JOLT review

Bushnell family of rangefinders incorporates new JOLT technology, which means the unit vibrates when the nearest object (usually the flag) is located. The Tour V3 model magnifies by five and can pick yardages up to 1,000 yards away and can pick up a flag from 300 yards and in. A newly designed unit, it should improve the fit and feel in the hand, and is also waterproof.

Bushnell Tour V3 Review

Full Bushnell Tour V3 Review

Bushnell is a well-regarded maker of high-end optics used for a variety of sporting purposes. The Bushnell Tour V3 rangefinder adds to the brand’s positive appeal with a truly versatile and effective golf rangefinder. The Tour V3 is the successor to the very popular Bushnell V2 and promises to improve upon an already highly regarded golf rangefinder that is accessibly priced but not cheap in any way.

Bushnell Tour V3 Rangefinder Review

General Overview

The Bushnell Tour V3 offers an exceptional 1,000-yard range that fully covers just about any reasonable distances measurement a golfer could use. It is accurate to within 10 yards at up to 1,000 yards, which is plenty good for sending the ball where you need it to go. When you are within 300 yards, accuracy improves to within a half a yard or meter of the target.

The viewfinder gives you 5X magnification so that you can get a very clear view of any hazards, traps, trees or other obstacles by looking through a large 24 mm objective lens. An included scan mode gives you a continuously updated distance reading to various objects on the hole and presents the information on an LCD display.

You can use a scan mode to quickly view the golf hole that you are about to play and get various distance readings to the tree line, water hazards, sand traps and other objects that might interfere with your par-or-better score. That makes it possible to set up a much better approach shot to the green without slowing down overall play. The lower your score, the faster your round goes, too.

Build Quality and Dimensions

The Bushnell Tour V3 improves upon the prior generation V2 with a lighter and more svelte design that better fits your hand while putting the rangefinder power at your fingertips. The rangefinder measures 2.8 inches tall by 4.2 inches long by about 1.6 inches wide and weights just 6.7 ounces.

Use is exceptionally simple with a single button located on top of the rangefinder enabling you to cycle through user modes. Its light and ergonomic design makes it a perfect companion for a round of golf on a hot a humid summer day. A polymer body and waterproof build help it to work even on a cold and misty morning on the golf course or at the driving range.

  • Quick scanning and 5X magnification with large viewing optic.
  • Comfortable ergonomic design.
  • Long battery life.
  • Waterproof body.
  • Slope Edition measures angles to within 1 degree of accuracy.
  • Accuracy within a yard not as exact as competing brands.
  • Does not use a rechargeable battery.
  • No slope compensation on the standard V3.

PinSeeker and JOLT Technologies Ensure Accuracy

The best golf rangefinders include a feature that ignores other objects to quickly lock in on the flag and pin so that you get a quick and accurate distance reading to the hole. The Bushnell Tour V3 does to, too, with its PinSeeker technology that locks in on the flag and gives you the correct distance to the hole instead of a background object.

The JOLT technology is just a fancy way of saying the V3 gives you a gentle but noticeable vibration when the rangefinder locks onto the pin. The vibration helps you to know you are getting the correct reading without having to overthink what is going on and instead can concentrate of choosing the proper club and swing to get the ball to where you need it to go.

The JOLT technology is an improvement over the Bushnell Tour V2 model and helps to affirm the new edition of the Bushnell’s Tour rangefinder series continues to improve upon an already very popular golf rangefinder that does just about everything as well as you could hope.

Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition Technology

The Bushnell Tour V3 Slope Edition gives you the angle reading to the hole and tells you the effective distance after analyzing the slope change. When a rangefinder gives you a straight distance to the hole it does not bother with any change in elevation. The slope technology in the V3 gives you the slope reading to within 1 degree of accuracy and then compensates for the elevation change to tell you what the effective distance is to the hole.

If you are working on an approach shot to the green the playing surface either rises or fall, it will have a very telling effect on your golf shot. When the terrain rises to a slightly higher elevation, the Tour V3 tells you what the elevation of incline or decline is and then gives you the compensating information so that you know how far the ball needs to travel to get to the green .

It is important to note that if you want the slope-compensating technology in the V3, you must buy the V3 Slope Edition. The standard Tour V3 does not include it because the slope compensation is banned in organized tournament play. Most rangefinders that offer the slope compensation enable you to turn it off to make it legal for play. The V3 Slope Edition does so as well, but those who do not want to worry about it can just opt for the standard Bushnell Tour V3 and save some money.

Affordable and Accessible Bushnell Tour V3 Battery

The Bushnell Tour V3 battery is a standard CR2 type commonly found in retail stores around the globe. The battery provides substantial power that users say will power up the rangefinder for about a year, depending on how often you go to the range or play rounds of golf. The included Bushnell Tour V3 battery power indicator tells you when you have plenty of power on tap or the battery is getting weak and needs a replacement.

The batteries generally are sold in packs of two, so it is easy to obtain and keep a fresh spare just in case. It the one in use suddenly shows it is weak and you are unsure it will last the entire round of golf or your trip to the range, you can put in the new one in just a few seconds and continue as intended.

Should You Buy One?

The Bushnell Tour V3 is a definite improvement in design and function over the prior V2 model that many golfers considered to be the best of the Bushnell line. The V3 and the optional V3 Slope Edition rangefinders are great tools to make any golfer’s game better and a generally good value.

Bushnell Tour V3 vs V4 vs v5 – How Do They Compare & Which To Buy

Bushnell golf app, waterproofing, ease of use, lock-on and speed, bushnell tour v3, specifications:, bushnell tour v4, specification, bushnell tour v5.

In this article, we’ll compare the last 3 versions of the rangefinder and indicate the progress that the brand has made with each release.

Bushnell discontinued the Tour V3 and replaced it with the Tour V4, but you can still find some Bushnell V3 Tour rangefinders available for sale hence the inclusion into the comparison.

The dimensions, speed, and accuracy have changed over the years and new technology included in the Bushnell rangefinders has evolved. The most notable changes throughout the ranges include Stabi-Grip technology, PinSeeker™ technology, JOLT™ which grew into Visual JOLT, changes in the clarity of the view, and BITE Magnetic Mount.

