Review of B-Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour in London

Pin for B Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

Having afternoon tea in London is always something I’ve wanted to check off my list! After loads of research, I was so excited to try the afternoon tea bus tour offered by Brigit’s Bakery. Not only did we get to have afternoon tea but also ride on a vintage double-decker bus all around London. Such a fun and exciting way to spend our first afternoon in the city!

Booking Process & Cost

Booking online is super easy.

The process was easy and straightforward. Bookings are quickly completed online through the  company’s website.  During the booking process, you can select which table you’ll be sitting, which menu you require, or if you’d like any of their available add-ons such as champagne or a souvenir.

The traditional afternoon tea bus tour starts at £45 per person plus any additional items you decide to add on. We added on a half bottle of champagne for £28 extra.

Time to get on the Bus!

What a gorgeous vintage double-decker bus.

We chose Victoria Coach Station as our departure point. When you first arrive, check the screens by the main doors to see which gate the bus will depart. The bakery asks that you arrive twenty minutes before your scheduled departure time.

After a long day of travelling, we were excited to get going on the bus. But we ran into a bit of a speed bump when we didn’t board the bus for almost thirty minutes later than our scheduled departure time. We sat waiting for nearly forty-five minutes at the bus station waiting. And if you’ve ever been to Victoria Coach Station, I’m sure you’ll agree it’s not exactly somewhere you’d like to hang out. I was a bit annoyed.

Once we got on the bus, my mood quickly lifted. I was so pleased with everything I saw. The decor is so cute. I loved the retro look! The tables were set, and the food looked delicious! The tea tray was filled with tasty looking sandwiches, muffins, desserts and pastries all ready for us to dig in.

The Afternoon Tea Bus Tour Starts!

Here we go.

During the afternoon tea bus tour, you’ll cruise by some of the most famous tourist sites in London, such as the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, St.James Park, Harrods, and Westminster Abbey to name a few.

Bus Tour Route from B Bakery guidebook.

But if getting a tour of London is your main reason for booking this bus tour you may be disappointed. With the general ambient noise from the other guests chatting and eating plus the sounds of the bus and surrounding traffic, it was pretty hard to hear the tour all the time. If you are looking for an informative tour of London, I would not recommend the tea bus for this reason.

Once you’re whizzing through the crazy London traffic. Bouncing and bumping around on the bus, with the din of the other passengers. Plus, all the yummy food in front of you, the tour becomes the last thing on your mind

And you still do get to see some of the sights. For first-timers to London, the general splendour and craziness of the city are fascinating!

Food & Drinks

Tea Tray on B Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

Once the bus tour has started on its way, the staff stops by each table and takes your drink order. You can choose from a long list of teas, or if you’re not a tea drinker, they have coffee, cappuccino, lattes, hot chocolate and water. One of my favourite things was the spill-proof cup that they gave us our hot drink in (which we got to take home!).

Alcoholic drinks are available but must be pre-purchased when you complete your booking. They are unable to sell any alcohol during the bus tour, so if this is something you’d like, make sure to add it to your cart during your initial booking. We purchased a half bottle of champagne to drink during the trip. It was the perfect amount for us for the time available after we had our cup of tea.

Champagne on B Bakery afternoon tea bus tour

There were two staff members on board with us plus the bus driver. They were super friendly and accommodating. They were happy to provide us with tips and advice for travelling in London as well as just a friendly chat.

There are so many  different afternoon teas  available in London, so once we narrowed it down, it was pretty easy to choose this company on its uniqueness alone. The idea of having a tour of London while having tea sounded like a lot of fun! And it was!

  • The food was delicious, especially the desserts!
  • The staff was friendly and helpful.
  • The rush of the city passing by created a fun backdrop to our first British afternoon tea experience.

Our bus tour left Victoria Station and toured around the city for about an hour and a half, and we enjoyed every minute of it! I would do it again for sure and recommend it to anyone travelling to London!

Celebrating an occasion

We took our friends on an afternoon tea on Brigit's Bus, the food and service was excellent, the staff we very friendly and we had a lovely time celebrating the friends Golden Wedding Anniversary. The weather was cloudy but it did not spoil the trip. It was a lovely afternoon. We look forward to doing it again.

