Aaron Watson

Aaron Watson isn’t interested in what someone else thinks he should do. But instead of getting lonely as he sidesteps expectations, he’s gaining followers––hundreds of thousands of them. Delivered with a warm smile and fueled by a wild spirit, Watson’s rebellion echoes the land that helped make him. Watson remains strikingly similar to the people that still dot his native West Texas. They’re a rugged people, proud of home but humble and hardworking, the first to help a neighbor but also fiercely independent. And Watson is unquestionably one of them. Throughout his 17-year career that spans a dozen albums and more than 2,500 shows throughout the U.S. and Europe, 39-year-old Watson has stubbornly and sincerely identified with the everyman––even as he’s proven to be the exception to the rule. The latest evidence of Watson’s homespun singularity is Vaquero, an ambitious 16-song set of character-driven storytelling, level-headed cultural commentary, and love songs for grownups that promise to further solidify his status as one of today’s finest torch-bearers of real country music. Vaquero is the follow-up to 2015’s The Underdog, an acclaimed collection that also made history. Watson was sitting at his kitchen table as his wife Kim scrambled eggs when he got the call: The Underdog had debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart. It was the first time an independent, male country artist had ever outsold majors to premiere at the top spot. “We started jumping around and squealing like kids,” he says. “It was a beautiful moment because I got to share it with the girl who believed in me when I was broke and playing some pawnshop guitar. It is something I’ll never forget.” That momentous instant also arrived with a built-in challenge. “Once we dried the tears of joy, it hit me,” Watson says. “I had my work cut out for me for my next album.” Determined, Watson committed to waking up every morning before the sun rose to write songs on that same old pawnshop guitar he scored 20 years ago. “I bet you I couldn’t get $50 for that guitar,” he says. “But it means the world to me.” He penned songs in the back of a bus on the highway, too, as the band spent the last two years playing more than 35 states and six countries. The result is Vaquero, a bold album that confidently draws from Texas’ storied musical melting pot: dancehall shuffles, dustbowl narratives, Tejano, and more fill the record. In writing the new album, Watson felt especially drawn to the idea of the vaquero, the original Spanish horseman that set the foundation for the North American cowboy, a solitary figure with a legendary work ethic. Watson is a modern-day vaquero––he just gets up at 5 a.m. to wrangle songs instead of cattle. And while he won’t deny the pressure he felt following his last album’s success, outside barometers can’t compel him to change who he is or what he writes. Watson is Watson, chart-topping record or not. One listen and it’s easy to understand why. Album opener “Texas Lullaby” pays lilting homage both to home and to the bravery of the young heroes fighting wars. Deep connections to place and family course throughout the record. Sing-along “These Old Boots Have Roots” celebrates new love by offering promises grounded in the honor and grace of past generations. A fiddle accents Watson’s lines playfully then escalates to a hopeful roar. Romance is a central theme of the album, but Watson isn’t interested in adding to the steady stream of hook-up anthems coming out of Music Row. Watson’s love songs are celebrations of monogamy and the bonds that only time, mutual respect, and persistence can build. The swinging, fiddle-soaked “Take You Home Tonight” anticipates a steamy night in, while “Run Wild Horses” is a passionate ode to lovemaking featuring a standout vocal performance from Watson, whose laid-back croon lets loose and soars. Infectious first single “Outta Style” and shuffling “Be My Girl Tonight” both praise staying power and explore how to protect it. Watson revels in another kind of love on the album closer, “Diamonds & Daughters.” Two years ago, his then four-year-old daughter asked him to write her a song for his next record. “I thought it sure would be special if I could write her a song right now that we could dance to at her wedding someday,” he says. That’s exactly what he did. A tender look at the past, present, and future, the song will undoubtedly touch every parent and daughter who hears it. The title track is an accordion-fueled joy, buoyed by Watson’s delivery of life lessons courtesy of an old vaquero sitting alone at a bar. “Mariano’s Dream” and “Clear Isabel” are companion pieces, placed back-to-back to stunning cinematic effect. Plaintive instrumental “Mariano’s Dream” kicks off the experience, haunting and sad as an acoustic guitar carries listeners through a lush Tex-Mex soundscape. The song then segues into “Clear Isabel,” and listeners soon discover the Mariano named in the previous track is father to Isabel. A story of sacrifice and heartbreak, “Clear Isabel” imbues the souls who choose to cross a river in search of safety with the dignity and beauty they deserve.  Refusing to worry about charts or current trends, Watson hopes the main thing Vaquero accomplishes is bringing his growing legion of fans joy. And no matter what happens next, he is anchored and ready.

