HIGHEST ALTITUDE

There is an interesting story about the Chandrakhani Pass. In ancient times, the presiding God of Malana, God Jamlu was carrying all the gods in a pot on this route. He opened the basket full of Gods on top of the Chandrakhani pass. A strong wind blew the gods away and they settled in various spots in the valley. Which is why even now the Kullu valley is called the valley of gods.

This trek is a cultural treasure for those who want to know more about the Kullu Valley. The villages, the architecture, the people, and the culture are a living history book. The trek is also an ancient shepherd's trail. So don’t be surprised to find hundreds of sheep herded by a shepherd on your trail. The many shepherd huts on the way are good rest points. Some may even offer you tea!

The trek is also known for the beauty of its forests on either side. It lifts trekkers spirit with joy. The forests are cool, dark and throws in a lot of variety. At times you are under deodar trees, at others you have maples over you, then oaks. The forests have almost been crafted for whistling through them. The smell of the woods is always with you.

Once outside the tree line, the grasslands of the upper Kullu valley is a delightful trek. If you have a clear sky the views of both the Pir Panjal and Dhauladhar ranges dominate the horizon.

Finally, the ridge walk to the summit is rare. In none of our treks do we have a ridge walk, almost like walking on a cornice to the summit (in this case the pass). The wind on the summit ridge can be strong, yet the adventurous thrill of getting to the pass is high. The view on all sides is astounding.

We do not take the direct sharp descent from the pass to Malana. Instead, we go further ahead to the Dadru forest area and camp there.

The Chandrakhani pass has a lot of history, culture and stories around it. Trekkers have yet another terrific trek to do in July-August in Himachal Pradesh.

What We Like About the Chandrakhani Pass Trek

1 . the mixed forest trail .

The forests on this trek are out of the world. They are dense. The variety surprises you.

You enter the forest trail as soon as you are out of the Rumsu village. You trek in the deep dense forest filled with pine, deodar and maple trees. Chirping of birds, scent of wood and rustling of leaves makes you feel like you are in a different world altogether.

Then as you go higher, the rhododendron trees welcome you. An entire section from Naya Tapru to Chaklani dominated by rhododendron trees is a beautiful trail to trek on.

As this was not enough, the forests on the other side of the pass are equally beautiful. And a pleasant descent under the tall dense tree cover is exactly what you need after a long summit day!

2 . The adventurous pass crossing

The pass crossing on Chandrakhani Pass trek is quite an adventurous one.

On the summit day, you are in for a treat. Unlike any other pass crossing, the summit on this trek is ridge walk. And this ridge walk is not a short one. It’s almost 3 km long!

Walking on a ridge at 11,800 ft is not easy. But, Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal ranges keep you company. Astounding views of Kullu and Manali region take your breath away.

To experience this high altitude ridge walk alone, this trek is a must do.

3 . The stunning mountain views

The Chandrakhani Pass trek is known for its mountain views.

Not just on the summit day, you start witnessing stunning snow-capped mountains from the very first campsite. You see Mt Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Indrasan Peak and many more. They play hide and seek as you navigate further through the forest section and various clearings.

On Summit day, when you are walking on the ridge, on your left lies the Dhauladhar range and to the right is the Pir Panjal range that further extends to the Parvathi range. The grandeur of these views is mind-boggling. You may have a hard time deciding which side to look at!