Cute way to see London

Afternoon Tea + London bus is a brilliant combination. Nice staff and good music in the background. We really enjoyed it. And it looks good in Instagram!

A lovely tour of London with delicious food & drink!

We went on a Brigit's Afternoon Tea Bus in London on a Wednesday afternoon. The staff members, Katherine and Aziz, were very nice and friendly, serving our drinks and easily answering any questions that we had. The food was delicious, especially the desserts!

Luxury afternoon

A wonderful experience food drinks and excellent service. We went at 3pm, were not rushed in any way and the cocktails were top notch.

Fantastic Experience

Booked for 2 couples (all around aged 50 😉) for tour and afternoon tea. Greeted by very pleasant and fun staff. Sandwiches and cakes were already at our table and very well presented. Tasted great and was more than enough (couldn't finish it all). We had 2 bottles prosecco pre-ordered and both were chilled and served as required. Good mix of upbeat music for all ages played throughout the 90 minute tour. Little snippets of information on the sites thrown in too

Superb experience

Booked this as a surprise for my daughter before seeing a London show. What an overall amazing experience. From getting on the bus to leaving the bus it was worth every penny, driving around London seeing the key sights and the food was gorgeous. We had the vegetarian and they were varied and fresh. Giving a little box to take home uneaten sandwiches/cakes was genius as it was more than it looked. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I highly recommend this and we will do it again.

B Bakery Bus Tour: The Best Afternoon Tea Tour in London

B Bakery bus tour - Best afternoon tea tour London - Inside Bus

All aboard! Hold onto your glass. It’s the Brigit’s Bakery Afternoon Tea bus tour. Enjoy London’s iconic sites from the comfort of a beautifully restored 1960s vintage double decker bus with a glass of Prosecco in hand and scrumptious scones in the belly. Nom nom!

Whether you live in London like me, are visiting for the first or umpteenth time, joining a B Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus London Tour is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with friends or family.

The Brigit’s Bakery specialises in Afternoon Tea. But they take things a step further so you can actually pick where you want it. Choose from dining in their luxury bakery in Covent Garden, cruising along the thames on a B Boat Tour or hopping aboard a B Afternoon Tea Bus London Tour –  like I did.

But that’s not all.

Brigit’s Bakery also provide themed Afternoon Tea tours, from Gin to Halloween. With Christmas around the corner, I was invited to join their Christmassy Afternoon Tea.

Here’s everything you need to know about Brigit’s Bakery Afternoon Tea bus tour.

What to expect on a Brigit’s Bakery Afternoon Tea bus tour?

On the day of the tour, head to the Victoria Coach Station where the tour departs. I recommend you aim to arrive roughly 20-30 minutes before departure as to allow plenty of time to get your name checked off the list and settle into your seat.

When you board the bus, you’ll be led to your table which you chose at the time of booking. Seating is available upstairs or downstairs so book early if you know you want to sit up the top.  All tables are already arranged and beautifully dressed and on each seat you’ll find your own tote bag of goodies. No spoilers!

Shortly after everyone is seated, the tour leader will give a welcome message while the servers come around to fill up your glass with Prosecco.

It’s time to depart. Off we go!

For the next hour and a half you’ll drive through the heart of London passing by iconic landmarks and historical buildings with soft background music. As you approach each attraction, the music is briefly interrupted with an audio commentary.

Keep an eye out the window to see Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, St James’s Park, Hyde Park, The Royal Albert Hall, Marble Arch, Nelson’s Column, and Downing Street just to mention a few.

For Christmas Afternoon Tea I was on, the B Bus Tour followed a unique route along Regent’s Street so we could see the beautiful Christmas Lights.

Throughout the tour, our glasses were constantly topped up without us needing to ask. Roughly half-way through the tour, after most of us had finished eating the savoury food, the servers came around with warm scones with clotted cream and took our tea orders.

By the end of the tour I was feeling a little tipsy, but very content.  We were each given a little fold up cardboard box to take any left over cakes and sandwiches home.

