Citation Reward Travel Trailers From General Coach Canada

After more than 50 years as Canada’s #1 RV enthusiast magazine, we have found that once in a generation, a product is created that embodies elements of design and functionality that sets it apart from virtually everything else in the category.

I have had the pleasure of road testing two such products – the ABI Award travel trailers, manufactured by ABI Leisure Products in Dunnville, Ontario from 1985 – 1996, with a design inspired by the ABI Caravans of England. The company was reorganized as Award Recreational Vehicles from 1998 – 2005, and parts were available from Diels Distribution in Dunnville, Ontario, until just a few years ago. The Award trailers were unique, and very popular among RV enthusiasts throughout North America, with high quality construction, excellent aerodynamics, and superb towing characteristics. More than 5,000 Award travel trailers were sold throughout North America and vintage Award trailers are still seen on the roads and in campgrounds, a testament to the durability of construction and the longevity of the design.

The second landmark travel trailer, the new Citation Reward by General Coach Canada , is, in several ways, a tribute to the Award design.

I had the pleasure of visiting with Roger Faulkner, President of General Coach Canada, to spend a day towing the new Citation Reward 25-foot travel trailer.

We coordinated our road test with Andy Thomson, of Can-Am RV Centre in London, Ontario, our “Hitch Hints” expert, and the first RV dealer to carry the new Reward trailers.

It is important to note that while the resemblance between the original ABI Award travel trailers and the new Citation Reward trailers seems quite apparent, the Citation Reward models are built with the latest in top quality materials and components, by a company that has earned the highest level of customer confidence for decades of excellence in the manufacturing of RVs, park models, mobile homes, and commercial as well as theatrical trailers.

Roger Faulkner is one of the leading personalities in the Canadian RV industry, with a long history in the business and a track record of outstanding service to the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Manufacturers Association (CRVA) and the RV community at large. Roger has served on every major RV industry board, and he was inducted into the RV Hall of Fame in 2018 acknowledging his lifetime achievements in the RV builder’s category. Roger has served on the Canadian Standards Association Z241 technical committee since 1990 – the governing body that sets the construction codes and safety standards for every RV sold in Canada.

Roger was the moving force behind the Leisure Lifestyle Marketing Group , which evolved into Go RVing Canada – the industry association that brings all levels of the Canadian RV and camping sectors together to enhance the outdoor experience for everyone who enjoys the RV camping lifestyle, and he has served on the executive committee of the Canadian Camping and RV Council since its inception.

Inside the new General Coach Citation Reward

The 21 st century Citation Reward travel trailers are manufactured in Hensall, Ontario, with many of the components and materials sourced from suppliers in the south-central Ontario region.

The euro inspired Citation Reward travel trailers are produced in three sizes: 25-foot, 28-foot, and 31-foot models.

This exciting new trailer line is distinctly different from the mass-produced travel trailers that you might be familiar with – and General Coach Canada is certainly no stranger to the travel trailer industry – the company began building trailers in 1950, and produced Citation models until 2008, when the recession saw the company shift to put their emphasis on the very popular General Coach park model units.

The company returned to the travel trailer sector when they built a new factory in 2018 for their theatrical and film industry trailers, and this provided the manufacturing facilities to build the Reward travel trailers.

The Citation Reward travel trailers fit a niche market within the travel trailer sector – designed to be more aerodynamic and easier to tow than the majority of travel trailers – and built to provide many years of RV touring enjoyment, the Canadian made quality of this line is distinctively different from the typical North American travel trailer.

At RV Lifestyle Magazine , we have a sister publication, Power Boating Canada Magazine , that has a custom-built ABI Award trailer that we use as a boating event support vehicle. I was very curious to see the differences between the ABI Award design and construction, and the new Citation Reward.

While the original Award design concept had many excellent characteristics, it was not without its problems. The Citation Reward design addresses and resolves all of these elements to create a more refined, higher quality product.

Among the design changes, the Reward trailers utilize different construction – among the key aspects that have been completely redesigned, are the walls – the Reward features a one-piece seamless fibreglass wall that is a vacuum-bonded two-inch construction produced by a supplier in Quebec, and the roof – the Award trailer used many pieces in the roof structure to achieve the vaulted configuration – the Reward achieves the aerodynamic shape by utilizing an aluminum cage structure. There are no materials to decay or require maintenance.