Concerns that were raised on the Bushnell V3 Tour were addressed with the release of the V4 especially related to the accuracy of locking in on the target. Advances on the Bushnell TOUR V4 allows you to lock onto the flag quickly without being affected by the background trees and other moving objects. This allows the golfer to easily and quickly “zero” in on the flag without acquiring background targets.

The latest in the range is the Bushnell® Tour V5 with advanced digital technology and turbo processors. Technology advances to the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder include the Visual JOLT that will vibrate and have a red ring that flashes when locked onto the target. The BITE magnetic technology enables you to mount the rangefinder onto a cart.

Slope calculation technology is available on some specialized models in the Tour V3, Tour V4, and Tour V5 ranges.

Areas that have stayed the same since the release of the Bushell Tour V3 rangefinder is described below. We will go into more detail on the improvements made on every model later in this piece.

All Bushnell Tour models come standard with the app that provides access to vital information such as distances, hole layouts, and 3D flyovers powered by the latest additions and updates.

The Bushnell range of Tour rangefinders is not waterproof, and it would not be recommended that you drop it into a pool of water. The battery compartment protects the battery via the Posi-Thread battery door protecting it against occasional splash of rain. For durability it is recommended to dry it as soon as possible after contact with water.

A rechargeable CR2 battery is standard on the Bushnell Tour range of rangefinders that requires to be removed from the plastic cover before the first use. Replacement of the battery every 6 months is recommended by Bushnell.

The Bushnell Tour rangefinders are available in a red/black/gray or red/black/white color scheme and improvements have been made to the ergonomics of the unit to fit more precisely into your hand during use.

Using a Bushnell Tour rangefinder is a simple and straightforward experience. Everything works accurately and the process to start it up happens swiftly by pushing the only button on the rangefinder.

The Bushnell Tour V3 recorded some of the quickest times locking onto multiple targets even though the PinSeeker mode is always on. You can obtain distances by panning across a range of targets and waiting for the distances to appear without having to re-fire the laser for every target.

Rather than panning across several targets and getting distance readings for every target, the distances are returned quicker by firing at every target individually.

TOUR Bushnell V4 comfortably fits into the palm of your hand and does not depend on reflectors to determine distances. It will provide distances to any object such as bunkers, trees, any selected target.

Even though it is more accurate locking onto a target there is no deterioration in the speed in comparison with the Bushnell Tour V3 range finder.

The Bushnell Advanced Digital microprocessor and ASIC chip (Application-Specific Integrated Circuit) returns accurate readings instantaneously without fail.

This is achieved through the sophisticated digital technology that instantaneously calculates distances by measuring the time from emitting the invisible, eye-safe, infrared energy pulse until it returns to the rangefinder after contact with the target. This makes the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder one of the fastest rangefinders available.

  • PinSeeker technology enables you to search for a target and once locked in on a target it will display a circle around the target. The terminology of PinSeeker is slightly misleading as it can be used to lock onto any target that you desire and not only the pin on a golf course.
  • JOLT Technology provides feedback to the rangefinder when you are locked onto a target creating short vibrations. JOLT technology can be turned off if you do not appreciate the technology or find that it distracts you. The PinSeeker technology will still provide sufficient information when locked onto a target.
  • Bushnell combined the technologies to provide the most accurate visual and sensory feedback to indicate to the golfer that the target has been located and locked onto.
  • There is no specific Scan mode on the Bushnell Tour rangefinders, but you can scan across the field of view and it will provide distances when you stall at some obstacles. The alternative is to re-fire the laser for quick reading.

The Tour V3 rangefinder from Bushnell makes use of 5X magnification of objects for easy selection of the desired target. Multi-coated optics enables the V3 Tour to measure distances up to 1000 yard accurately and swiftly. Locking onto the flag from within 400 yards is simple and you will find that it is accurate to +/- 1 yards of the flag.

The ranging accuracy of the Tour V3, Tour V4, and Tour V5 is +/- 1 yard under most circumstances. The maximum range depends on the reflectivity of the target but has improved from 1000 yards on the Tour V3 up to 1300 yards on the Tour V5. The optimum distance for most objects is 700 yards and highly reflective objects it is 1000 yards

The addition of the JOLT technology has ensured that there is no guessing required when locking onto a target. Once locked onto the target the vibrations will notify you that the target is acquired, and you will know that the reading is within 1 yard of the actual distance.

There were some concerns expressed with the Tour V3 that it picked up targets behind the green such as trees thus providing inaccurate readings. This could be rectified by taking a second reading. The Tour V4 and Tour V5 have become more accurate in the acquisition of our required target and there is less misreading presented.

Bushnell Tour V4 JOLT Golf Laser Rangefinder, Standard Version

  • Addition of Fast Focus System for enhanced clarity and accuracy
  • Active Laser provides crosshairs around the aiming circle
  • Bushnell golf app for useful information
  • UNIT OF MEASURE selection
  • MODE selection
  • There was no improvement on the 5X magnification
  • LCD with black dots
  • Extra Long Eye Relief 17mm
  • Exit Pupil 0 mm
  • Field of view 420 feet @ 1000 yards
  • Objective Diameter 20 mm
  • Optical Coatings Multi-Coated
  • Warranty 2-year limited warranty

In addition to the technology that Bushell provided in the Tour V3 rangefinder the following technology was incorporated into the Tour V4 rangefinder. When turning the device on it will default to the last settings that were active before turning it off.

  • Fast Focus System enables golfers to adjust the optic focus for enhanced clarity and accuracy.
  • Active Laser provides crosshairs around the aiming circle to indicate when the transmission of the laser beam is in progress. Once locked onto a target you can release the button and the crosshairs will disappear indicating that the transmission of the laser beam stopped.
  • Bushnell golf app provides useful information such as the layout of the hole you are playing through a 3D flyover and the distances to several targets or obstructions. Updating the app is straightforward and it can be downloaded whenever you have access to the internet. This download will provide updates to any course that is loaded on the app.
  • UNIT OF MEASURE options was added enabling you to display measurements in yards or meters to accommodate the unit of measure in place on the course that you are playing. The selected unit of measure will be illuminated on the LCD screen.
  • MOD E can be selected when you are using a V4 model with a slope indication. You can either switch it on or off. Slope calculations are not legal in competitions.