Once back at Victoria Coach station, anyone who hadn’t ordered tea on board were each gifted a lovely Brigits Bakery themed travel mug to take home. I received mine earlier with my order for a Lemon and Ginger tea. With a few more snaps outside of the bus, the B Afternoon Tea Bus was sadly over.

Who is the B Afternoon Tea Bus London Tour for?

Unfortunately, their tours aren’t suitable for accessible patrons and children under 5 are not allowed on board.

Do I recommend joining a B Bus Tour?

Essential tour tips

  • Let them know your dietary requirements – Are you vegan,  follow a gluten free or Halal diet? No problem. Just let the servers know and they’ll provide you with diet friendly sandwiches.
  • Hold onto your glass – I wasn’t kidding when I said to hold onto your glass. The ride can be bumpy at times and the London traffic can be unpredictable with sudden stops so hold onto your class of bubbly to avoid and sudden accidents.
  • Got to the toilet before you board – There are no toilet facilities on board so make sure you use the restrooms either at Victoria Station (these are free) or at Victoria Coach Station (costs 30p) before departing.
  • There’s not a lot of wiggle room – Remember, this is a vintage bus so it’s going to be quite cosy inside. There’s not a lot of space either, so leave any bulky items and shopping bags at home. There is space under your seat but just enough for a handbag or small rucksack.
  • Allow plenty of time to arrive – If you’re not familiar with the Victoria area, be sure to allow an extra 5-7 minutes to walk to the Victoria Coach Station which is completely separate from Victoria Train Station.
  • Flexible departure times – The B Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus London Tour has multiple departure times. For example, there are five daily departures for the Christmas Afternoon Tea Tour at 12:00, 12:30, 14:30, 15:00, 17:00 & 17:30. The tours at 17:00 & 17:30 are the ones that will take your along Regent’s Street to see the Christmas lights.
  • Limited seating –  There might be plenty of departure times but each bus can only dine up to 28 guests. So if you want a spot on the top deck, book early to avoid disappointment .

Many thanks to the Brigit’s Bakery for providing me with a complimentary tour. They did not request a review nor a favourable one, and all opinions here are, as always, my own.

Brigit’s Bakery London Bus Tour Review

There are few things more quintessential when visiting London, or the UK in general, than an afternoon tea. Across the UK hundreds of hotels, restaurants, cafes and other eating establishments put on great selections. But, there is another option – an afternoon tea bus tour.

Tickets for the Brigit’s Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour start from £45 per person, making it really reasonably priced when compared to the prices of many hotel and restaurant. And, unlike the table service hotels and restaurants, you’re also getting the novelty and experience of a bus tour around central London.

So what’s included in the afternoon tea and what should I expect on the tour?

  • Scrummy food
  • On the bus beverages
  • Bus tour route

Brigit’s Bakery: Afternoon Tea & London Bus Tour

Scrummy food.

The afternoon tea on the bus tour is presented on a double-level platter, with a range of sweet and savoury delights. From the stereotypical (but really really good) sandwiches to macaroons and other cakes and pastries, there’s sure to be something you’ll love and devour.

All the sandwiches and cakes are super fresh, light and not too filling; meaning guests are able to savour every flavour available and not feel too full over the course of the hour and a half tour. The platter alone is exquisite but about halfway through the tour, you get offered warm and fresh scones, with clotted cream and jam – something I can rarely turn down, so I hope you don’t either!

Something that was really good to see when chatting to the team and on the Brigit’s Bakery website is that, for those of you with dietary requirements, the bus tour is able to cater to gluten, vegan, veggie and halal requirements. However, I’d still suggest checking their website for the full list of dietary requirements they can and can’t cater to, as these could change on certain days and tours. Also, worth noting, vegan and gluten-free afternoon teas are £3 extra.

Brigit's Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour Food

On The Bus Beverages

As much as the nibbles in an afternoon tea are a showpiece, the drinks are just important. Thankfully, the drinks and the tea selections are just as high quality and extensive as the food.

