The Best Things to do in Belgravia, London’s Beautiful Neighbourhood

Best things to do in Belgravia London

Take a walk through one of London’s finest neighbourhoods with our inside guide to the best things to do in Belgravia.

The beautiful streets of Belgravia…

The best Things to do in Belgravia, London

For a soothing Sunday afternoon, London’s Belgravia is hard to beat. This beautiful little neighbourhood manages to make the city’s streets shine, in muted rainbows of pastel pretty pinks and lilacs, with memories of cornflower blue. Flowers, real and artistic, tumble around doorframes and tiny cobbled streets lead to sweet little mews just waiting for their Hollywood moment.

Just across from the workday grit and grind of Victoria, with its hub station to the south and coach station to everywhere, the neighbourhood of Belgravia provides a tonic. An elderflower cordial kind of moment in the midst of a light summer’s day.

But enough of my fanciful word salad. Let me bring you some concrete ideas on the best things to do in Belgravia, London.

UK - England - London - Belgravia - Errol Douglas Floral Display

Belgravia. Where everywhere is beautiful.

Wait, where is Belgravia?

Belgravia describes the neighbourhood between Hyde Park, Victoria Station and Buckingham Palace. Some extend the description to Sloane Square and Knightsbridge, but that’s cheating, just a little. Belgravia is Belgravia.

Disclosure: I stayed at The Goring Hotel on a complimentary basis for review purposes. As ever, as always, I kept the right to write what I like. Otherwise, what’s the point? If you book or buy through any of the links on this page, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Cheers!

Where to stay in Belgravia

When it comes to where to stay in Belgravia, there’s really only one answer.

It’s the choice Kate Middleton made on the night before she married Wills. She booked into the only hotel in the world with a Royal Warrant (and, incidentally, a royal suite with a view of Buckingham Palace.)

The hotel is The Goring and it’s a virtual museum of 20th century hospitality. Frequent former guests including the Queen Mother, Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill.

But what’s a real stay like these days? Let’s talk about that.

Staying here is like staying in a slice of British history. It’s been a favourite with kings, queens and prime ministers since it first opened in 1910.

With walls decorated in silver leaf and silk, a roaring fire and scarlet-sleeved footmen trained at Buckingham Palace, The Goring combines comfort with a sense of tradition in the heart of Belgravia.

As a member of the Pride of Britain Hotels collection , The Goring welcomes you into a world of understated glamour. With impeccable service and manners.

Inside the room I stayed in at The Goring Hotel

Each of the 69 rooms has its own unique décor. Styles are classical, with black and white marble bathrooms. You can expect a full turndown service and high quality fabrics.

  • I loved the lighting options: Bright, Calm, Cosy and OOh. Plus, a single master off switch. All hotels should have these!

The largest privately owned garden in London (other than Buckingham Palace)

The Goring has the largest privately owned garden in London, apart from Buckingham Palace, and they love to use it. Summer brings family themed events and pop-up bars, while one of the delights of afternoon tea in the Veranda involves the view of restful green.

The Wallpaper

Whoever thought I’d be writing and you’d be reading about wallpaper? But The Goring Hotel is the master of this, with silver leaf and silk techniques that require craftsmanship from China and which can only be found elsewhere in London in, yes, Buckingham Palace again.

  • Did you know? The pig in black tie is thought to represent the family who own The Goring and their love for hospitality. The lion & unicorn motif was completed by the Duchess of Cambridge to represent the coat of arms.

The Veranda and Afternoon Tea

The light and airy Veranda has a new lease of life after the pandemic restrictions closed down its seafaring ways. Now, while you’ll still find evidence of aquatic elements, like lobster pots and mermaids, it offers food throughout the day and specialises in Afternoon Tea.

Gorgeous Things to do in Belgravia, London

Belgravia is an area to enjoy just being alive rather than racing to get things done. Wander through her beautiful streets and delight in some of the best treats in London.

UK - England - London - Belgravia - Peggy Porschen people eating cakes outside-1

Elizabeth Street in Belgravia. Possibly the best dressed street in London.