5 Reasons Why Indiahikes

chandrakhani trek

When we brought out new trails in Indian trekking, safety came with us. Back in 2012, we were the first to introduce microspikes, and two years later, pulse oximeters became standard thanks to us. Nobody does safe treks like Indiahikes. In the mountains, emergencies don't care who you're with – everyone knows that when trouble hits, you look for the yellow tents of Indiahikes.

chandrakhani trek

We are pioneers in trekking. Since 2007, we have brought out treks that have become India's most famous treks: Roopkund, Rupin Pass, Buran Ghati, Kedarkantha, Kashmir Great Lakes, Tarsar Marsar, Brahmatal, Phulara Ridge—the list goes on. In 2023 alone, we brought out five new treks in Indian trekking. We know treks better than anyone . This comes directly from the reason why Indiahikes was born: to bring out trek information and enable trekkers to trek on their own.

chandrakhani trek

More than 25,000 people trek with us every year. We are the largest trekking organisation in India. 24% of our trekkers come back to trek with us every year. Over 4,000 students from the top educational institutions trek with us every year. Aside from this, families with children choose to trek with Indiahikes knowing that our treks are the safest. We have taken over 8000 children trekking so far, and the number continues to grow.

chandrakhani trek

We focus on designing transformative experiences. Our trek leaders conduct thought-provoking exercises that help you reflect and contemplate. This impact stays with you for a long time. Trekkers return feeling energised, more confident, or developing abilities to deal with difficulties. Many have changed careers, rethought their core values, become more humble, shown gratitude to others, or started a new fitness journey.

chandrakhani trek

Since 2012, we have pioneered sustainable practices that have become standard in trekking. Using eco-bags, our trekkers have cleared over 120 tonnes of litter from the mountains. We do not carry packaged foods; instead, we serve freshly made food. We do not light campfires; we carry coal to light angethis to keep you warm. Our bio-toilets not only keep our toilets odour-free but also enrich the soil. When you trek with us, you leave mountains better.

Small Group Size

Our batch sizes are capped at 15 for smaller treks with the trek leader and trekker ratio of 1:8. This ratio, in our years of experience, has proven to deliver the best trekking experience for individuals as well as groups. Capping the size of the group ensures individual attention to each trekker so that no signs of distress or need during the trek go unnoticed. It also helps to form a more cohesive cohort with better group energy which helps define the rhythm and pace of days on the trek. As you go higher up on the BRS scale, since the stakes are higher, expeditions have an even smaller group size with the ratio of expedition leader to climber set at 1:2.

Safety & Fitness

Safety Protocols:

While our itineraries are designed to allow for adequate acclimatisation, most treks in the Indian Himalayas climb quickly, which is called forced ascents. Unavailability of camp sites and the Indian Himalayan terrain are the reasons for this. There are chances that you will feel the effects of altitude sickness and oxygen deprivation while on this trek. Please be aware that your trek leader may deem it unsafe for you to continue trekking at any time, and will arrange for you to descend to a lower attitude.

Our trek leaders will conduct routine health checks at all camps to measure oxygen saturation, pulse and blood pressure. Adventure Club Pune reserves the right to exclude any trekker from climbing higher on the trek without refund if the trekker’s vital readings are below accepted norms for that altitude. These norms are available with our trek leaders.

This is a high altitude trek with rough, rocky and snowy terrain. It is important that you are a fit and confident walker in mountain terrain, able to manage ascents and descents by yourself within a reasonable time. Adventure Club Pune reserves the right to send a trekker back if, in the opinion of our trek leader, they are unable to complete the itinerary without requiring exclusive assistance. Please realistically self-assess your fitness and suitability for this trek before registering.                                                                          Monitoring health on a trek

Any abnormal reading will be paid special attention to and action will be taken immediately.

On the trek, your Trek Leader will be monitoring two aspects a day.

Oxygen Level

Pulse Rate

High Altitude Medical Kit

Your trek leader will also be carrying a full-fledged high altitude medical kit. This will include basic medicines and specific medicines catering to altitude sickness – Diamox, Dexamethasone . Your Trek Leader will also be carrying a portable oxygen cylinder throughout the trek. In addition to that, there are oxygen cylinders installed at all high campsites for any emergency situations.

