Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle will bring their tour to Liverpool this year

Comedy giants Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are coming to Liverpool later this year.

The two comedians are bringing their co-headlining show to the UK this September and, due to demand, have announced a show at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena . The Liverpool show will take place ahead of their two huge London performances and tickets are on sale now at LiveNation.co.uk and Ticket Quarter .

Dave Chappelle was awarded the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humour from the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in 2019. His work in stand-up comedy, writing, producing and acting has earned him more than 30 nominations and awards in television and film.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Chris Rock has ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer, and director. He recently wrapped production on the upcoming Higher Ground produced biopic, 'Rustin' and David O'Russell's 'Amsterdam' film, which is set for release later this year. Rock is also set to direct an untitled project in 2023.

Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are coming to Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena on Thursday, September 1. Tickets go on sale at 10am this Friday, August 5 at LiveNation.co.uk and Ticket Quarter .

Dave Chappelle to play intimate London gigs

Last-minute announcement for work-in-progress shows this week

 Dave Chappelle has announced a run of intimate work-in-progress shows in London this week.

The acclaimed American comedian will be at the Leicester Square Theatre on Thursday and Friday, with two shows at the Bush Hall in Shepherd Bush on Sunday.

Chappelle has won six Emmy Awards and five Grammys as well as the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor – although his recent work has come under fire for perceived transphobia.

His work-in-progress shows are titled The Process and tickets go on sale at 10am on Wednesday.

Comedy's finest, American comedians Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are all set to team up for a joint UK stand-up show early next month.

It started as a one off show taking place on Saturday, September 3rd at London's 02 Arena, but fans can now get their hands on tickets for two extra dates to see the comedy duo, and tickets go on sale today!

The extra dates will take place on the September 1st, at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool and another date has been added for London's 02 Arena on the September 4th.

Tickets are still tickets remaining for the original date of September 3rd, but availability is low so if you want to get your hands on tickets for any of the dates, you'll want to snap them up quick as tickets are set to sell out fast.

So if you're planning to get your hands on a pair of these hot tickets - here's where:

Liverpool M&S Bank Arena, September 1 - 7.30pm

• London 02 Arena: Saturday, September 3 - 7.30pm

London 02 Arena: Saturday, September 4 - 7.30pm

Earlier this year, the world watched as actor Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face whilst presenting at the Oscars. Dave Chappelle tickets for intimate London tour are officially selling for £336

Dave Chapelle has added five more nights to his run of intimate London gigs next month, with tickets priced at up to £336.50 on Ticketmaster.

Following the announcement, standard tickets priced at £100 sold out almost instantly, with slower Chapelle fans left with the choice of paying between £246.50 and £336.50 for "Platinum" tickets to see the US comedian on stage.

Those heading to resale site Viagogo will get even more of a shock – select tickets are selling on the platform for up to a staggering £536.

Earlier this week, the Emmy award-winning stand-up revealed he would be performing a five-night residency at the Leicester Square Theatre between February 9 and 13, before adding dates between February 16 and 20.

The theatre has a capacity of just 400, an intimate venue significantly smaller than the Adelphi Theatre and Hackney Empire where Chapelle performed last year .

After gaining fame as a stand-up during the 1990s, the comedian went on to front his own sketch show, Chapelle’s Show, in the US from 2003. He left the show in 2005, a decision that reportedly cost him more than $50m.

Chapelle resumed touring in 2013, and in 2016 signed a deal with Netflix for three comedy specials.

Mark Twain award-winner, Dave Chappelle is a comedian, actor, and producer who’s brash, clever, in-your-face brand of humor has made him one of the most respected entertainers of his generation. In March 2017, Chappelle returned to television via streaming giant Netflix with two highly-anticipated specials,  The Art of Spin , and  Deep in the Heart of Texas , filmed in Los Angeles, CA and Austin, TX respectively. The critically-acclaimed specials satisfied his fans and introduced a new legion of followers to his sidesplitting, thought-provoking style of political and social commentary.

In 2005, Chappelle walked away from his groundbreaking sketch comedy show,  Chappelle’s Show  on Comedy Central. During the 8 years that followed, he performed pop-up stand-up dates, made occasional television appearances, and toured extensively throughout the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Canada and Australia. From intimate comedy clubs to theaters and arenas, Chappelle’s live performances often sold out within minutes of being announced.

Comedy Central ranks Chappelle as Number 43 of the “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time.” Esquire Magazine has called him “the comic genius of America,” and he was featured on the cover of GQ Magazine ’s Man of the Year issue in 2015. Dave Chappelle announces UK residency at London’s Leicester Square Theatre

The comedian promises an hour of brand new material

Dave Chappelle has announced plans for a five night residency at London’s Leicester Square Theatre this February.

The award-winning US comedian will perform from February 9 – 13, with what he promises to be an hour of brand new material.

Tickets for Chappelle’s London run will go on sale at 10am on Friday (January 24), and are expected to cost roughly £60.

He will be performing at the Leicester Square Theatre, following Stewart Lee’s recent residency. Chappelle’s shows tend to enforce a strict no-mobile phones policy, asking audience members to leave their devices in secure pouches at security.

Meanwhile, Chappelle caused controversy when he released his latest  Netflix  special Sticks and Stones in 2019.

The show featured a segment on “cancel culture” in which Chappelle responded to  Leaving Neverland , the documentary in which Michael Jackson ’s accusers spoke out.

“This is the worst time ever to be a celebrity,” said Chappelle. “You’re gonna be finished. Everyone’s doomed. Michael Jackson has been dead for 10 years, and this n**** has two new cases.”

His comments prompted Jackson’s accusers James Safechuck and Wade Robson to hit back with the former saying: “I’m heartbroken for all those children who look to see how they will be received when they finally find the courage to speak out about their sexual abuse.

“I just want to reach out to other survivors and let them know that we can’t let this type of behaviour silence us. Together we are strong.”

After an explosive and contentious Netflix special in 2021, Dave Chappelle is hitting the road again.

The veteran comedian has announced the dates for a fall stand-up comedy tour, titled “Dave Chappelle Live,” which will open with twin dates at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Aug. 22-23 and conclude at Chicago’s United Center on Oct. 4.

Chappelle has been a controversial figure following his 2021 Netflix special “The Closer,” in which he made jokes about transgender people, leading to  company walkouts  and protests last October. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos originally defended Chappelle, saying in statement that the comedian is “one of the most popular stand-ups today” and “as with our other talent, we work hard to support their creative freedom — even though this means there will always be content on Netflix some people believe is harmful.” Sarandos ultimately said he “screwed up” in his reaction to the Chappelle backlash.

The comedian made headlines again in 2022 when he was attacked on stage  while performing a comedy set during the Netflix Is a Joke festival in Los Angeles.

Unresponsive child taken to hospital after being pulled from Pawtucket pool, police say

P AWTUCKET – A 9-year-old boy was unresponsive on Wednesday after searchers found him in a swimming pool on Oak Hill Avenue, according to the Pawtucket police.

Police initially responded at 2:45 p.m. to a home on nearby Marbury Street for a report of a missing child, said Pawtucket police Detective Sgt. Christopher E. LeFort.

The pool where the child was found was nearby.

Lifesaving measures were performed, and the boy was later taken to the emergency room at Hasbro Children's Hospital, Lefort said. He had no further information on the boy's condition late Wednesday afternoon.

An investigation by Pawtucket police detectives continues.
