The definitive Bentley

Powered by a 4.0 litre V8 engine, the Continental GT can be considered the definitive luxury grand tourer.

An object of desire

A long bonnet and short front overhang result in the ideal grand tourer profile, with sweeping lines guiding the eye from the front wheel to a muscular rear haunch.

The sleek bodyshell is made from superformed aluminium panels – large, light and streamlined, they allow the exterior to be created from fewer pieces for a smooth, almost uninterrupted surface. A silhouette like this is simply unattainable on mass-produced cars.

  • Lows Expensive to start, expensive to add options, gas-guzzling powertrains.
  • Verdict When it comes to elegance, luxury, power, and presence in a two-door grand tourer, the Continental GT cannot be beat.

What's New for 2021?

Bentley has made only a few changes to the Conti GT for the 2021 model year. Chief among them is a new panoramic glass roof that's available on the V-8-powered coupe. Otherwise, the grand-touring two-door receives an updated steering wheel design and three new colors: Viridian, Patina, and Snow Quartz.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2021 Bentley Continental GT starts at $205,225 and goes up to $246,125 depending on the trim and options.

Curiously, we prefer the least expensive of the Continental GT's four quite-expensive models, the Continental GT V8 coupe. Bentley's V-8 is a finely polished gem of an engine that gives up a touch of peak horsepower to the W-12 but makes for a coupe that's every bit as quick in real-world conditions. It's only at very high speeds that the W-12 engine's increased horsepower makes a difference. And while we like the wind in our hair as much as the next guy, we'd choose the coupe because, to our eye, the arching roofline ties together the car's style in a truly elegant way.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Updated versions of the existing V-8 and W-12 engines that powered the previous-generation Continental GT provide plenty of power. Our testing revealed that the V-8, which makes 542 horses, can launch the coupe to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds . The more expensive W-12 engine produces 626 horsepower and can motivate a coupe to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Both use an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that snaps off super-quick but smooth gearshifts. Customers can order the coupe or convertible with either engine. And all Continental GTs come with an all-wheel-drive system as standard.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

When a twin-turbo V-8 is the most fuel-efficient offering in a particular model, you know that efficiency is not top of mind for the carmaker—or its customers, for that matter. The EPA rates the Continental V-8 at 16 mpg city and 26 highway. In our real-world testing, we averaged 28 mpg in a V-8 model over 200 miles of highway driving.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

We expect a luxurious cabin from anything wearing the Bentley badge , and this two-door is no different. The interior is swathed in aromatic leather and fine wood veneers, and nearly everything about the Continental GT is customizable—for a price. Bentley's designers thought everything through, and each time behind the wheel reveals a surprising detail, such as expertly knurled control knobs and double-stitched diamond-patterned seat trim. Although the Continental GT technically has seatbelts for four occupants, we'd suggest you avoid using the rear seat for hauling adult-size people since its leg- and headroom are both limited. In our testing, we were able to fit five carry-on suitcases in the Continental's trunk—plenty of space for a weekend away with your favorite travel companion.

Infotainment and Connectivity

A 12.3-inch infotainment display dominates the dashboard and can be made to rotate into the dash, bringing up a panel with three small analog gauges showing you the exterior air temperature, the time, and a compass. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are standard, as is a digital gauge display that allows the driver to control most of the Continental GT's functions using controls on the steering wheel. The Continental GT offers two optional audio systems: a $6700 Bang & Olufsen arrangement and a truly spectacular $8800 Naim system.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

This vehicle has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Bentley offers as options driver-assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, a night-vision system, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection—items we'd expect to be standard, considering the steep starting price. Key safety features include:

  • Available automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
  • Available lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
  • Available adaptive cruise control

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

Rather than put mileage limits on the Continental GT's standard warranty policies, Bentley covers everything for three years regardless of how far the car is driven. The company also provides the first maintenance visit with their compliments at one year or 10,000 miles.

