Would highly recommend the tour with its new additions including the precinct, police station, exhibition of artefacts and replicas of the interior of the Rovers Return and Roy’s Rolls.

Our guide Sid was excellent – amusing and very informative. All the staff we came across were enthusiastic and friendly.

We had a lovely time, our guide Daniel was brilliant, very informative about the show past and present. We loved our time there had plenty of opportunities for photos, I enjoyed the exhibition at the end seeing all the outfits from characters and the rovers and Roy’s rolls set up. Fantastic would highly recommend.

The Coronation Street tour is great for fans of the show. You get to walk along the famous cobbles and see the outside sets. We chose to go on a star tour and met Andy Whyment who plays Kirk. It was good to see some peices from the set too. Our tour guide Callum was very knowledgeable and made our tour enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Coronation Street tour gets huge expansion with new sets, cinema and café

The Coronation Street Experience is set to open at the ITV Studios at Stretford, Manchester on June 10, meaning fans of the soap can take a seat in Roy’s Rolls and stand behind the bar at the Rovers

coronation st set tour

  • 10:02, 19 May 2023
  • Updated 13:03, 19 May 2023

Guests will be able to take a seat in Roy's Rolls once the brand new Coronation Street Experience opens.

The world’s longest running soap will open its doors even wider with the launch of the brand new attraction bringing some of the most beloved parts of the soap to life on June 10.

The recently opened visitor centre has been home to the programme’s tours for the past few months and is now fully developed into a one stop shop for every Corrie fan giving access to replica sets, historic props, iconic costumes and of course the Corrie ‘shop’.

For seven days a week the Corrie Experience will also be open, meaning fans can take a seat in Roy’s Rolls, stand behind the bar at The Rovers and see iconic costumes and props from over 60 years of drama at the ITV Studios at Stretford, Manchester.

The award-winning 90-minute tour has been hugely popular since it launched in 2014, attracting fans not just from the UK but from all over the world. The new exhibition floor will complement the tour, alongside a cinema, café and retail space.

In addition to the replica sets and original props, the tour itself has also evolved to include access to new sets such as Weatherfield Precinct, letting visitors discover even more secrets from their expert tour guides.

They will also get a chance to take a look at the factory, Underworld, and Dev's shop The Kabin and every other part of the famous cobbled street.

Armed with all the local knowledge and behind-the-scenes secrets, the guides will take their guests through the whole street, reminding them of some of the iconic storyline moments that took place as well as snap a selfie - or two - on the iconic road.

The Corrie set is located in Manchester at MediaCity, which sits on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford and Trafford.

Corrie hasn't always been filmed in MediaCity. It was formerly located at the Granada Studios in Quay Street, moving over to the new location in 2014.

Neil Currie, guest experience manager, said: "We know that fans of Coronation Street want to get up close to some of the props and sets that they see on screen, be it Deirdre’s infamous glasses, or inside The Rovers Return.

“Having this kind of exhibition floor also gives us the chance to constantly update and change things alongside the programme’s on air stories, once a storyline has played out on your TV screen, we’ll be updating the props and costumes along the way.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer fans of Coronation Street an even more immersive experience with the launch of the Coronation Street Experience and can’t wait for our first guests to arrive."

Tickets for the Coronation Street Experience are available now , with exhibition only tickets costing adults £7.50, children £6 and students £6, with the exhibition and tour costing adults £35, children £26 and students £26.

Coronation Street tour – ticket info, what’s included and whether you’ll meet the cast revealed

  • Jess Wakefield
  • Published : 10:10, 1 Aug 2019
  • Updated : 15:24, 1 Aug 2019

CALLING on all Coronation Street fans out there - you now have the chance to walk along the iconic Cobbles of your favourite soap street while taking a trip down memory lane.

And if you're a local you can even get your hands on reduced price tickets. We've got the lowdown on everything you need to know...

