Jeep Vacationeer Concept Leads Four New Off-Roaders Into 2024 Easter Safari

It’s that time again. The Easter Jeep Safari is back for 2024 and a quartet of new concepts will join thousands of Jeep owners in Moab, Utah for off-roading fun. Every year Jeep brings radical new concepts to the event and this year is no different. Headlined by the Jeep Vacationeer Concept, the new off-roaders also include a Jeep Low Down Concept, a Willys Dispatcher Concept, and a Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept.

These new Jeep concepts aren’t as cool as last year’s, which included an incredible 1978 Jeep Cherokee with a modern hybrid powertrain and a 650-horsepower electric Wrangler called “Magneto.” However, they’re still pretty cool.

Jeep Vacationeer Concept

As you might imagine from the name, the Jeep Vacationeer is based on the Wagoneer , which was then transformed into a retro-styled off-road camper of sorts. Its mint green paint, with a thin stripe of wood paneling, gives it retro vibes without overdoing it, and it comes with a solar-powered, climate-controlled, carbon fiber RedTail Overland Skyloft roof tent. But it’s also a proper off-roader, with 701 Method bead grip racing wheels, 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, bumper-mounted lights, and roof-mounted lights.

Fashion designer Kiel James Patrick designed the interior, giving it Tupelo leather seats with red and yellow plaid inserts that have little Jeeps on them. The Vacationeer also lacks rear seats of any kind, for more storage. What it doesn’t lack is power, thanks to the high-output version of Jeep’s Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six making 510 horsepower.

Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept

It wouldn’t be a Jeep event without getting the Willys name in there somewhere. This time, it’s the Willys Dispatcher Concept, which is said to invoke the “nostalgia of the early post-war civilian Jeep,” according to Jeep. However, it blends that nostalgia with modern tech, as it’s based on the Wrangler 4xe hybrid.

The Willys Dispatcher might look retro cute, with its green paint and white steel wheels, but it’s a serious off-roader underneath. Those great-looking steelies are wrapped in 36-inch Super Traxion tires, it has a classic-look Warn winch, Dana 50 Avantech front and rear axles, and an onboard air compressor.

Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept

Designed to show off Jeep Performance Parts (JPP), the Gladiator Rubicon High Top is the most kitted-out Gladiator I’ve ever seen. Dana 60 axles front and rear with matching 5.38:1 gearing, an AccuAir adjustable air suspension, and monster 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A Ko3 tires wrapped around KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels make it probably the most capable off-roader Jeep is bringing to the Easter event.

It also gets a modified front bumper by American Expedition Vehicles, a Warn winch, Rock Slide Engineering rock rail power steps, and a DECKED trunk bed storage system. Making it look snazzy is a two-tone Ginger Snap metallic paint scheme.

Jeep Low Down Concept

Jeep just announced that the Wrangler 392 is heading off to the junkyard in the sky, but not before the brand makes a monster Easter concept out of it. The Low Down Concept pays tribute to the Wrangler Lower 40 concept from the 43rd Easter Safari held 15 years ago.

The old Lower 40 concept put 40-inch tires on a Wrangler with stock suspension, to keep the center of gravity low. However, Jeep went even further this time, sticking 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain tires, wrapped around beadlock wheels, on a Wrangler 392 with stock suspension. To fit the massive tires, carbon fiber high-clearance fender flares were fitted, allowing the tire necessary clearance without raising the Wrangler’s ride height. Dana 60 axles replace the stock 392’s Dana 44 axles but no changes were made to the 392-cubic inch V8, which still makes 475 horsepower.

The 58th Easter Jeep Safari is running from March 23-31, so keep an eye out for more updates on what Jeep’s new off-roader concepts are doing in Moab.

Ahead of the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari later this month, the Toledo-based automaker has teased two new concepts, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect in Moab, Utah, from March 23-31.

The first image showcases what appears to be a Wrangler painted in High Velocity with a black-painted seven-slot grille and trim details. It doesn't look that different from a standard Wrangler, but there are a few clues. The embossed 'Willys' text and font on the side of the hood are reminiscent of the original military Willys Jeep, suggesting that we may see another military-inspired build.

Jeep and the Willys nameplate are closely linked to 20th-century war efforts. US General Dwight D. Eisenhower admitted that victory wouldn't have been possible without the Willys Jeep and its capabilities.

Could This Be A Homage To The Universal Jeep?

Jeep may want to pay tribute to its roots with a build that will debut at the Easter Jeep Safari. Last year, the automaker debuted seven Easter Safari concepts , including the Jeep '41 Concept, inspired by the original Willys Jeep. Perhaps the automaker will take a different direction with the new concept, but there's also a possibility that it could be something else.

Above the hood, we can see a snippet of an old print advert titled "The Universal Jeep." This could reference the model of the same name (also known as the Jeep Universal) that Willys marketed in the 1950s and 1960s. These included the CJ-3A, CJ-3B, and early versions of the CJ-5. The build teased above could perhaps be a homage to these off-roaders.