The Tour V4 uses the same 5X magnification and multi-coated optics as the Tour V3 model.

The optical system comprises a liquid crystal display (LCD) installed within and when it is initiated a reticle will be presented assisting you to choose the target, Unit of Measure, and mode indicators.

The manufacturing process of the LCD creates small black spots in the optical system, and it cannot be removed from the display thus affecting the clarity, but not the accuracy, of the display.

You can adjust the Eyepiece on the Tour V4 by +/- 3 Diopter allowing you to focus the LCD relative to the image. To get both the reticle and object in focus all you have to do is rotate the eyepiece until they are in focus

Variations between the Tour V4 and the V3 optics.

In addition to the optics on the V3 the following is available on the v4.

  • Objective Lens Diameter 21mm
  • Exit Pupil 8mm
  • Extra Long Eye Relief 21mm
  • Range 5-1000 yards
  • Ranging Accuracy +/- 1 yard
  • Field of View 368 feet @1000 yards

The accuracy of the reading is still within 1 yard and the maximum range for target acquisition is still dependent on the reflectiveness of the surfaces that you are targeting. Brighter surfaces can be targeted from up to 1000 yards as the object becomes less bright the target acquisition distance will decrease. Lighting conditions will also play a major role in the target acquisition distance. The maximum distance will only be achieved on a bright sunny day to bright and reflective targets.

  • Enhanced clarity in the display making target acquisition easy

  • Visual JOLT indicator for visual and sensory feedback

  • Dimensions Length: 4.5 Inches long X 1.5 inches wide X 3.0 inches high
  • Extra Long Eye Relief 16 mm
  • Exit Pupil 5 mm
  • Field of view 330 feet @ 1000 yards
  • Magnification 6X
  • Objective Diameter 24 mm
  • Range: 5-1300 Yards
  • Weight 0 ounces

Several new technologies came with the release of the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder.

Bite Magnetic Car Mount

There is a powerful magnet installed on the right-hand side of the housing of the Tour V5 for easy locking it onto the frame of the cart. The optimum temperature for locking it onto a cart is below 175 degrees Fahrenheit.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – The Neodymium magnet could affect the functioning of pacemakers and implanted heart defibrillators thus should be kept away from people that could be affected.

Pinseeker with Visual JOLT

When locking onto a target with the V3 and V4 rangefinders feedback was provided via short vibrations. The release of the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder took the technology to a new level by adding a visual indicator in the form of a flashing red ring around the outer edge of the display when the target is acquired.

Many advances have been made on the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder to enhance the clarity, magnification, and color. The range has increased without any loss in accuracy which remains at +/- 1 yard.

  • Exit Pupil 4mm
  • Extra Long Eye Relief 16mm
  • Range 5-1,300 yards
  • Field of View 330ft@1000 yards

The following display indicators have been added to the V5 model

  • Aiming circle (surrounding crosshairs indicate laser transmission)
  • Battery level indicator
  • Line of sight distance
  • Visual JOLT indicator ring

The battery Indicator indicates the following power levels:

  • Full charge and approximately 1/3 or 2/3 battery life remaining
  • When the battery indicator blinks it is time to replace the battery for continuous operation.

An improved function on the Tour V5 is the adjustable fast focus eyepiece that has an increase to +/- 3.5 Diopter adjustment.

Advances in technology have enabled Bushnell to increase the maximum range of the Tour V5 to 1300 yards in perfect conditions while the accuracy remains within 1 yard of the target. Acquiring the distance to the flag increased form 400 yards in the Tour V4 up to 400 yards in the Tour V5.

Magnification increased from 5X to 6X in the Tour V5 aiding in the accuracy of target acquisition. The enhanced clarity makes it easier to identify the target and thus enhancing accuracy.

Bushnell has been manufacturing rangefinders for years and keeps improving on the technology and it remains a favorite with golfers across the world.

We discussed the Tour v3, our V4, and Tour V5 rangefinders in this piece. The discussion relates to the standard models and not the slope reading models. Slope models enable you to acquire distances to the target considering the slope. This is not allowed in competitions.

PinSeeker technology has been part of the Bushnell technology and was enhanced by the inclusion of the JOLT technology in the Tour V3. You can aim, the charge of the laser, and feel the jolt when locked onto the target.

This improved the accuracy as you can now feel when you are locked onto the target and did not have to rely on the circle around the target when it is acquired. It may slow down your round slightly as it takes a little time to send the vibrations back to your hand. The increased accuracy is worth the extra time.

Ergonomically the Tour V3 remained with the original Tour design and fits comfortably into your hand and it is easy to operate.

Moving on to the Tour V4 brought a few enhancements such as the Fast Focus System, Active laser, Golf app , Unit of Measure, and Mode. The clarity of the LCD improved, and the accuracy remained steadfast.

The release of the Bushnell Tour V5 rangefinder put the brand onto a new level. The technology enhances the JOLT technology to provide visual feedback as well as sensory feedback when a target is acquired. The distance of target acquisition increased from a maximum of 1000 yards to 1300 yards. BITE technology now enables you to lock the rangefinder to the frame of the cart making it easy to find when required. The increase of magnification from 5X to 6X together with the increase in clarity of the LCD aids in the identification of targets.

The price of the range of Bushnell Tour rangefinders has increased with every new release related to the technology improvements but it remains extremely competitive within the category that it competes in. The value that it provides makes it worth the money that you pay for it.

In our opinion the technology enhancements have kept the Bushnell Tour rangefinders at the top of the competition, and it will remain a favorite with all golfers including professional golfers for a long time to come.

Don’t get panic.

We are presenting you with a comprehensive Bushnell Tour V3 Review so that you can purchase it without any doubt.

As discussed earlier, The Bushnell tour v3 is the latest version of v2 with optimum technology but budget-friendly. It is almost $100 less in price than v2 . None of the other rangefinders can beat this in terms of price, range finding, speed, and accuracy. We found it the least expensive , even in all laser devices tested. It will give you quick reading without getting verification, which is another fantastic feature.

We can not describe its features in a single or two paragraphs. Let’s discuss each feature in detail.

The accuracy provided by the Bushnell tour v3 is highly acceptable. It can measure short distances of 1 yard and long distances of 1000 yards very accurately. It gives worth to your money and gives incredible accuracy for measuring any distance, even hazards, water, and sand traps.