The exterior of the Reward trailers features a two-tone exterior high gloss finish, and this high gloss finish is also used for the interior wall surfaces – a first in the RV industry. The walls are built with Azdel backing, which is a man-made product that is impervious to insect damage, it won’t wick, and the wall will never delaminate, unlike the luan and plywood materials commonly found in RV wall construction. The Challenger® brand entrance door has friction hinges and a very sturdy screen door. The entrance lock is activated by a digital keypad – a very convenient feature.

Another major improvement that we found in the Citation Reward design is the use of a dark tinted contoured front window that is sourced from the automotive industry and installed the same way your car windshield is fitted to the vehicle. This eliminates the leakage problems that were characteristic of the Award design. The custom molded fibreglass front and rear caps of the Reward trailers overlap the roof structure, making it highly unlikely that the trailer will experience roof leaks.

We could go on and on about the fit and finish, the materials used inside and outside the Citation Reward travel trailers, and the overall excellence of the design, but let’s summarize – the Citation Reward travel trailers are high-end units that exceed the quality and roadability of the typical travel trailer models available in the North American market… you could think of the line as an affordable alternative that approaches the level of an Airstream – although Roger is very careful to emphasize that the Airstream line is “an island unto itself”, but the Citation Reward is in a new category, between the Airstream and the conventional travel trailer designs.

Construction

The Citation Reward travel trailers are built on a 7” Z-channel huck bolt chassis and frame and feature an enclosed underbelly with corrugated plastic protective layer, with commercial grade epoxy painted undercarriage. Inside, the floor is vacuum bonded and insulated, with a plywood subfloor and high-quality vinyl floor covering.

Interior Components

As one of Canada’s foremost manufacturers of park model trailers, General Coach builds a wide range of interior cabinetry and appointments. The same high-quality cabinets that are used in the park models are used in the Citation Reward travel trailers – and these are far more “residential” in style and design than what you would normally expect to see in a travel trailer, bringing durability, convenience, and ease of access that will delight any serious RV traveller. Each of the cabinets features Grass® Soft Close hinges, and the drawers have Grass® Soft Close glides. Cabinet doors and drawers have Whisper Latch™ cam locks which are compact and functional.

In the Galley

The galley includes an induction two-burner cooktop, and for quick meals, the convection microwave saves time and effort. You will enjoy the Furrion® 8 cubic-foot Arctic refrigerator/freezer.

Lots of headroom, easy access to overhead cabinets…

With its unique roofline, you might expect the Reward trailer interior to be short on headroom – but that is not the case – indeed, the trailer is built with a low-profile design – the floor is actually closer to the ground than most travel trailers, producing a very stable ride. The vaulted ceiling has an arched effect that measures 6’4” at the apex, and this headroom continues throughout the length of the interior. The headroom is actually 2 inches more than the Award trailer. For tall campers, the Reward has an Olympia® white sponge headliner and front-end wall.

On the Road

The Citation Reward trailer is very aerodynamic and has a low centre of gravity for excellent handling. There are many features that set this trailer apart from almost every other unit on the road – for example, we really like the Furrion® rear vision camera that is built into the rear cap – this would be an extra-cost option on most trailer brands.

We towed the Reward 25’ travel trailer with a Tesla Model S – and the touring experience was simply outstanding. With a very low centre of gravity, the sleek electric sports sedan brings plenty of power, low-end torque, and a supremely confident towing performance. It is, without question, one of the most capable tow vehicles we have tested in more than 50 years on the RV roads to adventure.

Andy hitched the Tesla Model S to the Reward trailer with a customized Eaz-Lift class III equalizing hitch, with 750 lb. bars and a pair of Husky dual brake pad friction sway control arms. In the Campground

When you arrive at the campsite, it is a very simple process to lower the four manual stabilizer jacks. The powered hitch jack is a real convenience, and there is a courtesy light to help you hook up or unhitch the trailer after dark. Many RV’ers use a cordless drill and a suitable socket to power their manual stabilizers – we have found this to be an excellent alternative to using person-power to extend or retract the stabilizers.