Enjoy Elizabeth Street

Described as an instagrammer’s paradise, this lovely little spot in Belgravia will melt even the most cynical of hearts. Elizabeth Street runs from the grime of Victoria coach station to the flutter of floral facades that accompany the small shops and cafés which make the place famous.

Some shops change their floral displays every quarter, while others get creative for almost every high day and holiday. This gentle version of street art is always in flux and a walk along here is good for the soul.

Drink ale at the Thomas Cubitt pub

The elegant Thomas Cubitt pub is a Georgian institution with outdoor seating and more space indoors and upstairs. It’s a great place to kill some time if you’re waiting to travel from Victoria station.

Sip Afternoon Tea at the Goring Hotel

Afternoon Tea is an iconic thing to do in London, wherever you go. But if you’re looking for Afternoon Tea in Belgravia, then The Goring is where to go.

Their jubilee celebrations promise a royal-themed tea and treats spread but even on a normal day, it’s billed as quite the treat.

The most famous cupcakes in the land

Wander around the outside of private gardens to the elite…

Walk around Belgravia’s Squares

When you need to burn off the calories from all those cupcakes, it’s time to walk around Belgravia, glimpsing at the inner sanctums of the private gardens.

Belgrave Square Gardens covers 4.5 hectares and dates back to 1867. Designed by George Basevi and planted by Thomas Cubitt, today’s garden merges leafy plane trees with tumbling wisteria, a tennis court and a children’s play area. Trouble is, only local residents can go in. But you can look out for the statue of Sir Robert Grosvenor by Jonathan Wylder on the edge of the garden.

Another part of Thomas Cubitt’s 19th century planning is the nearby Eaton Square Gardens , rectangular gardens arranged one after the other in the heart of Belgravia.

UK - England - London - Belgravia - Motcomb Street

You won’t go hungry on Motcomb Street…

Dine well on Motcomb Street

Whenever you want to give your tastebuds a treat, head to dine on Motcomb Street. Just as pretty as Elizabeth Street, Motcomb specialises in fine food.

Treat yourself at Rococo Chocolates , either with a homemade truffle or mug of piping hot chocolate.

UK - England - London - Belgravia - Rococo Chocolates

Belgravia: great for chocolate

Raise the chocolate stakes even further with a visit to Pierre Hermé, also on Motcomb Street. It’s absolutely one of the best things to do in Belgravia.

Oh, until you head to the Fine Cheese Company and sample some slices there.

Another institution in Belgravia is the classic French bistrot, Le Poule au Pot. Complete with a beautiful outdoor terrace and indoor candlelit intimacy, it’s another way to nurture your waistline in Belgravia.

Eccleston Yards: the cooler side of Belgravia

Play it cool in Eccleston Yards

For a slightly different vibe to the white stucco and inky black railing look, take a tour into Eccleston Yards. Mixing brown bricks and twinkling lights beneath an open sky, you’ll find yoga classes, independent shops, cherry blossom, cafes, and sunshine yellow deckchairs. The zone includes London’s first meditation centre and even an open air market on Sundays.

Read the Mews

One of the best things to do in Belgravia on a slightly cloudy afternoon is to wander through the cosy-cute mews of London, camera in hand. Look out for:

  • Kinnerton Street
  • Halkin Mews
  • Groom Place

Things to do at the edge of Belgravia, London

When it comes to curating a guide to the best things to do in Belgravia, some disagree on what counts as Belgravia. So, for purists, the following may technically be on the edge rather in the heart of the Belgravia neighbourhood.

But why split hairs when you could be having fun instead?!

Shop in Knightsbridge

As the home of flagship stores Harrods and Harvey Nichols (that’s Harvey Nick’s to Londoners) Knightsbridge is the home of shopping in London.

Even if there’s nothing you need, it’s worth visiting to admire the artistry in the Food Halls and seasonal gift displays.

Listen to music in Cadogan Hall

Home of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this Chelsea institution is a 950 capacity concert hall that will enrich your ears.

Munch at a Food Market

One of London’s greatest pleasures involves roaming around her food markets. Each has a character of its own. Near Belgravia, look out for:

  • Enjoy the freshness of Pimlico’s Farmers Market every Saturday, come rain or shine.
  • Also on Saturdays, the Duke of York Square Market r ustles up fine foods, from dumplings to sourdough.