Fitness Required :

The Hampta Pass trek is classified as a trek of easy to moderate grade. You start from an altitude 9,700ft at Sethan and you reach the highest point of 14,200ft at Hampta Pass. You have to make sure your lungs are strong for this. Being hydrated and well nourished on the trek

You need to drink a minimum of 4 litres of water every day during the trek to ensure that you’re well hydrated. De-hydration on a trek can make you lose energy very quickly and intensify the effects of AMS. Your trek leader will brief you about the amount of water that you need to carry with you at the start of each day as well as water sources on the trail.

We provide trekkers with nutritious meals to ensure that they are energized to complete the trail each day. Apart from this, snacks or packed lunch is provided wherever the trail before a meal break is likely to be long. Make sure that you do not skip any meal as this can lead to serious health emergencies on high altitudes.

With all these processes and equipment in place, you can be rest assured that you will have a safe trek with us.

Flexibility:

Another aspect that will help you trek comfortably is flexibility. For this, you can do some stretching exercises – stretch your hamstrings, quadriceps, hip flexors, lower back muscles and shoulders regularly. On your trek, it is important that you arrive on the slopes with your muscles relaxed. Carrying a backpack, however light, can become a strain after a while. These exercises will help you to be in good shape before the trek.

Breathing exercises

If you’re trekking to Hampta pass, note that the temperature drops to around -3 to 5 degree Celcius at night. During the day, the temperature will be at around 10 to 12 degrees. This extreme temperature could make breathing slightly difficult. Doing breathing exercises before the trek will help. Expand your lungs and learn to breathe deep. This will help you inhale more oxygen and help you breathe comfortably.

Jog/Run for 5 Kms in 25-30 mins or Walk continuously for 10 km (with 3-4 small breaks) on plain terrain (slight incline is better)

Hold your breath for 40 seconds

3 sets of Climbing 30 – 40 steps in one stretch

Push Ups – 10

Lunges & Squats – 15 X 2 sets

 Risk & Response

 High Altitude Treks: Risk and Response A high altitude trek calls for an adventurous attitude, but embarking on an adventurous trip without calculating the risks is utter stupidity. That’s why we have listed a few risks and the response planned by us to minimise or address the risks in the best possible way.

 Risk: Altitude Before you start the trek, it is important to understand the implications of high altitude on your body. Be aware of symptoms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) like mild headache, nausea and general discomfort.

 Response: If you feel any of these symptoms, inform the trek leader on priority and follow his instructions. Every campsite has as stretcher, fully equipped first aid kit, oxygen cylinders to address the situation.

 Risk:  Weather is unpredictable in the Himalayas. Though we are always observant about the changing weather, no one can guarantee a snowfall, rain or Sun. Do understand that your security is of utmost importance to us and we will not proceed any further from the campsite if the weather is not favourable.

 Response: The decision of the Trek Leaders and Guides to proceed or wait for the weather to get better will be final.

 Risk: Injuries Often, while trekking over difficult terrains, you might have minor injuries like leg sprain, bruises etc. Serious injuries like fractures or major cuts are very rare.

 Response: All our Trek Leaders are Certified Wilderness First Aid responders. They are trained to handle emergencies and can tackle minor injuries with a well-equipped first aid kit. In case of serious injuries, the patient is carried on a stretcher to the nearest road-head and is led to nearest medical centre.

 Risk: Lack of communication devices In the remote areas of the Himalayas, mobile networks do not reach. On a trek, one is cut off from the world of calls, SMSs or watsapps.

 Response: We rely on walkie-talkies and runners to communicate between the campsites and the base camps.

  • Need help for booking
  • Himalayan Treks & Expeditions
  • Himalayan Treks in Himachal Pradesh

About Place: This is one of the most captivating treks in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh. At an altitude of 9,938 feet, lies the village of Malana also known as the village of Taboo. Malana is considered as one of the oldest democracies in the world and it is widely believed that people of Malana are direct descendant of Greeks, who visited India during one of their campaigns under Alexander the Great. The Malana - Chandrakhani Pass trek begins at Naggar after a short drive from Manali off the left bank of River Beas. After crossing the Chanderkhani Pass (3600m), this trek gets to the Malana village, famous for its distinct and very reserved social culture. Care and respect for local customs is essential.

