Despite Street Fighter's extensive lore, the series was never known for its story content. Even SF5's "A Shadow Falls" paled in contrast to offerings from peers like Tekken and Mortal Kombat. However, Street Fighter 6's story campaign, World Tour, creates an open-world RPG experience that promises the series' most immersive adventure yet!

But what does it take to master World Tour? After all, this mode integrates several RPG concepts that fighting fans cannot address with technical prowess alone. On the contrary, leveling up your avatar character requires extensive grinding, savvy resource-managing, and a vast arsenal of combat skills.

Updated July 4, 2023: We've added a video guide to this article to break down our top beginner tips for World Tour in Street Fighter 6.

It's important to acknowledge that World Tour mode is an RPG with fighting game mechanics. So, having strong fighting skills won't be enough to win . Even with stellar technique, if your avatar's stats are low, you'll get overpowered by your masters and high-level avatars.

So, instead of quickly rushing through each chapter, take your time to build up your abilities by engaging in avatar battles, collecting new gear, branching out your skill tree, and pursuing side quests.

Future story missions will become easier, and you may even find rare treasures, unlock new gear, and learn new attacks. Those perks will prove helpful once you challenge other avatars in the Battle Hub.

Watching other players putz around with Master Actions in the Battle Hub may lead you to believe these gestures are purely novelty. However, in World Tour, Master Actions are vital maneuvers for navigating hard-to-reach areas .

One Master Action you'll utilize often is Chun-li's Spinning Bird Kick. This signature aerial attack can carry your character midair, allowing you to move from one platform to another like a human helicopter!

Other actions, like Luke's Rising Uppercut, are perfect for breaking down boxes and crates that contain zenny, items, and gear. In addition, if a denizen of Metro City tries to attack you from midair, Rising Uppercut makes a superb counter-attack to start your match-off with an advantage.

Have you entered your smart device to use an item, only to find out you can't? Yeah, so did we. So, it's back to the pizza parlor for us. Joking aside, many of World Tour's power-up items are only consumable during an avatar battle .

In some regards, this restriction is a good thing since it'll prevent you from wasting items until you genuinely need them. However, if you're looking for an HP top-up, you'll either have to throw down the zennies at a restaurant or engage in an avatar battle.

With this detail in mind, it will behoove you to track your resources between battles . For instance, is it worth saving a couple of hundred zennies to use that Energy Drink when you may need them in a future boss fight? Or is it wise to cut through a city street full of denizens if you waste several items in the process?

If you haven't noticed, item management is another similarity that World Tour has to other RPGs . Unless you're fighting in a traditional three-round match, don't expect your HP to magically regenerate between bouts.

As you fight higher-level avatars, the rewards you can get will become more advantageous. For instance, while fighting on a Brooklyn Highline-Esque location in Metro City, we unlocked a Sumo Belt that added forty defense points to our avatar's stats. That's a significant boost!

But what if you don't feel comfortable walking around in a Sumo Belt (don't look at us, we like to show off the goods)? Fortunately, your avatar has two separate Gear sets:

  • Gear Effects: This is the gear that affects your avatar's stats .
  • Gear Appearance: This is the gear your avatar will appear wearing in-game and to other players .

You can switch between gear sets by selecting the option at the bottom of the Gear tab in your smart device's Status menu. So, go ahead, and equip the Sumo Belt. Who's gonna know?

Zenny makes the world go round in Street Fighter 6. So if you want to keep yourself well-fed, dressed to the nines, and on top of your World Tour errands, you should pick up part-time work. Not only do World Tour's job minigames rake in good money, but they're also a ton of fun !

