I visited the canyon for the second time with these folks, just as good if not better. My in-laws and wife were just as surprised as I was in 2014 (My first visit) at how beautiful the canyon was and how wonderful the service is. Would recommend, and props to our Tour Guide Rosie, you rock!

The tour through the Antelope Canyon is something you will never forget, pictures don't do it justice, as it is hard to catch the raw beauty before you. Our tour guide Rick was great, informative and help with capturing the best pictures possible.

We had a wonderful tour with Rosie. We took a morning tour in hopes of avoiding the crowds. It worked out perfectly. Rosie was informative and warm. She helped us get best photos, gave us interesting facts about the Navajo and the canyon, and we were not rushed through.

I went with a couple of friends from college, tour guide was nice, she explained many photographic opportunities, she was very knowledgable, weather was nice, we all loved the experience.

Our guide made our trip so interesting and fun. He was very knowledgeable and an excellent photographer. He showed us the best spots for pictures and advised us on the best camera settings. This trip is a "must" for every traveler lucky enough to see this part of the country. I highly recommend Antelope Canyon Tours!

Our tour was amazing. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Page. The colors of the Sandstone is truly unforgettable. The guides are very knowledgeable and Sonny was very helpful in making sure we had taken the best photo possible. Definitely a must-see!

How to book a tour for Antelope Canyon

The Antelope Canyons have fast risen to Top 5 status among the Page, Arizona area’s “must do” activities. You are required to tour them with a Navajo Tribe-authorized guide service, and advance reservations are an absolute must!  Why You Should Book In Advance…

Canyon Overview

So where does one start? To book a tour for Antelope Canyon, you must first decide whether you want to tour Lower or Upper Antelope Canyon, or both .

Upper Antelope Canyon is an above-ground slot canyon. It’s an easy, flat 100 yard walk, following a 2-mile off-road ride from the Navajo Tribal Park Gate on US98 to the canyon’s entrance. Upper Antelope Canyon is also where you can catch those world-famous sunbeams between the spring and fall months, but only during peak time tours. If you are traveling with infants, young children, seniors, or anyone with mobility limitations, Upper Antelope Canyon would be the best choice for your slot canyon touring experience, however, only 3 of the 5 Upper Antelope Canyon tour operators allow children under 6 on their tours. Also, wheelchairs and strollers are not allowed due to the difficulty of maneuvering these devices through potentially deep sand and the newly installed network of walkways from the exit of the canyon back to the tour vehicle parking area.

Lower Antelope Canyon is a longer slot canyon (~600 yards), situated below-ground. Touring it requires descending and ascending a series of ladders, and stepping over a few boulders. Access to the canyon is directly from the Tribal Park Gate on US98. If everyone in your traveling party is in reasonably good health and can handle moderate exercise, you should be fine in Lower Antelope Canyon. Although infants and younger children are allowed on Lower Antelope Canyon tours, parents should consider carefully whether this would be an appropriate or safe activity. Although backpack and chest child carriers are allowed, low rock ledges and other hazards could detract from the enjoyment of this experience for all concerned. Consider these facts carefully before booking a tour of Lower Antelope Canyon with your baby or toddler.

For more information on touring Antelope Canyon with young children, read “Antelope Canyon FAQ: Bringing Kids.” Also check out our Full Video Walk Through of Lower Antelope Canyon

We are interested in making a reservation for the Lower Antelope Canyon tour. However, this website is not listed under the Lower Canyon tour operators under the official Navajo Nation Parks website. Is this company associated with either Ken or Dixie tour operators to fulfill the time slot that you guys have offered on the site?

Hi Francis, AntelopeCanyonAZ is an authorized affiliate/reseller of Lower Antelope Canyon Tours by Dixie Ellis. When you book with us, your tour will ultimately be conducted by them. It is entirely possible that they are sold out but our blocks of seats still show availability. Due to the popularity of Antelope Canyon Tours in general, we strongly advise booking with whoever you can find available seats with as soon as possible. Good luck and safe travels, Alley 🙂

Please clarify cancellation policy. I just booked 3 people on a Lover Antelope Canyon Hiking Tour and purchased additional trip protection for 6.50 per person. The trip protection said ” Trip Protection provides peace of mind for the unexpected need to cancel. With Trip Protection, you can cancel anytime at any reason for a full refund, less the cost of Trip Protection” But the reservation says cancellations made within 72 hours of tour departure incur a 100% cancellation fee. I am assuming that is without trip protection. Please clarify – with trip protection can I cancel at any time (even within 72 hours) for a full refund.