  • Recent awards include Robb Report Car of the Year 2022 and 2023 and Auto Motor und Sport Best Luxury Import 2022 and 2023
  • Bentley releases summary film showing evolution of the Continental GT

(Crewe, 18 April 2023) To celebrate 20 years of the Continental GT, Bentley Motors is hosting a four-month programme of unique models, drives and events that kicks-off today at the Shanghai Auto Show with the debut of a one-of-one Continental GT S. This unique car showcases several bespoke Mulliner features, including commemorative badging, inlays and design motifs marking 20 years of the car that has defined the modern era of Bentley Motors. The exterior of the special GT S for Shanghai is the strikingly sinister Magnetic dark grey metallic, complemented by black chrome and black 22” 10-spoke sports wheels but with a splash of colour provided by red brake calipers. The black-and-red theme is carried into the interior, with duo-tone finish in Beluga and Hotspur leather with Piano Black.  A bespoke interior features a unique Mulliner colour way, dual-finish fascias and waistrails and bespoke detailing to centre console and treadplates.  The upper fascia veneer is in Granite Stone, giving a unique tactile finish, while the lower veneer is in Grand Black and features a laser-etched overlay celebrating the 20 year anniversary of the Continental GT. A red pinstripe separates the two finishes, stretching across the fascia from door to door and passing across the upper vanes of the bullseye air vents. The treadplates proudly display two silhouettes, one of the 1st generation Continental GT and second of the 3rd generation, representing the 20 years of the modern GT. The same design can be found on the centre console, whilst the LED welcome lamp in the door has a unique design celebrating the anniversary of the iconic grand tourer. Celebrating 20 years of the quintessential grand tourer Launched in 2003 as the first all-new Bentley of the modern era, the first with all-wheel drive and the first to feature the innovative W12 engine, the Continental GT helped to propel Bentley to its current status as the most sought-after luxury car brand in the world.  At the time of its launch in 2003, the Continental GT offered a unique combination of stunning design, supercar performance and unrivalled craftsmanship. It was hailed as the fastest genuine four seat coupé in the world with a top speed in excess of 190 mph (300 km/h), and a 0-60mph time of 4.7 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds). With no comparable rivals at its price point, the Continental GT swiftly became a global sensation, defining a new market sector.  Now in its third generation, the Continental GT and its stablemate the Continental GTC continue to garner awards and accolades. In 2022 the Continental GT Speed won the respected Robb Report Car of the Year award; remarkably, the Continental GT V8 S succeeds it as Car of the Year winner for 2023. The Continental GT also achieved back-to-back wins at the Auto Motor und Sport awards in February 2023, winning the luxury class import category for the second year in a row in a poll of more than 101,000 readers.  Continental Drive Hubs Two drive hubs will celebrate 20 years of the Continental GT, one at Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe and the other in Geneva, Switzerland. First- and second-generation Continental GT models from the Bentley Heritage Collection will be available to drive alongside the latest Continental GT family, vividly bringing to life 20 years of constant design and engineering evolution.  Around the world in 20 reviews A Bentley ‘baton’, designed and created in house, will begin its global journey in May, travelling in a variety of Continental GT models across Europe, the Middle East, China, Asia Pacific and the US before returning to Crewe. At journey’s end back in Crewe, the baton, now containing 20 mementoes of the tour, will become a time capsule as a permanent reminder of a unique journey.  A Double Anniversary The Continental GT’s birthday also marks 20 years of Bentley’s mighty 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine, that has physically and metaphorically powered Bentley to success over two decades. With the end of production of the engine now scheduled for April 2024, only 12 months of W12 assembly remains before this iconic powertrain makes way for Bentley’s electric future. This milestone will be celebrated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (13-16 July), where Bentley will be celebrating the W12 with a moving showcase of W12-powered cars from the last 20 years, up to and including the new Bentley Batur by Mulliner. Homage to the Original at Monterey Car Week The first Continental GT to leave the production line at Crewe in 2003, VIN number 20001, was finished in Cypress Green with an interior in Saddle hide and Burr Walnut. From that day to this, it has remained in the company’s possession as a significant milestone in the Heritage Collection’s garage. At this year’s Monterey Car Week (August 11-18) Bentley will reveal a final one-of-one Continental GT – inspired by VIN 20001 - to close the birthday celebrations.  - ENDS –

Bentley's latest 640bhp, 208mph, 6.0l Twin Turbocharged W12 Continental GT achieves 0-60 in 3.4 seconds and was driven by Hammond in Sea to Unsalty Sea against the Aston Martin DBS Superlegerra and the latest BMW 8 Series .