Coronation Street tours will allow you to visit the iconic set

How do I get tickets to the Coronation Street tour?

You can get tickets to the tour at the official website here.

Tickets start at £25 for Adult Resident's Admission which is between August and October and is available to local residents with an M postcode.

However, if you aren't from the Manchester area you can still enjoy what's on offer with a Coronation Street The Tour Admission.

The ticket which includes a fully guided tour of the famous set will set you back £35 - and children between 5-15 years can enjoy the festivities too with a half price ticket at £17.50.

And you're in luck because tours run between 9am-6pm on the weekends that the cast aren't filming - so there's ample opportunity to enjoy what's on offer.

Fancy window shopping at Roy's Rolls?

What's included in the tour?

Be prepared to take a little trip down memory lane on the iconic Cobbles .

In an 80-minute tour you'll be guided through some of Corrie's famous landmarks - including Weatherfield's very own Rosamund Street and the never-before-seen Victoria Street.

Oh and you can even window shop at Preston's Petals and Roy's Rolls while you're at it.

During the guided tour you'll be reminded of some of the show's most gripping storylines as well as let in on a few inside secrets too if you're lucky.

And of course it's the perfect location for an Instagram-worthy selfie.

The tour takes place at Manchester's MediaCityUK in Salford, Manchester - and it's advised that you take the tram from Manchester City if you want the fastest route to the set.

You won't meet the cast but you will get to see the set in the flesh

Will I meet the cast?

Unfortunately it's highly unlikely that you'll get to meet any of your favourite characters as the tour takes place when the cast and crew aren't filming.

So unless you happen to be lucky enough to chance across a cast member who's decided to pop in on their day off, you might have to accept that the set is the only part of the show that you'll be able to enjoy in the flesh.

However, fret not, there's a whole host of other things to do and bundles of entertainment included in the fun day out!

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

When are EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale on TV during the Euros and Wimbledon?

author image

Peter Beale running past the Rovers Return, Queen Vic and The Woolpack with Euros flags and tennis balls overlaid

Soap fans, we’re sorry to say that Coronation Street , Emmerdale and EastEnders ’ schedules will continue to be thrown about in order to facilitate ITV and the BBC ’s sport coverage.

Mostly, this is the The UEFA European Football Championship 2024 . That’s Euro 2024 to those of you (like us) that are less football savvy. If Weatherfield County qualify – and as long as cheating Tommy Orpington hasn’t signed for the team , consider us intrigued.

It’s something which divides the fandoms , often at war with each other as to who deserves the coveted place within the schedules.

The championship takes place every four years, though the last one was held in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The first game of the group stages kicked off on Friday, June 14th and disruption to our visits to soapland can be expected through to the final in Berlin on Sunday, July 14th.

As schedules are only published so far in advance, we only know what’s happening over the next week for now.

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video

There’s also coverage of Wimbledon approaching on BBC One. The Championships is the oldest tennis tournament in the world.

This only affects BBC One, which has the rights to air the tournament over ITV.

Don’t worry about the confusion though, as we’ve got you covered with a look ahead to when we can tune in to our favourite soaps…

When are Coronation Street and Emmerdale on this week?

DS Swain and Betsy pose together outside the Coronation Street police station, with Betsy looking moody

Tonight (Monday, July 1st), the soaps air at a slightly later time to facilitate France vs Belgium.

Further disruption follows tomorrow (Tuesday, July 2nd) as there’s no Emmerdale on ITV1.

ITV1 soap schedule up to Monday, July 8th

  • Monday, July 1st: ITV1 airs France vs Belgium followed by Emmerdale at 8pm, and Coronation Street at 9pm (also available on ITVX).
  • Tuesday, July 2nd: No Emmerdale. ITV1 airs Romania vs Netherlands followed by Austria vs Turkiye.
  • Wednesday, July 3rd: Soaps air as normal on ITV1 and ITVX.
  • Thursday, July 4th: Emmerdale airs as normal on ITV1 and ITVX.
  • Friday, July 5th: ITV1 airs Euros coverage followed by Emmerdale at 8:30pm and Coronation Street at 9pm (also available on ITVX).
  • Monday, July 8th: Soaps air as normal on ITV1 and ITVX.