Trip Highlights: * Chandrakhani Pass is one of the most beautiful places at an altitude of 3,660 m located in the Kullu valley. Chandrakhani Pass offers fabulous views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parvati range of mountains. * Malana is an ancient Indian village in the state of Himachal Pradesh. This solitary village in the Malana Nala, a side valley of the Parvati Valley to the north-east of Kullu Valley, is isolated from the rest of the world with its own lifestyle and social structure and people are strict in following their customs.

June to October: The best time to trek at Chandrakhani Pass in Himachal Pradesh, is from June to October. During this period, the weather is calm, and you can enjoy beautiful views of the Himalayan ranges.

Always checking the weather forecast before planning your trip is important because sometimes monsoons can make the trek slippery. The Chandrakhani pass is covered in snow during this time, making the trek difficult and dangerous due to disbalance and extreme cold. Facilities for trekkers are usually closed, and there are better times for trekking.

As the snow melts in late spring (April and May), before the monsoon season, the meadows start rising with alpine flowers. You will require at least 4 weeks of good training for this trek. To start preparing, you can work on your cardio by walking and then jogging. At the beginning of the walk, your goal should be to travel 5 km in 35 minutes easily.

Day 1: Report at Naggar, Naggar to Chachogi

The meeting point of the trek is Naggar which is where you will be reporting on day one. From Naggar, a small, beautiful town in the Kullu district, you will begin the trek. The tranquil village of Naggar is found on the east bank of the River Beas, tucked away among the hills. From here, you will begin your trek towards Chachogi village. Chachogi is a small village of Naggar Tehsil itself, and its 2 km from Naggar. It is an easy hike taking you to the beauty Kullu Valley beholds for trekkers. At the end of the trek, you will reach the homestays in Chachogi where you’ll spend the night. Unwind and refuel yourself for the next day after dinner and catching up with the fellow trekkers.

Day 2: Chachogi to Stelling/Ghan Kraree

On day 2, wake up to a beautiful sunrise in Chachogi, from where your trek to Stelling will begin. From here, a direct path will lead you to Stelling, which is 1350 metres above sea level. It is a 5-6 hour long trek taking you through the nature and sceneries. You will arrive at your campsite at the end of your five to six-hour trek. You'll spend the night in tents beneath the stars.

Day 3: Stelling/Ghan Kraree to Naya Tapru

On the next day, we will start to ascend towards Naya Tapru. The trail is difficult and heavily snow-covered. Although it may be challenging to walk on deep snow, the sensation is unmatched. Rhododendron, birch, oak and wild chestnut trees along the trail. The only things visible are trees and enormous boulders, and snow all around. The view improves as you ascend the peak. Until Shedu Pather, the ascent route is completely encircled by a thick forest. The woodland suddenly gives way to a big meadow after crossing some enormous rocks along the route. Beyond the area with white rocks is an open hill; the area is known as Shedu Pathar. One would be fortunate to discover themselves there if their efforts weren't for nothing. While on the same meadow as Shedu Pather, Naya Tapru is a little higher. As a consequence, Naya Tapru offers a clear view of the powerful Dhauladhar, Hanuman Tibba, and Priyadarshini ranges. It's impractical to stop yourself from taking photos, doing slides, and playing in the snow.

