Visit Horley In Blackwater

Ride west to meet marshall davies, follow lee through the forest, take out montez & his gang, visit horley in blackwater - walkthrough chart, 1. horley can be found in blackwater.

To be able to start this mission, you first need to talk to Horley at Blackwater. He will give you three leads to further progress the mission.

2. Complete "If the Hat Fits" In Blackwater

The sheriff of Blackwater can be found in Pike's Basin, to the west of Macfarlane's Ranch. You need to complete this story mission to activate "Where Your Morals Lead You".

2. Complete "Love and Honor' In Tumbleweed

You can find the Tumbleweed sheriff in the Tumbleweed Jail. You need to complete this story mission to activate "Where Your Morals Lead You".

2. Complete "The Right Side Of The Tracks" In Valentine

Valentine's sheriff is in the Painted Sky Ranch, found southwest of the town of Valentine. You need to complete this story mission to activate "Where Your Morals Lead You".

Ride West To Meet Marshall Davies - Walkthrough Chart

1. head west of blackwater to find marshall davies.

You can find Marshall Davies at his camp in the woods to the west of the town of Blackwater. You can initiate match-making once you approach him.

Follow Lee Through The Forest - Walkthrough Chart

1~12. use silent weapons or kill quickly.

Enemies who are alerted by gun shots will increase the number of men protecting Montez. Try to use silent weapons like bows or knives or eliminate foes quickly to avoid alerting the gang.

2 & 10. Take Out Patrol Or Let Them Pass

In this part of the mission, you can either take out the patrol guards or let them pass. This won't affect the story but if you don't take the patrol out quickly, you'll alert other enemies and they'll come to your location.

4, 6, 8. Aim For Head Shots For Quick Kills In A Shootout

It's best to aim for head shots when you're in a shootout to minimize damage received and save bullets.

Take Out Montez & His Gang - Walkthrough Chart

1. take cover using boxes in the camp.

You'll face quite a number of Montez's gang members. Remember to take cover to defend yourself - use the boxes scattered around to get closer to enemies while protecting yourself.

Red Dead Online Story Missions Walkthrough Guide

Throughout your game time in Red Dead Online, you might have to help a few sheriffs a few times. Our Red Dead Online Story Missions Walkthrough Guide will take you through all of these missions in a step-by-step manner.

Red Dead Online Story Missions Walkthrough

Let us start with all of the missions that you can do when playing Red Dead Online. We will explain all of the important objectives that you need to achieve when going through the missions of the game. We will start with If the Hat Fits.

If the Hat Fits

At the start, you need to go to a camp found in Pike’s Basin. Get to the camp to the southwest and pick off the enemies one by one. After that, take care of the gang that is protecting the outlaw who is your main objective.

Try to fight them from the upper side of the basin and then make your way down.

Once you have the outlaw, tie him up and take him to the Police Chief. There will be many enemies coming from above whom you need to kill and then use your horse to go into the basin.

Keep on shooting the enemies around you. They will come from both sides. When you get to the campsite, you can either help him and get some cash on your way to the Police Chief or do not help him and be honorable.

Love and Honor

Speak with Horley in Blackwater and you can find this mission in the middle of Tumbleweed. Go to the Sheriff’s Office to get this mission. After that, head on over to the Twin Rocks. Then, clear out the gank over there and find Mrs. O’Dowd.

Your objective can be found inside the building and you will be given the choice of either helping the couple (honorable) or taking down Cliff (dishonorable).

If you help them, you will protect them as they make their way to the hideout. Ride in the wagon or follow them and take out enemies as they come about.

If you decide to not help them, the main part is the same and you will need to escort Mrs. O’Dowd to her husband. Simply tie her up and take her to Tumbleweed to complete the mission.

The Right Side of the Tracks

Talk to Horley in Blackwater and choose the mission to the southwest of Caliban’s Seat. After that, you need to go to Bob Crawfish in his hideout.

It is quite close to the beginning of the mission. Take cover because enemies will greet you.

Once you have killed the guards, you will have to chase Crawfish and catch up to them. Eventually, you can hogtie them.

Remember that the enemies will split up and your party will need to chase them individually to get them all. In the end, you need to get the thief to the tracks at Fort Riggs so that they can meet Arnsdale.

Simply follow the quest marker and deliver them to Arnsdale to complete the mission. You can either help or kill the thieves in the end.

Honor Among Horse Thieves

This mission is automatically available to you when you complete the tutorial of the game. You will have to visit Clay Davies on your map to start the mission.

Then, you need to steal horses for Clay by going to the location mentioned on your map. Get outside the Woolen Mill and take out the enemies in there. Kill all the players in there and get the horse from the stable to the east side.

Once you have calmed the horse, steal it, and take the horse to the stable marked on your map. The stable is in Saint Denis and you will have to face many enemies along the way. Once you are there, you will have completed the mission.

Where Your Morals Lead You

You can start this mission by heading to Horley after you have completed the 3 Sheriff Missions. Then, head on over with Marshal Davies to the campsite north of Manzanita.

He will introduce you to a tracker and will take you to find Alfredo Montez. Simply follow Lee and defeat all of the enemies on the way.

That you will be taking part in 5 interactions. After that, you will find Alfredo Montez. Here, kill his gang as well as Montez. You will have to face off enemies depending on how many you killed previously.

Eventually, you will have his head and you need to get to Manzanita post. There are many enemies on the way who you need to kill. Get to the post to complete the mission.

Highly Illegal and Highly Moral

This mission tells you that you killed the wrong guy in the last mission. At the start, you need to go to either Van Horn or the Camp. Go to one of them and look for the Lieutenant.

At Van Horn, you need to take out Montez’s Lieutenant. Simply be stealthy, follow him, and eventually take him out.

After that, you need to clear the camp and return to Marshal. Then, you will ride out to Montez and his convoy and you need to catch him to bring him back to the drop-off area and complete the mission.

If the Hat Fits Guide – Red Dead Online

In  Red Dead Online you are tasked with helping out a few sheriffs throughout the world. One sheriff you will help out is the Police Chief of Blackwater. The Police Chief of Blackwater can be located in Pike’s Basin just northwest of Macfarlane’s Ranch. Meeting this sheriff will trigger the If The Hat Fits… mission. Below is our If the Hat Fits guide, use it to complete the mission.

Starting the If the Hat Fits Mission

You can start the If the Hat Fits mission near the Macfarlane Ranch.

To start the If the Hat Fits Mission you will first need to have spoken with Horley in Blackwater (during the A Land of Opportunities mission). During this meeting he will tell you to help out a few sheriffs throughout the map. The Blackwater Police Chief mission can be found in Pike’s Basin just northwest of Macfarlane’s Ranch. Go there when the scale symbol appears on your map. The mission itself is as follows:

A conman and outlaw is on the loose. Whether justice is done will depend on your honor.

This mission has a required player number of 2 – 4.

Go to The Camp

At the start of this mission make your way to the camp where the conman is hiding.

The smooth talking conman the Sheriff wants us to take out is located at a camp in Pike’s Basin. Your first mission objective is to reach the camp. The camp can be found to the southwest of the starting mission location. You can go down into the basin or stay up top to pick off the enemies. Regardless, make your way to the camp to trigger the next objective which is to take out the guards protecting the conman.

Take out The Gang Protecting the Outlaw

Once you reach the camp you will be tasked with taking out the gang that is protecting the outlaw. If you want to make things easy and safe for yourself, engage from the upper are of the basin rather than running down immediately. With the high ground advantage is it fairly easy to pick off the enemies and stay safe at the same time. Once you’ve cleared out the enemies make your way down to the outlaw.

Help Deliver the Outlaw to the Police Chief

When you hogtie the conman a number of enemies will rush into the valley.

With the conman hogtied you will then be tasked with delivering the outlaw to the Police Chief. While this sounds easy it is at this moment a cutscene triggers and a number of enemies rush down into the valley from above. Kill these enemies and then mount your horse and follow the mission marker deeper into the basin.

The next portion of this mission is essentially a corridor shooter. As you ride you will need to fend off enemies on all sides of the basin. As you go you will find that you reach a spot where an explosion triggers and essentially incapacitates your horse. From here you need to proceed on foot. Make sure someone in your party is carrying the conman. Eventually you will reach a campsite where you can put the conman down. At this moment you will be presented with a choice:

• Help the Conman (Dishonorable).
• Don’t Help Him (Honorable).

If you help the conman he will lead you to some cash along the way to the Police Chief before he departs. Regardless of choice the last objective of this mission is to ride to the Police Chief with the conman (or body). Once you do this you will complete the mission.

Red Dead Redemption 2 & RDR Online Bounty Mission Location

Bounty hunting is a profession that has stood the test of time and has its origins in the Wild West of America. So it makes sense that the feature make it to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online as it featured in the prequel. Bounty Hunting lets you live out your cowboy fantasy and be on the good side of the law. Since bounty hunting has found its foothold in the American Judicial System it becomes a tool for vigilance and safekeeping of the neighborhood.

In Red Dead Redemption 2 you can carry out Bounty Hunting missions and collect a hefty reward for turning bad guys in, the worse the enemy, the higher the bounty and reward associated with it. But you can always be certain that you will end up with a bunch of bandits following you and if you are on the case of an outlaw who has a large bounty to his name. His posse will try to stop you and shoot at you.

But there is a method in which you can easily escape without collecting the bounty on you after you commit a crime and there are ways to reduce your bounty in the game too. If a bystander witnesses you commit a crime, he or she will most definitely run to the authorities to report the crime and you can find your way around this:

• Making sure there aren’t any witnesses around while you commit a crime.
• If a witness has seen you but is unsure about your appearance, a white eye will be shown on the map indicating that the witness is unsure about the perpetrator and will only highlight a certain part of the map with red showing the location of the crime.
• If the witness has identified you, he will run to the authorities and a bounty will be added to your name.

Now there are ways to get rid of the bounty.

You can start by covering your face with a bandana that way you can easily evade capture by the local authorities and run away till the wanted level runs out, you will have to change your appearance quickly so that the witness doesn’t recognize you. or, you can pay off your bounty at any post office in the game, you need not  visit the town where the crime was committed. You can just visit any post office and pay the bounty which will no longer may you wanted by the law officials and other bounty hunters.

If you wish to partake in your cowboy fantasy and be a man of the law you will have to spend a few hours in the game before you can start to pick up the bounty and apprehend criminals. After the stranger quest marker appears in the sheriff’s office in the town of Valentine. After you visit the Sheriff’s office he will ask you to bring back a murderer alive and upon completion of this mission, you will be able to earn in-game money as a bounty hunter.

Bounty hunting missions are plenty in towns like Valentine and Strawberry, you can earn handsome amount of money bounty hunting and it will certainly help you to be a sure shot in the game.

Law Enforcement in Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 contains a wide variety of law enforcement. Players can be pursued by all sorts of law enforcers when committing a crime.

Overview [ ]

When Arthur Morgan or John Marston commits a crime, it can be reported by an eyewitness to the law; if he cannot stop them, lawmen will appear at the scene. Any bandana or mask hides the player's identity to eyewitnesses. If someone successfully reports a crime, the identity of the suspect may be unknown, allowing the player to escape without incurring a bounty but lawmen will recognize him even if his face is covered. The player's clothing is also a factor. If the townsfolk have seen the player commit crimes in the current clothing previously, they may recognize him regardless of his mask.

There are multiple ways to deal with witnesses: if the witness has seen you commit a crime Arthur can threaten them or kill them to prevent the law coming after him. If a crime is reported but the suspect is unknown, Arthur can defuse any lawman investigating the scene. When a petty crime is committed, Arthur can apologize and leave without more repercussions.

When Arthur caught committing a crime he will get a Wanted Level and a Bounty on his head and will remain Wanted as long as lawmen see him. The higher these are, the more lawmen will join the pursuit. If the Bounty is high enough he will receive the Dead or Alive status in which pursuers will become more aggressive, local lawmen will be replaced by vigilantes and by Marshals and dogs . Bounty Hunters will also be more common.

Arthur can surrender to any lawman if he hasn't initiated a shootout with them yet. It will show a cutscene of Arthur in a jail cell, and eventually being released with funds taken from him, or a Van der Linde gang member will visit to release him. Otherwise, he can pay off his bounty with cash at one of the local Post Offices .

Lockdown [ ]

When committing enough crimes inside a town, it will go into lockdown. While in lockdown all shops and provision areas will be closed and the town will be patrolled by lawmen who will confront the player on sight should they be recognized.

While most towns will come out of lockdown after a certain amount of time, Blackwater will be in lockdown from the beginning of the game and will remain so until the end of Chapter 6 when the Van der Linde gang has disbanded. Attempting to enter south West Elizabeth will result in multiple Pinkertons spawning who will know Arthur's location immediately. Should Arthur attempt to enter New Austin he will be killed by an invisible sniper.

There are also 3 areas under permanent lockdown which are Sisika Penitentiary , Fort Wallace , and Guarma .

The only town with law enforcement that never goes into a lockdown state in free roam is Saint Denis .

Law Enforcement by Town [ ]

Saint denis [ ].

Saint Denis is one of two settlements in the game that has a uniformed police force; the Saint Denis Police Department . The Chief of Police in Saint Denis is Benjamin Lambert . Officers patrol the streets on foot or horseback, and regularly police public areas in great numbers.