Factory Tour: This Is How Bentley Builds The Continental GT

The Continental GT is built for "effortless acceleration and a truly thrilling drive." Let's see how Bentley achieved that.

Most of the western world loves Queen Elizabeth II . In the European Union, she is seen as a consistent, reliable and carrying leader. In the United Kingdom, she is adored and respected. And even in the States, Her Majesty has legions of loyal fans; thus, it is hardly surprising that everything she wears, does, or eats is celebrated. Naturally, the obsession doesn’t stop here and the brands she silently endorsed or the cars in which she travels become symbols of Englishness, elegance, and aristocracy.

With that being said, the Bentley State Limousines manufactured for the Queen are exactly as the Royal Household, imposing and of an understated elegance, so normal folks associate them with the British aristocracy. But the Queen is not the only famous fan of this ritzy car. The other British icon, Ian Fleming's character, James Bond, is also a Bentley aficionado. In fact, in literature, Bond’s first car was a Bentley, not an Aston Martin. This doesn’t mean that Bentley automobiles haven’t been featured in Bond movies.

On the contrary, the legendary spy, played by Sean Connery , drove Bentley automobiles in “ From Russia with Love ” (1963) and in “Never Say Never Again” (1983).

Having such distinguished characters among Bentley fans only increased the aura of exclusivity and sophistication of this legendary car company. As such, the mystique of the brand never vanished. And fans all over the world continued to dream about Bentley cars, although few of them could afford the staggering prices. It’s worth noting that the entry level Bentley, a Bentayga has a starting price of approximately $166,000 for the hybrid model.

Under these circumstances, Bentley fanatics will be happy to know that WELT released a documentary about the Bentley factory in Crewe, United Kingdom. The doc is a must-see for the car’s fans.

The Factory That Assembles Most Models

When hearing the name “Crewe,” some will associate it with manufacturing locomotives, others with Rolls-Royce production, and Bentley fans will instantly think of the Pyms Lane factory that assembles the legendary royal cars. In fact, in this town of around 75,000 people, skilled workers build the famous Bentley cars.

WELT’s documentary lets viewers step into this alluring world, so they can have a glimpse of the production facility and manufacturing process. And right from the get go, viewers are surprised to discover that robots, engineers, mechanics, and technicians have formed symbiotic relationships to create the perfect automobile.

More surprisingly, some processes use not only modern techniques but also craftsmanship, and every model has the hand-built component to it. This is mind-blowing if we consider that around 11,000 luxury vehicles a year are manufactured in the Crewe factory.

Creating The Continental GT

The narrator in the documentary passes the judgement that Bentley Continental is “England’s most exclusive supercar,” just to move on to a factory engineer who describes the car as “bigger, stronger and more masculine.” Indeed, the Continental GT is both “an exclusive supercar” and a powerful muscle car. But in order to create the best grand tourer in the world, craftspeople, high-tech machines, and highly skilled technicians need to work together. Customer assembly lines won’t do here and Bentley knows that. Moreover, only the finest leather and best materials are used, and the craftsmanship is simply exquisite.

During the doc, we get to see workers and mechanics welding and assembling certain parts by hand. For example, hundreds of leather workers work on the cabin upholstery, and they stitch the leather hides by hand. Naturally, only the finest leather is used. Wood trims are also polished and worked by hand, and at every stage, there is a strict inspection of quality. It will probably surprise viewers to discover that Bentley manufactures the entire interior in the same factory.

After engineers install the crankshaft, workers install the propeller, and various other teams of highly skilled craftworkers do their work, robots spray nothing less than 15.4 lbs (7 kilos) of paint onto the body in three individual coats. From there, the body heads back to the main assembly line. There’s a constant back-and-forth between robots and workers, and the process illustrates why this luxury vehicle is the best in class and the pride of the nation.

The Bentley Continental GT

The stunning twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine presented in the documentary generates 626 horsepower (466kW) and 664 pound-feet (900 nm) of torque. The engine is coupled to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends power through all-four wheels. This helps the high-performing Continental GT reach the top speed of 207 miles per hour and accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds.