Take a food tour

With so many great foodie spots in and around Belgravia, it’s the perfect place for a food tour.

Timings change frequently, so check out this collection of food tours on Get Your Guide for up to date London food tour listings.

Watch something at the Royal Court Theatre

Radical thinking and provocative theatre. If you have the energy for that, then the Royal Court Theatre is the place for you.

Beyond Belgravia?

Beyond Belgravia

With so much royal talk in this blog post on Belgravia, you have to walk just a little out of town. To…

Buckingham Palace and the Birdcage walk

Yes, it’s all true. The gates. The balcony. The guards.

Standing in front of Buckingham Palace can feel surreal, particularly on one of the many days when the royals are preparing to head out for royal duties and the surrounding police on horseback seem alert and almost edgy.

A lovely way to come back down to earth while heading to more of London’s famous landmarks is to follow the flowers and grassy banks fo the Birdcage walk.

Head along the beautiful St James’s park to eventually pop out at Westminster.

Travel Tips for Belgravia

Belgravia is not really a place to visit for must-see attractions. It’s a place to visit to appreciate excellence, in food, in shops and in design. It’s a lovely way to spend a mellow Sunday afternoon and to dream of the diplomat lifestyle.

When to visit Belgravia

Belgravia is beautiful all year round, thanks to the white stucco architecture and creative floral displays. But if you dream of sitting on the streets to make the most of those outdoor spaces then plan to visit between May and September but never rule out rain!

How to get to Belgravia

You can reach Belgravia on the Piccadilly Line through either the Knightsbridge or Hyde Park Corner stations. Alternatively, take the District & Circle to Victoria or Sloane Square.

If you’re coming from further afield, take the overland trains from the south into Victoria or the coaches into Victoria Coach station.

How to get around Belgravia

Belgravia is a small neighbourhood and one of the joys of visiting is that you can wander around yourself.

Is Belgravia safe?

With all those embassies and dignitaries around, Belgravia is probably one of the safest neighbourhoods in London.

Belgravia, London – An Insider’s Guide

Love This? Save and Share!

A haven for the city’s well-heeled residents, Belgravia is brimming with luxury shops, cafes and age old residences that feel like a London of days gone by.

Boutique shops, fine dining establishments and trendy art galleries come together to make this one of the most exclusive areas of London.

Belgravia. I’m never sure whether I love it or if all that prettiness and elegance leaves me a little cold.

If there’s one thing you can’t deny – this is one of London’s most attractive neighbourhoods.

The elegant streets of Belgravia are lined with terraced townhouses, some of which are over a century old, manicured garden squares and international embassies.

You could easily spend a day walking around the immaculate residential streets and high-end shopping lanes.

Don’t forget your camera either, because it also has some of the most attractive shop fronts and mouth-watering bakeries that have products that are more like works of art than pastries.

History of Belgravia

Peek into the past.

Mews House Belgravia

Belgravia started from more modest beginnings in the 17 th century as a desolate pasture known as the Five Fields. It was notoriously dangerous as a place where thieves and highway men dominated, and the common people avoided.

The Grosvenor family inherited the huge swathe of land thanks to a marriage between Sir Thomas Grosvenor and Mary Davies. However, it wasn’t until King George IV decided to make Buckingham House his permanent palace that the Grosvenor’s turned their attention to developing Belgravia in the early 1800s.

A housing boom after the Napoleonic Wars helped, and a vision for the area as a high-class neighbourhood took shape.

The family commissioned architect and builder Thomas Cubitt to build exclusive townhouses on the land and to this day, his designs are considered the most fashionable and highly sought-after properties in London.

Embassies and diplomatic offices began to congregate in the area, as did foreign businessmen and politicians and its continued this status as an upscale area to live in ever since. Since the mid-1800s it’s been home to poets, scientists, actors, entrepreneurs, socialites and business magnates.

Things to do in Belgravia

Delving into Belgravia’s unmissable spots.