Hi Susan, Apologies for the lack of clarity re: the Trip Protection. That is a relatively new offering, so we’re still working out a few kinks, but rest assured that by purchasing that, you are protected from incurring a 100% cancellation fee if you have to cancel within the 72-hour penalty window. If you were to cancel within 72 hours of your trip date, the Trip Protection would entitle you to a full refund of your ticket price, minus the $6.50 per person. Should the tour company opt to cancel tours due to weather or other circumstances beyond anyone’s control, you would receive a 100% refund of your tickets. I hope that helps. If you have further questions, please contact us at [email protected] Good luck and safe travels, Alley 🙂

Is it possible to book both upper and lower together? Ideally one ticket for both canyons to be visited in a straight? If so how can I just do it? I didn’t see the options, just to book separately.

No purse/bag at all policy still apply?

Thanks Andy

Hey Andy, It is possible to book both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tours for the same day, but they wouldn’t be on a single ticket since different segments of the canyons are managed by different companies. To compare side-by-side availability on your desired date, visit AntelopeCanyon.AZ: Upper & Lower Antelope Canyons Please note that the key to making both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyon tours work on the same day is having at least a 60-90 minute “buffer” between the conclusion of one tour, and the check-in time for the other. For example, the 8.15 AM Upper Antelope Canyon tour (check-in 7.30 am) would conclude at around 9.45 AM. That would give you only 15 minutes to transition to the 10.45 AM Lower Antelope Canyon tour, which would require check-in at 10.00 AM. That’s not much time, and should the Upper tour run late for any reason, you would risk being late for the check-in for Lower and forfeiting your spot on the tour, not to mention what you paid for your tickets. A better choice would be the 11.45 AM Lower Antelope Canyon tour, which requires that you check-in at 11:00 AM. That gives you 1 hour and 15 minutes from when the 8.15 am tour of Upper Antelope wraps up, during which you could grab a bite to eat, freshen up a bit, or do a little shopping. Another option would be to take the 10.45 Lower Canyon tour, which requires check-in at 10.00 AM, and would conclude at approximately 12:15 PM. The 2:30 PM Upper Antelope Canyon would require you to check-in at 1:45 PM, which would give you 90 minutes to transition from the Lower Antelope Canyon site to downtown Page, AZ. Check-in for the Upper Antelope Canyon tour takes place at Chief Tsosie’s storefront at 55 S. Lake Powell Boulevard in downtown Page, AZ. Map Dixie’s Lower Antelope Canyon Tours check-in is at the Lower Antelope Canyon site itself, which is about 20 minutes Southeast of the town of Page, AZ. Map The no purses/bags policy still applies to both tours. Hope that helps! Please contact us directly at [email protected] if you have further questions. Alley 🙂

  • Chevron down What to Bring

Closed end shoes are recommended and are required for our 3 private canyons. We discourage skirts and dresses due to the ladders and the terrain. We ask our guests to dress modest because we do accommodate families. Canyons can be up to 10 degrees cooler than the external temperature, so layers are recommended for your comfort. The temperature is usually five to ten degrees cooler, all year around in the canyons. Dress in layers to accommodate changing temperatures.

If it is windy, we do recommend a hat and handkerchief to cover your nose, mouth, and ears. Sand enters the canyon in all directions, so photographers please bring a cover for your camera, a plastic shower cap works best.

  • Chevron down Tour Policies

1. Cancellation Policy:

If you cancel a tour 72 hours (or more) before the scheduled start of your originally booked tour, then you will get a 94% refund. Between 24 and 72 hours, you will get a 50% refund. 2. We operate on Mountain Standard Time

Our company, Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours, DO NOT operate on Daylight Savings Time however the Navajo Nation does acknowledge the time zone. We may be located on the Navajo Nation but we as a business DO NOT operate on DST. We operate on MOUNTAIN STANDARD TIME all year round. That is the same time as Phoenix, AZ and Page, AZ. If you find yourself confused, the best thing to do is Google ‘Page, AZ time’ and follow the time listed. You can also turn off the set automatic time zone and set it to ‘Phoenix, AZ’ while you are visiting Page and the surrounding area. Google Maps and the time on your phone will adjust based on your current location so please keep that mind. Once again, we DO NOT operate on Daylight Savings Time.

3. No Bag Policy

This means no bags of any kind; ie: no back packs, no purses, no fanny packs, no baby carriers, and no water bags. On our multiple canyons tours – we do allow a small bag but it remains in the vehicle while in the canyon. (AACT is not responsible for any kind of theft, stolen property, or any damage)

4. Accessibility

A portion of the tour is “off road” and can be washboarded and quite bumpy. No Pregnant women are allowed. No wheelchairs. People with back problems, or people who have recently had surgery are advised to not take this tour. You will be walking about one half mile in sandy and rocky terrain. Customers going on this tour accept ALL liability for their own health issues.

5. Is your canyon wheelchair accessible and do you allow service animals?

Due to our location, we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs and apologize for this inconvenience. Animals of any kind, (including service animals) are NOT allowed on the parking lot premises or canyon.