Every afternoon tea offering includes a selection if ten types of tea and three coffee choices, such as English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Darjeeling teas in addition to Americano and Cappuccino coffees. Hot chocolates, bottled water and some other soft drinks are also available as standard.

If you’re in the mood for something a bit stronger or with a bit of fizz, the Brigit’s Bakery bus offers a range of sparkling wines, prosecco and Champagne as an extra. These can be pre-booked when booking or bought on the bus – which is good as it can be pretty easy to get through a bottle when shared among a few of you.

Prices for the wines and bubbles start from £8 per glass of Prosecco up to £275 for a bottle of Louis Roederer Vintage. Yes, they’re not the cheapest glasses or bottle but, as treat and when split among two or more people, are a fantastic way to add little bit more fizz to your tour.

On my tour, we tried the Prosecco Zia. On the wines list this is cheapest, however, I don’t think anyone really noticed. It’s light, pretty tasty and was generally went really well with the flavours of the sweet and savoury treats on offer.

London Afternoon Tea - Prosecco - Brigit's Bakery

All Aboard The London Bus Tour

The London bus tour takes around an hour and half (1.5 hours). The tour takes you past and through many of famous streets, attractions and sight of London. So, if you’re looking to see a few of London’s sights in one go, it’s really unique way to get around London.

A vintage Routemaster, the bus has two levels or table, each seating 2 people with comfort and 4 with a bit more of a squeeze. Being an older model of bus, the suspension isn’t the most comfortable when going over Londons many infamous potholes. Basically, what I mean, is the ride can be a bit bumpy, so make sure to keep hold of your drinks or put them in one of the drink holders on your table.

Despite the bumps and the slightly cramped seats, the ride and bus as a whole is actually pretty comfy over the course of the 1.5 hours.

Brigit's Bakery Bus - Tour Bus

What will you see on the bus tour route?

There are two routes of the bus tour you can take with Brigit’s Bakery, a “standard” route and an “evening” route. These are some of the sights you’ll see on each route:

Standard (Day) Route:

The Houses Of Parliament

Buckingham Palace

The Royal Albert Hall

Hyde Park Marble Arch

The London Eye

Trafalgar Square

Evening Route:

Tower Bridge

The Shakespeare Globe

The Tate Modern

Somerset House

St Pauls Cathedral

Unfortunately, you don’t get to get off the bus the visit the actual attractions. However, the bus comes with a recorded guide-commentary (although on some routes they do have an in-person guide) and the staff on the bus are really good at helping point out things and answer any questions.

Like with any bus tour, you’re not guaranteed the best views or picture opportunities 100% of the time, especially when the bus is full. Some attractions might be on the left side when you sit on the right (or vice versa) or another double-decker might pull up next to the bus. In short, you’ll might need to climb over others on the bus (please don’t!) or you’ll have to ask them to take a picture for you.

Where to Book Brigit’s Bakery Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

Hopefully, this has got you looking to plan your next afternoon tea – with a difference. If so, head over to the Brigit’s Bakery Plan Your Tour page for more info and a link to main booking page.

Things To Note

I’ve already touched on a few of the “issues” on the bus (bumpy roads, you might not be able to see everything, dietary requirement costs) but there are a few more bits I think are worth knowing:

  • Access – Old Routemasters aren’t the most accessible to those with mobility problems. While there is a downstairs offering, this a bit of a squeeze and not the most convenient.
  • Toilets – There are no toilets aboard the bus. Make sure you got to the loo before getting on board, the bus doesn’t stop for a loo breaks either.
  • Keep hold of your drinks – Bumps and drinks never end too well and it’s really easy to end up covered in yours or someone else’s drink when on the bus.

Key points when booking:

Cost:

From £45 per person, although for the best views and experience I’d recommend looking at the top deck £55+ options.

You can book via the Brigit’s bakery website or Get Your Guide .

Pick up:

Tours start from a few locations – so be sure to check which is your starting point.

