Event Details
Country superstar and reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year Luke Combs will embark on an unprecedented world tour next year, including a headline show at London’s The O2 on Thursday 19 October 2023.
The upcoming tour is just the latest milestone in an already monumental career for Combs, whose acclaimed new album, Growin’ Up , debuted at #1 on Billboard ’s Top Country Albums chart earlier this year. Out now, Growin’ Up was produced by Combs, Chip Matthews and Jonathan Singleton and is his third studio album following 2019’s 3x Platinum What You See is What You Get and his 4x Platinum debut, This One’s For You .
Combs continues to break records in the UK, with Growin’ Up debuting in the Top 10 albums chart, and his previous albums, This One’s For You and What You See Is What You Get being certified Gold, making Combs the first male American country artist to have their first two albums reach this threshold in the UK. During his last performance in the UK headlining C2C Festival at The O2, he treated fans to an incredible surprise, bringing out his friend Ed Sheeran to join him on a performance of Sheeran’s hit single “Drive.”
Combs (the reigning CMA Awards winner of Entertainer of the Year) has been nominated again for country music’s highest honour. This year marks his fifth nomination for Male Vocalist, a trophy he’s claimed twice. Growin’ Up earns him his second nomination for Album of the Year, which he co-produced. Combs won Album of the Year in 2020 and, with this year’s nods, he has received 18 total nominations since 2017.
A member of the Grand Ole Opry and a 6x CMA, 3x ACM, 3x Billboard Music Award-winner, Combs is in the midst of a record-setting and historic series of years. His previous release, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get , debuted at #1 on the all-genre B illboard 200 chart as well as Billboard ’s Top Country Albums chart. With the record Combs reached #1 on Rolling Stone ’s Top 200 Albums chart, Top 100 Songs chart and Artists 500 chart—the first country artist ever to lead all three charts in the same week and first to top the Artists 500. He also made history as the first artist ever to have their first two studio albums spend 25 weeks or more at #1 on Billboard ’s Top Country Albums chart—breaking Taylor Swift’s previously held record at 24 weeks.

