I read from various forums that this is a comfortable overnight train. I have tried to search in Russia Rail and see how much it costs but then i realised there is no such Number of train even that I try to switch between different dates.
May I ask if this particular train can be reserved at Russia Rail or is this operated by any other private company? I am assuming it did not run everyday?
Can someone ket me know about their experience on this train, that would be great. Or if any of you have other train suggestion, I noticed there are a lot of other trains but no idea of what and how good they are. any information would be much appreciated. Thanks!!
It must have been discontinued - there's no mention of it on the rzd.ru site and the Russian wikipedia article describes it in the past tense not giving any detalis on its demise.

is it too risky to buy my overnight ticket when I land in St petersburg, that would be 3 days before my travel date.
and If I opt for the sapsan day train, can i just buy it right when i want to travel?

You run the risk of maybe not having tickets available, but also price will be way higher (at least 50%) due to change in policy - more market based.
When are you traveling, including day of week as closer to weekends is worse.
Finally I was able to use another computer to navigate.
May I ask what is the difference of : Luxury, soft and compartment.
The price shown is for a private room or for one person only? we are 2 persons travelling together.

I THINK I am interpreting right...glad you got in! You are also lucky in that they will probably accept your credit card as payment - they reject all North American credit cards because it seems we over here are all evil hackers ;-)

I had a 7.3 and 6.0 excursion, and I would reccomend the 6.0, as long as you do the maintence. the 6.0 has more power. The 6.0 gets better fuel mileage than the 7.3. My 7.3 never got above 15 mpg on the hwy, and the 6.0 gets on the avg of 17.5. The 7.3 was in the excursion from 2000-2002 and the 6.0 was 2003-2005.
988 posts · Joined 2000. #7 · Nov 28, 2007. I sold my 2003 6.0 Excursion a month ago and it was perfect the four years or so I had it. I also had a 2000 7.3 Excursion before it but the 6.0 would blow the doors off of it. The 7.3 with 4-speed AT was a slug compared to the 6.0 with 5-speed Torqshift.

Hey everyone, Im looking for some advice about installing some studs on a 6.0 powerstroke excursion... I know on the fseries pickups you can pull the cab off for headgasket/head stud installations, but what about on an excursion? Can you pull the entire body off of these? Or is just pulling the ac box and doing in cab best option?