The pick-up points for the bus tours are:

  • Trafalgar Square (8 Northumberland Avenue, WC2N 5BY)
  • London Victoria Coach Station (164 Buckingham Palace Road, SW1W 9TP)
  • Somerset House (Victoria Embankment (A3211), by Somerset House)

Tour departure times:

Departure times for the bus tours differ for each pick-up point. However, on the whole, tours generally depart at 12pm, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 3pm and 5pm most days. There are also additional tour times at 1pm and 3:30pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while evening tours times leave around 6pm.

Hopefully, this review has inspired you to book Brigit’s Bakery bus tour of London and sample their yummy afternoon tea. If you have any questions or would like some further information, please feel free to comment below and I’ll try my best to help.

B Bakery Bus Tour: The Best Afternoon Tea Bus Tour In London

Posted on Last updated: June 7, 2021

After six years of living in London I have started to acquire a taste for British food (some of it anyway), one of these being afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is a very traditional English meal composed of sandwiches and cakes.

Getting ready for our afternoon tea bus tour in London

Getting ready for our afternoon tea bus tour in London

What is afternoon tea?

For those that aren’t acquainted with the glorious British tradition of afternoon tea , I figured I should give you a bit of an introduction about it.

Afternoon tea is a meal first introduced in the 1840s, first as a mini meal between lunch and dinner so that one wouldn’t arrive at dinner too famished. It used to be a social event for high society ladies.

Today it is still considered somewhat a fancy meal and will mostly be consumed on special occasions (unless you have a very traditional English grandma that will make you sandwiches, cakes and tea for when you get home from school).

As the name implies it is usually consumed in the afternoon, however you can have afternoon tea as early as 12pm. It is usually composed of three parts; savoury sandwiches, sweet pastries and scones.

There are lots of great and quirky afternoon teas in London , but the B Bakery one is amongst my favourites.

The route of our afternoon tea bus tour in London

Our afternoon tea bus tour started at Victoria Coach Station and covered all the main landmarks in London.

There is an automated guide voice that gives a short history of all the main attractions, but the staff will also chime in and talk about smaller landmarks that aren’t mentioned in the tape, which makes it a much more personal and interesting experience.

Setting off from Victoria Station we first drove around Kensington, seeing main landmarks such as Hyde Park Corner, Harrods, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the National History Museum and the Royal Albert Hall.

From there we drove on along the side of Hyde Park until we reached Notting Hill, where we then turned right and continued our tour around Hyde Park.

At the North Eastern corner of Hyde Park we drove past Marble Arch, and then back south to Hyde Park Corner.

Once we there we turned left and drove through central London, seeing Piccadilly Circus, the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and we then ended our tour back at Victoria Coach Station.

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour, but this really depends on the traffic (and the traffic in London can be pretty awful, but hey that means you get to enjoy a longer afternoon tea bus tour)!

Savoury treats

The bottom plate was filled with different types of delicious freshly prepared savoury sandwiches.

Some were afternoon tea classics such as the Cucumber & Mint Finger Sandwich, the Watercress & Egg Pretzel and the Ham & Cheese Sandwich With Mayo & Mustard .

The others were more original and I hadn’t seen them served before at afternoon teas, and included things like a Chestnut mushroom quiche, small BLT Burgers and Smoked Salmon Blinis (these were like small pancakes with cream cheese, cucumber and smoked salmon).

These last three were my personal favourites as they were a bit different from what I was normally used to, and especially tasty.

Sweet treats

The top tray of our stacked dish   was covered in an assortment of mini homemade cakes and tarts. My personal favourite were the Chocolate Mini Cupcake and the Lemon Meringue Tart.

When we were about three quarters of the tour in and had gotten through most of our food we were served warm scones with jam and cream to end the afternoon tea.

These are typical unsalted English cakes, to which you then add jam and cream to add flavour. They are traditionally always served with afternoon tea.

As you may imagine, the traditional drink to have at afternoon tea, is in fact tea.

B Bakery offers a number of different teas from Betjaman & Barton, including traditional flavours like English Breakfast and Earl Grey , but also more alternative flavours such as Darjeeling and Rooibos Jardin Rouge .

If like me you’re not much of a tea drinker, don’t worry as they have other coffee and hot chocolate options.

This is a must! My daughter and I did this in March. Food was delicious! We consider this a highlight of our quick get away to London.