Luke Combs, The O2, London live review
Luke Combs’ rise to country music superstardom has been nothing short of meteoric. Since he broke through with his debut single ‘Hurricane’ in 2017 – the first of 16 Billboard Country Airplay number ones under his belt – he’s released four smash hit albums ( most recently ‘Gettin’ Old’ which came out this March) and won over fans with his powerful vocals, 90s-influenced sound and relatable lyrics. Now he’s back on this side of the pond for the UK run of his world tour, finishing with two sold-out nights at The O2 in London where he first made his UK debt at Country to Country back in 2018.
After a raucous intro of ‘Sweet Caroline’ that got the whole crowd fired up and singing along at full volume, Combs arrived on stage around 9PM accompanied by his seven-piece band. The audience roared their approval as he came out to a wicked guitar riff and drum roll combination, and he responded by sticking his tongue out before launching into ‘Lovin’ On You’ from his 2019 album ‘What You See Is What You Get’. It was a really playful, high energy start to the set that showed off the power in his vocal as well as his distinctive rasp and the 90s country influences that are so predominant in his music. You knew straight away you were going to be in for a fun evening and could just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
Over the next 90 minutes Combs took the crowd through all four of his albums, running the gamut from the driving, rock-influenced ‘Hannah Ford Road’ to the biting, punchy ‘Cold As You’ and ‘Houston, We Got A Problem’, which was packed with lyrical detail and a heartfelt lyric that belied its bombastic delivery. Combs also got plenty of chances to show off his vocal chops throughout, whether that was belting out a huge note at the end of ‘One Number Away’ after leading the first crowd singalong of the night (not that they needed any help with that as the whole of the O2 was singing every word start to finish!), delivering a fiery version of ‘She Got The Best Of Me’ or the raw power of ‘Must’ve Never Met You’ which featured a dramatic blackout moment midway through.
For me some of the standout moments came during the slower numbers. The traditional-sounding ‘Love You Anyway’ was an early highlight, with some beautiful fiddle playing that complimented the richer tones of Combs’ voice perfectly, whilst ‘Going, Going, Gone’ had a wistful, introspective feel about it and ‘Doin’ This’ was full of conviction and passion – you truly believe Combs would be performing ‘in some no-name town’, even without him namechecking the O2 during the song! Elsewhere, ‘Beautiful Crazy’ and ‘Forever After All’ provided warm, romantic moments that lightened the set up a little, the heavier take on debut single ‘Hurricane’ gave it a great refreshing twist, and fan favourite ‘Fast Car’ was understandably one of the biggest songs of the night. Combs has really made the classic track his own and his stripped-back approach puts a huge emphasis on the tenderness in his vocal as he delivers the lyrics.
Another thing which stood out to me was how much Combs has grown into the way he delivers his performance. He peppered the set with stories from across his career, and could be seen throughout the show pacing back and forth across the stage as well as thanking the audience for coming out and ‘spending your hard-earned money’ to see the show. At times he almost looked like he couldn’t believe he was playing to 20,000 people and it was so nice to see just how much he loves the UK crowd and that the feeling is very much mutual. I also loved the band introduction medley midway through, which saw band members Jamie, Corey and Tyler deliver their takes on ‘Dust On The Bottle’, ‘Meet In The Middle’ and ‘When I Was Your Man’ respectively. It was a really nice way to show off their skills (how Tyler in particular hasn’t been snapped up for his own recording contract yet I don’t know, because Combs wasn’t wrong when he said he could sing!) and I liked that Combs did something different rather than just giving them a shout-out at the end.
Combs closed out his main set with the one-two-three punch of ‘1, 2 Many’ – which included his usual trademark of shotgunning a beer midway through before throwing it into the crowd – the cheeky, uptempo ‘When It Rains It Pours’ and a rowdy rendition of ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’. On the latter song, he encouraged the audience to ‘give it everything you’ve got left in the tank’, and they absolutely responded with gusto, belting out the song and practically taking the roof off the arena! He waved to fans as he left the stage and they demanded his return almost instantly, loudly chanting his name and stomping to summon him back.
For his encore, Combs kicked off with the ballad ‘Better Together’. It’s a really sweet, touching song that’s full of affection and you could spot plenty of couples in the audience swaying along together as he sang it, accompanied simply by Corey on piano. He followed that with ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’, which showed off a slinkier side to him we don’t often get to here and got an enormous crowd reaction as well. After finishing the song, he could be seen signing everything from posters to hats and even an Irish flag somebody handed to him, before waving goodbye and promising “we’ll see y’all real soon” as the band played an extended outro.
Overall Luke Combs delivered an excellent performance that showed why he’s become the biggest star in country music as well as being able to cross over into the mainstream. He’s got one of the most powerful voices in the genre and every time I see him live he seems to come on leaps and bounds as an entertainer. It takes real skill to hold an audience of 20,000 people in the palm of your hand without flashy sets or big performances, and yet he does it with absolute aplomb and kept the entire O2 completely enthralled throughout. If I have any small criticisms, it’s that the set felt a little ballad heavy in the middle for me – although to be fair given those are his big hits it’s kind of inevitable he needs to get them in there somehow – and after the high of ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’ the encore seemed a little off (personally I’d have swapped it round with ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’). However, the whole set felt like a complete triumph and it seems like from here he can only go stratospheric – could we be looking at a UK stadium tour next time he crosses the pond? We’ll just have to wait and see…

49 Winchester Announced as Support for Luke Combs’ UK and Europe Tour Dates
By Maxim Mower

Luke Combs has unveiled the opening acts for his blockbuster 2023 world tour, with Appalachian country-folk prodigies, 49 Winchester , set to join him on all of his European dates.
Combs will embark on his European leg on September 30, with shows lined up in the UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, France and more.
Also supporting Combs on his performances in the UK and Europe will be Ray Fulcher, Drew Parker and James McNair, who will play as part of a special pre-show writer's round.
Given the intensity of Combs’ high-energy live shows, starting off the set with a drawn-in writer's round will be the perfect way to easy attendees into a night of stellar music.
UK country fans will get a taste of the electricity 49 Winchester bring to their live shows at the upcoming C2C Festival in London.
The band will be performing a number of times across the weekend.
The Virginia-based outfit will perform an array of hits from their diverse repertoire, including ‘Russell County Line’, ‘Annabel’, ‘Long Hard Life’ and ‘Damn Darlin’’.
Ray Fulcher serves as another popular choice as support among Luke Combs’ fanbase, given the fact that the Georgia native has co-written a range of Combs’ hits over the years.
Fulcher's co-writes include ‘Even Though I'm Leaving’, ‘When It Rains It Pours’, ‘Lovin’ On You’, ‘Does to Me’, ‘Moon Over Mexico’, ‘Out There’ and numerous others.
Drew Parker is another songwriter-turned-solo-artist, with Parker having penned Luke Combs fan-favourites such as ‘Forever After All’, ‘1, 2 Many’, ‘Nothing Like You’ and ‘Lonely One’.
Another up-and-coming artist, James McNair, will complete Luke Combs’ European writer's round line-up.
As part of the announcement, Luke Combs revealed he'd also be making more spaces available to his world tour shows, due to many of them selling out shortly after tickets were made available.

