  Hi! We are Steph and Larry Ihle, two people who love flying, and we love sharing the joy!  Flying is in our blood… Larry’s father flew B-25’s and B-26’s in WWII then was a captain with Eastern Airlines for many years after the war. Larry’s brother and daughter are both private pilots and his mother met his father while she was a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. Steph’s dad also loved to fly but was not quite as traditional; he was known for ‘buzzing’ his boating friends in his amphibious ultralight over the waters around Ocracoke Island.

  Larry got his fixed wing flying license in 1981 at the age of 20 and has enjoyed flying airplane tours and helicopter tours  over the Outer Banks ever since. After a fantastic trip to New Zealand (and several helicopter flights), he became hooked on helicopters and soon after obtained his rotor wing rating.

  We really take pride and feel so privileged to be able to share the gift of flight.  Our goal is to give you the experience of a lifetime, while providing you with the most exceptional customer service, and unparalleled safety. Outer Banks Airlines' skilled pilots offer private charters, air tours and specialized air services. An FAA-certified air carrier, they fly to and from airports all over the country or to other locations. They brings a lot of people to the Outer Banks from Norfolk, Raleigh, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, New York and Boston, but they'll fly anywhere. They also offer air tours over the Outer Banks. Choose what you'd like to see and expect commentary from owner and tour operator Charlie Snow, a seasoned local, experienced pilot and retired National Park Service engineer. Outer Banks Airlines is based in Manteo but can also fly into and out of Pine Island Airstrip near Corolla, First Flight Airstrip in Kill Devil Hills, Billy Mitchell Airstrip in Frisco and Ocracoke Island Airport.  Consult the company website for detailed information on tours, charters and prices.

Fishing Unlimited has everything you need for a great fishing trip on the sound – boat rentals, rods and reel rentals, bait and tackle and ice. If you're looking to catch fresh crabs, come try it here; they have the gear to rent or buy, plus a crabbing pier. The boats they rent are 23-foot or 26-foot pontoon boats, and they'll tell you everything you need to know about handling the boats and navigating the sound. Their boat renters almost always see dolphins in the sound areas near the shop and docks. Weight Restrictions: Maximum combined Weight is 400 lbs per flight

If a passenger weighs more than 200-225 lbs only a smaller passenger would be able to ride with her/him (for instance parent and child) or the participant can ride by them-self for comfort and safety

Bench/Seat Width: keep in mind that the seat is a bench that is approximately 3 feet wide.

Flights are in an original WWII bi-plane trainer. Flights are for one or two people.