Luckily, it’s business as usual for the remainder of the week, albeit with a few later timeslots.

You’ll also be able tune in on ITVX from 7am each morning.

When is EastEnders on this week?

Harry chats to Penny in EastEnders

The BBC are doing something a little bit differently with EastEnders.

You can actually tune in on BBC iPlayer from 6am each morning that the show would usually air, so you can see them well in advance of their TV airing.

BBC One soap schedule up to Monday, July 8th

  • Monday, July 1st: No EastEnders on television, but it will be on BBC iPlayer. BBC One airs France vs Belgium followed by Portugal vs Slovenia. Two airs coverage of Wimbledon.
  • Tuesday, July 2nd: No EastEnders on television, but it will be on BBC iPlayer. BBC One airs Romania vs Netherlands followed by Australia vs Group F winner. BBC Two airs coverage of Wimbledon.
  • Wednesday, July 3rd: Two episodes of EastEnders will air on BBC Two from 7pm as BBC One airs coverage of Wimbledon.
  • Thursday, July 4th: Two episodes of EastEnders will air on BBC Two from 7pm as BBC One airs coverage of Wimbledon.
  • Friday, July 5th: No EastEnders as usual.
  • Monday, July 8th: EastEnders will air on BBC Two. BBC One hosts coverage of Wimbledon.

Luckily, BBC Two will be taking one for the team and becoming a temporary home to the residents of Albert Square for select episodes throughout the sports coverage.

To make matters more confusing, episodes are doubled up on Wednesday and Thursday to make up for the fact that they aren’t airing on TV earlier in the week.

Will any other soaps be affected by Euros coverage?

Unfortunately, there’ll be no Casualty on BBC One or BBC Two this week (as per last week), due to coverage of England vs Switzerland and Wimbledon.

Fingers crossed they’ll be back soon!

Luckily, none of the other soaps, such as Hollyoaks or Neighbours , are affected.

Coronation Street’s Toyah Battersby to make big Rowan discovery

Toyah does some investigating.

preview for Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Lauren's return drama

Coronation Street ’s Toyah Battersby is set to make a big discovery next week after digging for dirt on Rowan Cunliffe .

As previously reported by Digital Spy , things will escalate next week as charismatic cult leader Rowan begins to blackmail Nick Tilsley as part of the soap's ongoing cult storyline.

Fans will know that Leanne Battersby has been drawn into The Institute, a cult led by Rowan, with Nick and Toyah growing increasingly concerned about her involvement with the group.

Next week, Leanne tries to pressure Amy into joining The Institute and Rowan suggests that Leanne invests £40k in the business.

Rowan attempts to blackmail Nick into investing in a new resource centre by threatening to expose Nick's secret affair with Leanne's sister Toyah.

In scenes set to air on Friday, July 19, Toyah finds Rowan's driving licence after rifling through his jacket pockets. Toyah decides to reverse image search the picture of him. What will she find and will she be able to turn the tables on Rowan with this new discovery?

Rowan star Emrhys Cooper is being tipped to exit the soap soon as Rowan, which hints that the cult storyline might soon come to a close. Though not before things escalate further.

DS understands that Rowan's time on the Cobbles was always intended to run for a fixed period of time.

Last month, Rowan actor Emrhys Cooper opened up about his character's intentions, saying that Rowan wouldn't stop after brainwashing Leanne and could target more characters , the latest of which is Amy.

"I think that he really wants to open another resource centre, so he’s on a mission to raise the investment needed, however he can do that," he said.

"And he wants to ‘help’ more people, so there might be some more characters he’s bringing into the organisation…."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX .
