If your Mac uses macOS Mojave 10.14.4 or newer, the iPhone or iPad will need to have iOS or iPad OS 13 or newer installed.

But once everything is set up, you'll be able to browse websites to your heart's content on one device (say, an iPad), then send it over to another (like a MacBook) to continue from the exact page you left off. • Tap your profile name at the top of the Settings menu, then select iCloud.

Once you’ve enables the sharing of these tabs using the steps above, everything else is seamless. You’ll be able to jump to any Safari tab from any device.

Go to Safari on your iPhone, and go on the Start Page . You should see your open Safari tabs from other devices on this screen under the “ From your device name ” heading. Just tap to open a site.

The steps for iPad are similar. However, to select another device, tap the name of the current device on the Start Page. Here’s how it looks:

Do the following if you don’t see Safari iCloud tabs on your iPhone or iPad:

• Tap Edit and turn on iCloud Tabs
• Force quit the Safari app and reopen it
• Make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the Internet
• Restart your device

Open Safari on your Mac, and you should see your open Safari tabs from your iPhone, iPad, and other Macs here on the Start Page. You can click the name of the device and choose another one.

Many web browsers allow you to sync tabs between devices. For example, Chrome on the desktop syncs with Chrome on your phone, etc. But what about syncing between different browsers? That's a little harder to do, but it's not impossible.

Apple Safari , Google Chrome , Mozilla Firefox , and Microsoft Edge all support syncing tabs across devices in their own way. However, that's not helpful if you use Firefox at work and Chrome at home. They can't talk to each other.

"Tab Session Manager" is an open-source extension that works with Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. It allows you to sync open tabs and windows between these different browsers. We'll show you how it works.

First, you'll need to download the extension for Chrome , Edge , or Firefox . Install it on all the browsers you want to sync together. The setup process is going to be the same on every browser.

Once the Tab Session Manager has been installed, open it from the extensions menu in your browser.

The Tab Session Manager window will open. Click the gear icon to begin setting it up.

There's a lot happening on the Settings page, but we're not going to be messing with all of it. First, give the device a name and check the "Save Device Name to Session" box. This will help identify where the tabs are from.

Next, make sure that "Save the Session Regularly" is checked. You can adjust how frequently you want the tabs to be synced and how many sessions will be stored at a time.

You can also set it so that the tabs are synced when you close a window or exit the browser. How much you have things synced is up to you.

The key ingredient to making this work between different browsers is cloud sync. By signing in with your Google account, you allow sessions to be backed up to your Google Drive and made available on other browsers.

Click "Sign in with Google" to proceed.

A message will inform you that Tab Session Manager is requesting permissions. Using this feature does require you to make some privacy sacrifices. Click "Allow" if you are fine with that.

Google's account sign-in window will open. Select your Google account and proceed to enter your credentials.

During sign-in, you'll be asked to grant Tab Session Manager permission to view and manage the data it creates in your Google Drive. Click "Allow."

That's all you need to do to set up tab syncing. Repeat these steps in every browser where you want to access the tabs.

To use Tab Session Manager, simply click the extension icon from the browser toolbar. You may need to click the sync button on the first launch.

Since we named each browser, you can easily see where the tabs are from. The title of each session is the active tab. Click a session to see all of the tabs to the right.

That's all there is to it. You may occasionally need to click the sync button to force an update, and it will ask you to sign back in to Google after a while. This may not be as simple as a built-in method, but it works if you use multiple browsers.

Note: You must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on all your devices to manage Safari tabs across your devices.

To close a tab on another Apple device, touch and hold the link, then choose Close.

How to Sync Safari Tabs Across Multiple iOS Devices

When viewing a website with Safari, the website opens in a window called a tab. Through iCloud, these tabs are available to any device running Safari. You just need to enable the sharing of Safari data in the iCloud Settings.

Enable Safari Tab Sharing

To enable Safari data sharing on an iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app and select iCloud.

If iCloud is active, you will see your Apple ID listed in the Account field at the top of the window. If iCloud is not active, you will need to sign in using your Apple ID to sync data with iCloud.

Once iCloud is active, toggle the Safari switch to the ON position to activate Safari data sharing. This will allow tabs to be shared across your devices.

All the open Safari tabs on your iPhone will appear as stacked windows. Tapping on a tab will open it. If you scroll down through all the tabs, there will be a list of open tabs from your other devices. Tapping a tab from the list will open that tab on your device.

Access Safari Tabs on the iPad

Viewing Safari tabs on the iPad is very similar to the iPhone. The open Safari tabs on your iPad will appear as windows. If you scroll down through all the tabs, there will be a list of open tabs from your other devices. Tapping a window or a tab from the list will open that tab on your iPad.