Day 4: Naya Tapru to Chanderkhani top and back to Naya Tapru

Today, we will trek towards the Chanderkhani top. The trail isn't very rough at the beginning of the trek. You start gaining a larger perspective of the surroundings as the treeline becomes more thin. Rhododendron trees dominate this trail. You continually acquire height as you trek to the Chandrakhani Pass, the highest point of the trek. The most beautiful natural scenery of the majestic Himalayas may be found at Chanderkhani Pass (12,185 ft). An almost three-kilometre ridge trek is required from the Chandrakhani pass till you begin descending to the Magic Valley. Compared to other pass treks in the Himalayas, this route is unique due to its ridge walk. Large snow patches can be found at the summit, where you can enjoy sliding on them, or occasionally you can find yourself standing atop the entire snow-covered mountain. The Dhauladhar range may be seen from its summit, to your left. The Pir Panjal range is to your right, and it continues into the Parvathi range. You can see numerous peaks, including Mt. Hanuman Tibba, Friendship Peak, Shikar Beh, Indrasan Peak, and others. Along with these snow-capped summits, Kullu Valley's panoramic vistas of its many forested undulating hills further enhance the beauty of the entire area. After passing the highest point, you will descend and return to the ""Naya Tapru"" campsite (9,970 ft). From here, you can have soothing views of most of the Himalayan ranges from a great distance. So, one can just sit back and enjoy a mesmerising sunset with a hot cup of tea in hand.

Day 5: Naya Tapru to Naggar

Here comes the final day of your trek as you’ll start descending today back to Naggar. Following breakfast, everyone will begin the descent to Naggar base camp. As we proceed through the dense vegetation, a clay surface marking the end of the trek comes into view. The descent path takes around 4 hours and it finally ends in Naggar. Chandrakhani Pass Trek Reviews

I was there with one of my friends to enjoy the break. We accidentally planned that we have to travel. And from the upper we saw the beauty of nature it's awesome to enjoy these views.

The passage to Chandrakhaini pass is a lush green breathtaking scenery, the most beautiful trek in the Kullu district. It was a memorable trek.

You get to see different types of terrains and each having their own beauty. Experience trekking through barren land, Meadows, Forest, Rocks & Boulders, and some snow (depends when you are traveling).

Chandrakani Pass is famous for trekking. The Photographic view was excellent. We have taken a lot of photos of this place. It's a fantastic place.

Chandrakhani Pass is a remote/offbeat landmark near Malana village in Himachal.. One can trek to the Pass from Naggar - Rumsu, as well as from Malana. We stayed the night at the Malana Valley view hotel and proceeded to Chandrakhani the next morning.. The trek is not easy. You continuously walk at a steep incline for around 3 to 3.5 hours. It is very exhausting, and also a strain on the legs. But trust me it was an amazing trip I had ever seen in my life.

A chandrakhani pass is an excellent place for trekking and observing nature at its best in the area. Very famous tourist place and a highly recommended place to visit.

Excellent Trek for soft adventure enthusiasts & nature lovers. One of the best & frequented treks in Himachal Pradesh.

If you are up for a stiff trek, I would suggest you take the Chanderkhani trek from the sleepy little village of Jari in the Kullu district. You can start early, like me, and by early afternoon, you will be in the world-famous "Pot Capital of the World" Malana Village". You can spend some time here before proceeding to higher ground.

Chanderkhani pass is a very beautiful place on the top of Kullu valley. one can go there only by trekking. fabulous view of Kullu valley from the top. its a gate way to maulana valley too. Nice...................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Jayshree Rathi

Chandrakhani Pass is a remote/offbeat landmark near Malana village in Himachal. One can trek to the Pass from Naggar - Rumsu, as well as from Malana. It took us 2.5 hours to come back down which means that for around 6 hours there is no food/water. Luckily there were some locals from Kullu who were kind enough to offer us some lunch that they had prepared.

WINTER CHANDRAKHANI PASS TREK - Tour

WINTER CHANDRAKHANI PASS TREK

  • Best Price Guaranteed
  • Instant Confirmation
  • Secure & Easy Booking

Region: Naggar/Manali

The Chanderkhani Pass located in the middle of lush green Kullu valley is the most famous trek of Himachal Pradesh. The Chanderkhani Pass trek is done in any season. But the trek done in winter has a different charm and experience. In winter the trek offers great views of snow laden forests, mountains, meadows, peaks like Inderasan, Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba and some prominent ranges such as Bara Banghal Range, Pir Panjal Range, Priyadarshini range. This trek can be done by anyone, even those who have been less to the mountains.