Your campsite comfort is assured because on the roof, there is a 200W – 12V solar package with interior monitor, and a Dometic® Penguin 15,000 BTU air conditioner. The ZipDee® patio awning features Sunbrella® fabric for long life. Once you have hooked up to the water, sewer, and electrical grid, you can extend the Zip Dee awning – it is a manual design, but it only takes a few minutes, and it is really very easy – we shot a video of Andy demonstrating this process – watch it on the RV Lifestyle Magazine YouTube channel – here is the link: https://youtu.be/YO_aCZYF7dY

While many trailers are built with large and bulky entrance steps, the Reward is designed to ride lower, so single pull-out entrance steps are perfect.

The Reward trailers have twin 30-LB LP tanks that are kept in a contoured compartment in the front cap. The 12-volt electrical system includes two AMG batteries with a multi-stage converter.

The Reward is designed to be enjoyed throughout Spring, Summer, and Autumn, with full water, sewer, and electric systems. For cold weather camping, and for winter storage, you would, of course, keep the water system empty – there is a winterization bypass valve in the water system access compartment.

Interior Comfort and Convenience

Designed and built with pride in Canada, the Reward is, of course, intended for use in the Canadian climate. The Reward trailers feature the Truma® Combi Comfort water heater/furnace – one of the most advanced appliances in the RV industry.

The 25-foot General Coach Citation Reward trailer is very comfortable for a couple or a small family. With a mid-size galley and all the appliances you could ever want. The 28-foot model features a slightly different floor plan, with a wrap around sofa in the front, with a side table.

One of the many benefits of dealing with a factory that is flexible enough to customize some aspects of the trailer became evident recently, when a customer asked if there was an option to add another adult-size sleeping area – the design team retrofitted the front bench seating to include a pull-out drawer with wheels and a bed board, and voila – there was another guest sleeping area. Roger says that this feature will probably become standard equipment in some models.

While the Reward facilities are top quality in materials, design, and workmanship, as Roger describes the interior, “a bathroom is a bathroom, and a bedroom is a bedroom”. You have excellent bathroom shower, vanity, and toilet appointments, and the bedroom can be configured with King Koil pocket coil mattress, twin, or queen bed sizes, with decorative throw pillows, quilted bedspread with duvet. Underbed storage is, of course, generous and easily accessed.

The Dometic® 510 porcelain toilet is truly a throne for all seasons, and the step-in tub with shower surround is ideal for a trailer of this size. There is a tinted skylight over the shower, which helps illuminate the bathroom, and the Maxxair 4500K vent fan helps keep the bathroom steam and fragrances under control.

Warranty Coverage

You may wonder what kind of customer support and warranty coverage you will have when you purchase a trailer that is, at the outset, a very rare model. The official limited structural warranty for a new Reward travel trailer is five years, non transferable…. We asked how a new customer might react to this, when considering the purchase of a new Reward trailer – Roger’s response is classic General Coach Canada – “we’ve been in business since the 1950s, and I have been in the industry since 1968, so it’s my reputation on the line – if something we’ve done goes wrong in the manufacturing of this unit it will be fixed – I really don’t care how long it’s been on the road – if it was our fault, we will fix it, other than normal wear and tear – that’s another story but the Citation Reward will have one of the best warranties in the industry – that’s just who we are as a company and the people who are interested in finding out more about this can visit the General Coach Canada website at www.generalcoachtrailers.com”

The Bottom Line…

The General Coach Canada Citation Reward will be the answer to the dreams of thousands of avid RV travellers, who have been pining for a high-quality aerodynamic travel trailer since the Award trailers ceased production.

This is a superb example of RV design and engineering, beautifully finished and built to last for generations of RV adventures.

2025 Golden Globes Host Revealed for the 82nd Annual Award Show

The host for the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards has been revealed.

The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 5, 2025, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET (5 p.m. to 8 p.m. PT) on CBS. They will also be available to stream on Paramount+ in the United States.

Who is hosting the 2025 Golden Globe Awards?

Per Variety , comedian Nikki Glaser has been tapped to host the 2025 awards show.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Golden Globes ,” Glaser said. “It’s one of my favorite nights of television and now I get a front row seat (actually, I think I have to host from the stage). The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows, but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so). It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable, and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes).