Their uniform consists of a blue jacket, black pants and boots, white gloves, and a black custodian helmet. They are heavily armed and carry contemporary weapons.

Blackwater [ ]

Similarly to Saint Denis, Blackwater has a uniformed police force, known as the Blackwater Police Department . Here, the Chief of Police is Oswald Dunbar . Noticeably, hangings are carried out by an unidentified sheriff.

The department's uniform consists of a dark-blue coat with gold buttons, a badge worn on the left side of the chest, and a black custodian helmet.

In Rhodes and the surrounding area, the law is enforced by officers from the Scarlett Meadows Sheriff's Office . The town Sheriff is initially Leigh Gray , but he will be replaced by Harmon Thomas after the mission " A Short Walk in a Pretty Town ". Additionally, Grays will still loiter around town after Leigh Gray's death, and they will aid law enforcement.

Valentine [ ]

In Valentine , the law is enforced by the Valentine Sheriff's Office under the leadership of Sheriff Curtis Malloy . The player can pick up and deliver bounties to the sheriff and his deputies. If the player is arrested in The Heartlands , they will be transported to the jail within the Sheriff's office. After the mission " The Sheep and the Goats ", members of Cornwall's security agency will be in the Valentine saloon. They work alongside lawmen.

Strawberry [ ]

The Strawberry Sheriff and deputies based in the Strawberry Jail & Sheriff's Office enforce the law in Strawberry. Strawberry has its own sheriff's office from where bounties can be started and be delivered. The town's Sheriff is initially Hanley , although he will be replaced by Vernon Farley after the mission " Blessed are the Meek? ".

Annesburg [ ]

Annesburg has its own sheriff who is assisted by a group of deputies as well as the guards of the mining company . The town Sheriff is Jones , who can usually be found in the Annesburg Sheriff's Office .

If the player reaches Guarma through exploits and manages to get arrested (by passing out from alcohol while wanted), they will be sent to Annesburg jail as Guarma has no programming for being arrested.

Tumbleweed [ ]

Tumbleweed has its own sheriff department which is lead by the town Sheriff, Sam Freeman . He can commonly be found in town preaching about law and order. The local law enforcement was recently based in the Tumbleweed Sheriff's Office , until it was closed due to an incident. Throughout the game, the law operates from the Tumbleweed Jail .

Armadillo [ ]

The law in Armadillo is enforced by the Armadillo Sheriff's Office , from where a sheriff and his deputies operate. The town's Sheriff is Palmer , although he will either resign after being attacked by the Del Lobo Gang , or be killed by them, depending on the player's actions.

• Kicking a dead body is not considered a crime.
• Lawmen are shown to wear white hats, which is possibly a reference to black and white hat symbolism in film .
• Crossing state lines during a chase will cause some lawmen to cease pursuit, and exclaim to their fellow lawmen to stop as well. However if they’re close enough to the player they might continue the chase well into the other state. (This could be unintended)
• In Annesburg and Saint Denis, Hosea Matthews would enter the police station carrying bottles of whiskey, greeting the officers with a cheery "Hello, fellers!". Presumably either bribing the guards, getting them drunk or drugging or poisoning them, Hosea then leaves the police station with Arthur.
• In Valentine, Dutch van der Linde and Charles Smith enter masked and hold a deputy hostage with a Sawed-off Shotgun . They force another deputy to free Arthur, lock both deputies inside the cell and leave with Arthur. They would also blast through a wall in Arthur's cell with dynamite. The trio would escape on horseback.
• In Strawberry, John and Charles enter masked and armed with pistols and a shotgun respectively. They escape with Arthur.
• In Valentine, Dutch poses as Arthur's well-off cousin from Newport. He convinces the guards to release "Tacitus" and leaves with him.
• In Rhodes, Dutch blasts a hole through a wall in Arthur's cell with dynamite. Arthur climbs through the hole and escapes on horseback.
• While John's unique breakouts involve stealing keys from sleeping guards or bribery, a breakout in Blackwater has Abigail Marston storming inside the police station and berating "Jim Milton" before asking a deputy to string him up right then and now. When the deputy is looking away, she hits him with a truncheon, steals the keys and frees John, continuing to berate him as they leave.
• Unarmed assaults in Saint Denis would result in a bounty. For other towns such as Rhodes, Annesburg, Strawberry, Valentine, Blackwater or Tumbleweed would not cause a bounty. The lawmen will ask you to leave the area.