Part-time jobs will task you with all sorts of challenges. And if you're familiar with Street Fighter's classic arcade bonus games, you'll notice these jobs are similar. Furthermore, they'll allow you to hone your fighting game proficiency. Here are some early examples of part-time jobs from Metro City:

  • Scrap Heap: This job requires you to demolish a giant trunk in a junkyard . It's very similar to the classic car bonus match from SF2. Furthermore, an Overtime section grants extra points after you destroy the truck. Thus, Scrap Heap is perfect for practicing high-damage attacks and combos .
  • Kung Fu Target: This job in Chinatown requires you to break boards held by fellow Kenpo practitioners on all four corners of the screen. In addition, some boards demand several hits to break. This format makes Kung Fu Target helpful for studying spacing and attack range .
  • Hado Pizza: This pizza truck job requires you to assemble various pies via quick and precise button inputs . These inputs range from face button sequences to technical inputs similar to classic Street Fighter commands. If you're struggling with input accuracy, play this minigame .

One of World Tour's most exciting features is its character-building mechanics, including customizable fighting styles, special moves, and super arts . Now, you can make the combatant of your dreams. Do you want Ryu's Shinku Hadouken, Chun-li's Spinning Bird Kick, and Luke's Triple Impact all in one fighter? You can do that!

However, like any martial arts student, you cannot expect to perform whatever skill you want from the beginning. Instead, you must study these techniques under the mentorship of Street Fighter's master characters. Furthermore, you'll become more versed in their style as you get to know them better.

You'll unlock a master's fighting style and a move or two when you initially enroll under their tutelage. However, to unlock their complete move set, you must build your relationship with them by raising that master's Style Level.

So, how do you raise your Style Level? Your Style Level grows whenever you use the respective character's style in matches. Raising your Style Level for a specific character unlocks new conversations and skills, which you'll get alerts for on your smart device.

To reveal these new conversations and skills, you must talk to your master in person at their home base. Completing further discussions with your master will introduce great perks. New skills are one perk. However, you'll also earn texting privileges with your master and illuminating story moments .

Image of Franklin Bellone Borges

In Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode, players are able to study under all of the game’s playable characters in order to learn their fighting styles as well as more about them. But is there a way to reach 100 Bond level fast in the game? Now, here’s how to reach maximum bond level fast in Street Fighter 6 World Tour.

How to Max Out Your Bond Level Fast in Street Fighter 6 World Tour

The quickest way to raise your bond level with your masters in Street Fighter 6 World Tour can be done by giving them their favorite gifts , as each of them will increase their bond by 5 Points. Overall, you will need to buy 20 gifts in order to max out a character’s trust level without doing side quests or sparring.

Differently from each character’s unique gift, which rewards you with 40 Points, you don’t need to complete side quests in order to get the 5 Point gifts, which can be farmed by purchasing them from merchants all over the world. You can check out the best gift for each master in our Favorite Gifts for Each Master in Street Fighter 6 guide .

How to Increase Your Style Rank Fast in Street Fighter 6 World Tour

Differently from your bond level, which will allow you to learn more about the masters and unlock their classic costumes, leveling up your Style Rank will allow you to learn each character’s Signature Super Arts, and more.

With that said, you can increase your Style Rank fast by first consuming either a Milkshake or a Blueberry Smoothie . You will be able to order the Milkshake immediately after completing the Drone Delivery Side Quest and Unlocking the Deliveires App.

Once you consume either item, just equip your desired fighting style and challenge opponents. Many of the fights will also allow you to get large amounts of Style EXP through challenges, so don’t overlook those when challenging an opponent.

For those who already maxed out a Style, you will be able to transfer the excess EXP gained to other Styles by heading to Status and then to Masters.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Best Skills Tier List

Street Fighter 6 ’s World Tour mode will have you engaging in all the standard trappings of any good RPG mode, including a dedicated skill tree that can customize your character’s abilities depending on the choices you make. While picking the best skills and unlocking the fighting style that suits you best are both ideal, World Tour gives your character such a myriad of options that can certainly feel a bit daunting if you don’t know what to expect out of the lengthy adventure ahead of you.