Cadogan Hall

Cadogan hall

5 Sloane Terrace, Belgravia

Cadogan Hall is a concert venue with a 950-seat capacity.

It’s a beautiful and intimate setting to attend a live music performance and they have regular shows from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the first London orchestra to have a permanent home, to ballet, rock and jazz. It’s just two minutes walk from Sloane Square tube station.

The Royal Court Theatre

Royal Court Theatre

Sloane Square, Belgravia

The Royal Court Theatre is a non-commercial venue that is dedicated to showcasing new work by undiscovered or established writers from the UK and abroad. It’s been described as one of the most important theatres in Europe for supporting some of the best wordsmiths going around.

Belgrave Square Garden

Belgrave Square Garden

This slice of green surrounded by gorgeous townhouses is the heart of Belgravia. The two hectares of gardens were designed by George Basevi and Thomas Cubitt in 1826 and it contains statues of famous individuals, pergolas and a tennis court.

The only (significant) down-side is that it’s not a public garden and you have to have a key, . Still, you can satisfy yourself by taking a peek as you stroll on by.

Ministry of Nomads Gallery

10 Little Chester St, Belgravia

This boutique gem of an art gallery was established over 10 years ago and hand picks some of the newest and most exciting work from artists around the world.

It describes itself as a ‘new sustainable art system’ by encouraging innovative art through new mediums in its artists award program.

However, stepping in the gallery for a browse is sure to spark some inspiration with its variety of paintings, sculptures, sketches and more.

Eating & Drinking in Belgravia

My favourite places to eat and drink in Belgravia.

Rococo Chocolates

Peggy Porschen

Peggy Porschen Belgravia

116 Ebury Street, Belgravia

Get your camera ready, because this café and bakery was made for Instagram. The exterior is completely painted in baby pink with flowers reaching across the entrance.

Once inside, you’ll find fluffy cupcakes and extravagant cakes. I have to be honest – the quality of the cakes can be hit and miss (the words dry and overpriced have been bandied about) but it’s up to you.

Their café is also open for breakfast and lunch.

Dominque Ansel Bakery

17-21 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia

No guide to Belgravia can get away without mentioning this bakery. This world-renowned New York City bakery opened in London in 2016 and attracts crowds of people dying to try the famous cronut , a half croissant and half donut.

They also have sandwiches, cookies and frozen s’mores, but it’s really the cronut people come for. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but it is Belgravia after all.

The Thomas Cubitt

44 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia

Named after one of London’s most famous architects, this gastropub has become one of Belgravia’s favourite dining destinations. It strikes a perfect balance between modern and traditional with oak floors and an elegant dining room with outdoor seating for those warmer sunny days.

Rococo Chocolate

Rococo Chocolate

5 Motcomb St, Belgravia

This chocolatier and café have offered some of the finest custom-crafted treats since the early 1980s. For any sweet tooth, this is your dream place. Step in for their chocolate making workshops or take a seat in their secret garden courtyard for one of the best hot chocolates you’ve likely ever had.

The Blue Bar

The Berkeley, Wilton Pl, Belgravia

Certainly, one of the more exclusive and well-known bars in Belgravia, you’ll often find celebrity faces at The Blue Bar with its elaborate cocktail menu. It’s extremely striking in its blue and art deco interior, although like the rest of the neighbourhood, it’s undoubtedly pricey.

The Gloucester Pub

187 Sloane St, Belgravia

For something more down-to-earth, you can’t beat this pub licensed in 1835. It’s the only pub on fashionable Sloane Street and is a traditional and typical London pub offering good cask ales and beers from around the world. You can also get everyday pub meals from fish and chips to pork belly.

The Star Tavern

What makes a great pub? Well it’s obviously got to have some great beers, and probably some great food. It should also have a good bit of history. The Star Tavern has all three, and the history by the bucketload.

This is the spot where one of history’s greatest heists was plotted – The Great Train Robbery to be precise. That’s where an 18-man gang made off with what would amount to about £40 million in today’s money and fled to Mexico to escape the law.

The Star Tavern today is a much more friendly place though. No master criminals here, just a good bunch of locals enjoying the cask ales for which the pub has won several awards.