But the engine power is not the only standout quality, and the Continental GT is also famous for its on-board technology, luxury interior, and stunning cockpit. Needless to say, the Continental GT is the best thing money can buy.

Bentley Continental GT

B entley spokespeople are quick to correct you if you ask exactly what the Porsche-developed MSB platform has allowed the company to do differently with this new Bentley Continental GT.

That’s because the MSB was a group-wide project with which key Bentley people were involved at the earliest stages, so it’s probably no fairer to say that the Continental is built on Porsche underpinnings than the Porsche Panamera is made on Bentley ones.

Semantics aside, the new platform has allowed the two-door GT to grow slightly in every dimension but most notably between the axles, where more than 100mm has been added to the wheelbase.

The car’s monocoque is built from a mix of aluminium and high-strength steel and is dressed in superformed aluminium bodywork, except for at the rear, where a composite plastic bootlid features.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find Bentley’s familiar 6.0-litre W12 engine, recently re-engineered with new cylinder heads to allow both direct and indirect fuel injection and cylinder-shutdown variable-displacement running. It provides 626bhp and 664lb ft – a 44bhp improvement on the car’s direct predecessor and quite a lot more torque than even the outgoing GT Speed produced.

But critically, the new platform and transmission allow that engine to be carried 135mm further aft than it used to be relative to the front axle line. By Bentley’s own figures, fore-aft weight distribution improves from 58/42 to 55/45. We measured it at 54/46.

Downstream of the engine there is wholesale change too. Out goes the old GT’s torque-converter gearbox and Torsen-centre-differential-based driveline and in comes an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with a dual-mass flywheel and a drive system that sends torque primarily to the rear axle but can divert just under half of it to the front axle when necessary.

Suspension is via the same three-chamber air suspension the Panamera uses, and Bentley’s chassis engineers claim it gives the car a ride and handling configurability that can be Mercedes S-Class-like at one moment and Porsche 911-like the next. Bentley’s 48V active anti-roll bars also feature.

The overall weight saving for the car? By Bentley’s figures, it’s 80kg. Not much in light of all that change, perhaps, because there’s quite a lot of new technology that has gone into the cabin; but it speaks volumes about what Bentley thinks its customers really want in their cars.

We weighed the car at 2295kg overall – still almost 400kg more than the Aston Martin DB11 V12 we weighed in 2016. So can any GT coupé with sporting ambitions afford that kind of penalty?

This is where the Bentley Continental GT’s identity as a luxury product, distinct even from many of its closest rivals, is forged. Bentley’s cockpit is a sensory treat of various layers and courses.

The mood it plays to is one of classic wood-panelled, chrome-trimmed, deep-piled, leather-bound opulence, so if you prefer avant-garde design to the look and feel of a vintage drawing room, it may not be for you.

Just don’t underestimate the car’s ability to wear away the reservations of even the staunchest progressive, with its sheer sumptuousness and appealing material authenticity.

A fully digital and configurable instrument panel replaces the last car’s analogue clocks ahead of the driver and it operates very much like Audi’s Virtual Cockpit set-up.

You can make it display analogue dials at full scale with centrally inset infotainment information, navigation mapping or live video feed from the infrared night-vision camera, or you can have that inset secondary display at larger scale in place of the car’s rev counter and water temperature gauge.

Press the ignition switch and the veneer in the middle of the dashboard rotates to reveal a 12.3in, retina-quality MMI display with impressive graphical sophistication and good usability. It is, the maker says, the largest touchscreen yet fitted to a Bentley.

From here, drivers can access sat-nav, DAB radio, vehicle settings and smartphone connectivity services. It’s an elegant system to behold, with crisp, clear graphics, and the switch between menus is made in a fluid, responsive manner.

If you prefer to travel without the distraction of a modern luxury car’s on-board technology, though, you can rotate the infotainment screen out of sight entirely and replace it with a panel of analogue instruments.

Our test car also had the range-topping Naim for Bentley premium audio system. At £6500, it’s a pricey option but, given its rich, sonorous sound quality, it’s certainly worth considering.

Making you comfortable ought to be high on any Bentley’s list of priorities and the Continental does that supremely well.

The 20-way bullhide leather front seats (heated and cooled, with massagers) are set slightly higher than the norm for a sporting coupé but are that way, you suspect, by design, giving you good all-round visibility – and they’re sufficiently cushioned and cosseting that you can spend hours in them without noticing the time pass.

