Guided campus tours

Our guided campus tours are a chance for you to hear a little more about what Loughborough University London has to offer. You will be able to see our teaching, research and conferencing facilities and ask questions about applying and studying at Loughborough University London.

The tour will last approximately 30 minutes and will include a tour of the library, lecture rooms, open study areas and cafe. Your tour guide will also be able to provide information about the different accommodation options  and leisure facilities close to campus.

When arriving on campus, you'll meet one of our student ambassadors at reception, who will guide you around our facilities and answer any questions you have. At the end of the tour, you'll have the option to take the free Here East Shuttle Bus service to Stratford Station. This will give you a great idea of the location of our campus and the proximity to Stratford and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park . This option adds an additional 30 minutes to the tour length.

Campus Tour FAQs

What time should i arrive.

You should aim to arrive at our reception 10 minutes before your tour's start time. You can find details and directions on getting to campus here .

Who can I bring with me?

You can bring a maximum of two guests  to accompany you on your visit.

Will I get to meet any academics?

The tour focuses on showcasing our campus, which hosts a range of lecture theatres, seminar rooms, labs and study spaces for students. Unfortunately, we are unable to coordinate time with academics during the tour. Opportunities for this are available at some of our Open Day events.

Who should I contact if I am going to be late?

If you are running late or can no longer make the tour, please email [email protected] before your tour’s start time. We are unable to guarantee latecomers a campus tour but the sooner you let us know, the sooner we can try to make alternative arrangements.

Will anyone else be on the tour?

You may be joined by other prospective students and enquirers and their guests on your tour. 

Is the visit accessible for wheelchair users?

The tour covers our campus and local facilities, all of which have accessible access. If you wish to discuss any additional requirements, you can contact [email protected]

Open days at Loughborough University

Loughborough University is known for its community spirit and academic excellence in teaching and research. The university was recently awarded triple gold in the Teaching Excellent Framework (TEF) and has been awarded seven Queen's Anniversary Prizes along the way.

Subjects it is particularly well-known for include sports science, art and design, marketing, communication and media studies and biomedical sciences, among others. It hosts one of the UK's largest annual careers fairs with more than 260 exhibitors, along with hundreds of other employer events, boosting employability prospects.

Facilities  

Loughborough offers students a wide variety of academic and leisure facilities including sports resources like an indoor athletics centre, outdoor stadium, sports hall, all weather pitches, and state of the art gym.

The four storey Pilkington library opens 24/7 during revision and exam periods and there's a language centre dedicated to helping students develop the skills to communicate in a chosen language and become familiar with the cultural context that underpins it.

Why go to an open day?  

You can book an open day via the links below or register your interest and the university will let you know when bookings open nearer the time. Attending an open day will help you decide whether it's the right place for you to study. You'll usually be able to attend talks, take a tour, see typical campus accommodation and talk to current students and lecturers about what life is really like so have some questions handy.

Where is it located? 

Loughborough's main location is a single site campus in the heart of the Midlands near the cities of Nottingham and Leicester. It is about a 20-minute bus ride from Loughborough train station. You can also get there by car, but onsite parking is limited. There is a free shuttle bus service once on campus to get you from a to b quickly.

Loughborough is a historic market town with a friendly feel, beautiful surroundings, and an affordable student experience.

Loughborough University also has a campus in London situated in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in a dynamic and vibrant new community on the eastern side of London. It is easy to get to by train, tube or bus.

Loughborough is impressive overall in our general rankings, consistently taking a top 10 spot for the past five years. It is particularly strong on facilities spend, graduate prospects and continuation of study, research intensity and student satisfaction.

LOUGHBOROUGH College students were given a glimpse into the future - without even leaving the college premises.

A cutting-edge revamped double decker gave more than 250 Loughborough College students the chance to transport themselves forward to experience campus life after they begin a degree.

Andrew Spencer, careers co-ordinator at Loughborough College, said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for our students studying everything from engineering, creative media and sport to health, social and childcare to really fire up their imaginations.”

He added: “It really was an immersive experience and created a real buzz among the students, letting them look through a door into their potential future and boosting their enthusiasm for degree study at Loughborough College or elsewhere.”