The trek starts from Naggar,  located on the left bank of a river Beas, at 1800m., an ancient town and former capital of Kullu (till 1460 AD). Rich culture, traditional houses, great temples and beautiful locations are the specialty of Naggar. One can enjoy visiting Art gallery, Naggar Castle and many other places in the surrounding. Situated in the middle of the Kullu Manali valley Naggar is approachable even in the heavy snowfalls. In winter the snowfall turns the valley into heaven.

The trail for Chanderkhani Pass actually starts from the Rumsu village. Rumsu is an ancient tribal village just few km’s above Naggar. The trail to the pass passes through in the middle of the village. The temples in the village have beautiful intricate carvings. Houses made with wood and stone are interesting to see the rural architecture. The huge Deodar trees can be seen in the middle of Rumsu village. These trees sited in the surrounding of the temple, are meant to be sacred and holy trees as in the whole valley. These trees are so huge that it takes a bunch of people to circle it around.  Going further from Rumsu the trail brings us to the initial uphill through the forest. The trail till the campsite is full with dense forests of Deodar, pine and oak trees.  One can encounter huge trees en route too. While climbing up we reach at the place called Stelling, a pastoral meadow which normally is covered with snow in winter.  Have lunch and spend some time at Stelling cause further on the snowy trail will start.  The conditions and the ratio of snowfall will decide the beginning of snow trail. It could start from the woods above Rumsu village or further up from Stelling or below. So snow will appear somehow on the trail sooner or later. Treading on the snow is not easy as beautiful it looks in a picture. Though walk slowly and steadily that you won’t slip or fall. Few ups and downs then we reach at Ghon Kradi. Our first day s camp at Ghon Kradi, is mainly a little meadow with huge trees all around and abandoned shepherds shelter.  ‘Ghon-Kradi’ in the local dialect means ‘Hammer and the Axe’. It is one of the places from where locals used to collect wood for winter. A bonn fire is appropriate on such chilly temperature in the evening. So spend a beautiful night with lighting up the camp fire at Ghon Kradi. After Ghon Kradi an enchanting trail to Naya Tapru will continue. The route to Naya Tapru consists of great snow on the way up with trees and its branches almost immersed and wrapped with snow. Some smaller trees and a lot more vegetation is seen lost under the great snow. Walking on the deep snow could be a challenge, but with strong will and endurance one can easily pass these obstacles. As you go up the trail, the whole of the Beas valley opens up to you. You begin to see the Dhauladar Range beyond the Beas valley in all its snowcapped glory. The terrain leading uphill is slightly steep on just below the Naya Tapru (9,970ft). However the scenic beauty around would make one to forget fatigue and discomfort. At naya tapru you can have soothing views of most of the Himalayan ranges from a great distance. After spending quality time at Naya Tapru we head back towards the campsite at Ghon Kradi.  One should reach the camp by the late afternoon. Stay another wonderful night at Ghon Kradi making Bonn fire on the snow.. Next day climb down to roadhead following the same route till Rumsu.  From Rumsu ride back to Naggar by local conveyance.