Rear space remains tight for larger adults but fine for teenagers and kids in child seats – which is what you expect of a 2+2 – and boot space is big enough for a couple of large cases and a couple of smaller holdalls.

But it’s the richness of Bentley’s materials that really set the Continental apart: those polished metal interior trims and gorgeous wood veneers. The ‘diamond-knurled’ finish on the switchgear is a particular tactile highlight.

Cars in this class put the ‘super’ in super-GT in various and interesting ways, and the Continental GT has relied principally on refined, longstriding luxury to do that thus far.

But when you feel the new car’s turn of speed – and hear the new-found edge to the bark of its W12 engine – you’ll begin to understand that change is afoot in how this car defines itself.

No longer, you suspect, is Bentley willing to play second fiddle to Aston Martin, Mercedes-AMG or any other maker of big GT coupés in any comparison of bald acceleration.

And, for the time being, it needn’t.

On a slightly moist track, driving from all four corners and perfectly governed by its launch control system, the Continental GT needed just 3.6sec to hit 60mph from rest and less than 3sec to go from 30mph to 70mph through the gears.

It was quicker in both respects than the Aston Martin DB11 V12 we benchmarked in 2016, quicker than the Continental GT3-R tested the year before and within a tenth or two of the last Porsche 911 GT3 RS we figured, a car that’s 749kg lighter than the Bentley as tested.

The car’s acceleration never feels violent or savage, though, and remains more impressive for the kind of huge and assured mid-range torque that makes 2.3 tonnes of bulk seem inconsequential under power.

Even so, this accelerator pedal is one you squeeze rather than snap open, partly to avoid unleashing greater force from that engine than you really need, but also because there’s still a softness to the powertrain’s pedal response that rewards smooth input.

At high range, the engine revs more freely than it used to but still has a hint of laziness about its delivery above 4500rpm, the transmission upshifting automatically at 6200rpm even in manual mode. Be smooth, though, and the powerplant gives you supreme smoothness back, which is entirely the point.

The double-glazed Bentley Continental GT has first-rate cabin sealing (registering at a 50mph cruise 6dB less cabin noise than that of a DB11 V12) and a transmission so suave that you won’t miss the car’s old torque-converter ‘slushmatic’.

All up, this powertrain has a broader spread of abilities than any W12 Continental GT before it and typically long, fine cruising legs, but it’s still not as likely to hit exciting high notes as some of its rivals.

Ride and handling

The car devours millpond-flat dual-carriageway in Comfort mode, but with the gentle and cushioned ride to which Bentley regulars will be well used.

It can devour B-roads in the same mode and fashion, and without ever coming close to running out of body control, but it doesn’t feel much more meaningfully athletic or ‘sporting’ than its predecessor thusly configured.

The Bentley Continental GT also has a ‘Bentley’ driving mode. There is certainly a step up for the car, evidenced in terms of handling agility and body control. It’s the mode the car defaults to, and it’s the one most testers said they’d use for most journeys – with one or two preferring an à la carte Custom setting, mixing in either the softer suspension settings of Comfort or its weightier Sport steering settings, or both.

The greatest success of the adaptive suspension and active roll control systems is to so cleverly juggle and cradle the Continental GT’s body, and to put its various contact patches to work, that you’re hardly aware of the car’s mass, until you begin to approach the limit of grip at least.

There’s just enough heft in the controls and enough momentary pause about its initial steering response to make you aware that you’re driving a big car; a bigger– feeling one, certainly, than most GT coupés. But, on the road at least, the car’s grip level is high, its poise plain and its stability unflappable.

On the track, once you can approach the limit of adhesion, the car’s dynamic limitations become clearer; as does the fact that, technically upheaved or otherwise, the GT still doesn’t quite have the outright handling balance of a Aston Martin DB11 V12.

Despite weighing nearly 400kg more than the Aston Martin, the car is less than 2sec slower around the dry handling circuit but more than 5sec faster around the shorter wet track.

In slippery conditions, the car finds huge traction and grip and is balanced and composed. In the dry, though, with greater speed and lateral forces, that poise begins to fade and the car understeers – albeit predictably and manageably – at cornering speeds at which rivals probably wouldn’t. The car’s handling adjustability is clear, though.