We saw this show in Beaumont, TX and it was really good. Aaron had Kevin Fowler with him and the only thing that could've made it better for this Panhandle Poor Girl is if they could've enticed Trent Willmon to perform with them for an Panhandle triple shot! The venue was perfect. Not crowded at all and not an overdone "showy" type of show. Down home, genuine feel and not over-hyped. Exactly what you'd expect from those 2 performers.

Although we enjoyed the concert as a whole we did get discouraged by the amount of talking Aaron did during his set. It was nice hearing from the artist and getting a personal experience but we really wanted to hear more music. He said he'd sing parts of some songs but those were the songs we wanted to hear in their entirety lol. We were totally confused when he said he didn't want to sing Getaway Truck.....why?? It's a great song! It was cute the way Aaron brought a small girl on stage for her birthday and played for her but again we really wanted more music.

Overall it was a fun night out for my daughter-in-law and myself and worth the 1.5 hr drive to Beaumont. They had played in Houston BUT it was outdoor, ground seating. It's toooooo hot for that + I'm disabled so ground seating was out. We'd definitely see Aaron again when he's back in the area & Kevin Fowler too. Jon Stack was the opener and he was a good singer; appropriate too as he's real country - not what they're passing off as country these days. We'd actually never heard of him. Turns out he has albums. Now we know lol.

Aaron Watson is a singer-songwriter who hails from Amarillo Texas and attended Abilene Christian University, where he start playing the guitar. He played a number of gigs around Texas before releasing his debut album entitled “A Texas Café”. In the last fifteen years he has released upwards of about ten studio albums, his most recent one that he is touring with, called “Real Good Time” made it to number 9 in the US Country Charts. He opens with the song “Barbed Wire Halo” which opens with a violin played as a fiddle playing an exert similar to the song “Amazing Grace”. He joins in on his Gibson Hummingbird guitar. It is almost as though this song samples the original song. The audience is singing along from the start to the finish with their hands high up in the air. One of the songs that goes down the best is a song called “July in Cheyenne” which has everyone in this place dancing and jumping around, whilst the Texan crooner provides a worthy soundtrack.

I had a good time Aaron Watson concert. I wasn't able to sit down there close to him to where I could see him real well I was sitting up in the balcony. But he did put on a good show. I was impressed. I've been following. Aaron Watson for almost 2 years I would have loved to have met him in person. I meet and greet but I wasn't able to. Are even sitting the VIP down on the floor area But all in all it was good. I would like to see me and sometimes to be able to meet him. And get a autograph for a shirt signed or something like that. Maybe someday I will.

Aaron Watson with Zane Williams as the opening act... Aaron Watson has been on my list of people to see live for years now... Me and a few friends drove about 3 hours to see him at Joe's live Rosemont. This hands down was the best concert I have ever been... and I have been to many concerts! I honestly cannot tell you who did a better job between the two of them. I was totally fan girling the whole night! Thanks Mr. Watson and Mr. Williams for an amazing night of music and entertainment! Anytime you all are in the area I'll be front and center! 10 out of 10!

Aaron Watson put on a great show. He really cares about his fans. He played for 2 & 1/2 hours straight. He was taking pictures with the fans and even took 3 little girls on stage to dance and play the fiddle. I'll definitely go see him again when he returns to El Paso TX.

Aaron Watson has been around for about 10 years now. I just heard of him about a month before the concert. This guy is really good and sings from the heart. Real country music not new country/rap. You'll be amazed at his music. I will see him again first chance I get.

For the past 20 years, Watson has achieved success on his own terms, hand-building a lauded career through songwriting, relentless touring and more than a dozen self released albums. His independent Texas spirit and strong work ethic are emblematic of the western lifestyle; virtues which have taken him from humble honky-tonks of Texas to multiple sold-out tours around the world.

In 2019 he released Red Bandana — "his most ambitious album yet" —whose 20 songs were hailed by The Boot as "a pure expression of his traditional country ethos.”