Exclusive: Luke Combs Kicks Off 'Growin' Up And Gettin' Old' Tour With His Iconic Miller Lite Hat Collection
Combs gave us all the juicy details on his tour and awards nominations!
"I’m just excited to be touring again. My crew had a well-deserved break and I enjoyed time off with my family, but I love playing shows—that’s my favorite part of this whole thing, so I’ll love being back out on the road and getting to play two shows a week," Combs told Country Living.
Combs Shares the Motivation Behind Gettin' Old
A lot has changed for Combs since his country music debut, including marrying his wife Nicole , welcoming two sons into the world, and amassing millions of fans. As he's growing up and getting older, his music has evolved from light-hearted party anthems and breakup songs to more heartfelt and mature country ballads (don't worry, there are still a few party songs in the mix).
"I mean, just as I get older and as things in my life change—being married and having two boys—my music seems to follow that in more of a serious aspect when it comes to what I’m singing about. Of course still some party songs thrown in there, but definitely a lot more songs with a deeper meaning," Combs said of his musical evolution.
Life on the road looks a little different now for the husband and father of two, and he admits that he values family time on tour above all else. "I bring my wife, Nicole, when I can. That’s the best thing. And my dog sometimes. And of course the boys when we can. Anytime they’re out or my parents and family, the road feels like home," Combs explained.
He's Still the Same Luke Combs We Know and Love
While Luke Combs may be growing up, there's a few things that haven't changed about the "Beautiful Crazy" singer: his love for Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car," trucker hats, and Miller Lite.
Of course, we had to confirm whether "Fast Car" made the cut for the "Growin' Up and Gettin' Old" Tour setlist. Fans, breathe a sign of relief: "Yes, we'll definitely be playing 'Fast Car.' Tracy's song has really resonated with my fans so I love playing it for them as much as I love the songs myself," Combs said. Now that that important fact is cleared up, we can move on to Combs's other mainstays: his hats and his beer.
Luke Combs's Hat + Miller Lite Obsession: A Series
It's rare to catch Luke Combs without a trucker hat on his head, whether he's on the red carpet, performing, or out on the town. Seriously, we think he may have an entire closet devoted to hats, but possibly the largest portion of his collection rep his favorite beer, Miller Lite. "I keep it casual most of the time. I love Miller hats. I have a huge collection of them and wear them all the time," Luke admitted.
Creating a Miller Lite x Luke Combs Tour Trucker hat was an absolute no-brainer. "Miller came to me about creating my own—it was perfect. We made sure to add elements of my album art and Miller Lite's design throughout. I really love the design that we pulled together," Combs continued.
Not only can you rock the same hat as Luke Combs for the price of a Miller Lite 24 pack, the hat could also end up being your ticket to a Luke Combs concert! When you buy The Miller Lite x Luke Combs Trucker (available April 17 at shop.millerlite.com ), you're entered to win two tickets to a Luke Combs concert, beer money, and two tickets plus free travel to Luke's Bootlegger Bonfire Weekend.
"I love Miller Lite and it's as simple as that. Miller Lite has been my go-to beer for years now and I love working with them to bring more beer and more music to fans," Combs concluded.

Luke Combs is taking his fans on an emotional journey with the setlist for his 2024 Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour .
The country hitmaker is opening the show with his song “Must’ve Never Met You.” Although it’s a song about loving someone with a broken heart, it feels like a love song to the crowd — as if he’s starting off by saying this matters to him. Each show and each moment with his fans isn’t something he takes for granted.
Similar to his World Tour in 2023 , Combs is kicking things off each night with several singalong hits, courting the audience before gently leading them into more sentimental tracks.
Fans can expect to hear his new dad song “ The Man He Sees in Me ,” which he wrote after becoming a father.
What Songs Does Luke Combs Cover on Tour?
During this year’s Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old Tour, Combs will continue to cover a handful of songs that have become staples at his shows: This includes Ed Sheeran ‘s tracks “Dive,” Combs’ wildly successful rendition of Tracy Chapman ‘s “Fast Car” and Brooks & Dunn ‘s “Brand New Man.” The “Where the Wild Things Are” singer joined the duo for a new version of the track for the Reboot album.
He’s also sprinkling in some mini-covers during his band introductions, covering portions of Shania Twain, Train and Dierks Bentley.