Sunday 9th of June 2019

It's a great activity to do with your family for sure! And the perfect way to combine sightseeing around London with a cool English meal like afternoon tea :)

Tuesday 18th of September 2018

That sounds so amazing, and the food looks so tasty. Now I only need to get to London. :) Thanks so much for sharing this.

No problem, glad you enjoyed the post! Haha definitely worth a visit when you make it to London :)

Friday 14th of September 2018

We took this tour last fall 2017. It was so much fun. As we gathered to board the bus, my husband started noticing there were only a few men in the group. He wasn't so happy with me, but the food and many sights we passed turned him around. No doubt we would recommend this tour, especially to someone who has never been to London. Gives you a good over view of where sights are in town.

I agree, it's a fun way to see all the main landmarks in London! And since there's nice food and tea onboard you don't mind getting stuck in traffic either haha!

Tuesday 27th of March 2018

Thank you for sharing such a great information and photograph with us. You are doing great work. Keep it up

This looks so much fun! As a Brit I also love that you have pointed out that afternoon tea is NOT something that the English do every day, which seems to be the stereotype. It's a special occasion for us too - so this looks like a great activity for anyone to do in London!

Vita, vino, e viaggio!

Review of B Bakery London Afternoon Tea Bus Tour

Even after exploring London on a few visits one thing I hadn’t checked off my England bucket list was enjoying afternoon tea. When Rick and I went in June 2018, that was the one thing I wanted to make sure we slotted some time for. This was Rick’s first visit to London so I wanted to make sure he saw all the sights and so when I found a sightseeing tour of London that was combined with a delicious afternoon tea, it was the perfect activity to add to our itinerary.

B Bakery has a physical location, but I was drawn by their variety of themed tea tours, both on a bus or on a Thames cruise! We opted for an afternoon tea tour on their outfitted double decker bus and had a great time. Below is our review of the afternoon tea bus tour with B Bakery.

London Tour

The afternoon tea bus tour is about an hour and half – can be longer if traffic is a bit congested. The seats are comfy and when you’re stuck at a traffic light you’re easily distracted by all the goodies and hot tea in front of you. They have commentary on the bus to describe what you’re seeing but the commentary could be hard to hear at times but was still useful when you picked it up.

Some of the icons you see on this London sightseeing tour:

  • Buckingham Palace
  • Royal Albert Hall
  • Trafalgar Square

Customer service & booking

The online booking process was easy and you pick out your menu, seats, and purchase any add-ons at the time of your booking.

The tour started right on time and the staff was nice. The food was already waiting at your table and then they come around ask what type of tea you want to drink during your tour. Our server asked if we wanted our prosecco first or at the end of the tour and we had it at the beginning. She asked if we were celebrating anything and it was a few days before my birthday, which I told her, and then she served me an extra chocolate cupcake later on the tour, which was a fun surprise!

Food & drink

We booked the traditional tea menu which had a variety of savory sandwiches and sweet treats. Some of the finger sandwiches included a cucumber and mint sandwich, watercress and egg on a pretzel bun, and a ham and cheese with mayo and mustard. There was also a mini quiche and smoked salmon blini. The sandwiches were tasty and flavorful and the serving size was just right for the tour’s duration.

We knew the desserts were going to be amazing (it is hosted by a bakery after all), but the mouthwatering cakes and tarts included a mini chocolate cupcake, a passionfruit, mango, and coconut tart, and a vanilla cream pastry. They also come through during the ride to serve a hot scone with clotted cream and jam. They met our expectations for the desserts as they were delicious and we could have easily eaten another six chocolate cupcakes or those mango tarts.

For teas, they offer a variety of leaves from Betjaman & Barton: Earl Grey, English Breakfast, darjeeling, green, jasmine, rooibos jardin rouge, and peppermint. If tea isn’t your cup of tea, they also serve water, coffees, and hot chocolate. They serve your tea in a to-go souvenir mug, so no worrying about spilling your hot drink on the bus.

We booked their traditional menu but I also appreciated the variety of menus they offer, including nut-free, dairy and gluten-free, vegan, vegan and gluten-free, and a Celiacs-friendly menu.