Belgravia is posh, and when there it’s wise to follow the way of the locals. In doing so your quest for a good lunch will likely end you up at The Thomas Cubitt , an eccentric Belgravia watering hole with a touch of exclusivity about it.

They do an excellent menu of food in the extra-swanky upstairs dining room and the more traditional downstairs pub, and great beers to boot – but don’t have too many, this is quite a respectable institution.

The place gets its name from the man who designed most of Belgravia – not a bad way to be immortalised.

If posh pubs and traditional English food aren’t your thing, how about some top-notch Italian? Olivio does some excellent Italian.

The food is just the sort of unfussy, rustic fare you’d want when eating dishes from the boot-shaped nation. Sardinia is the region they draw their inspiration from, so expect some excellent seafood dishes.

You can pretty much take a random stab at the menu here and not be disappointed with what they bring out for you. Whatever you pick, it’s best enjoyed with something from their wine collection.

Top Shopping Spots

Motcomb Street

Harvey Nichols

109-125 Knightsbridge, Belgravia

A true London shopping institution, Harvey Nichols has been trading for well over a century and Belgravia is home to its flagship store.

This huge department store is over eight floors of fashion, beauty and home collections. If all that shopping has you exhausted, then there’s also a place to stop and have a stylish meal, because why wouldn’t there be?

The Fifth Floor Bar and Café has an incredible roof terrace along with tasty snacks and drinks.

Motcomb Street

This skinny, paved street seems sort of like a hidden treasure when you first find it, but it’s also known as one of the best places in Belgravia to find elegant boutique stores and restaurants.

The picturesque shop fronts are home to luxury fashion retailers like Christian Louboutin and art studios like Osborne Gallery.

You’ll also find some of the best food stores and dining options here too like Rococo Chocolate and The Fine Cheese Co.

Elizabeth Street

Elizabeth Street

If you want to find Belgravia’s most sophisticated and visually stunning shops, then head to Elizabeth Street.

Here you’ll find some of London’s finest boutiques and artisan producers and there’s certainly no doubt of its exclusive vibe. From the specialist perfume shop, Les Senteurs, to ultra-fashionable jewellery at Vickisarge, there’s plenty to splash your cash on.

Even if you’re just window shopping though, this street is totally instagrammable.

With shops like Jo Loves perfume store completely adorned with pink and red roses and of course, the famous Peggy Porschen bakery on the corner, in its baby pink exterior, you’ll want to stop and take a photo with every step.

Pimlico Road Farmers’ Market

Orange Square, Pimlico Road, Belgravia

This weekly farmers’ market on a Saturday morning takes over the pleasant Orange Square from 9am until 2pm.

There are around 25 vendors every week selling everything from organic fruit and vegetables to fresh juices to smoked fish to homemade bread.

Remarkably, everything is grown, cooked or fished within a 100 mile radius.

Christmas Markets

Pimlico Road & Elizabeth Street

Belgravia is home to two of the best Christmas markets in London.

In December, Pimlico Road and Elizabeth Street are packed full of street food and market stalls as well as festivities like carols and Father Christmas visits.

The shop fronts also live up to their stunning picturesque designs and decorate their shops and windows with Christmas themed displays and lights.

  • Tooting can be reached from a number of different stations. Tooting station itself, Tooting Broadway, and Tooting Bec. Check your route before heading down to make sure you find the most convenient route.
  • There are plenty of hidden-gem Indian restaurants in this part of London. Get adventurous and try to find one yourself (you can hardly go wrong) or head to Vijayakrishna for some authentic Kerelan curry.

3. Payment Terms

3.1  The Customer shall:

(a) pay 100% (“Full Payment”), or such other percentage notified to the Customer (“ Deposit ”), of the total amount payable for the Services (as detailed in the Confirmation Invoice) no later than the payment date stated in the Confirmation Invoice, and;

4.3  Admission to an Event is subject to the terms of admission of the Organiser. Please check with them directly.

5. Event Alteration, Postponement or Cancellation

5.1  WDO does not host or organise events and gives no guarantee that any Event will take place. WDO shall not be in breach of the Contract by virtue of the cancellation, postponement or abandonment of any Event.