To that end, we’ve prepared this guide to help you figure out which skills to prioritize sooner rather than later while you journey to become the next legendary fighter. Read on for our choices of the best skills to pick when leveling up in Street Fighter 6, or check out our guide explaining how stats and fighting styles work if you need brushing up.

Table of Contents

Street fighter 6 world tour best skills, mastering skills to level up in street figher 6 world tour mode.

The best skills to pick in Street Fighter 6 World Tour are:

Specialist/Aerial Specialist: Increases the number of special moves you can select.

SA Booster: Increases the max capacity of your SA gauge by 1.

Drive Booster: Increases the max capacity of your Drive gauge by 1.

En Garde: Greatly Increases Defense

Stamina Surge: Greatly increases Max Vitality.

When leveling up in World Tour mode, you’ll have the option to venture up a number of paths on the dedicated skill tree under the Skills tab in the Status menu. There’s no single best skill for your avatar to choose, but there are some that stand out as more useful in the longer term. We’d easily recommend trying to opt for any permanent stat increases towards moves that you often use like punches over kicks if you prefer speaking with your fists.

street-fighter-6-world-tour-best-skills-to-pick

Other than that, the skill tree will often present options that improve important things like the number of special moves you can equip to your avatar’s move set versus some less useful overworld abilities that might increase item drop rates. While tantalizing, we think it’s best to ignore the overworld assist abilities and opt for ones that will help in the long term instead.

First and foremost, we’d recommend you grab as many of the Specialist series of abilities available, you’ll be meeting plenty of mentors and you’ll likely want to mix and match with the number of moves you’ll quickly pick up. Then, focus on the SA and Drive boosters, these will allow you to throw out more Drive Impacts, dashes, and supers and can even help you call in mid-battle assistance from the legendary fighters too, the more you have in your arsenal, the better.

street_-fighter-6-drive-impact

Next, you’ll want to increase your base defense and vitality as soon as possible with En Garde and Stamina Surge, later enemies in the 30+ level range will have plenty of health and increasing strength, while your own health pool can start to lag. You’ll want as much survivability as possible so you can avoid spamming continues after getting caught out in a rough boss fight, keep an eye out for permanent stat upgrades too .

That’s it for the best skills to pick in World Tour mode, be sure to check out our full character tier list to make sure you’ve chosen the best main for you. If you’re looking for more World Tour guides, take a look at how to solve that pesky mystery code in Chapter 8 .

Street Fighter 6 – How to Rank Up Styles Quickly in World Tour Mode

Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is the first entry in the series in a long time to feature an expensive single-player mode called World Tour where players can use their avatar character to travel the world and discover the meaning of strength.

On this journey, players will meet a lot of different characters, and some of these Legendary Fighters they will meet will teach them everything they know. Unfortunately, not all of their special moves will become available for your character as soon as you enroll with any of these masters. Like for everything worth having, you will have to work hard to expand your combat possibilities.

While your character earns Experience Points by defeating opponents in Metro City and beyond, the avatar you have created cannot learn new special moves simply by leveling up. To do so, you will need to rank Styles up. Doing so individually for all 18 Styles can be a chore, but there are some ways to speed up the process and grant you access to a variety of different moves to create your unique fighting style.

The most basic of ways to rank up a Style is to equip it as your main Style. To do so, open up your smartphone, pick the Stats app, go to the Gear tab, and select Style. Here, you will find all the Styles you have unlocked so far. By defeating any opponent with a certain Style equipped, you will gain Experience Points for it and eventually rank it up once you have obtained enough.

level up world tour sf6

There are ways, thankfully, to earn Experience Points for Styles that are not currently equipped. As you approach any fightable character in any of the game's locations, a small window will appear above their heads to provide basic information on the character, such as level, bonus items that can be obtained by meeting certain conditions, and more. If you see a small picture of one of the Street Fighter 6 main characters to the right of the information window, it means that that fighter is a student of the depicted character, so if you defeat them, you will gain Experience Points for that particular Style as well. Some of these opponents can also grant additional Experience Points if certain conditions are met, so make sure to fulfill them to speed up your grinding. Additionally, once you unlock Drone Delivery in Metro City by completing the Drone Delivery sub mission, you will be able to purchase an item that increases Style Experience gain for a set amount of time, which will further speed up grinding.

level up world tour sf6

Unfortunately, once you defeat an opponent in Street Fighter 6 World Tour mode, you cannot challenge them again until a new story Chapter begins, so you cannot fight them repeatedly. Do keep track of them, however, so that you can fight them again when a new Chapter begins to get those sweet extra Experience Points and unlock even more combat options.