A decent measuring unit with consistent results comes to an end here. Bushnell itself takes 40 readings and not found a minor missed flag of 1 yard.

The outer shell of Bushnell tour v3 is made with a white plastic body with black accents. It is purely a plastic made product and does not use any metal anywhere. After using it, you can store it in the carry case that can be clipped with your golf bag for quick access.

The case can be opened up to 35 degrees. It also protects your laser rangefinder v3 by moving your golf bags. After reading the Bushnell tour v3 review, it seems to be the most durable GPS rangefinder on the golf course. Bushnell v3 tour Jolt is a water resistance rangefinder, so it is easy to use in the rainy season. It comes with a 1-year money-back warranty.

If we talk about budget, then you find this product the most budget-friendly. The expected range is $199 to $249. A product with so many features at the least price is rarely to find in the market.

Definitely, it is a budget device with brilliant features.

Size and Weight

The Bushnell tour v2 is 8 x 4 x 6 inches, and the weight is 1.15 pounds. So, it is convenient and easy to carry a GPS rangefinder.

Battery Life

Bushnell Tour V3 has a durable and much improved long-lasting battery. You never regent on your decision of choosing it based on battery life. There is a single CR 2-3-volt lithium battery inside it.

You can aspect a 20-hour battery lasting when Jolt technology is turned on. So it can easily be increasing by deactivating the Jolt technology. Bushnell itself recommended changing the battery every year.

Easy To Use

Bushnell tour V3 is easy to use golf rangefinder with a colorful screen that shows reading very clearly. If you are a beginner and have never used this rangefinder before, You might face some operator error, but after a couple of trying, you will be happy to get the ideal rangefinder. It needs a firm adjustment of the =/-2 diopter eyepiece. It can easily be adjusted by picking one hand and adjusting the eyepiece with another while looking inside the viewfinder.

How it Works

Bushnell tour V3 is easy to use laser rangefinder. Whenever you want to read the distance, you have to press the power button. When you are ready to set the target, hold the primary button, and leave the rest of its lense until it measures the target. After that, release the button now. It will automatically turn off after every 30 seconds of setting the target.

Frequently Asked Question

Can the Jolt feature be turned off?

Yes, It can easily be turned off by just a single tape if you don’t like this feature or want to save your battery for a longer run.

The vibration produced by Jolt technology is just a confirmation that the rangefinder has read the distance and set the target. But this is not necessary, V3 can lock the target without using the Jolt feature.

Are there any other confirmation features available with the Tour V3?

Yes, The confirmation feature of setting the target is available in the Tour V3 rangefinder. The confirmation of setting a target is also determined by showing a small flag circle on the color screen.

Is the rangefinder waterproof?

Yes, the V3 rangefinder is waterproof, and you can use it even on rainy days without any hassle. So it can be used in any weather condition.

Our Verdict

We have completely given a Bushnell Tour V3 Review, and it will make you capable enough to buy this by getting confused. If you are searching for a small rangefinder that is easy to travel, this would be your next pick.

But if you are searching for a slope feature, then Bushnell Tour V3 with Slope is another best pick for you. Otherwise, a player with a tight budget can consider the Bushnell V2 rangefinder which is a basic model.

It stopped working. I bought a new battery and it still doesn't work. At one point, it started vibrating and the letter M was flashing, but then it stopped vibrating and I can't get it to work. I'm not sure if it's the battery because it's new or if it's a problem with the device.

Bushnell Tour V3 I can't measure anymore, setting it to meters no longer works. When turning it on, you can still see Ym and it stays that way. What should I do? Best regards, Marek.

I can no longer set it to meters, when turned on it still shows "Ym" and then automatically switches to "y" and stays there. What should I do? Best regards, Werner Swaczyna

"I have changed the battery and now it shows 1888 ym and some other things. How do I get it to measure meters? When I hold down, it blinks m 3 times and switches to y 3 times but then it's back to 1888 ym again! Thankful for a quick answer!"

Same problem as already listed below. I can no longer set it to meters, when turned on it still shows Ym, then it automatically switches to y and stays there. What should I do?

I own a Bushnell v3. After i have focused on a flag stick the numbers appear on the screen but then all numbers disappear. So I cannot get a final reading. What should i do?

