ANDREW JONES TRAVEL REVIEWS

Since 2009 I have always asked Ruth at Andrew Jones Travel to book my overseas trips, especially those to Africa. She has always done an excellent job, especially paying attention to the smaller details. I have loved all the trips I have done, which amount to quite a few now. I thoroughly recommend her for all your travel needs.
We have been clients of Andrew Jones Travel since 2007 and have always had excellent service from each of the staff members we have dealt with. They have all been willing to help with any queries we have had and to make suggestions to ensure that our travel experiences are more enjoyable. We cannot fault the amount of time and attention given to us and the friendly manner with which we have been treated. We have always recommended Andrew Jones very highly to our friends and family.
My travel agent has been wonderful. She's made the whole holiday booking process stress free for us by taking care of the bookings I didn't feel able to do myself. Nothing is too much trouble. I totally recommend this agency if you're planning an overseas trip including planes, trains, ferries, car or camper hire.

Home   India travel   Who we are: The Women's Travel Group

Who we are: The Women's Travel Group

The original Club took off amazingly fast, first with local women who felt the same way but had no way to meet each other. In a few years, Phyllis received the honor of Top in Women’s Travel from prestigious Travel & Leisure Magazine who added women’s as a new category to its Top 100 list.  Many women helped in the early days: a Chinese teacher from the local college asked for help on her trip to China. A lawyer with family in Turkey added her expertise. A banker friend in Paris and interesting docents in London weighed in with tour ideas. India experts at SITA Tours, helped us organize our trips to that and other exotic areas.

In 2006, a large tour company approached the Club to buy it, due to Women’s Travel Club reputation , quality tours, and high repeat rate. It was acquired with a view to expanding tours. Phyllis left the company after her contract but continued to organize trips for friends.  In 2012, the acquiring company closed and its owners retired from travel. Phyllis and her team, jumped in immediately, changing only ‘Club’ to ‘Group’. Dues were eliminated. Shares became part of the package. SITA Tours became helpful strategic partners.

Today we are in our 23rd year of women’s travel . And don’t we look good????

Seriously, we are still here with fascinating custom tours, and winning awards. Join us this Summer in Ireland , or for a short 35-40% off Canyon Ranch MASS . luxe stay. Look through our site for solo special cruises to Africa and Europe . Want adventure but in fine hotels: India? S. India? Chile?  Want exotic exciting destinations: Ethiopia ? Easter Island? More trips are on our site.

In 1993, established a travel agency and spent almost 30 years in the industry, sold it in 2017 with 35 FTE. Now turned attention to wine, sheep, and a luxury farm stay in a sixth-generation farming property in southern Tasmania. (Andrew Jones)

In this episode, I interview Andrew Jones, the owner, and operator of Invercarron Wines , a young Tasmanian vineyard producing premium wines. The Jones family have maintained their farming origins and after constantly looking to diversify and grow the farm- Invercarron Wines was born.

Andrew and his wife owned and operated one of the state’s most successful travel agencies for 30 years. After such time, they sold the agency leaving a $5 million revenue and a total of 35 FTE. Jones’ family now turned their attention to wine, sheep and a luxury farm stay in a sixth-generation farming property in southern Tasmania.

Even though Andrew has been doing something different from his former business, he has been enjoying the new environment and he’s been farming his whole life now. For him, success is not all about the financial reward but about how you succeeded in keeping the business for a long period.

This Cast Covers:

  • Spent almost 30 years in the travel industry and shifted to operating a farm with the family.
  • How the family maintained their farming origin, successfully farming the region until its sixth generation.
  • How constantly looking to diversify and grow the farm made them come up with a unique project for the business.
  • Grown the former travel agency with a $5 million revenue and a total of 35 FTE.
  • How a habit of creating a great culture and environment made the staff and clients happy.
  • The importance of respecting the people and the business to grow them successfully.
  • How social media skyrocketed sales and improved marketing strategy.
  • With a fascinating product produced from a young vineyard to unique flavored wines.