5.2  If an Event is postponed and re-arranged for an alternative date (“ Re-arranged Event ”), WDO may, at its sole discretion, either:

(a) transfer the Customer’s Booking Request to the Re-Arranged Event, in which case this Contract (and the Parties’ obligations under it) shall be unaffected and, to the extent necessary to give effect to the terms of the Contract, the Booking Request shall be read as referring to the Re-arranged Event; or

(b) terminate the Contract with immediate effect by giving written notice to the Customer and the Customer shall receive a refund which shall be limited to the amount received by WDO from the Supplier less any booking/and or handling fees.

5.3  If an Event is cancelled (and not rescheduled), WDO may, at its sole discretion, either:

(a) offer you an alternative event of similar nature and value (“ Substitute Event ”). You must let us know within 7 days of being offered the Substitute Event whether you wish to accept it. If you accept the Substitute Event, the terms of the Order will be deemed to have been varied accordingly. If you do not wish to accept the Substitute Event or do not respond within the above time frame, we will treat this as a request to cancel the Contract subject to our cancellation policy set out in Clause 11.

(b) If the Supplier enables and authorises refunds to WDO, the Customer will receive a corresponding refund which shall be limited to the amount received by WDO from the Supplier less any booking and/or handling fees.

5.4  In the event of partial cancellation or abandonment of a multi-day Event, any compensation offers in respect of partial Event cancellations are subject to Clause 5.3 and to the terms and conditions of the relevant Organiser and/or at the discretion of the Organiser and cannot be guaranteed.

5.5 The Customer is advised to arrange, at its sole cost, its own comprehensive insurance policy to cover any risks associated with the cancellation of the Event.

6. Changes to the Booking by WDO

6.1  WDO may, at its sole discretion, alter, omit or otherwise change the Services when it is necessary to do so (including where required due to the actions of the Organiser, the Supplier or other relevant third party), and shall have no liability whatsoever to the Customer for any such changes.

6.2  Notwithstanding Clause 6.1, if:

(a) WDO and the Customer have agreed that specific sums paid to WDO are to be applied for the provision of certain Services; and

(b) WDO shall no longer provide those aspects of the Services by reason of its changes to the Services in accordance with its rights under Clause 6.1,

then WDO shall refund the relevant proportion of amounts paid to it.

7.1  Prices for any travel and/or accommodation packages forming part of the Services shall include UK VAT (where applicable), chargeable to WDO under the Tour Operators Margin Scheme. In such circumstances, there is no VAT to be reclaimed.

7.2  WDO reserves the right to charge carriage for the delivery of Event Documentation and/or Tickets.

7.3  WDO reserves the right to alter the price advertised for the Services at any time prior to the Event in order to reflect any change in WDO’s costs.

8. Tickets & Event Documentation

8.1 Tickets are provided to the Customer at face value, however, other service fees (such as rights’ fees or commission) may also be included within the price payable by the Customer, in accordance with Clause 3.

8.2  Event Documentation and Tickets are normally provided to the Customer 7-10 days prior to the Event (subject to the Customer making full payment in accordance with Clause 3). In some instances, Tickets will not be provided in advance of the Event and will be available for collection from the venue on the day of the Event. WDO shall inform the Customer when this is the case. Certain Package items, such as travel cards, will usually be posted to a UK address or hotel concierge.

8.3  Tickets for an Event may sometimes be supplied as “Digital Tickets”. To allow us to send the Digital Tickets it will be necessary for the Customer to set up the required “Ticket App” as specified by the Organiser, details of which will be supplied to you.

8.4  No refunds can be made for lost “Paper” tickets, however, every effort will be made to obtain duplicate tickets, although there will be an appropriate administration fee for organising such tickets.

8.5  Where Digital Tickets have been sent to the Customer, then the Tickets will be deemed to have been delivered to you when you receive confirmation that the Tickets are available to accept into your account. However, where necessary, WDO will make every effort to assist with any technical issue(s) you encounter.