Hello grumpy dolphins over walls morning so this morning you'll probably see this decision tomorrow yeah it's a Thursday one it's round one cut opening value off for the Alpha so good luck towards it fine enough and I'm going to think a little bit differently today I'm going to a course love obviously comes out I'm a dining room table at home I'm going to do a product review comparison report GPS watch laser rangefinder show you on my iPad but GPS be boys for your iPhone or smartphone so do you get that cough up so let's start almost start with what I'll use or variable for me obviously I start off using the gob app on my phone which I use golf shot which is where I showed you and what do you get from golf at golf shop blocking of the Bree version which will give you a view of the hole so this is a seven hole for my course okay so it is a four hundred and sixty two yards par 5 that's four six piece of the middle off the white keys now this data here is all on the phone up but you will see it all on the same screen and on the phone so this data here is my scores per hole so this hole I am risk or 5.6 or just those of our hits 71 percent of the play was for the rounds of play 43 percent greens in regulation and generally our to put on this hole but what I like about this app is the free version you're only going to get from middle and black distances which you can see here buck edge Center for an edge obviously this is opted key so give me the distance to the creek and carried to the creek as well because I get the odds of the premium version so the nice thing about that is with oversight watch where you're just getting front middle and back I know how funny to lay up or if I'm feeling brave how far I need to carry that Creek together for a Ledge now obviously we do front middle and back distances you can do the math yourself but the nice thing about this it takes that it takes a mess out of the 48 it's done that's it that's what you need there nice thing about this up as well and you can track your scores and so I've let you talk put your score in when you miss the fairway let the right how many put your heart and it will it all generate obviously you throw X I see you in regulation actually you put in you puts put a hole and you put around or think this is a great app and you can do the score it sort of things on the freely bump half the page you don't have to pay for it's not going to choose to pay for it the downside of this important PS single area it stalls secondly it grills the battery on your phone and all contacted golf shoppers from a lot on how to save the battery on my phone walks using and again your do it balls you can get up their website hung it out the night off so unless you've got one of these bad boys which is a battery charging part you very much stuff but this this is a lifesaver if you're going to use this app so that's about really for me the only downside of the app and second ounce of me is I can't feel mine usually other sites after the all more film is pop more fun at president but I spoil advice you're not filming a little worried about so yeah that's the happen for me if you are on Virginia youngest huge amount of money you can't go wrong with it you know it gives you the same information and the watch now this is a TomTom to watch obviously can wear as are watching to tell you the toilet I thought this will give you a front middle and back up as well you can mark head scores on this however war 20 wearing a jumper he cover the screen it marks his score so you may not even took a shot and mark cause for you and ii importantly I can't wear a watch on the bow of course my mother wore one of what is that on the course I can't wear or watching you physically can't do them enables that I've done no royal just just one of those things and but again if you can wear a watch it is a great big kick but it's like it gives you those distances front middle and back I think this boost is the heart does the hazards as well you've got to start scrolling through things and messing around when you on the golf course slow play in a massive issue everybody talks about it it's a massive argument to impose democracy feels a channel you've done a few vlogs on it and but I'm not going to get into that debate you want things to be as quick as possible to you on a look at your watch okay I've got 252 little look at your phone okay about 250 to the middle which is fine so quickly and use again this is just as good as the out over and advantages of the app to this you can physically see the whole because of course you haven't played and it's a blind hole you can see where the hole is a drive out you can see where you've got a layup you can see you can physically see the hole on your your phone on your your app where this you're looking at this is a melon I've got 200 to the middle bit Khan even see the green that's where this falls out now so personally I'm not fun of the watching that I have been the cooker is I can't wear it and the information is limited but it's still helpful worth long ways out finally the laser rangefinder particular is a new model this is the Bushnell pour v4 sort addition we've Bushnell to do a range of range finders so you have one with swipes low ones without slope and some with job technologies from without job technology the in one unit have it all so what you find with others you'll have the unit of five painting so take it out face playing but without slope are you so my journey to roller slope isn't allowed in competition use general plays you can you slow the competition you can't use slope you can use a fine though you can use the laser rangefinder you can't use a slope addition now with this other face got both in no changeable face place as you can see here classes taught before now on all of only also for defaults for X whichever model is it will stay here the advantage of this one is if you switch it up slow petition for what is on it when it push the like that come on there's a bit of my target I'm going to get two readings are winning a hundred and fifty yards to the pin play in 136 playing 168 with that slow finishing at a tree into account the slope of what's in front of it switch it off I only get not readable and I'm 51 to the test didn't exercise things account so this is by pleading my own on legal in one small is easy to use equal to U and similarly to the watch I can't leave I can't see the whole doesn't know where I'm going but the advantage of this is following a dogleg left the right and what trees in front of me I can zap the trees will know how far those trees are so I know I need to Club back so I don't hit the trees but I still got a gap to go through all of us whichever is similarly again determine in the distance to a hazard pick up a mark on the hazard II are you know what how that I've got the red and yellow stakes I can pick those stakes or give me the distance to the hazard so this gives me as much information as the app what should I do a little work for it an excuse me exactly finishes to the pit obviously so wherever's I'm getting to a degree with the app and the watch it's 150 to the middle 162 from to the battery you getting this will giving an exact distance to the Melo's then you don't know yardages I know my own used it for three or four yards and that's going to if you know your yardage easy that's a brilliant if you don't know your yardages none of these actually going to be illegal to you to be honest you may as well have a piece of paper so 250 but if you don't know what you hit 250 it is probably a bit of a lizards resolution the driver once definitely if you don't know what you hit 170 any of these apps are going to be no use to you so there's a little bit of work that you need to do in the sense of you need to know yardages so this is going to give me exactly considered for the pimple which I like because I knuckle decide on what's green is I know where the slopes are so I'm going to play it short to went up when I pass to spin it back and you can put creativity into your game whereas that you get it on when to flag it mentally that me sort of guessing unless unless you're playing a course where you flag the grader red for the front yellow for the middle water the back which I've only played a couple that do that and so yeah that's that sort of leave the plusses and minuses in my opinion about the three apps or use them all to be honest with ya I've gone out on the course of about this attacking about have a bit attached to the bag man on phone in your pocket to to check I don't see any downside really other than cost if you are on a tight budget Konami Holly shooting got no money budget the app is perfect log say it's free up to two not you know in a moment and well you don't want people like 29 per year do the app is fantastic but watches PBS watches range from around hundred pounds to 300 pounds so again there's a wider market from a reasonable products of crazy money and they just expensive you talking to an offer and requital too sick and you could for me and but for me they're invaluable I think this is it could great basic it and I especially wouldn't switch technology other side you can you can't go wrong with also job technology which is why didn't you mention on a moment that well the job technology is is when you point at a true for example you just get distance in the canals when you point it the flag it doesn't pick the trees or behind one you know you've got the flag it will vibrate in your hand the jolt so you know the distance is reading is to the flag on the people have nothing else so yeah and that's that's that so for me personally what I use more than anything or usually I have used or trade but recently I'm using a combination of the ladies army up the Apple use more for marking my score and seeing my stats which i think is a great Peter kiss for a create Peter kit on a lot of the things like a goal for the cousin whatnot but marking your your stats pretty much invaluable really because you can see where you need to work and I like amateurs willing to work in pretty much all areas you know I know recently I'm not putting shocking to on am I putting started it up and up and open up on back to about 1.7 at the minute from while I was at 2.4 2.5 so is bringing that down the last magician but without the help of the app seem well going wrong and help of put out training aids on that is practicing putting with so that's that's pretty much it you and obviously with all these devotees you need to learn yardage roughly all I know all I get 7-iron about 150 I know okay my 6-iron 150 each I know my order get roughly so these these apps and these these odd is handy for me because when you know roughly what I'm hearing a ball and are bombing book if you have no idea that can't stress this enough if you've got no idea where you're getting the ball distance always don't spend the money my point the app will help you clock so you can see that he gone over there while he go in but if you don't know you're here then don't waste good morning for the range practice get your distances when you know your distances and fork out on some awesome tech so don't waste the money straight away if you don't know how far you at all don't be the goal for this couple of gear and no I'll do you look so but yeah that's more review and comparison all these three and it's going to do a separate product review on this bad boy as well because see I'll be doing a little review on this but then that's it for me guys but for now hope you have a great weekend enjoy the Open Championship I look love championship round one on society so let's hope that goes well I Bushnell Tour V3 Video Review