This unprecedented acclaim follows Watson's previous album, Vaquero, whose Top 10 hit "Outta Style" earned a BMI Millionaire award, and The Underdog, the first independent album in the history of country music to top the Billboard Country Albums chart.

With a dozen additional records under his belt, Watson is exceeding major-label-sized metrics while maintaining his independence, further galvanizing his "Texas country's reigning indie underdog" (Rolling Stone) brand. "There may be no more genuine singer-songwriter at the moment than Watson," says --Texas Monthly--, pointing to a self-made businessman, chart-topper, and road warrior whose authenticity has made him a country music staple.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  - Texas native and country music mainstay Aaron Watson announces today his official partnership with Shiner Beer, the independent, family-owned makers of the iconic Shiner Bock. It’s an exciting new collaboration that will bring together two iconic Texas brands.

This partnership celebrates the recent launch of Shiner Rode0, a new line of non-alcoholic brews featuring three refreshing flavors: Golden Brew, Citrus Wit and Red Amber. As the official sponsor, Shiner Rode0 will be available at all of the remaining tour dates of the 2024 Armadillo Dance Hall Tour in Texas. The Armadillo Dance Hall Tour is a family-friendly show featuring fan-favorite hits and infectious melodies. A long-time fan of Shiner and non-alcoholic beer, Watson feels Shiner Rode0 is the perfect sponsor for the tour.

“Nothing says Texas quite like Shiner Bock,” says Watson. “As an independent Texan artist, I’m excited to partner with the oldest independent brewery in Texas. Ever since it was released, Shiner Rode0 is always on my rider! We can’t wait for our fans to try these new non-alcoholic options from the brewery they know and love.”

“We’re proud to be the official sponsor of the 2024 Armadillo Dance Hall Tour, " says Nick Weiland, Brand Director of Shiner Beer. “Knowing Aaron’s love for Shiner and non-alcoholic beers, we jumped at the opportunity to collaborate.”

About Shiner, the K. Spoetzl Brewery, and the K. Spoetzl Distillery:

The K. Spoetzl Brewery was founded in Shiner, Texas (population 2,127), in 1909,

by Czech and German immigrants brewing beer with old-world traditions and recipes for South Central Texas. Since then, the brewery has grown to be one of the largest independent craft brewers in the country with beers available in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and U.S. military bases around the world. In 2023, the Spoetzl Brewery expanded to include the K. Spoetzl Distillery with its line of Shiner Craft Spirits. To this day, every drop of the award-winning beer is brewed right in Shiner, TX, where it all started 114 years ago.

About Aaron Watson

Aaron Watson’s career is perhaps summed up best by Forbes, who says he’s “one of country music’s biggest DIY success stories.” For over 20 years, Aaron Watson has traveled the nation as country music’s ultimate underdog troubadour – a truly independent artist with the spirit of the American frontier in his veins, and a self-made empire to match. Working without corporate backers, he has nonetheless reached the Top 10 of Billboard’s Country Album chart five separate times – an impressive feat by any standard. His triumphant 2015 set, The Underdog, landed at #1, becoming the first independent album in the history of country music to top the Billboard Country Albums chart. Matching sold-out shows across the country with homegrown hits, he’s followed suit at country radio, making history in 2017 with “Outta Style” and “Run Wild Horses.” “Watson has made a career out of giving his fans music that focuses on the positive. Music that serves as a salve to what ails them. Music filled with light and joy and an abundance of pride for the country he calls home,” said People of the 2021 American Soul album. With a dozen additional records under his belt, Watson is exceeding major-label-sized metrics while maintaining his independence, further galvanizing his “Texas country's reigning indie underdog” (Rolling Stone) brand. This next chapter of his trailblazing career sees him deep in the weeds working on a 2025 slated album of originals that promises to be his most daring and audacious release to date. Aaron Watson is a man constantly reaffirming his dedication to the craft of songwriting, and it is this commitment to quality and treating his fans with respect that has proven him, time and again, to be the living North Star for country music’s free and indomitable spirit.

At Home With Aaron Watson

Aaron watson, the tried-and-true texas country crooner, chats about both the work and play areas of his family’s spread near buffalo gap..