“Some of my favorite jokes of all time have come from past Golden Globes opening monologues when Tina, Amy, or Ricky have said exactly what we all didn’t know we desperately needed to hear. I just hope to continue in that time honored tradition (that might also get me canceled). This is truly a dream job. Plus, I no longer have to feel guilty for every TV show and movie I’ve binged over the past year. It was all worth it. (‘Below Deck: Sailing Yacht’ Season Four will be nominated, right?).”

Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne added, “Nikki Glaser is a comedic powerhouse whose daring and unfiltered humor is the perfect match for the Golden Globes. She is sure to bring a unique energy and spontaneity to the show that will keep the audience entertained all night.”

Glaser — who previously released stand-up specials such as 2022’s Good Clean Filth and 2024’s Someday You’ll Die — follows Jo Koy, who hosted the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. 

Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner will executive produce the awards show, while Dick Clark Productions will plan, host, and produce the event.

The big games, reveals, and trailers from Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024

New Borderlands! New Dying Light! New Mafia! Old Goat Simulator?

Gamescom ’s Opening Night Live showcase is once again here to highlight games coming your way in the near future (and beyond). Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the creator of The Game Awards, the stream primarily focused on new or first looks at previously announced games like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 , Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 , Monster Hunter Wilds , and Dune: Awakening .

But there were more than a few surprises, including new game announcements and reveals, at Gamescom ONL. Here’s a breakdown of the biggest trailers and announcements that were shown.

Borderlands 4

Gearbox Software is officially back in the Borderlands business. At Gamescom ONL, 2K games and Gearbox announced Borderlands 4 in the form of a cinematic teaser. The new Borderlands game is out sometime in 2025 and, according to an official description, “players will assume the role of a legendary Vault Hunter as they blast their way through hordes of enemies in search of new treasures to loot on an all-new planet.”

Mafia: The Old Country

Developer Hangar 13 is returning to the Mafia franchise in 2025. The studio, and publisher 2K Games, revealed Mafia: The Old Country , a new entry that will send the series back to Italy. Mafia: The Old Country promises to “uncover the origins of organized crime” with a “gritty mob story set in the brutal underworld of 1900s Sicily.” Hangar 13 promises the “authentic realism and rich storytelling” the Mafia series is known for. Details are scant, but expect more in December, the game’s makers say — probably at The Game Awards, if we’re guessing.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Bethesda not only gave us a new look at Indiana Jones and the Great Circle , we also (finally) got a release date: Dec. 9 on Windows PC and Xbox Series X. But PlayStation fans can also get their hands on Indy, with a PS5 version announced for spring 2025. For more on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle , read Polygon’s preview of the game .

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Call of Duty fans got a lengthy look at new gameplay from Black Ops 6 , which ran the gamut from political blackmail to stealthy close-quarters gunplay to a gunfire-and-explosion-filled street chase through Washington, D.C. on the back of a motorcycle. More to come at Call of Duty Next.

Dying Light: The Beast

Techland revealed a new game in its zombie adventure franchise at Gamescom with Dying Light: The Beast , which the developer describes as a “thrilling standalone zombie adventure set in a tightly-crafted rural region.” Players take on the role of Kyle Crane, who breaks free after years of brutal experiments and seeks revenge. Dying Light: The Beast is coming to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms

Directive 8020

A new entry in the The Dark Pictures anthology, Supermassive Games’ Directive 8020 stars Lashana Lynch ( Captain Marvel , The Woman King ) in an all-new sci-fi survival horror adventure. Lynch plays the ground-breaking astronaut, Young, in what Supermassive describes as “an immersive cinematic horror experience that blends intense survival gameplay with a branching narrative storyline.” Directive 8020 is out in 2025.

Goat Simulator Remastered

For the 10th anniversary of Goat Simulator , Coffee Stain Publishing is bringing back the original in remastered form with upgraded graphics and lighting, as well as “many intentional features that definitely aren’t bugs, and fan-favourite DLC, all in one package.” Goat Simulator Remastered drops in 2024.

