Skillet Announces Day Of Destiny Tour in 2024

Christian rockers Skillet are going on tour this summer , with support on select dates from post-grunge bands Seether and Theory Of A Deadman. The US and Canada tour will support the band’s most recent album Dominion from 2022. Fans can expect the band to play a lot of their hits, such as “Monster” and “Hero”, plus tracks from their newest release.

The Skillet 2024 Tour will launch on May 3 in Prior Lake, Minnesota at Mystic Lake Showroom. Unless the band adds extra dates to the end of the tour, it should wrap up on August 9 in Oak Grove, Kentucky at Oak Grove Gaming Outdoor Amphitheater.

Skillet Announce ‘Day Of Destiny’ UK Tour Dates

Two-time Grammy Award-nominated , multi-platinum Wisconsin quartet Skillet have announced a brand new UK Tour for this April. The ‘Day of Destiny’ tour at Manchester Academy and London’s O2 Kentish Town Forum will see Skillet joined by Like A Storm and very special guests Eva Under Fire.

Skillet – John Cooper [lead vocals/bass], Korey Cooper [guitar/keys], Jen Ledger [drums/vocals], and Seth Morrison [lead guitar] are one of this generation’s most successful rock acts. However, as all classic underdog stories do, it happened quietly under the radar. By 2019, they not only garnered a pair of Grammy Award nods and sold over 12 million albums worldwide, but they also took home a Billboard Music Award for the double-platinum Awake. The breakout single Monster remains “one of the most-streamed rock songs of all-time” with over 3 billion global audio streams.

2016’s Unleashed bowed at #3 on the Billboard Top 200. Going #1 on Rock Radio, the lead single Feel Invincible cracked 150 million global audio streams and went platinum. Meanwhile, the gold-certified Unleashed became their fourth consecutive album to receive either a gold, platinum, or double-platinum status. The new album Dominion: Day of Destiny will be released on Friday 17 February. Featuring five new tracks including upcoming single Psycho In My Head, the new album is a companion to 2022’s Dominion which was one of the highest charting rock and metal albums in the US last year.

Between selling out arenas across four continents, Skillet’s graphic novel, Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel with Z2 Comics, has become the publisher’s best-selling book of all time with follow up graphic novel, Eden II: The Aftermath is out now.

Skillet will be joined by Alt metal/rock New Zealanders Like A Storm from New Zealand Like A Storm and one of rock’s most exciting up and coming bands Eva Under Fire.

Christian squad Skillet will be embarking on a substantial North American tour in 2024 supporting their current album 'Dominion' . Their Day of Destiny Tour takes place in June invading mostly Canadian markets like Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto. Joining the tour in support will be special guests Adelitas Way . The band recently joined Theory of a Deadman in 2023 for their Rock Resurrection Tour along with support from Saint Asonia .

Skillet released their 11th studio album 'Dominion' on January 14th, 2022 via Atlantic Records. The new album follows up 2019's 'Victorious' and 2016's 'Unleashed' which was certified Gold by the RIAA. Also in 2019, the band joined forces with Sevendust for their Victorious War Tour and later teamed up with Alter Bridge for their Victorious Sky Tour . The previous year, they headlined the annual Winter Jam which was joined by Kari Jobe, Building 429, John Crist, NewSong , Jordan Feliz , Nick Hall and Mallary Hope among others.

Live reviews

This was my first concert with Seether and I really enjoyed it. The Huxleys in Berlin is a very cool location. An old theater with much space to mosh and jump.

The opening act with Sons Of Texas was absolutely awesome. Combining metal and the slap bass was just pleasing my ears. Great songs and the power of the band was an amazing opener.

The second opening act didn't even introduced themselves. They were not bad, but after Sons Of Texas their style was more chilly than metal. Kind of a bummer when you we're heated uo by a nice slap bass and frenzy riffs. The effect-tool they used was in one song way to much. The sound technician should have catched that and ease out some highs. They also played metal, but later. It was still good.

Seether was great act. I love the band and their songs. Singing at the top of my lungs and having little left of my voice afterwards, isn't worth mentioning. Seether played some great tracks. The new stuff, classics and was rocking the hall. Even though they hadn't played Careless Whisper, but Broken was stunning. The singer Made a lot pauses between the songs, talking to someone and drinking stuff. That time added up would have been two extra songs. Also the sound technician was probably dozing or staring at girl in the crowd, but he modulated it a bit too much. Also he failed the mics sometimes. You couldn't hear the singer or just barely. Nevertheless, I would go again!

Seether's gig in Patronaat in Haarlem was quite a lot of things. My first time seeing these guys live, and never having watched any live footage of them, I didn't know what to expect. At the end of the concert, I wasn't very pleased though.

They played a variety of songs from all of their albums and time really flew by, because they just kept playing without any large breaks. The drummer and one of the guitarists both had a nice solo. They also added some new songs from their upcoming album, and they chose a selection of slow and steady music to listen to, as well as some songs to make you jump around until your pants fall off.

A thing I really hated was that they didn't communicate with the crowd at all. I think the vocalist once asked how everyone was doing, and that was it. All of the bandmembers were trying to dodge the spotlight, it seemed. The bass player had the potential of communicating with the crowd but except for some funny faces, he didn't do anything spectacular. So in short, Seether was a nice concert with some great hits, both slow and really heavy. It's a shame they didn't communicate with the crowd more, because that would've made the gig a lot more memorable. Seether's good at making their live performances sound like their studio performances, but I'm not sure if this is a thing to be proud of.