The starting price for this bus tour of London is £45, though we did spend a bit more as we added a glass of prosecco each and bought dedicated seating at the front of the bus on the top deck – totally worth it, but only works for couples. I thought the price for the tour and all the yummy goodies was appropriate.

Overall, the experience of having tea on the go was really fun and let us kill two birds with one stone when we had limited time in the city. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for afternoon tea in London with a twist!

The other 9 tables are spread across the lower and upper deck. The price of your table varies depending on your table selection and extras such as prosecco etc. Prices begin at £45 per adult.

Note: The VIP tables only seat two people. We sat on the upper deck and highly recommend this. The views we had were fantastic. If you can, request the upper deck at time of booking.

Food and of course, tea, aboard the Brigit’s Bakery Bus tour

The food is amazing. It is beautifully displayed and tastes as good as it looks.

When you arrive on the bus, your table is preset and your first array of cakes and sandwiches are waiting for you. You are presented with a gorgeous spread of sandwiches, mini cupcakes, macrons and pastries.

Your host will offer you a choice of several different types of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, freshly squeezed orange juice, and water.

If you have chosen the prosecco option (I recommend this!) your wine will be poured throughout the tour. During the tour, you will be asked if you want more of everything, so feel free to ask for more beverages and to take some extra cakes!

An assortment of cakes and sandwiches on a table

I highly recommend asking for a hot drink, as you will be provided with your own reusable cup and it is super cute! Pink of course!

Don’t worry, you won’t spill your tea! The cup holders come in handy when you’re turning those tight corners.

Around 45 minutes into the tour the staff will make the rounds with warm, fresh scones, clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Even if you are bursting at the seams, take a scone! They are amazing.

Towards the end of the tour , the B Bakery staff will ask if you would like a box to take home any left of goodies, again take a box!

We didn’t as we were boarding our flight to Australia that night, half way through the flight, I was wishing I had a box of delicious B Bakery snacks.

Here are my favourite travel resources for planning travel like a pro

Flights: To find the best flights I always search on Google Flights or Skyscanner. For even cheaper flights, fly mid week and pack in a carry on!

Accommodation: I always use booking.com (I love their price match and flexible cancellation policies) or Airbnb (if I want a little more space) to book trip. If you prefer hostels, I suggest Hostelworld .

Travel Insurance: After a few hairy moments on my travels, I ALWAYS purchase travel insurance . This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Culture Shock Rating

We have a wide range of tours designed to give you an insight into the destination you're travelling in and there is something for everybody. The culture shock ratings considers the destination visited, transport used, activities undertaken and that "Wow, I'm really not at home now!" factor. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

Physical Rating

Our physical rating gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

These tours have very limited physical activity. Usually climbing in and out of the transport provided, walking through sites, markets etc included in the itinerary.

These tours have a bit of physical activity but nothing that should challenge you too much. This could be climbing on and off public transport through to a walk through the destination you're travelling in, they can include walking only tours or a combination of walking and transport.

These tours involve a bit of physical activity from walking up and down hills in the destination you're travelling in or the surrounding areas. Climbing on and off local transport or riding a bike up to 30 kms along predominantly flat terrain or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.

These Tours will provide you with some solid physical activity. Whether its bike riding, walking, trekking, kayaking or riding on public transport you will need to have a good level of fitness to enjoy this tour.

Be prepared for some serious physical activity. These tours are our most challenging and involve some serious walking, hiking or bike riding. Can involve step climbs by foot or pedal and some challenging public transport options in the destination you are travelling.

Luxury Rating

Some trips are like a stroll on the beach, while others have you trekking alpine passes. Some of you thrive on camping out on the savannah, while others may prefer a hot shower and a comfortable bed in a lodge. Follow the grading systems below to find the right trip for you.

To help you choose the trip that's right for you, we've broken all of our trips down into four service levels. Measuring the comfort level of the accommodation and transport. So whether you're travelling on a budget and want to save money by using public transport, or prefer upgraded accommodation and are happy to pay a little more, then we have a level for you.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.