In second- and third-gear corners, the drivetrain allows you to neutralise the car’s attitude with power or to develop a slide instigated on a trailing throttle. And you couldn’t do either with the last GT.

Back on the road, and in its firmer driving modes and admittedly only over sharper lumps and bumps, there’s just a hint of abruptness to the secondary ride. You could tune that out by reverting to Comfort mode, of course.

But it just goes to show that, where the ride and handling refinements of 2.3-tonne, 207mph Bentleys are concerned, even platform technology engineered with Porsche’s help doesn’t get you a free lunch.

MPG and running costs

With a base price of £159,100, the Bentley Continental GT is £1200 more expensive than the Aston Martin DB11, whereas a standard Mercedes-AMG S65 Coupé will set you back a staggering £186,900.

Of course, in the world of super-GTs, those entry-level prices – if you can really call them that – are to be taken with a pinch of salt. After all, the sky really is the limit as far as personalisation is concerned.

The car you see here has £49,905 worth of options, including a £6500 Naim audio system, a £4500 coat of Sequin Blue paint and the £34,800 First Edition specification, which adds a rotating display on the dashboard, mood lighting and the Mulliner Driving specification, which includes 22in wheels (although these weren’t fitted during testing), jewel-finish oil and fuel filler caps, walnut veneers and more besides.

As for depreciation, the Bentley is predicted to retain 56% of its value after 36 months, next to 52% for the Aston Martin and 37% for the Mercedes. It also outdoes the Rolls-Royce Wraith, which is forecast to retain 46%.

The sporting realignment of the Bentley Continental GT has got off to a fine start with this new 12-cylinder, launch-edition coupé.

It retains all of the tactile material lavishness, top-level luxury and first-order touring refinement we’ve come to expect from its maker, but it probably halves the gap that existed between its predecessor and the best-handling cars in the super-GT niche on driver appeal.

The car’s towering real-world performance and all-surface stability will be big draws for customers who use their cars on a daily basis, but they come partnered with much better body control and cornering poise than existing GT owners will be used to.

But for one or two details, it’s hard to imagine how Crewe could have better delivered on this car’s dynamic brief. Granted, a couple of rival super-GTs nail that compromise of handling agility and involvement and touring comfort ever so slightly better.

Given the weight of opulent luxury it has to bear, though, the Continental GT has just come a remarkably long way as a driver’s car. We’ll be watching how much further it may yet come with interest.

  • A unique version of the Bentley Continental GTC created by Mulliner and Boodles.
  • Interior trimmings include diamonds, white gold, and a 200-million-year-old Autumn Stone veneer.
  • Power comes from the now-defunct twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine.

Bentley Mulliner collaborated with jewelry company Boodles for a one-off commission based on the Continental GTC. The luxurious grand tourer has a subtle color combination but the interior is full of intricate details including a shiny diamond-set pendant on the center console which is crafted in 18-carat white gold.

The exterior of the Bentley x Boodles Mulliner Edition Continental GTC is painted in Porpoise Grey, contrasting with the Linen interior. The chromework is joined by Powder Pink highlights, a signature color for Boodles, on the splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler. Mulliner also chose a set of 22-inch wheels finished in Tungsten with polished accents.

Inside, the highlight is the “Be Boodles Bentley ” pendant made of diamonds and white gold, which has been inlayed to the center console. The dual-finish inserts on the dashboard and door cards combine Piano Linen with a 200-million-year-old Autumn Stone veneer and Powder Pink piping. The same color has been used for the hand cross-stitching embroidery which took 278,566 stitches and six hours to complete.

Touches of 24-carat gold on the air vents are a reference to Boodle’s goldsmith heritage, while a pair of loose cushions in Linen hide will make occupants even more comfortable. The logo of the jewelry company together with its 1798 founding year can be found on the front fenders, dashboard, side sills, and puddle lights of the Continental GTC.