H e’s talented, smart, charismatic, and devoted to traditional country songwriting. Texas troubadour Aaron Watson remains one of the bright spots in music thanks to those traits, and his latest record, last year’s American Soul , runs the emotional gamut from heartrending personal stories to celebratory cowboy anthems.

aaron watson tour texas

“It feels like a West Texas resort out in the middle of the country,” Watson says. “It’s so peaceful out there and the sunrises and sunsets are amazing.

“Being out so far out of town, there’s a million stars in the sky. It’s relaxing to sit out around the fire pit and have some music going and hang out.”

Here’s more from Watson on the areas in his home where he plays — and works.

aaron watson tour texas

Cowboys & Indians : How are your outdoor areas designed and what were some key elements you wanted in them? Aaron Watson: When we moved into the house, there was already the pool and fire pit. Over the years, we have made a few changes and really tailored it into something that is perfect for our family. We have a big horseshoe couch and a TV that adds to the outdoor living area. I just added pergolas around the pool. The evenings really are peaceful and it’s fun to go out there and watch a movie with the family.

Living out in the country, we love having our own little getaway in the backyard.  It is very important for me. With as much time as I spend on the road, it’s nice to feel like I can have a retreat in my backyard.

C&I : Now tell me about your office — what did you envision, and what did you know you had to have? Watson: The backyard is a different story; that’s something I have complete control over. The office is in the house, and I have to play by [my wife] Kim’s rules. The office is open to the rest of the house, so it had to fit the vibe she has for it. If I’m not writing songs out on the back porch, I’m writing in the office. It was important for me to be surrounded by my guitars and musical things and memories without messing up her feng shui.

aaron watson tour texas

C&I : What kind of décor is there and how does it inspire you to keep working on your music, shows, and other projects ? Watson: I have some framed show prints from playing the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman. I also have an autographed Chris LeDoux 8x10, an old Lone Star neon sign, and my first guitar. I have things there that remind me how far I’ve come and how much further I want to go.

C&I : What advice would you give to anyone who is setting up their own office, no matter how big or small? Watson: Your office needs to be some place where you can be productive and comfortable working. I think creating an environment where you can get the job done is the key.

DETROIT — Akshay Bhatia walked down a fairway at Detroit Golf Club, looking for his ball after a long, straight tee shot, and found it in an improbable spot — underground, after it fell into a drain.

Bhatia said he and the PGA Tour rules official, who granted a free drop, had never seen anything like it.

“It was kind of one-in-a-million chance that ball goes in that small hole in that drain,” he said.

Bhatia went on to shoot a 5-under 67, good enough for a share of the 36-hole lead with Aaron Rai at 13-under 131 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic on Friday.

Bhatia’s drive on the par-5 17th hole managed to drop into one of five holes in a metal drain cap that were just big enough to accommodate a golf ball. He ended up making par in his second straight bogey-free round.

Related: Akshay Bhatia shoots 64 to take first-round lead in Detroit; Will Zalatoris two strokes back

“It’s going to be pretty viral, I think,” he said.

Trinity Christian Academy product Will Zalatoris sits in a tie for 26th at 7-under par, after shooting a 1-under round on Friday.

Tom Kim , a Dallas-area resident and the highest-ranked player in the field at No. 16, followed up a first-round 73 with a 68 and missed the cut by a stroke at 3 under. After losing to Scottie Scheffler in a playoff last week in Connecticut, he may have run out of gas in the Motor City in his ninth straight tournament.

Rai shot 65 to match Bhatia on a course that consistently yields low scores. The Englishman made seven birdies, including four in a five-hole stretch midway through the round, and capped his day with a 21-foot birdie putt on the 18th.

Taylor Montgomery (68), Troy Merritt (64), Erik van Rooyen (64) and Cameron Young (66) were two strokes behind the co-leaders.

Eric Cole (68), Cam Davis (66) and Joel Dahmen (64) were another shot back.

Neal Shipley, the low amateur at the Masters and U.S. Open, gave himself a chance to contend in his first PGA Tour event as a pro. He was four shots back after a 68.

“With my experience with the majors, I don’t feel like there’s a big learning curve for me,” he said.

Amateur Luke Clanton (68) was 7 under, flashing the talent he showed last season at Florida State, where he set a school record with a 69.3 scoring average.

The 22-year-old Bhatia chose to skip college and turned pro at age 17.

“I’ve got a long time to go before I can say, you know, this is the right decision, but so far I’ve made progress every year I’ve been a pro,” he said.