King of Meat

Geoff Keighley himself starred in the reveal trailer for King of Meat , a four-player hacking, slashing, co-op combat game from Amazon Games and studio Glowmade in which players fight through “ridiculous” user-created dungeons. King of Meat is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark

Developer FuzzyBot announced Lynked: Banner of the Spark at Opening Night Live. It’s an “arcade-inspired co-op adventure that blends hack and slash combat with roguelike and town-building elements.”

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage

Life is Strange developer Don’t Nod revealed new gameplay and a release date for its next game, the ’90s-set narrative adventure Lost Records: Bloom & Rage . The episodic game will launch in two parts on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X on Feb. 18 and March 18, 2025.

ARC Raiders

Embark Studios, creator of The Finals , brought its long-delayed shooter ARC Raiders to Gamescom for a re-reveal. The PvPvE action survival shooter is now coming in 2025 to PS5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. ARC Raiders ’ first public tech test is now scheduled for Oct. 24-27.

Infinity Nikki

Infinity Nikki , the cozy, open-world adventure game fueled by the power of dressing up, got a new look at Gamescom — and news of an upcoming closed beta on mobile platforms.

Dune: Awakening

Funcom showed actual gameplay from its open-world survival MMO set in the Dune universe, detailing the journey from “survivor to spice hunter.” Players will expand their influence on Arrakis through combat, spice, building, and trade when Dune: Awakening arrives in early 2025 on PC. PS5 and Xbox versions are due later.

Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios revealed its next game, a terrifying new adventure called Reanimal . Described as a co-op horror adventure game, players take on the roles of brother and sister who “go through hell to rescue their missing friends.” Reanimal is playable solo or in local and online co-op, and it’s coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom showed off more from its impressively open-world new Monster Hunter game at Gamescom ONL, covering the new area the Scarlet Forest, new monster Lala Barina, and Windward Plains apex predator Rey Dau. Monster Hunter Wilds also has some tasty looking meat — increasingly a Capcom specialty.

Sid Meier’s Civilization 7

Firaxis Games showed off first gameplay from Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 , but the depth of the next Civ will warrant much more than that. Expect gameplay deep dives and interviews from Gamescom throughout the week. Firaxis also announced a release date of Feb. 11, 2025.

Marvel Rivals

Marvel and NetEase Games’ kinda-Overwatch-y team-based game, Marvel Rivals , has two new heroes: Captain America and The Winter Soldier (aka Bucky Barnes). And it has a release date: Marvel Rivals is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X on Dec. 6.

Prime Video’s Secret Level

Secret Level is a new animated anthology series from the creatives behind Love, Death + Robots . It will feature original stories set in the worlds of Armored Core , Dungeons & Dragons , Mega Man , Pac-Man , Sifu , Spelunky , The Outer Worlds , Unreal Tournament , Warhammer 40,000 and more.

Bethesda Game Studios showed up with some Starfield content, including a look (and imminent release) of the REV-8 land vehicle and a tease of the Shattered Space DLC coming on Sept. 30. The free REV-8 update gives players the freedom to explore new frontiers and reach new heights, Bethesda said.

Monument Valley 3

A new Monument Valley game is coming. Monument Valley 3 ’s gorgeous, mind-bending puzzles will arrive exclusively on Netflix Games on Dec. 10, along with both Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 .

Batman: Arkham Shadow

The next Batman Arkham game is for VR. Set between the events of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Asylum , players will step Batman’s cape and cowl as he takes on the Rat King and reunites with familiar faces Harleen Quinzel, Jim Gordon, Harvey Dent, and Dr. Crane — before some of them become villains — in Batman: Arkham Shadow .

Masters of Albion

Fable , Populous , and Black & White creator Peter Molyneux is back and making a new game for consoles and PC. Masters of Albion will tap into some of Molyneux’s most beloved games, giving players godlike control and letting them possess characters for direct, third-person action.

Squid Game: Unleashed

The deadly survival games of Netflix’s breakout hit Squid Game are coming to mobile with a new, even deadlier series of challenges. Squid Game: Unleashed is (of course) coming to Netflix, but does not have a release date.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred

Players won’t go it alone when Diablo 4 ’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred , goes live on Oct. 8. They’ll be joined by members of the Pale Hand, a group of mercenaries that got an introduction from Blizzard Entertainment at Gamescom ONL.

The Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date was just part of MachineGames’ big Indy reveal at Gamescom 2024 . We also got an extended look at gameplay and finally had confirmation of what platforms the new Indiana Jones game is landing on when it launches later in 2024.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date and platforms

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle releases on December 9, 2024, for Xbox and PC via Windows and Steam . The Xbox release includes Series X|S, Xbox One, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. MachineGames is also bringing Indiana Jones to PS5, but that won’t happen until sometime in spring 2025.

You can prepurchase on Steam now, but unless you’re buying the more expensive premium edition, there’s not much reason to. Unless things change later, it looks like you aren’t missing out on any pre-order bonuses. The add-ons Xbox lists are bundled with the game.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle editions and prices

MachineGames has two editions of the new Indiana Jones game, and unlike with some other modern games, the prices don’t vary wildly depending on your platform.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle standard edition: $69.99

Things get a little confusing here. Steam doesn’t list these add-ons for the standard edition, so it looks like they might be an Xbox-only thing.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle premium edition: $99.99

• Temple of Doom outfit
• Digital artbook
• 3 days of early access before launch

These add-ons are all part of the premium edition on Steam as well.

I'm looking for a light towable trailer and recently saw the Award RV Travel Trailers. They seem to be well built and have a unique styling. Anyone have any experience with them?

Award RV Travel Trailers, Any Good? Although the company A.B.I. is no longer in existance, the Award trailers were a pretty good product, extremely light weight. Well cared for should provide many years of good service. I do have a problem with the way they mount the a/c on a slant.

Award RV Travel Trailers, Any Good? BSmith, Thanks for posting the link. I've actually found 4 used ones in my area since I started looking. One had SEVERE fiberglass delamination problems (run away fast!!!) so that was out. The others looked decent but were more expensive than new models of other trailers. I'm not sure if they're that much better or not. Thanks again for remembering and posting the link for me.

Award RV Travel Trailers, Any Good? I have an Award (classic 30) which I bought used 2 years ago from the factory in Dunville. I had problems with the brakes and it turned out to be a defective axle. They replaced it no charge and have been really good with general service and follow up. The majority of the parts are easily obtained and the level of craftmanship is very high. I tow it with a 318 V8 Dakota and get good mileage (average 12 but sometimes 15 mpg) at about 60mph. It handles so well sometimes I don't bother to use anti sway bars. Just for fun you might want to consider checking out what the factory has in used units and driving over to take advantage of the cheap Canadian $. Tom

National News | Trump’s New Jersey golf club to host Jan. 6 awards gala

“Join us for an unforgettable evening at the J6 Awards Gala , where we will honor and celebrate the 20 defendants who contributed to the powerful ‘Justice for All’ song ,” as well as “all J6 defendants who have shown incredible courage and sacrifice,” reads an invite from Stand in the Gap, the group sponsoring the Sept. 5 event at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster.

“Justice for All” was recorded by the January 6 Prison Choir , made up of a small number of the nearly 500 people who have been put behind bars for their roles in the deadly riot. The song features 20 inmates singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” while the former president recites the Pledge of Allegiance.

Donald Trump and former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani are listed as “invited guest speakers” to the event, where a single general admission ticket costs $1,500. It’s not known if Giuliani will attend the party, while a New York Times source said Trump does not plan to be there .

Trump, who’s seeking reelection and awaiting sentencing on his own felony convictions, refers to MAGA supporters who participated in the attack on the Capitol as “hostages” he plans to turn loose if he becomes president again.

Money raised at the event will provide aid to the Trump loyalists arrested in connection with the uprising and their families, according to organizers.

Olivia Troy, who served as counterterrorism advisor to Vice President Mike Pence — who Trump supporters tried to hang for overseeing the certification of President Biden’s 2020 electoral win on Jan. 6 — expressed outrage over the J6 Awards Gala.

“Trump hosting a Jan. 6 Awards Gala is absolutely horrid,” she wrote on social media. “Celebrating the people who endangered the life of his own vice president and glorifying violence is a dangerous assault on our democracy and a disgraceful rewriting of history. We must all stand together against him.”

Invites to the gala do not state what kind of awards will be handed out nor how winners will be decided.