Welcome to my Muskoka golf today we're bringing you a full review of the Bushnell tour v3 laser rangefinder here it is 2r v3 Canadian model like green same as the American and international just a different color single button on top press one stacked of eight press and hold again on a flag or your target you'll give you your yardage in yards or meters adjustable eyepiece fine-tunes it and that's about it carrying case and let's go a tea deck for some thought I've always used the Garmin GPS you can see my review up here if you press on that link and been happy with it wanted a laser rangefinder but they were always 500 bucks 400 bucks just a little out of my league and for those who are asking all these products I'm reviewing I by myself like most a lot of the magazine to review these they get them free I'm buying this my review is honest this finally went on sale I know it's all it's probably a three year old model and I think in the States it's around 200 I think I got it for 230 40 Canadian so these are coming down a lot in price the base model doesn't have the slope with the basic stuff I figured I'd give it a shot and I'm loving it nothing more frustrating than with the Garmin GPS which I did like and it's good for the money when you're at the hundred yard marker and you know it's a hundred yards and your Garmin says 97 96 I know it's only for three yards off but that's twelve feet that's the difference between you know a birdie or a park or a bogey and a double bogey depending how you're playing so with this you're at the hundred yard marker you hit it it's a hundred yards it's dead-on they say it's dead-on 2,000 yards I'm not sure but it's dead-on so just that accuracy has been amazing it is easy-to-use though the worst part the one con it's very shaky when you're holding it you got to use two hands if you're riding in a cart or as they say a buggy on the other side of the pond I will do it with my elbow on my thigh to keep it steady because it is a little shaky if your 150-200 out it is a little difficult to get onto the flag but it does work and you will get it eventually but who's those who say it isn't shaky that's not true eventually hope they have some video stabilization like they have in camera phones and stuff or they could do it in the lens if they do that eventually that'll be a big improvement also you will get a false reading behind the green sometimes because it has jolt technology to pick up the flag I think it's some sort of movement thing so the leaves behind the greens sometimes you'll pick that up so you kind of have to have an idea my 120-130 out because all of a sudden you're gonna get like a 160 and it's the trees behind that probably only happens 10 15 percent of the time other than that it's dead-on not a problem where I really love this is practicing on a par 3 or course like that you can hit the pin at 70 yards that drop a bunch of balls and see which wedge works from that and so I did like 70 yards at 80 yards out 90 yards I dropped five balls and you can really dial in your wedges that was a huge thing so when I'm on the course and I see a 70 yards out bang I know what I'm using other cons besides the shakiness nothing really to be honest I'm really loving it I don't use the case I take it out there's also a little cleaning rag in here don't throw it I lost mine already because this will get dusty on the course if you're near a bunker it doesn't take long to use I know some people thought you know I can look at my Garmin there's the yardage this once you get used to it three four seconds that's it you know fits in your hand nice solid very heavy I've dropped it on the car path many times very solid the glass is a little recessed so it's not gonna break so yeah I give it a thumbs up like I say it's a base model three years old you can get it cheap now you might want to give it a shot my Muskoka golf coming right at you like and subscribe if you like my videos gonna have more stuff coming up buy all the stuff myself honest review can I tell you what I like what I don't like tweet me right here you want to ask me questions I don't give reviews the products I don't like I've tried a lot but I'm not gonna give any negative publicity about anyone's product so if there's something you want to try might have tried it and just not reviewed it so tweet me and message me and I'll get back to you alright thanks for watching my Muskoka golf see you next time

Forked from vue-tour

Vue Tour is a lightweight, simple and customizable tour plugin for use with Vue.js 3. It provides a quick and easy way to guide your users through your application.

Table of Contents

Getting started, something missing.

You can install vue3-tour using npm or by downloading the minified build on GitHub.

For a more detailed documentation, checkout the docs for vue-tour .

before() UI step functions

If you have a feature request or found a bug, let us know by submitting an issue.

Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt Golf Laser Rangefinder

Bushnell tour v3 jolt laser rangefinder review.

It features a ranging distance of 10 to 1000 yards within one yard of accuracy. The Tour V3 Jolt is also one of the least expensive rangefinders while also providing fast and accurate readings. The unit is legal for tournament play and score posting for handicap.

  • Water-resistant:  the model is resistant to sudden droplets of moisture.
  • Affordable:  The Bushnell Tour V3 can be found for less than $300.
  • Easy to Use:  The model features one-button operation and vibrates when locked on to a target.
  • Could have higher magnification:  the Tour V3 model only features a 5x magnification.
  • While useful,  JOLT technology  will only activate once the device has determined that it has locked on to its target, even if the distance reading is accurate.

Ease of Use

The Tour V3 measures 4.3 x 2.8 x 1.6 inches and weighs less than 8 ounces without its carrying case. It features rubber lining in several areas to enhance gripping. The Tour V3 also has an adjustable eyepiece with -2 to +2 diopter adjustment.

The eyepiece is adjusted by firmly twisting the area, which can be done with one hand, although it is easier to do so by holding with one hand and adjusting with the other.

The model features just one button located on the top of the unit. This button is responsible for turning the rangefinder on or off, powering the laser and adjusting various settings. The cross-hair style cannot be changed.

The Bushnell Tour V3 can provide readings in yards and meters. It also features a SCAN mode that allows for reading distances on a number of targets while panning across a landscape. PinSeeker technology allows the user to range flags easily without worrying about capturing the distances of targets in the background.

If multiple objects are read, the PinSeeker technology provides data on the closest object. JOLT technology works with PinSeeker to increase accuracy and peace of mind. It confirms correct targets by providing bursts of vibration once the laser has locked on to its target.

Obtaining Readings

The Tour V3 easily picks up targets at less than 200 yards, including locking on and giving a JOLT response. Finding targets beyond this range is more difficult, however, and the device has a harder time distinguishing against complex backgrounds. Even without always locking on in these instances the device is still able to provide accurate distance readings for the desired target.