I honestly love listening to Seether's studio music but as for them live, they're not the greatest. It was just the overall vibe. They didn't seem excited to play, the songs chosen were not put in the right order to really get the crowd involved. It was just missing that spark that makes or breaks a show. They sounded pretty good, I enjoyed it! But if you didn't know it was Seether (or you're not a fan at all) you would say they were a bad act. I think the problem was they opened with a lot of slower songs and then put the more well known and lively songs at the end. The crowd wasn't that pumped... Overall I love this band but they're not the best live!

Well the actual show was fantastic. As for the band making a connection with the audience they sucked. They never said Hello Dallas or anything. Not even an encore. The lead singer did say thank you once after a song but that was it. No Glad to see Dallas NOTHING! Was very disappointed in the way they treated us. They played and got off the stage. As for the performance they were robots just playi8ng the song list and get off the stage. This was the 2nd concert for seeing Seether and I don't think I will go see them again.

Seether did great. Starset killed it with a unique concert experience.

My only complaint is that the band Through Fire wasn't promoted and didn't play at their set time. The paper in front said they started at 9pm, Starset at 10, and Seether at 11 (I got in through security and checked in at 9:04). Starset started their set from 9:30-10:15, meaning they started Through Fire early. A little bummed but it would have been awesome to see Through Fire live.

Saw these guys at Hellfest 2014 in France. They were fun to watch, but there wasn't a lot of communication or interaction with the crowd. I mean, I'm not there for their snappy banter...I'm there for the music, and they definitely delivered with an excellent quality show. They just seemed like they were sticking with the schedule and had it timed to the second and didn't deviate from anything. But still, they were spot on for sound and music \m/

If only this show wasn't on a Monday night! I still really enjoyed this show a lot more than their one at the Rosemount 3 years ago.

Shaun's voice sounded so much different to the last time I heard them live, so perhaps it was the previous venue which made him sound really nasally?

Had a blast nonetheless...just something about being out in the city in a Monday night and going home at 12:00am that just doesn't sit right with me!

Seether never disappoints, just one hit after another. Rock solid performance.

The venue itself was unfavorable, no seating availabe at all. It was extremely hot and very hard to get shade. Re entry was 10 bucks thats not even fair to ask people to stand 10 hours without being able to go out to rest in their vehicles. Smoking everywhere not confined to one area. And there was a definate need for trash cans!!!!

Awesome show for being in a small venue I'd recommend seeing them live to anyone who's a fan. They don't do like some bands and stop to talk and bs between songs which is what I really enjoyed because most bands tend to overdue The talking. Seether just rocked out even extended some songs with instrumental solos which being a huge music lover and fan of instrumentals to just head bang to was really awesome.

Seether ROCKED as always. Everyone was into it and Shaun always delivers.

The Hampton Beach Club Casino is a great venue as well. It's important that the venue is good or the show suffers.

They just finished a tour the night before with Disturbed and Volbeat. This is the last show until late September so it was kind of special. Being the headliner always adds to the show IMO.

Frank Turner announces summer 2024 UK tour

The tour announcement comes after the singer revealed his attempt to break the record for the most shows played in 24 hours

Frank Turner has announced a UK headlining tour set to begin later this summer.

Turner and his band The Sleeping Souls will kick off the tour at Glastonbury on June 28 where they are set to perform on the Avalon stage. They will then make their way across the UK with stops in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Southampton, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Oxford and Norwich. The headlining dates will wrap up in Suffolk on July 26.

The Meffs will be serving as opening support. A ticket pre-sale will begin tomorrow (April 24) for fans who have pre-ordered Turner’s upcoming album ‘Undefeated’ by 11:59pm today (April 23). The pre-sale will commence at 11am Wednesday April 24.

Speaking about the upcoming dates in a press release, Turner said: “We’re getting closer to the day when ‘Undefeated’ is out in the world. We’ve announced and sold out 14 shows in the UK – all on the same day – so let’s add a few more! I’m bringing the tour, the new album, the Sleeping Souls, and my excellent friends The Meffs, to a string of dates in rooms I know well and love around the UK this July, in between our festival shows.”

The announcement of his UK tour comes after he announced his attempt to break the record for the most shows played in 24 hours in honour of the Music Venue Trust .

In celebration of his upcoming 3,000th show and the release of his 10th album ‘Undefeated’ on May 3, Turner will attempt to play 15 shows of minimum 20-minute sets on May 4. Sponsored by taxi app FREENOW, Turner will travel circa 500 miles to play shows from Liverpool to Southampton.

Turner says of his challenge: “With nearly 3000 shows under my belt, I’ve never been one to do things by halves or shirk a challenge – I once played all 50 American states in 50 days, for goodness sake. For the release of my tenth studio album, ‘Undefeated’, I will be making an attempt at a world record: the most number of shows in different cities in 24 hours.

“It’s not just self-promotion either,” he added. “We’re working with 13 independent record shops and 15 independent grassroots music venues for the shows, highlighting two bits of the infrastructure of the underground that I care about most. It’s going to be tough, but hopefully fun too. Come down for a show!”

Meanwhile, Turner  announced his new record in January this year , sharing it was about “survival and defiance, but also one with a sense of fun and self-deprecation.”

“19 years into my solo career, I’m still standing up and putting out some of my best work. It feels good.”

He also spoke to  NME  about the importance of going to gigs  after Covid-19, saying: “We’re trying to remind people that going to independent gigs is fun, and teaching the kids who came of age in 2020 or 2021 that this is a cool thing to do. My role in this is twofold – to shout about it whenever I can and be positive and say it’s a really fucking cool thing to go to indie gigs.

“Don’t fucking go to an arena gig where you get charged nine quid for a beer!”

Previously, the  MVT awarded Turner an Outstanding Achievement Award  for hosting 27 shows which were instrumental in directly enabling grassroots music venues to survive the  coronavirus  crisis, having raised nearly £300,000.