He picked up his second PGA Tour victory at the Texas Open in April and is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Travelers Championship, where he was in the final group that was disrupted by climate protesters storming the 18th green .

Rai, Montgomery and Young are each seeking their first PGA Tour victory. Merritt and van Rooyen have each won twice.

Miles Russell, a 15-year-old amateur from Florida, shot 70 on Friday and missed the cut in his PGA Tour debut at even-par 144.

The 5-foot-7, 120-pound Russell was a fan favorite, drawing relatively large galleries and hearing a lot of encouragement.

“You got it, kid!” one spectator shouted.

After signing his card and fielding questions from reporters, he hugged family members, posed for photos and signed autographs.

“It’s been surreal,” his mother, Keli Russell, said, holding back tears. “The support from everyone has just been incredible.”

Russell, the youngest player to make a cut on the Korn Ferry Tour, will return to the Motor City next month for the U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills, where Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, will also be in the field.

“(Charlie Woods) was at actually at my charity event I put on, the Florida Sunshine Cup , I played with him there,” Russell said. “I haven’t played with him in a while and it’ll be good to see him.”

DETROIT (AP) — Akshay Bhatia and Aaron Rai ended the third round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic in the same position they started it — tied atop the leaderboard.

Bhatia and Rai each shot 4-under 68 on Saturday to reach 17 under, sharing the lead again on a crowded leaderboard.

“So many people in this golf tournament, it’s not just us two,” Bhatia said. “We didn’t separate ourselves.”

Cam Davis (66) and Cameron Young (67) were a shot back at soggy and windy Detroit Golf Club. Sam Stevens (66) and Erik van Rooyen (68) were another stroke back.

Amateur Luke Clanton (65), Min Woo Lee (66) and Joel Dahmen (68) were three shots behind the leaders, entering the final round Sunday.

The third round started a couple hours late and threesomes went off both the front and back nine because more than an inch of rain soaked the course, leaving standing water in the fairways and large puddles in the rough.

The conditions allowed players to lift, clean and place their golf balls in the fairways. Players, though, did not get relief from the wind that gusted up to 25 mph.

“The biggest factor was the wind,” Lee said. “We’ve been playing in pretty calm conditions the last two days and today was like a hurricane.”

Image

While Bhatia and Rai slowed down as the sun started to set and shadows blanketed the course, Young surged into a three-way tie at the par-5 17th with his third birdie in four holes.

Young shot a 59 last Saturday at the Travelers Championship, the first player to pull off that feat since Scottie Scheffler did it during the 2020 FedExCup Playoffs.

Davis, who won the Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2021 at 18 under, made it a four-way tie atop the leaderboard with a slow-rolling 8-footer to close with his fourth birdie in five holes.

Bhatia and Rai both birdied 17, turning a four-way tie into two at 17 under and both parred the final hole.

Bhatia picked up his second PGA Tour victory at the Texas Open in April and is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Travelers Championship, where he was in the final group that was disrupted by climate protesters storming the 18th green.

“Last week, I was right there for a long time and obviously didn’t get it done,” he said. “But I’m excited for this.”

Rai and and Young, who has been a runner-up seven times, are each seeking their first PGA Tour victory.

Clanton, a junior at Florida State, got into contention with four birdies on the front nine and a fifth at No. 11 to pull within two shots of the leaders. After giving a stroke back with a bogey at No. 12, he had an eagle on the par-5 14th with an approach from 227 feet that left him with a 3-foot putt he made for birdie at No. 17.

If Clanton can close strong enough to win, it would mark the first time since 1945 that multiple amateurs won a PGA Tour event in the same season.

Nick Dunlap won The American Express, against a field that included Scheffler, to become the first amateur since Phil Mickelson 33 years earlier to win on the PGA Tour. Dunlap, who turned professional shortly after the win in January, was four shots back in Detroit after shooting 67 in the third round.

“Amateurs now, we’re so good,” he said.

Clanton insisted he’s not in a rush to cash in as a pro on the PGA Tour, saying he plans to stay in school for two more years.

“Being able to play golf with your buddies every single day, it’s something you don’t get very much,” he said before eating a college-caliber dinner at Chipotle. “I’ve got 12 dudes on that team that I absolutely love, so it’s awesome.”