Where did Safari 15 put iCloud Tabs? On the Start Page

The iCloud Tabs feature that syncs open tabs in Safari across all your devices didn’t disappear in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and Safari 15 for macOS, but it might seem like it. Previously, you found shared tabs in these places (and also see “ What Apple operating systems work with iCloud Tabs across devices? ”):

• iOS 14/iPadOS 14 and earlier:  In Safari, tap the Tab Overview button (two overlapping rectangles) and swipe down past locally opened tabs until you see listings for other devices by name, showing each tab. Tap to open one of those in the current device’s Safari browser.
• Safari 14 and earlier in macOS:  Click the similar Tab Overview button and then see list of tabs by devices below open tabs as you scroll down. Click to open.

How to access iCloud Tabs in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS

The new approach of using the Start Page makes more sense from an organizational standpoint, but you might have been unable to find it.

• Create a new Start page. In iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, tap the + button; in Safari 15 for macOS, options vary—see below.
• Swipe or scroll down to find the name of one of your devices in large bold type with a list of its tab.
• Optionally tap or click that device name to select another Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
• Tap or click to open the tab.

Safari 15 lets you create a Start Page in several ways:

• In any tab, click the Start Page icon in the upper-left corner.
• In any tab, choose  Bookmarks > Show Start Page .
• Set  Safari > Preferences > General > New windows open with  or  New tabs open with  to Start page, and you can use Command-N or Command-T to create a new Start Page.

If you use iCloud Tabs all the time in Safari for macOS, you can also add a toolbar icon to show all your devices’ tabs at once in a dropdown menu. Choose View > Customize Toolbar , drag the iCloud Tabs icon into the position on the toolbar you want, and then click Done.

One problem with the new tab groups organization feature in iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and Safari 15 for macOS is that iCloud Tabs only shows tabs open in the currently chosen tab group on Safari on your other devices. This may mean tabs you are trying to access don’t appear.

Also, many readers have reported that iCloud Tabs can fall out of date and not list current pages open in their other devices’ Safaris. Sometimes, items listed include tabs they closed some time ago. There’s no fix for that except signing out of iCloud on your device and back in, which brings a host of other issues with it related to syncing—I don’t recommend it to solve this problem.

Help! Can't see open tabs from other devices.

Hi. Ever since I installed Big Sur, I'm unable to see open tabs on my other devices in Safari on my iMac and I cannot see open tabs on my iMac on my other devices. All devices are logged into the same Apple ID and I am not using private windows. Help!

We understand you're experiencing an issue with your Safari tabs not showing between your iMac and other devices, and we'd like to see if we can assist.

To start, make sure your other devices are all up to date:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to update the software on your Mac

Also, check to make sure that your Apple ID isn't blocked on any of your devices. On iOS, you can check this in Settings > Phone > Blocked. On iPadOS, find this in Settings > Messages > Blocked Contacts. On your Mac, check this in Messages > Preferences > Blocked.

Finally, restart each of your devices, and see if that gets your tabs showing as expected.

I have this issue also, I’ve not upgraded to Big Sur. Latest iOS and iPadOS, all the latest patches pre Big Sur. Stopped working on Big Sur release day. I refuse to update at present.

Turn on Continue apps on other devices

Once this feature is set up, you'll be able to freely switch between your two devices. But first, you need to apply certain settings to get the feature to work.

Make sure the following are true for both devices you're going to use:

• They are signed in to the same Samsung account
• They are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
• They both have Bluetooth enabled
• They both have the Continue on other devices feature enabled
• They both have One UI 3.1 or later

After your two devices meet these requirements, you can set up the feature:

• To turn on the Continue on other devices feature, navigate to and open Settings .

• Now open Samsung Internet or Samsung Notes on one device, and open a webpage or note.
• On the other device, tap the Recents icon to open your recently used apps.

PC browser continuity

If you have Phone Link and Link to Windows set up on your Windows 10 or 11 PC, you can open three of your mobile device’s recently viewed websites right on your PC! In other words, simply switch from your phone or tablet to your PC when using the Samsung Internet app.

• Make sure Phone Link and Link to Windows has been set up on your PC, and then navigate to and open the Samsung Internet app on your phone or tablet.
• Navigate to your desired website. Then, open the Phone Link app on your PC.

• When you navigate to a new website on your phone or tablet, that website will appear in the Phone Link app. Select the Samsung Internet icon to visit it.
• You can switch back to your phone or tablet at any time. The Samsung Internet app will remain open while you’re using your PC.
