A Video Tour of StuVi I and StuVi II

John hancock student village’s location, spectacular views, and high-rise apartment-style housing make it bu’s most sought-after campus housing.

Kreiver Zhou (ENG’23)

When StuVi I opened in fall 2000, the campus residence transformed BU. The 18-story building at 10 Buick Street provides apartment-style residences to 800 juniors and seniors. It was the first part of BU’s John Hancock Student Village (StuVi), which also includes Agganis Arena, the Fitness & Recreation Center (FitRec) (both opened in 2005), and another high-rise dorm, StuVi II, opened in 2009 at 33 Harry Agganis Way, home to 960 students. StuVi II comprises two towers: the 26-floor north tower provides apartment-style residences for juniors and seniors, the 19-story south tower is home to sophomores, juniors, and seniors in suite-style settings.

With their spectacular views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline and proximity to FitRec, Nickerson Field, Agganis Arena, the BU Shuttle, and nearby shops, StuVi I and II soon became BU’s most sought-after addresses.

In the video above, StuVi I resident Akwasi Antwi (CAS’25) and StuVi II denizen Yadira Cabrera (COM’24) take us on a tour of their respective apartments and the many amenities (music rooms, spacious study lounges, and more) that make each building special. Take a look and find out why so many Terriers proclaim “West Is Best.”