Will Zalatoris, who entered the tournament ranked No. 44, withdrew because of a back injury after playing eight holes in 3 over Saturday.

2024 Texas Children's Houston Open odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

W ith the Florida Swing wrapped up, the PGA Tour heads to Texas for the 2024 Texas Children's Houston Open . This is the 4th year Memorial Park will host the event, which is headlined by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler .

Below, we look at the 2024 Texas Children's Houston Open odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions .

Having won his last 2 starts, Scheffler will look to make it 3 wins in a row this week in Houston. He's the odds-on favorite to win at +275, by far the shortest odds of any player in the field. Wyndham Clark has the 2nd-best odds at +1200, followed by Will Zalatoris (+1800), Sabith Theegala (+2200) and 2023 champion Tony Finau (+2200).

Memorial Park is a par 70 and plays at 7,435 yards, so it's one of the longer courses on tour. It underwent a major renovation in 2019, which is when the PGA Tour returned to this site, with everything from hole distances changing to bunkers and trees being removed. Scheffler and Finau share the course record of 8-under 62, which Scheffler shot in 2021 and Finau carded in 2022.

Texas Children's Houston Open – Expert picks

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook ; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 3:32 p.m. ET.

Will Zalatoris (+1800)

Zalatoris' missed cut at the Players Championship was surprising, but it shouldn't be enough to deter bettors from taking him again this week in Houston. He typically plays well when the conditions are tough, as evidenced by his major finishes, and while he's never played this event before, it's a good bounce-back opportunity for him at a course that emphasizes ball striking over putting.

Sahith Theegala (+2200)

Theegala finished 61st and 22nd in his 2 starts at this event, but it's reasonable to think he'll improve upon both of those finishes this year. He's in the midst of his best season yet, already posting 4 top-10s and a runner-up in 8 starts with only 1 missed cut. Theegala is just the type of player who can unseat Scheffler at the top.

Keith Mitchell (+4000)

Mitchell had the Valspar Championship in his hands before collapsing in the final round with a 77 on Sunday. That dropped him from 1st to 17th on the last day of the tournament after holding a 2-shot 54-hole lead. That ending to his week will leave a bitter taste in his mouth, but it was more of a fluky performance with the driver than anything. He finished 41st here in 2021 and 9th in 2022.

Texas Children's Houston Open picks – Contenders

Joel dahmen (+6600).

After missing the cut in 3 of his 1st 5 starts of the season, Dahmen has gotten back on track by making it in each of his last 3 starts – including an 11th-place finish at the Players Championship. He followed it up with a T-49 at the Valspar last week and now ranks 27th in strokes gained: off the tee and 8th in approach.

Aaron Rai (+5000)

Rai missed the cut at the Valspar Championship by a few shots but he had notched 3 straight top-35 finishes before that. His putter hasn't cooperated, ranking 136th in strokes gained on the greens but he's 23rd tee-to-green. This is a course he's had success at before, finishing 7th and 19th in his last 2 starts here.

Texas Children's Houston Open picks – Long shots

Alex smalley (+12500).

Smalley has missed the cut in 7 of his 9 starts this season and one of his made cuts resulted in a 75th-place finish. So why bet him now? Because he finished 4th in this tournament in 2022 and 15th the year prior, so he clearly knows this course well.

Tyson Alexander (+25000)

Peter Malnati showed on Sunday that no matter a player's odds, anyone can win at any time. Alexander is a mega-long shot at +30000, but he was the runner-up here in 2022 and already has 1 top-20 finish this season.

Taylor Swift

It’s nice to have a friend, and Taylor Swift has plenty of famous pals that have been supporting her on her massive The Eras tour, which kicked off on March 17 in Glendale, Ariz.

Besides friends such as Haim, Laura Dern, Emma Stone and Shania Twain watching from the crowd and singing along to every word, Swift also surprised fans with onstage appearances. Despite  telling Swifties during night one  at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium that “we don’t have guests at this show,” the pop superstar invited Marcus Mumford, the  Mumford & Sons  frontman, for her debut live performance of “Cowboy Like Me,” from Swift’s chart-topping 2020 album,  Evermore .

Other music stars have also gotten an invite from Swift to perform alongside her on the tour, including opener Gracie Abrams, frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner, Taylor Lautner, Phoebe Bridgers, Ice Spice, Maren Morris and more.