Bentley Mulliner

There are no mechanical changes over the standard Continental GTC Mulliner, with the oval tailpipes revealing the presence of the 12-cylinder powertrain under the hood. The twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 produces 641 hp (478 kW / 650 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque in this configuration, sending power to all four wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The one-off commission will be shown on April 11 at Jack Barclays Bentley dealership in London. The special model will be offered for sale following its first public outing but as expected, no pricing details were announced. It is safe to assume that the bespoke touches and the precious materials will make the Boodles-branded special significantly more expensive than the standard Continental GTC.

Bentley will soon unveil the facelifted Continental lineup that is expected to bring mild visual tweaks alongside a new plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

Cars of Clarkson’s Farm: A Look at Jeremy Clarkson’s Epic Car Collection of Grand Tour Fame

Jeremy Clarkson , the iconic British presenter and car enthusiast, has long been associated with some of the most thrilling and memorable motoring moments on television. From his days on Top Gear to his current shows The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm, Clarkson has built a reputation for his love of fast cars, witty commentary, and larger-than-life personality. But did you know that he also owns a collection of cars from these shows that he keeps at his farm in Oxfordshire? In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the cars that Clarkson has chosen to keep from The Grand Tour, exploring their history, restoration, and personal significance to one of the most recognisable faces in the world of motoring.

When The Grand Tour flew to Madagascar to find lost pirate treasure, Jeremy Clarkson modified a Bentley Continental GT with a host of additions to make it the ultimate off-roader. It was lifted with specialised suspension, given larger off-road tyres, a mass of protection, and a snorkel to give it the edge over fellow presenters Richard Hammond and James May .

It turned out to be the best choice of the three. Not only was it able to cross almost anything the Madagascar Special threw at it, but it did it with the utmost comfort.

Jeremy took it home and used it on his Diddly Squat Farm . It was even seen in a couple of episodes. But unfortunately, it had to be taken back to Bentley in Crewe, so doesn’t technically belong to Clarkson anymore, although he wishes it did.

The Bentley Continental GT is a high-performance grand tourer produced by the British luxury car manufacturer, Bentley Motors. It was first introduced in 2003 and has since undergone several updates and redesigns. The Continental GT is powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine that can produce up to 626 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

In addition to the W12 engine, the Bentley Continental GT is also available with a V8 engine option. The V8 version of the Continental GT was first introduced in 2012 and features a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces up to 542 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque.

The interior is handcrafted with premium materials and customizable options, including wood veneers, leather, and metal finishes. The Continental GT is a symbol of luxury, prestige, and sophistication, beloved by car enthusiasts and celebrities alike.

Jeremy Clarkson used to own an Alfa Romeo GTV6, with him calling it “the best-sounding car ever” in an interview. Then, during an episode of The Grand Tour where the trio drove three cars across Scotland’s North Coast 500, Clarkson chose the trusty Alfa.

Along the way it had a few issues, so he had to visit the garage to get it fixed. But he fell in love with the car and soon it found its way back to Clarkson’s farm where it can still be found. It turned out he really couldn’t resist that sweet-sounding V6.

The Alfa Romeo GTV6 is a classic sports car that was produced by the Italian automaker Alfa Romeo from 1981 to 1987. It was powered by a 2.5-liter V6 engine that produced up to 160 horsepower and was paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The GTV6 was known for its exceptional handling and driving dynamics, with near-perfect weight distribution and responsive steering. It was also a beautiful car, with sleek lines and a distinctive wedge shape that made it stand out from other sports cars of the era.

The GTV6 was a popular choice for enthusiasts and amateur racers, and it was successful in motorsports, winning several championships and races in Europe and North America. It was also featured in films and TV shows, further cementing its status as a cultural icon. Today, the GTV6 is a sought-after classic car, with a dedicated fan base and a reputation as one of the best sports cars of its era.

The Excellent was the brainchild of Jeremy Clarkson during an episode of The Grand Tour where he attempts to build a sporty SUV. The prototype begins with him placing an MGB on top of a Land Rover Discovery chassis, but unfortunately, it wasn’t very good. Not only were there no creature comforts in the cabin, but the MGB body kept falling off the chassis.

Eventually, he welded a Mercedes SL to the Discovery chassis and the Excellent was born. He adored the car, but the plan was to put it up for auction at Coy’s Auctions .

