Is there a height requirement to participate in the tour?

• Wet Jet Tour:  Children must be 44 inches (average 6 year old) tall
• Freedom Jet Dry Tour: Children must be 40 inches (average 4 year old) tall

Do I have to reconfirm my tour?

Am i going to get wet.

• The Wet Jet experience, the name says it all.  On this tour - YES - you will get wet!  A change of clothes is recommended for after the tour (change rooms are available on site).
• On the Freedom Dry experience, guests receive the same experience but stay dry. Small bags, cameras, cellphones, wallets, etc. are allowed on this trip.

Niagara Whirlpool Jet boat Tours offers two versions of their high powered craft. The first is the “open” style and the other we refer to as the “jetdome”. The jetdome has a completely enclosed cabin for those wishing to have a dry ride. Below are some important details regarding our tours. For those of you who have never experienced the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour remember that besides an awe inspiring ride that YOU WILL GET SOAKING WET! There are private changing rooms available for use before and after your ride.  All Jet boat locations offer food and beverage service for your convenience so you can relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Niagara River before or after your Jet Boat ride.

Our Jet boat tour has allowed over two million guests to enjoy the power and beauty of Niagara’s class 5 whitewater rapids. Experience the thrill of our Hamilton 360 turns, the Shower before the Power and the rush of the rapids. The Whirlpool Jet Boat tour is now the most popular white water ride on the planet!

Whirlpool Jet Boat Tour

You will be absolutely soaked, so please bring a full change of clothes (undergarments too!) Passengers must be at least 44″ (112cm) tall. This is your average 6-year-old. You may bring glasses, sunglasses, a hat and a waterproof camera on board. Putting a camera in a plastic bag does not make it waterproof. We will provide all necessary gear to keep you as comfortable as possible, including a certified life jacket. We have splash sandals available for purchase in our River Shop. If you would like to wear your own shoes or sandals, please ensure that the sandals have a strap that wraps around the back of your ankle. As the weather dictates, we will also provide ponchos, splash suits and sweaters. We have sizes to fit most people.

Whirlpool Jet DRY Freedom Jet Tour

Our DRY Freedom Jet tour is the perfect alternative for those on a tight schedule, who don’t want to get wet or who are traveling with children between the ages of 4-6. The Freedom Jet follows the exact same route as the Wet Jet tour but keeps our passengers dry!

Passengers must be at least 40″ (102cm) tall. This is your average 4-year-old. You may bring a camera on board, but please remember that there is minimal storage on our jet boats. We will provide a certified life jacket which is mandatory for this tour. The glass dome that encloses the vessel keeps you from getting wet, so feel free to bring a camera or cellphone to record the experience!

You must arrive on site at least 45 minutes prior to departure time.

Reservations are necessary and our tours depart rain or shine. We have never cancelled a tour due to inclement weather.

Anyone under the age of 16 must ride with an adult 18 or older.

We do not reserve specific seats on any of our boats.

All passengers must be able to support their own weight with their arms while seated.

Expectant mothers are not permitted on our tours and we do not recommend this tour for persons with a history of heart, neck or back problems.

Izzy and Capt Alex were awesome! I went with 2 buddies last Thursday and it was quite the experience. I enjoyed going up the rapids and doing donuts was probably my favorite. The water was uncomfortably cold at near 50° so I'd recommend not taking the uncovered boat until its warmed up a bit.

It's a lot of money for a short boat ride. The least they could do is give you a clean life vest. Mine was covered in black mold and when I asked for a cleaner one, the lady (Sam) said, "They all look like that. Wear the one you have or don't ride." She was so rude and hostile about it. There were tons of life vests hanging all around us, but she just refused to give me a different vest. It was weird how aggressive she was being. It was so awkward, everyone in my group was just shocked by her attitude and it kinda ruined my boat ride. Also, they told us that if we don't pose for the picture, then we can't ride the boat. How weird is that?

We had a great time It was May, so we chose the covered boat version. The river water was so cold if we had the open boat and were soaked , we would have been so wet and uncomfortable This was a great trip up the river for the rapids so much fun dipping in the rapids and just chilling on the river. A little expensive but as expected This was the Canadian side but they also have one I. Lewiston NY

Taylor was a great guide full of interesting knowledge and Captain Jon was the bomb! Great time!!! Prepare to be soaked.

Fun! Ella and captain Mike were awesome. Wish we were allowed to go all the way to the falls but I'm assuming maid of the mist is what you'd be looking for. People in the west zone definitely were drenched, us in the covered portion stayed dry.

The jet boat tour was a really fun and a worth it experience! The tour guides are fun and entertaining. They take you up and down a specific section of the rapids and it was great to see Niagara Falls in this way. The photo package was not worth the cost in my opinion. They advertise providing 10-20 of the best photos of your group, but it isn't made clear that the "group" includes everyone you share a boat with. So if your group is small, then you may end up with only one or two photos of your actual party. I emailed customer service twice to inquire about this, but they never responded to me.

This tour was a BLAST! We did the "wet" tour, like idiots. We got soaked and had a great time. We will never forget our experience. Would HIGHLY recommend this adventure. Captain did a nice job drowning us and Grace narrated entire experience hilariously. You only live once -- might as well get wet!

This was about 40 minutes of rip-roaring adrenaline-soaking fun that was well worth the reduced family rate of $60 each (normally $67 Canadian). After purchasing our tickets online and getting to the Floral Clock, we just missed the free full-sized motor coach shuttle. We were then given printed directions to get to the start point which had free parking. Wife did not think she would do well with her neck pain, so she had car gasoline duty, and actually had a nice time on her own while Dad, Daughter, and Son got to ride the rapids. We all had a safety briefing, got into our life jackets, put on some water shoes (provided if needed and cleaned after use by dunking them in soapy bins of water), and boarded the boat. It seats about 50 fully loaded. Because we boarded early, we chose to sit in the first row. This row is guaranteed to be very soaking. The boat itself is shovel shaped to dig into the rapids, and there are four channels down the bow right into the front rows' laps. Actually, everyone is getting wet, just we were even more so. There are three staff in charge of each trip and a running commentary. You get about 5-6 passes through the class 4-5 rapids, and you get to look at the class 6 rapids. Boat staff said you do not want to tackle those because you'll die. So I'm glad we did not try those. The passes through the class 4-5 rapids were enough fun. My daughter was laughing so much having a great time with each pounding wave of water coming overboard onto us. Water got up our noses. Water changed the color of our clothes. Water was all over the place and so much fun. It was cool, but not really cold. After the ride, they have changing rooms, and you can view the GoPro footage and see the photos taken. Staff recommended that, if possible, you go in with another family as the videos and everything is sent digitally. So if you split costs ($60 Canadian for everything) you can then email it to the others. We chose to not buy the footage and just rely on our memories. We absolutely would do this again if we ever return. About $200 Canadian for three. I also tipped $20 American (I asked and was told they pool tips.). This was an extremely positive experience and well worth it. We'll remember this for a long time.