See below for all the celebrities who have made appearances at Swift’s The Eras tour stops, either in the audience or on stage, which we’ll be updating as the 14-time Grammy winner makes her way around the world.

Swift’s “No Body, No Crime” collaborators, “Bejeweled” music video co-stars and besties Haim were one of the first celebs spotted at The Eras tour, jamming along to the superstar’s many hits and dancing the night away on opening night.

See them via a video shared by People here. The sibling trio is also set to open for Swift later in the tour.

The La La Land actress was just as much of a Swiftie as the rest of the Glendale crowd when she was spotted belting her heart out to the Fearless hit, “Love Story.”

Jack Antonoff

Swift’s prolific producer pal Antonoff also made it to see the star in Arlington on April 1. “holy shit,” he captioned an Instagram Stories video taken during the emotional stage production of “August,” a Folklore favorite that he co-wrote and co-produced. Swift also took a special request from Antonoff that night: “Death By a Thousand Cuts,” which was one of the surprise songs on her set list.

Former Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt took to Instagram to rave about his experience at opening night of The Eras tour. “So much respect @taylorswift,” he captioned a video sharing his thoughts about the concert. “When your fans pay for a ticket, they are getting their money’s worth and some.”

Danica Patrick

“We were all so in the moment that we didn’t take many pictures together and I didn’t even take that many videos,” the former race car driver wrote on Instagram. “@taylorswift sang 44 songs and it was the most amazing concert I have ever seen. Swiftie for life.”

Samara Weaving

Samara Weaving was also in attendance on opening night in Glendale, Ariz., and the Scream VI actress took her Instagram Stories to share a few moments from the crowd.

Cara Delevingne

The model took her social media game at The Eras concert to the next level, and actually livestreamed the show on her Instagram account.

Ethan Hawke

It was the ultimate crossover when Hawke was spotted chatting with Selena Gomez at the Arlington, Texas, tour stop.

After the show he wrote , “Irrespective of our friendship, this is my honest opinion: @taylorswift is putting on the show of a lifetime with the Eras Tour. It’s as big, bold, and artistic as any of the great pop stars of history. It’s fueled by her imagination and her soul. It’s stunning and beautiful.” Kahn worked on a number of music videos with Swift: “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” “Wildest Dreams,” “Out of the Woods,” “Look What You Made Me Do,” “…Ready for It?”, “End Game” and “Delicate.”

Matty Healy

Matty Healy  was spotted at Swift‘s concert in Nashville on Friday (May 5), sparking further speculation that the two music stars are romantically involved.

Earlier in the week,  rumors surfaced  that the  The 1975  frontman and pop superstar are “massively proud and excited about this relationship,” according to a source cited by  The Sun . The report followed news of Swift’s split from her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn in early April.

At the show, during her performance of “Cardigan,” fans were quick to notice Swift mouthing the same words to that Healy was  filmed saying  before The 1975’s performance of “About You” in Manila on May 3.

“This one is about you. You know who you are. I love you,” they both  mouthed to the crowd  on the separate occasions.

After sharing some photo memories with Swift from tours past via an Instagram Story earlier in the day, the Law & Order star was spotted on the floor at Nissan Stadium in Nashville at the May 6 show of The Eras Tour.

She returned for more on May 26! Hargitay attended one of Swift’s New Jersey shows and posted a video about her experience on Instagram the next day. “I’m sitting here basking in the glow of last night, Taylor’s concert, which was so amazing. I can’t even get over that woman. Three-and-a-half hours of pure magic,” she gushed. She also showed off a little collection of gifts she received from Swifties: “50 of these friendship bracelets from last night. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me their friendship bracelets. It was so sweet.”

“The stellar song choices, inspired choreography, other-worldly art design … an incredible night to dance, sing and feel so much JOY .. thank you @taylorswift and the whole ERAS tour team for shining so bright tonight.”

Candice King

Former The Vampire Diaries star Candice King was among the Swifties who attended the rain-delayed show in Nashville on May 7. “A Four hour weather delay (and every canned cocktail we brought in our to go cooler… and then maybe some of the canned cocktails our driver surprised us with) later… and the show went on!” the actress captioned a carousel of photos and videos on her Instagram account. “So much running, so much dancing, and even more singing all in the warm spring midnight rain.”

Blake Lively