With a reserve set at £100,000, it reached £4,000 even with Clarkson pushing the price up himself. So while the public didn’t line up to take it home, Clarkson fell in love with it, and it can still be found parked up on Clarkson’s property.

While Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May were quick to joke about the Jeep Wrangler being a gay icon, it turns out the ex-Top Gear presenter definitely had a soft spot for the off-roader.

Thanks to a user on Reddit who goes by the name of u/apple_the_melon who went to visit Clarkson’s farm, we know that it’s being kept on his land next to a shrine of The Grand Tour episode.

The Jeep was involved in controversy alongside Clarkson when he was accused of being homophobic. He wrote the following in a column:

“But this week, [Will Young] went berserk on Twitter, saying that I’d been homophobic in the most recent episode of  The Grand Tour ,” Clarkson wrote. “Many gay people who’d seen the show said they couldn’t see a problem. None of my leftie friends could either. One even said I should tell him to stop being so gay. “I won’t do that though. And nor will I suggest, once again, that mobile phones should be fitted with breathalysers to stop people drinking and tweeting.”

He ended the column with the following:

“I’m sorry and I’ll prove it”, Clarkson wrote: “No. Instead, I will apologise to Will for causing him some upset and reassure him that I know I’m not homophobic as I very much enjoy watching lesbians on the internet.”

The Jeep Wrangler is an iconic off-road vehicle that has been in production since 1986. It is known for its ruggedness, durability, and ability to conquer any terrain. The Wrangler is available in both two-door and four-door models, with a range of engine options including a 3.6-litre V6 and a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The Wrangler features a four-wheel-drive system, high ground clearance, and off-road suspension that make it a capable off-road vehicle.

In addition to its off-road capabilities, the Jeep Wrangler also offers a comfortable and practical interior with modern amenities and advanced technology. The latest models feature touchscreen displays, Bluetooth connectivity, and available leather seats. The Wrangler is a popular choice for outdoor enthusiasts, adventurers, and anyone looking for a versatile and capable vehicle. Its unique style and off-road performance have made it a cultural icon and a symbol of adventure and freedom.

To work on his farm, Jeremy bought the largest, most powerful tractor he could find. The Lamborghini R8 turned out to be far too large for the farm, and because of its European background, wouldn’t easily attach to any of his farm equipment.

He still drives the R8 and has just about got his head round the endless buttons and tech that this thing provides.

“The Lambo was £40,000, a third of what a normal new tractor would cost,” Jeremy told fans.

bentley continental gt the grand tour

The Massey Ferguson was actually bought for Jeremy’s partner Lisa Hogan .

The Massey Ferguson tractor is a brand that has been around for over a century and is still popular among farmers today. Known for its reliability, durability, and performance, it has become a trusted partner for farmers all over the world. Massey Ferguson tractors are versatile machines that can be used for a variety of tasks such as ploughing fields, harvesting crops, and hauling equipment.

They come in a range of sizes, from compact models for small farms to larger ones for commercial agriculture. With its reputation for quality and innovation, the Massey Ferguson tractor has established itself as a top choice for those who work the land.

bentley continental gt the grand tour

The tractor in question is a Cockshutt 70, which was manufactured in Iowa, USA between 1935 and 1948 and has a horsepower of around 20-30. However, it’s unlikely that Jeremy is interested in this tractor purely for its specifications. It’s more likely that he’s attracted to the name, Cockshutt.

The Cockshutt 70 is a tractor that was manufactured by the Cockshutt Company. It was a popular choice for farmers due to its durability, reliability, and versatility. The Cockshutt 70 was powered by a 6-cylinder gasoline engine that produced around 30 horsepower, making it capable of handling a wide range of – small – farming tasks.

Its design was also ahead of its time, with features such as a three-point hitch and live hydraulics, which made it easier for farmers to attach and operate various implements. Today, the Cockshutt 70 is a beloved vintage tractor among collectors and enthusiasts.

On Display at Clarkson’s Farm

These cars can be found at Clarkson’s Farm where they are most on display for fans. The MFB is no longer at the farm, however, with it being sent back to Bentley. As well as this, the Alfa Romeo is also hidden, being Jeremy’s pride and joy.

The Excellent is often out and about, usually parked up near the farm shop, and the Jeep has its very own shrine for fans of The Grand Tour to enjoy.