Street Fighter 6's Replay and V-Rival Features Explained

Stardew valley player only discovers helpful feature after three game years, baldur's gate 3: astarion leaves bg4's character design at a fork in the road.

The latest installment in the Street Fighter series, Street Fighter 6 , is set to introduce one of the most iconic fighting game characters in Terry Bogard when an update drops on September 24. The protagonist of SNK’s Fatal Fury series has become a legend, taking on a life separate from his native franchise; widely recognizable by his red cap, jacket, and powerful hand-to-hand combat. Terry is practically the face of the franchise and is usually the first-choice character for publicity reps or crossovers like this Street Fighter 6 collaboration.

To this point, it came as no surprise when, during Summer Game Fest 2024, the crossover between Capcom and SNK was first announced, which teased debuts for Mai Shiranui and Terry Bogard in the critically acclaimed fighting game. However, it wasn’t until Gamescom Opening Night Live that fans glimpsed Terry's would-be representation in Street Fighter 6 . Based on previews of SF6 's Terry Bogard at the event, he appears to have lost none of his endearing swag, since he is a near-identical version of his Fatal Fury iterations -- from his taunts down to minute body movements and overall style.

The next update for Street Fighter 6 brings Replay and V-Rival to the game, and this what players can expect from these features.

Terry’s Character Design, Taunts, And Animations Make Him Feel Right At Home In Street Fighter

It's not a new development for Capcom to lend characters to other franchises, but Terry's introduction in Street Fighter 6 raised a few eyebrows. For starters, he's the first character outside of the Capcom sphere to become playable in a mainline Street Fighter game, leading to concerns about whether the developers would nail his likeness. Injecting foreign talent into an established franchise can be tricky for even the most capable devs.

However, judging by the fluidity of Terry's moves in glimpses, Street Fighter 6 seems to have retained most of what makes his character tick. His move set is particularly eye-catching, as the modern standards of a Street Fighter title have brought his skills to an enhanced light, as Capcom sought to bring his iconic stance and Super Arts like the Power Wave and Burn Knuckle up to speed without altering their traditional appearance.

Capcom's Focus on Tradition with Terry Bogard Could Yield Dividends

The positives of Terry Bogard's Street Fighter 6 likeness highlighted in the brief showcase extend beyond movement mechanics. Past SNK iterations outfitted him with a red cap and leather jacket, and in terms of mannerisms, he fought with a customary confident demeanor that endeared him to fans. That's part of the trifecta that made Terry a legend: a simple yet classy style, and deadly fighting combinations.

Street Fighter as a franchise has unique animation and art styles, so it wouldn't have been out of place for a few things to get some tweaks in their attempt to get things right. However, from all indications, Terry's movements have been identical to those from the Fatal Fury games , from throwing a punch to intricate details like taunts and even victory poses. In the Fatal Fury titles, Terry was notably easy to use and was a popular choice for his smooth learning curve, and that's an essential aspect of his character that seems to have carried over into Street Fighter 6 . He remains an excellent mid-range option, closing down enemies with remarkable speed and using combos to full effect.

To further help with the launch campaign, Street Fighter recently released Terry Bogard's gameplay trailer on YouTube for fans to get familiar with his animations and quirks. The similarities to his Fatal Fury days are near uncanny, and if he's any indicator, fans of the franchise can expect something similar with Mai Shiranui when they make their appearance.