The second model, pictured below, teases another build. But if we look at the clues properly, it won't be your average Jeep off-roader.

A V8-Powered Off-Road Racer Could Be In The Cards

The second image showcases something racier and more aggressive. What appears to be Firecracker Red has been paired with a white racing stripe that flows over the vehicle's hood. On the lower part of said stripe, we can see a blurry '392' motif that suggests it will be V8-powered.

A 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi engine is delightful in an off-roader, but we have reason to believe this won't be your average rock crawler.

Flared fenders and prominent fender vents suggest this could be a hardcore rally or Baja build, similar to the crazy Trailcat that was previewed in 2016 . Perhaps Jeep will treat the 392 motor to some performance upgrades, but we will have to wait and see whether that happens. We just know that it will look fantastic.

Jeep has said we can expect "unrivaled heritage, bold color palettes and powerful propulsion suited for any adventure" from this year's batch of creative builds.

Easter Jeep Safari 2023: alucina con estos prototipos

Este año hay un Wrangler eléctrico con más de 600 CV, un Cherokee PHEV de 1978 y un Wrangler V8 convertido en Scrambler.

Easter Jeep Safari es básicamente una gran fiesta todoterreno. Se lleva a cabo todos los años en la hermosa Moab, Utah, y el evento celebrado este 2023 se llevará a cabo del 1 al 9 de abril. No solo es una gran oportunidad para que los fanáticos de la marca se reúnan y pongan sus máquinas a trabajar, sino que también es una fantástica ocasión para que Jeep muestre sus últimos y mejores accesorios, así como varios vehículos conceptuales.

Scrambler 392.

Esta máquina de color verde comenzó su vida como un Wrangler Rubicon 392 de cuatro puertas, pero ha sido reinterpretada con el espíritu Scrambler. Cherokee 4xe 1978

Jeep también dice que actualizó el motor eléctrico del Magneto para que sea más eficiente, citando un aumento del 20 por ciento en energía utilizable y autonomía. Grand Wagoneer Overland

Este Grand Wagoneer no es como otros pues Jeep lo diseñó para la práctica del overlanding, lo que debería ser evidente por sus gruesos neumáticos de 35 pulgadas y sus amplias luces exteriores auxiliares, ah, y su enorme tienda de campaña en el techo. La potencia proviene del nuevo motor Hurricane de alto rendimiento, un bloque turboalimentado de seis cilindros en línea y 3.0 litros que entrega 510 CV.

La tienda en la parte superior del Grand Wagoneer es una estructura de fibra de carbono personalizada conocida como Skyloft de la marca RedTail Overland. No solo se puede montar en cuestión de segundos a mano, sino que también tiene climatización y puede alojar a dos personas. Jeep dice que también convirtió el techo corredizo trasero del Wagoneer en un ojo de buey para acceder a la referida tienda.

Despojado de sus filas segunda y tercera estándar, este prototipo viene con un sistema de infoentretenimiento en el asiento trasero y espacio para que los pasajeros se relajen entre puffs, cojines y una alfombra lujosa. Todo el piso ha sido revestido con el mismo material que se usa para los revestimientos de caja de pick-ups, por lo que los derrames y cosas de esa naturaleza no deberían ser un problema.

Wrangler Rubicon 4xe

Jeep dice que a la gente le encantó tanto el Wrangler Tuscadero rosa de edición limitada que quería hacer un prototipo que llevara ese extravagante trabajo de pintura aún más lejos. El resultado de eso se puede ver aquí, con este nuevo modelo de color magenta.

Junto con la pintura llamativa, este Wrangler Rubicon 4xe presenta la parrilla de siete ranuras de nuevo diseño de Jeep, que debutó en las ediciones del 20 aniversario. Su capó también tiene una calcomanía única con una apariencia de dos tonos.

Este Wrangler de color rosa púrpura se ve especialmente resistente gracias a sus neumáticos de 37 pulgadas. Están montados sobre llantas de 17 pulgadas de American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), que también suministra sus parachoques delantero y trasero. Si las cosas se ponen demasiado difíciles, hay un cabrestante Warn Zeon para remolcarlo a un lugar seguro.

Here Are Jeep’s Awesome 2024 Easter Safari Builds From Every Angle

Are these the best colored Jeeps around right now?

It’s that time of year again people, it’s Easter. And sure, that might mean it’s the season for eating too much chocolate or celebrating the anniversary of someone’s resurrection (weirdly on a different day each year) but for us here in the world of cars, it means it’s time to look at a bunch of awesome Jeep concepts.

That’s because the off-road brand is preparing to host its annual Easter Jeep Safari . Jeep will head to the desert and bring with it all manner of modified metal. This year, its special builds do not disappoint.

For the 2024 Easter Jeep Safari, Jeep put together four special trucks built around its Wrangler , Gladiator and Grand Wagoneer models. Each car is fitted with the kind of off-road upgrades you and I can only dream of, as well as all kinds of massive wheels, rugged trim and some seriously awesome color choices.

