The Portuguese today don't need to travel so much, they have it all at home. Miles of coast and golden beaches, beautiful mountains, rivers, warm weather, green golf courses and fantastic food. There is plenty of historic buildings and museums in Lisbon and Porto is even a UNESCO site. You don't have to be bored - here you can surf, play golf, watch the sunset, dine alfresco close to or at historic sites or at the beach, and step back in time in sleepy fishing villages. We know what gets asked a lot about bringing groups to Portugal. Here’s our fast track answers, so you know.

Lisbon region – all year around Porto region – from March to November Algarve: For conferences – all year round except, July and August For incentives – from June to October, except August

In Lisbon the airport is 20min away from the city centre, with normal traffic. In Porto the airport is 25min away from the city centre, with normal traffic. In Algarve, Faro Airport is 15min away from the city centre, but up to 1h30 to further cities. The most popular resorts are around 30-45min from the Airport.

Here, all the street shops are open from Monday to Friday, and some during Saturday morning. You can stroll along Shopping Malls every day, including holidays, except on Christmas Day and New Year’s day.

In some restaurants only if considering exclusivity. Others are more flexible with service times and allow more flexibility: you can either have dinner at 6pm or at midnight!

Portugal is a wine country, many of our wines have won international awards and we are the world’s leading cork producer – we need it for our wine bottles!

Portugal has a mild climate and the sun shines almost all year round! The best time to visit Portugal extends from May to September, when the sun is out all the time and temperatures are hot - but not too much!

You can have many different travel experiences in Portugal, so the duration of a stay can vary a lot! The minimum stay is 3 nights to visit Lisbon or Porto, 5 nights if you want to combine both cities, and at least a week to add on the coast, Madeira or in the Douro valley.

You can combine Portugal with Spain, but also within Portugal discover the the Atlantic islands of Madeira or Azores.

The currency is Euro, and credit cards are widely accepted.

Oporto, frequently referred as the Capital of the North, offers the delights of a riverside city as it is magnificently situated on the mouth of the Douro River, from where boats leave to sail up the beautiful river. To visit Oporto is to discover a passionate history, a fog-covered river, the flavour of tradition in a glass of Port; it is to stand before a medieval town and its historical and cultural evolution. UNESCO has recently designated Porto as a World Heritage City which is a fitting recognition not only of its beauty sculpted in granite, but also of the unforgettable panorama of its historic centre with narrow streets and typical houses arrayed like a cascade right down to the river, and of its passionate history which determined the country’s destiny.

After lunch walk through the coastal quarter of Passeio Alegre to the Old Collection Trams starting point where group will board in exclusive trams. Old Collection Tram ride through the road following the river from the Sea Mouth Quarter “Foz” (Passeio Alegre) to Downtown historical centre. During the tram ride Port wine will be served GRAHAMS WINE CELLARS – Port wine cellar The Graham’s Port Lodge is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Graham’s Ports and Port in general. It operates from within the Graham’s lodge, built in 1890 for the storage and maturing of the company’s wines in the best possible conditions. The lodge is still in use today, making Graham’s one of the very few working Lodges still operational after 100 years. Visit includes the Museum, the wine cellars ending with a Port wine tasting in the Main room or in a Private room.
