Really great day! We lucked out with the weather and had clear views at each gorgeous destination (seriously magical landscape). Our guide, Pedro, was awesome! Really knowledgeable about the history, geology, ecosystem, culture, and anything else you can think of. Kept us engaged and spoke very good English. Pedro was an amazing guide! My partner and I did the Cotopaxi horse riding tour, and had a great time. Pedro was very easy to talk with and provided lots of information on Ecuador and the surrounding volcanoes. Pick up was prompt, and the horse riding itself was fun, with very gentle and calm horses. Also got to see some activity from Cotopaxi volcano - it was spouting out ash and steam. Would recommend this tour to anyone :)

We did the Cotopaxi tour and Pedro was a great guide. He is very friendly and personable. He found spots to photograph on the way to Cotopaxi which was great. He gave us time to enjoy and is very knowledgeable about flowers, volcanos and Ecuador. We drove to the end of the park road to see cotopaxi. Then we walked awhile around the lake and saw some birds. We had logistical problems with our luggage from our flight to Ecuador and he was very helpful in talking to the airlines to help solve them. Lunch was included and very good. A very enjoyable experience.

Pedro was a great tour guide and thought of everything! He made sure I had vegetarian options for lunch, and we even fed a llama at the restaurant. The volcano is absolutely stunning, and this tour is so worth it.

We went to the Cotopaxi volcano to start the day. This included a museum tour and viewing on the Cotopaxi volcano. We then travelled to Quilotoa lake, we walked down to the bottom and hiked back up. It takes around 1.5 - 2 hours. The views were incredible. Our tour guide Veronica was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. Thank you!

Ever wondered what it would be like to survey your kingdom from the top of a castle?

A newly listed, regal residence , nestled between 40 acres of rolling fields and mountains in Bedford, WY , presents that opportunity for $14 million.

Known as Bedford Castle, the property is nestled in an agricultural area with breathtaking mountain views.

“The location, for one thing, is one of the most impressive features of the property,” Speakman says. “It is filled with trees and views galore that are some of the best in the valley. It offers total seclusion and a feeling of real privacy up there. The property was farmed, so the seller planted all of the trees.”

Lavish highlights include stone floors; a custom, stainless steel staircase; dual towers; and an underground tunnel system accessible via “secret hidden holes.” There’s even an underground shop and a vault room for added security. Above the shop, there is a helipad for easy access in and out of the property.

“There are many fun things to explore here,” Speakman notes. “Inside, there are pillars and towers.”

Ornate details

The palatial property comes with one feature that commoners and royalty alike can appreciate.

“Castles are mostly dark, but this one is really neat because it has lots of windows for natural light,” Speakman explains.

A spiral, stainless steel staircase accesses all five levels of the residence and leads to the tallest tower.

Other luxe details include radiant-heat floors, six fireplaces, stone balconies, custom beams, crown molding, and a copper roof.

“When you climb to the top of the tower, the owner has a telescope where you can see forever valley views,” Speakman adds.

About that moat

An enormous living room has wood, cathedral ceilings and glass walls filled with the surrounding natural scenery.

“There is also a beautiful rock fireplace that takes up the whole wall,” Speakman says.

A greenhouse, game room, fitness center, numerous walking and biking trails, and a bridge-accessed moat all sweeten the listing.

Speakman says the seller uses the dwelling a primary residence, but she envisions it as a secondary home for the next owner.

“It is very unique, very one-of-a-kind, so well built and maintained and has an incredible castle feel to it,” she says. “I think the next owner will be someone who is looking for privacy and seclusion … with a dream of living in their very own castle.”