To celebrate their unveiling, we’ve put together a bunch of the best pictures of the new Jeeps that we could find. So pull up a camp chair, don your desert boots and sit back to enjoy the best the 2024 Easter Jeep Safari has to offer.

The Low Down

First up it’s the Low Down concept, which is built on Jeep’s mighty Wrangler Rubicon 392. The car was designed in homage to the Jeep Wrangler Lower 40 from 2009’s Easter Jeep Safari. As such, it packs an awesome paint scheme, massive wheels and no roof, just like its inspiration.

The One With The V8

Because this is a Wrangler 392 , there’s a stock 6.4-liter V8 motor under hood. The engine kicks out 475-horsepower and is mated to an eight-speed automatic. To show off its beating heart, Jeep’s engineers fitted the hood with a see-through section that reveals that massive engine in all its glory.

Get It In The Good Color

For the finish on the Low Down, Jeep opted for a lush poison apple red paint that pops nicely compared to the black grille and roof rails. To streamline the look of the truck, Jeep opted to remove the rear door handles, because who needs those anyway, and fitted a bespoke fuel filler door on the rear quarter.

Looks Wheelie Big

Because it’s a Jeep Safari build, the truck is finished off with a set of massive 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud-terrain tires , which are fitted to a 20-inch bead-lock wheel at each corner. Under the car, Jeep has left the Wrangler Rubicon 392 suspension as stock, but it also fitted Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears.

Willys Dispatcher

Next is the Willys Dispatcher build, which is based on Jeep’s Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. The build is said to invoke “...the nostalgia of the early post-war civilian Jeep,” according to the brand. As such, it unites an awesome paint scheme and the rugged looks of the Wrangler with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that churns out 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

Best Wheels Of The Bunch

The biggest changes on this build are in the looks department, with Jeep finishing the truck in that lovely element 115 green paint. At each corner, there’s a 16-inch steely wheel painted cream. They really pop against the Traxion 36-inch tires and teal body. To finish the retro-stylings, there’s a classic-looking Warn winch up front.

Look At That Interior

Inside the Dispatcher is a lovely trim that reminds me of my grandparents living room, in a really, really good way. But what does that look like to anyone that’s not been in their house in rural Yorkshire? Well, it’s full of tan saddle leather and a neat houndstooth pattern across the seats and dash. I dig it.

Other flourishes on the Dispatcher include a vinyl covering to protect the floor from any water that could come in through the open roof, and there’s an onboard air compressor to manage your tire pressures on the trail. To keep you moving when the going gets tough, the truck also has Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles with 4.70 gears.

The High Top

If you absolutely must have a pickup truck, I guess the new High Top build isn’t a bad way to go. Built around Jeep’s Gladiator Rubicon , the High Top concept packs in massive 40-inch off-road tires from BFGoodrich at each corner, wrapped around a set of black Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels.

How It All Works

Under the hood, the truck is powered by Jeep’s 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 engine, which has been paired with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. To get all that oomph onto the trail, Jeep gave the Gladiator High Top Dana 60 front and rear axles with 5.38:1 gearing and adjustable air suspension.

Pickup, Pickup

Because this is a pickup , there’s a whole bed out back to fill with your hopes and dreams. To maximize its useability, Jeep gave the High Top truck the latest Decked truck bed storage system, which offers additional lockable cargo space just like you get from a trunk. Imagine that.

Winching At My Heartstrings

Up front, the bumper of the Gladiator has been modified to include a custom protective hoop from American Expedition Vehicles. This sits above a Warn winch, and the High Top packs in rock rail power steps from Rock Slide Engineering to protect its underside.

Grand Vacationeer

You know what’s cooler than a ginger-colored pickup truck? A minty green Grand Wagoneer that can take you almost anywhere. This is the Jeep Vacationeer and it’s excellent. Fitted out with 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, 18-inch rims and a 1.5-inch lift, this is everything the Wagonner was born to be.

Not Enough Room To Camp In The Trunk

Inside, Jeep has ripped out the second and third rows of seats in the Wagoneer in order to install a pass-through entrance to the custom tent that’s fitted up top. The custom carbon fiber tent comes from outdoor experts Skyloft and offers climate-controlled sleeping space for two and all the windows you need to enjoy your surroundings. Is this the ultimate definition of “glamping?”

Never Forget Your Car Cacti

As well as skid plates to protect the underside and custom flared wheel arches, Jeep has also fitted the Vacationeer with a pretty stunning interior. There’s tons of earth tones and soft finishes, and the rear space has been lined with weather-proof materials to ensure the back of the Wagoneer can handle all the outdoor activities you throw at it.

Which Would You Have?

So, that’s the lineup of awesome custom Jeeps that Stellantis will take to its annual Easter Jeep Safari this year. If you could drive away today in one of them, which would you choose? My heart tells me the Low Down is the best of the bunch, but deep down I really want the overlanding Wagoneer.