As far as speed, the Bushnell Tour V3 is one of the fastest rangefinders when it comes to locking on to multiple targets. Even with the time taken for PinSeeker to lock on its target it still offers quick readings along with rapid reading to new targets. Accurate distance readings can be given even without locking on and setting on the distance reading.

The Bushnell Tour V3 JOLT can be purchased for less than $300, making it one of the most affordable rangefinders available. It lacks the same magnification, OLED displays and slope-adjustment found in other rangefinders in its class yet it carries its value in reliable distance readings and PinSeeker technology.

Bushnell V3 vs V4 – Rangefinder Comparison

Last Updated on December 26, 2023 by Matt Greene *Read our  review guidelines .

v3 tour

My V3 Tour on the left and V4 Tour on the right

I own both the   Bushnell Tour V4 and the older Bushnell Tour V3 so I'm able to compare these two excellent devices with some authority and in this article, I'll run through the key differences and similarities between the two.

Before we do some comparisons with the Bushnell V3 vs V4, it's important to state that a golf rangefinder is the easiest investment to make in your game for maximum return. It's not complicated, you don't need to grind out hours on a driving range or go to the gym to use one. It's a point and shoot device that helps you pick the right club in every situation without doubt.

Onto the rangefinders...

Bushnell Tour V3 vs Tour V4

The V4 and V3 from Bushnell are very similar in features and within the housing, there isn't too much to differentiate between them. Performance-wise, they perform similarly in terms of speed of use, ease-of-use and accuracy - two of the most accurate and quick golf rangefinders on the market.

Below I've highlighted the noticeable differences between in the Tour V4 model that may affect a buying decision. Both are great little devices and you can't go wrong with even the Tour V3 if you can find one.

More hip and more ergonomic

The Tour V4 is a much newer model which naturally brings a feeling of an upgrade or redesign. And the housing is certainly much nicer and newer looking than the Tour V3. The Tour V3 looks quite clunky and feels old school with a less ergonomic design.

Aesthetics aside, the ergonomics are marginally nicer for smaller hands on the V4.

On the Tour V4, your thumb padding slots in nicely to the bottom of the device and the added grip on the top of the device is a nice touch for single-hand use without it slipping and dropping to the ground.

Longer pin-range and smaller body

The Tour V3 performs equally as quickly as the Tour V4 but the Tour V4 is much smaller in size and weighs 15% less than the Tour V3. I have size 23/24 hands which are not very big and the Tour V4 fits nicely into my palm with my fingers curled around it.

For guys with bigger hands, the Tour V4 might feel quite small.

While the housing and the size has changed, the performance of the Tour V3 and V4 are pretty much identical. The JOLT technology which notifies you with a vibration that the device has found the distance is the same in both devices. Range and magnification are identical but where the Tour V4 seems to edge the V3 is in flag-seeking range. It can pick up a flag from 400 yards while the V3 can pick flags up at 300.

v3 tour

Why would anyone need to shoot a flag at 400 yards? Well, I thought the same and then one day I wanted to know how far the flag was and it was 369 yards away instead of the 397 yards on the card. That made a huge difference to my tee shot where I would rather hit a 3 iron  instead of the driver off that tee.

The Tour V3 is an old model and with all obsolete models, support and interest from the manufacturers dwindle. If you can find a good second hand Tour V3, go for it because it's an amazing product but if you're buying new, I would always say go for the Tour V4 . I love mine.

But if you want to spend less on your rangefinder, there are some cheaper golf rangefinders available like the Precision Pro range.

Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT

The Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT builds upon the prior generation Bushnell Tour V2 , with the same magnification (5x), range performance (5-1000 yards), and accuracy (to within 1 yard). The Tour v3 introduces Bushnell’s JOLT technology, which provides short bursts of vibration to indicate that its PinSeeker technology has locked onto a target. The JOLT technology may not be for everyone, but if you don’t like it, you can turn it off – we found ourselves appreciating it more over time. We do note that the Tour v3 does not always indicate that it has locked onto the target (via icon of a circle surrounding the flagstick in the display) even when it is returning the correct distances, and if the device hasn’t determined that it is locked on, there will be no accompanying vibration. As a result, it became clear that we didn’t absolutely have to have indication that the laser was locked onto a target – if the distance appears accurate, it probably is.

When you fire the laser, the distances will intermittently update as you pan across objects. We found that the laser can continue to fire in the range of 3-5 seconds before it locks onto a target, after which the yardage will continue to display for 15 seconds after the firing button is released. Distances to additional targets can be obtained even after PinSeeker has locked onto a target if you continue to pan.

The Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT is a solid device and at $299, is $100 less than the Bushnell Tour V2 and one of the least expensive golf laser devices tested. It provides quick and accurate readings even without verification, which was OK with us. But if you are keen on the PinSeeker and JOLT functionality, just realize that you may not get feedback with every reading.

  • Reasonable price
  • It vibrated!
  • Only 5x magnification
  • JOLT technology provides the same information as the PinSeeker icon in the display, so it’s more of an augmentation than a separate feature

EASE OF USE

Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT

The Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT is a vertically held rangefinder measuring 4.3″ x 2.8″ x 1.6″, which is about average in size within its class. Its weight (as tested) was 7.4 ounces without the carry case, putting it on par with other vertically held rangefinders, and 10.4 ounces with the carrying case.

The device keeps true to the latest color scheme of Bushnell laser rangefinders, featuring a primarily white plastic body with black plastic accents and rubber in the grip areas.

The grey nylon carrying case is firm but not solid, providing adequate protection for the Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT. The zippered case is primarily grey, with black and red highlights. The case opens to about 35 degrees, with netting at the sides that does a nice job of preventing the rangefinder from falling out if you elect to leave the case open for easy access during a round. The Tour v3 JOLT easily slides in and out of the case, and the case can be attached to a bag or cart with the attached elastic loop or black carabiner. A small dust cloth is included for wiping the lens clean.

There is only one button on the Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT, the power/laser button, which is located on the top of the device. This button not only powers the device on and off and fires the laser, but is also used to adjust settings (switching between yards and meters and turn the JOLT feature on and off) if the button is held down when powering up (see below). There is no ability to change the cross-hair style.