The tour was a personalized event, where our tour guide took time to explain the Navajo culture and beliefs and how they used the local plants and herbs. Very educational and interesting. The three slot canyons were beautiful with very interesting structures. The hike was with moderate difficulty. I am not very athletic and struggled a little towards the end. But my guide was patient and never let me feel rushed or uncomfortable.

We (4 adults) did the full Wind Pebble Canyon hike with Jean as our guide. Everything was better than we expected! Jean taught us so much about desert plants and their uses as well as about Navajo history, life and culture. The canyons were amazing and we really enjoyed the fact that there were no crowds to contend with and the hike was so peaceful and unhurried. We would definitely recommend this tour company.

We chose the Rams Head tour and loved it! We had 5 kids ranging from 6 to 12 who have all had lots of hiking experience before. The hike was fun and involved cable assists and ladders. The main difference is that this is on their family land and we were the only ones in the entire canyon. No crowds at all. It was so much fun, amazing sights, and great guides (Mel and Jean). Highly recommend to anyone wanting to avoid the crowds and have a good hike too.

Such a great morning exploring a couple of canyons on the land with Natasha. She was so friendly and a wealth of information. I had so much fun chatting with her and learning about the land, the city, and the Navajo culture. Definitely a highlight of my trip. I was happy to have done the early morning hike. It was the perfect temperature too.

absolutely wonderful trip to upper antelope canyon! Our guide, Connie, was very knowledgeable, and pointed out some really good spots not only for pictures but to explain the intricacies of the canyon itself!

We did the upper antelope Canyon tour with this company. It is a little more expensive than the lower Antelope Canyon, we booked it through an online system, the booking process was simple, and the instructions were sent out clearly to the email ID. We stayed at page Arizona, and it is a 10-minute drive from the hotel location. The drive to the area itself is beautiful, and you can see a lot of tour companies operating on both sides of the road. The tour company is easy to locate, and it has plenty of parking and have Portable Restrooms available to use. Once you reach you, go and check in at the booth and take some pictures if need be and ready for your onboarding into the van. Based on the crowd, you go into a specific van assigned for you and your family with other tourists, maybe 10 or 12. It is a 15 minute drive to the entrance of the canyon and the tour guide we had is Jake who is very knowledgeable about the canyon and very kind enough to take lot of pictures for the entire crew. The overall tour is definitely worth the money even though it is expensive, the antelope canyon is very beautiful. I will definitely visit again.

Had a fantastic tour with Ronnie this morning. He was knowledgeable and personable. He helped us take the best photos in upper antelope and took great family photos for us. And wow wow wow what a spectacular site the canyon is! Should be a bucket list destination for all.

We booked this tour of the upper part of Antelope Canyon, and even though the weather wasn't cooperating our guide Jayden managed to get us some amazing and very cool pictures. He's passionate about the Canyon and eager to share his knowledge with the visitors. Make sure you book well in advance, early during the year is best to avoid the crowds and no bag is allowed (not even a tiny one), just bring a camera and a bottle of water, that's all you need. Totally recommend this tour!

Upon advice of my aunt who went on this tour, we selected only the Upper Antelope Canyon tour (mostly level walking, no ladders). Wow, what a truly memorable experience! Connie was our guide, she was amazing! She shared her story and her family history. During the tour she gave us great pointers on taking of pictures of the very distinct features, such as the bear and eagle, and also took photos of us along the way. Connie made this an experience of a lifetime. We could not ask for a better guide.

Great tour company to see the beautiful Antelope Canyons! They don't allow any bags just a bottle of water and a camera or your phone. The canyons are beautiful and it's best to go in the spring or fall when the weather is perfect and not too crowded as well. Our tour guides Jay and Irene were awesome and they did a great job explaining the significance of these canyons especially to the Navajo people. They are sacred sites to them and should be treated with respect. Beautiful place to visit!

Summary: Will try to get you on any tour changes, cancellations. They seem to operate on a "got ya" business model. I would not recommend booking with this company unless you're 120% certain you're making it to the booked tour. Details: We booked two tours with them for the total of 5 people. Eight days before scheduled tours, I was in excruciating tooth pain and saw my dentist who found a fractured root and infection running rampant. Recommended to surgically remove the tooth and install an implant. After scheduling multiple dental surgeon appointments for this procedure, it became clear we're not making the tours.I reached out to the company explaining the situation and asking for a full refund. Offered to provide dentist notes. Also checked their tour availability and they had space available for the tours we booked. So, we were not holding anyone back from booking. Talked to La Shanda, explaining the situation. Apparently she was perfectly happy to take a percentage from our refund regardless of our situation. We can't attest to the quality of their tours, but would not deal with a company that is "heartless" and is just looking to get your for more money.

Connie was the best tour guide! She shared so many fun facts and history of the Navajo people. This business had the best accommodations to and from the canyons. Very user friendly. Would 10/10 recommend this guide company!