9. Changes to Bookings by the Customer

9.1  If the Customer informs WDO of a reduction in the number of attendees, then:

(a) Cancellation Charges shall be payable by the Customer in accordance with Clause 11 (calculated on a pro-rata basis); and

(b) WDO reserves the right to terminate this Contract with immediate effect by giving written notice to the Customer and in such circumstances, Cancellation Charges shall be payable by the Customer in accordance with Clause 11.

10. Termination

10.1  If the Customer:

(a) commits a breach of any term of the Contract (other than the Customer’s obligation to pay WDO in which case Clause 3.3 shall apply) and (if such a breach is remediable) fails to remedy that breach within 5 days of BSTL notifying the Customer in writing to do so;

(b) takes any step or action in connection with its entering administration, provisional liquidation or any composition or arrangement with its creditors (other than in relation to a solvent restructuring), being wound up (whether voluntarily or by order of the court, unless for the purpose of a solvent restructuring), having a receiver appointed to any of its assets or ceases to carry on business or, if the step or action is taken in another jurisdiction, in connection with any analogous procedure in the relevant jurisdiction;

(c) suspends, or threatens to suspend, or ceases or threatens to cease to carry on all or a substantial part of its business; or

(d) the Customer’s financial position deteriorates to such an extent that in the WDO’s opinion the Customer’s capability to adequately fulfil its obligations under the Contract has been placed in jeopardy,

then WDO may terminate this Contract with immediate effect by giving written notice to the Customer and the Cancellation Charges shall apply.

11. Cancellation Policy

11.1 If the Customer wishes to cancel its Contract, it must submit a written cancellation request to WDO (“ Cancellation Request ”) and the following charges (“ Cancellation Charges ”) shall be immediately payable to WDO:

(a) Bookings that are paid in full at time of booking. 100% of the total amount shall be payable. (Where the Cancellation Request is more than 90 days prior to the Event WDO will use its best endeavours to mitigate the losses on behalf of the Customer).

(b) Where a Confirmation Invoice specifies stage payments:

     (i) If WDO receives the Cancellation Request 90 days or more prior to an Event but before the ‘deposit due’ date stated on the Confirmation Invoice, 10% of total amount shall be payable.

(ii) If WDO receives the Cancellation Request more than 90 days prior to an Event but after the ‘deposit due’ date, as specified on the invoice, the Deposit shall be payable.

(iii) If WDO receives the Cancellation Request 90 days or less prior to an Event, regardless of the amount paid by the Customer as of the date the Cancellation Request is received, 100% of the total amount shall be payable.

11.2  If the Customer fails to pay any amount due under the Contract by the due date, and WDO subsequently terminates the Contract due to this non-payment, then the Customer will be deemed to have cancelled the booking as a result of the non-payment, in accordance with Clause 3.3. Cancellation charges will then be due in accordance with Clause 11.1.

12. Liability

12.1  Nothing in this Contract shall limit or exclude a Party’s liability:

(a) for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its employees, agents or subcontractors;

(b) for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

(c) for breach of the terms implied by section 2 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 (title and quiet possession) or any other liability which cannot be limited or excluded by applicable law.

12.2  Subject to Clause 12.1, under no circumstances, shall WDO be liable for any of the following, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise:

(a) loss of revenue or anticipated revenue;

(b) loss of savings or anticipated savings;

(c) loss of business opportunity;

(d) loss of profits or anticipated profits;

(e) wasted expenditure; or

(f) any indirect or consequential losses.

12.3  WDO accepts no responsibility or liability for:

(a) changes to the date, start time or schedule of an Event;

(b) the delivery, quality, performance, security of an Event;

(c) any loss or damage suffered by the Customer at or in connection with an Event, including loss, damage or theft of any personal property;

(d) any loss of amenity or enjoyment suffered by the Customer in connection with an Event; or

(e) any breach by the Organiser or the Supplier of their terms and conditions,

save only to the extent such liability cannot be limited in law.

12.4  Subject to Clause 12.1, WDO’s maximum aggregate liability in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, however arising, under or in connection with this Contract shall be limited to the amounts received from the Customer under this Contract.

13. Data Protection & Privacy

13.1  WDO collects, stores and processes personal data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and GDPR guidelines, which are available upon request.