As with most laser rangefinders, pressing the power/laser button turns on the device, and then pressing the button a second time will begin firing the laser and returning distances. The Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT displays the line-of-sight distance below the aiming circle, which has cross-hairs surrounding it when the laser is being fired. To the left of the distance reading is a flagstick icon that is part of the PinSeeker indicator – when the device has locked on to a target (which does not have to be a flagstick), a circle will surround the icon. When the player releases the power/laser button, the line-of-sight distance will continue to be shown for approximately 15 seconds. The aiming circle, cross-hairs, and distance information are presented in black, as the v3 lacks Bushnell’s “Vivid Display Technology.” Using an LCD display with distances and slope information in black can make information potentially more difficult to see against dark backgrounds. The Bushnell Tour v3 offers only 5x magnification, which is at the low end of among the laser rangefinders we have tested.

The Tour v3 JOLT has an adjustable eyepiece (+/- 2 diopter adjustment) that requires a firm twist to adjust. While it’s possible to adjust the eyepiece with one hand while looking through the viewfinder, most people will find it easier to hold the device with one hand and adjust with the other. Unlike the high-end Bushnell golf laser rangefinders, the eyepiece does not twist “up”, which is used by some laser rangefinders such as the Bushnell Pro 1M to shield off extraneous light.

The Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT uses a single CR-2 3-volt lithium battery that inserts through a twist cap on the right of the device. Bushnell recommends replacing the battery once every twelve months.

For more details, check out the Critical Golf comparison of laser rangefinder ease of use .

The Bushnell Tour v3’s always-on PinSeeker mode is prevalent in the Bushnell line and most competing products have a similar feature, all with the goal of locking onto the closest target within a line of sight, which under most circumstances is a flagstick against a background of trees or hills. PinSeeker works as well as it has on the Bushnell devices we have used in the past, which is to say that it is generally quite good, but not infallible. Occasionally the Tour v3 will lock onto objects behind the pin. It doesn’t happen often enough to give us any pause in recommending the device, and in the cases where it would initially provide distances to the background object (which is generally pretty obvious), a quick re-fire usually righted this wrong. “PinSeeker” is a bit of a misnomer, as it can provide locked-on distances to any target – trees, bunker faces, mounds, the group in front of you that you are considering driving into…

If a circle is not shown around the flagstick icon within the display, the device may still be providing the distance to the appropriate target, but for whatever reason is still sensing multiple objects in its path. We experienced this situation fairly frequently, and although there was no indication that the device has locked on to the target, it would still return the correct distance. It is difficult to say exactly when the Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT will “lock” onto a target and display the circle around the flagstick icon (indicating PinSeeker has found a target). Curiously, the device will often allow players to continue panning across targets (even after it JOLTS and displays the PinSeeker icon) for a range of 4-10 seconds

Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT

Lastly, let’s talk about the newest and most heavily-marketed feature of the Bushnell Tour v3: Bushnell’s JOLT technology. While most laser rangefinders provide some indication that the device has locked onto a target through either through some icon on the display and/or a beep or a tone, the Bushnell Tour v3 is the first device that adds haptics to a laser rangefinder. We weren’t enamored at first and looked for a setting that would enable us to turn the pulsing vibrations off (and while the manual indicates you can turn off JOLT, we aren’t able to do so on our device); however, over time we grew to appreciate the additional validation of locking onto a target. Some players will like the feature while others are satisfied with just a visual indicator and will find the JOLT to be no more than a marketing gimmick. Interestingly, the JOLT functionality hasn’t raised the price from the prior generation device (see ‘Value’, below), so whether you like it or not, at least you aren’t paying more for this feature compared to last years’ device.

The Bushnell Tour v3 provides distance information in 1-yard increments. The displayed distances don’t blink when they are being refreshed, so there are times when you’re firing the laser that you may wonder if the device is doing anything. If you’re in doubt, just check if cross-hairs are shown around the center aiming circle – that’s the indicator that the laser is being fired.

While the 5x magnification is at the low end of device magnification (the majority of quality rangefinders now offer 6x magnification), it’s a tradeoff for significant cost savings.

Additionally, the device is rainproof and has coated optics that are intended to help whisk away the rain and dust.

For more details, check out the Critical Golf comparison of laser rangefinder features .

OBTAINING DISTANCE READINGS

Bushnell claims a range of 5 to 1,000 yards for the Bushnell Tour v3 under optimal conditions, and 300+ yards to a flag. The top-of-the-line laser rangefinders will reach farther distances, but we find that maximum range of a rangefinder is less important than the actual performance in picking up targets within its capabilities and the ability to precisely pick out pins in the 150-350 yard range.

Ease of Locking on a Target: The Bushnell Tour v3 did an admirable job of picking out targets. At 185 yards or less it was able to lock onto targets and give us a JOLT the vast majority of the time. The device started to struggle to lock on to targets beyond this range against difficult backgrounds, with increasing challenges at more than 200 yards. It is important to note that while the device did not necessarily lock on to the flagstick at farther distances (and thus did not provide the PinSeeker icon or accompanying JOLT), it still has the ability to return an accurate distance. If you’re holding down the laser button and the displayed yardage is no longer varying, the device is usually providing the distance to the desired target.

We found that the displayed yardages update at the same rate of speed regardless of the distance to the target. There may be a brief pause while it initially locks on to a target, but this can occur regardless of distance.

Speed Test: The Bushnell Tour v3 is as speedy as any laser rangefinder we’ve reviewed, recording one of the fastest times in our tests of locking onto multiple targets. Even with the always-on PinSeeker mode, we could quickly get distance readings and re-fire at additional targets. You can get accurate distances to points without the device needing to lock on and freeze at a distance reading, so you can pan among several targets without needing to re-fire the laser. In truth, however, we found it much faster to simply press the laser button again anytime we wanted distances to additional targets. We did observe some incorrect distances returned when alternating between bunker faces and other parts of the course, but these were relatively limited during our tests.

Check out our laser rangefinder speed test to see how the Bushnell Tour v3 Slope compares against the best laser rangefinders.

At only $299 retail, the Bushnell Tour v3 JOLT is one of the most reasonably priced laser rangefinders on the market, and even carries a 2-year warranty. While it has slightly less magnification than most of the competition and lacks bells and whistles such as OLED displays and the slope-adjusted distance information, it still offers compelling value. It has a sporty look, Bushnell’s PinSeeker technology, and if you are into things that vibrate, you’ll dig it even more.