Departure tariff  5,500/- excluding GST of 5%

The trail has concrete stairs at initial, but disappears with muddy terrain after few minutes. The route is moderately difficult. There are few very steep patches; otherwise the trail is not bad. The trail goes through the village to the mighty forest of different species. The trail takes one to the fabulous landscapes and huge forests of Naggar. One the way one will find huge trees of chestnut Deodar and oak, showing their prominence in the area. The trail might have the snowy patches on the lower heights but as you go higher the snow will appear all around. Further on, the trail will eventually lead to an open pastoral meadow which will be covered with snow at Stelling. One can have his lunch and rest at this beautiful meadow. After having lunch the trail is moderate but walking on the snow could be a challenge on the few uphills. The distance from Stelling to Ghon Kradi is not that far and one can leisurely approach the campsite. The snow laden trees of Deodar, creates a mesmerizing sight of one being in the heaven. As going up brings one to the open meadows all covered with snow at Ghon Kradi. The campsite is surrounded with chestnut, oak and pine trees. It is a grazing pasture normally used by the shepherds in the summer season. People also collect wood from this place for the winters. Evening at Ghon Kradi is as beautiful as it goes till night falls. The twilight painting the sky orange, the stars shining in the dark sky and the snow reflecting the light as one can see without torchlight, chilling nights are some of the moments one can only enjoy at this place in winter. Spend a beautiful night in your camps.

Day 3. Ghon Kradi – Naya Tapru 2900m/9000ft. – Ghon Kradi (3-4 km.) (3-4 hrs.)

On the next day we climb towards Naya Tapru. The trail is steep covered with deep snow. Walking on deep snow could be a difficulty but the experience is out of this world. The trail passes through birch, oak, wild chestnut and rhododendron trees. The trees and huge rocks are the only visible objects yet the other vegetation is covered with snow till the next summer. Since it is a hiking day one has sufficient time to reach Naya Tapru. Climbing higher the mountain better the vista gets. The way up is all surrounded by the dense forest till Shedu Pather. Suddenly after passing some huge rocks on the way the forest opens up to a vast meadow. The place with white rocks is called Shedu Pathar beyond it is open slope.  It is the place where one would find himself lucky that his effort wasn’t in vain. Naya tapru is a bit higher from Shedu pather, but on the same meadow. Therefore all the mighty ranges of dhauladhar, Hanuman tibba, priyadarshini range are clearly visible at Naya Tapru. One can’t stop himself by taking pics, doing slides and playing with snow. Naya Tapru is also a pastoral field, which is packed with sheeps and shepherds in the summers. After having an enjoyable day at Naya Tapru we climb down the same route to Ghon Kradi. On the way back one can do the sliding to avoid slipping or sinking on the snowy slopes. One can use a stick to support while walking downwards. Although walking on the snow even if you fall or slip it won’t hurt you, coz snow is soft and is all around. Descending down to the campsite is as amazing as one would have thought of real natural adventure. The encounter to the nature is so close and realistic that one would never forget this trek. We reach back at campsite by the evening. Have a hot cup of tea and relax in your camps.

Day 4. Ghon Kradi – Rumsu – Naggar (6-7 km.) (4-5 hrs.)

Following day we climb down to the road head at Rumsu. After having breakfast we start back to the village via same route. Walking on the snow isn’t that tough than on the slippery mud. Because as we climb down the snow it will slowly disappear and these wet patches will appear. Because the lower part of the mountain trail is on the clay, which once gets wet it becomes so slippery.  And it’s obvious that snow melting upwards brings water down to these mud slopes. Walking uphill creates no disturbance on these patches but one should be careful treading down on the slopes.  We take some rest at Stelling and proceed downwards. Then passing through the forest we reach at the final part of the trek that consists of clay surface. It is just above the Rumsu village but the slipperiness it causes it takes some time to overcome this patch. After it the trail is fine as one would remember the previous trekking days. Finally we reach at roadhead where our vehicle would be waiting for us after a great trekking experience.  Hop in and reach Naggar. From here you are set to go to your own destinations.

Things to Pack:  Rucksack, cotton clothes, good trekking shoes, a warm jacket, Feather Jacket, fleece jacket, warmer, woolen or monkey cap covering head and ears, UV rays protected sunglasses, raincoat, extra socks, water bottle, torch, cold cream, sunscreen, toilet soap, towel, walking Stick and medicines that you usually use.
