Amboseli national park is a famous Kenya safari destination famous for hosting large population of elephants with impressive ivory and spectacular backdrop of snowcapped mountain Kilimanjaro .

Accommodation at Kibo safari camp 

Kibo camp comprises of 73 self-contained tents used in offering accommodation to the camp’s visitors, these rooms are categorized as single, double, triple and family rooms. Each of these room contains a custom designed beds made from Local materials such as bush logs for the comfort of the guest. These rooms are situated in the tents and each tent features an en-suite bathroom with flush toilets, showers and wash basins. The showers are for both hot and cold waters. 

Single tent

Single tent is for an occupancy of an individual and features a single spacious bed  

Double tent  

Double tent is for an occupancy of 2 people and most suitable for a couple as it comprises of 1 extra-large double bed. 

Triple tent 

Triple tent is for an occupancy of 3 individuals and the tent comprises of 3 single beds, this room is suitable of a group of 3 on a visit to Amboseli national park . 

Family tent 

Family tent is a suitable accommodation for a family of a group of visitors, this tent is for an occupancy of 4 people and it features 2 single beds and 1 large bed.

Kibo camp features a lounge and a bar, the lounge is a perfect spot to relax while being entertained by a television set with satellite channels.

The camp offers dining in an open terraced restaurant set under acacia trees overlooking the majestic mountain Kilimanjaro, fruits and vegetable served at the camp are freshly hand-picked from the camp’s farm and a variety of cuisines are offered at the restaurant. Special meal requirements are offered upon request for vegetarians and for sick.

Cultural tours at Kibo safari camp takes the camp’s guests on a visit to the Maasai village, these tours is an opportunity for experiencing the Maasai local way of life while visiting the Manyattas (local houses in circular form built using local materials)

The camp offers game drives to the fragile ecosystem of Amboseli national park, the park is a habitat to over 50 mammal species and it is a famous destination for impressive sights of animals on a game drive. Game drives in Amboseli national park offer sights of many animals such as large herds of elephants, lions, buffaloes and many more.

How to get Kibo safari camp 

Getting to Kibo safari camp is done on several route such as Emali route and Via Namanga. 

Emali route : Emali route branches from Mombasa route to your right on Loitoktok road at Emali just after the flyover, continue to straight to Kimana town and after Kimana town turn on the right leading to Kimana gate. When you reach Kimana gate, do not enter the park, there is a signage of Kibo camp just on your left. 

Note : when using Emali route, avoid using irimito gate 

Via Namanga (Kenya/Tanzania border) : Using the route it is a drive of about 4 hours from Nairobi of about 278 square kilometers.
