maiden will never play on ozzfest. they dont need no ozzy. ozzy needs maiden. maiden dont need no fest or festival to play the ullevi or parc des princes so why they have to need ozzfest? dont compare iron maiden to judas priest, IM have sold nearly thrice the count of albums than JP.

I sure hope Maiden plays Ozzfest, that way they will make it back to the States.

Does anybody know who will be the supporting bands?

forget about ozzfest. and dont forget that maiden is no support band. its more possible for that silly old ozzy to support maiden. maybe maiden need some supporting bands that are "in" in the states like GNR in 1988. but as i know maiden played almost all the venues that ozzfest does every year. no problem.

But Maiden only fill seats in this amphitheatres while almost every Ozzfest show there is sold out (including lawn). Maiden needs to get some media attention in the States and Ozzfest would be great for that. Not to mention loads of new, young fans. I think that's what they'd like to achieve in America. You know, maybe Ozzy won't do Ozzfest next year or will play just for 45 mins or something like that. Anyway, Maiden would be #1 band on the bill then no matter if they play before him or not.

I won't claim to be an expert on this area, but I think Ozzy is more popular than Maiden in the US. And, as mentioned, playing Ozzfest will be great for Maiden, because this is exactly what is needed for people to "open their eyes" for them.

IRON MAIDEN - Eddie Rips Up The World Tour Begins In Prague; Setlist Revealed
May 29, 2005, 18 years ago
hot flashes news iron maiden
Last night UK metal legends IRON MAIDEN kicked off the Eddie Rips Up The World Tour in Prague, Czech Republic. According to a report at Maidenfans.com, the band performed the following: 'Murders In The Rue Morgue', 'Another Life', 'Prowler', 'The Trooper', 'Remember Tomorrow', 'Run To The Hills', 'Charlotte The Harlot', 'Revelations 'Where Eagles Dare', 'Die With Your Boots On', 'Phantom Of The Opera', 'The Number Of The Beast', 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', 'Iron Maiden, 'Running Free', 'Drifter', 'Sanctuary'.
The following is a show synopsis: 'The Ides Of March' is the taped introduction played before the part of 'Murders in the Rue Morgue' starts.
The stage is also a look back to the past. It is obviously related to the first DVD of the History series Maiden is pulling out, hence to the first four albums. A backdrop of Eddie Rips You Up was intensively seen among others. Pyros were used on five songs. Fire was used during 'The Number Of The Beast' and, as rumored, girls looking like devils were running on stage on that same song. Eddie appears behind the set in his 'Iron Maiden' tenure. Then later in the show, a traditional walking giant Eddie makes an apparition. Finally, Bruce dresses up as a trooper during 'The Trooper'! The show runs for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The Goteborg Posten has made a review of the show and gives it 4/5. The translation from Swedish (plus a pic of Bruce) can be found here .
As previously reported, Iron Maiden’s upcoming tour itinerary is as follows:
29 at Mystic Festival in Chorzow, Poland
31 at Graz in Stadthalle, Austria
4 at Rock Am Ring Festival in Nurburgring, Germany
5 at Rock Am Park Festival in Nuremberg, Germany

IRON MAIDEN: Eddie Rips Up The World
According to a posting at the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com , IRON MAIDEN 's upcoming tour will likely be called "Eddie Rips Up The World Tour" , based on the various posters appearing for the already-announced dates. The trek will apparently comprise between 20 and 25 shows. It is unknown if this number represents the scope of the entire tour or only its European leg.
Nothing is known about the opening date of the tour and the continents that will be visited. However, MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson has told the Swedish newspaper Goteborg Posten that the last show in Europe will be the Gothenburg gig at Ullevi on July 9 (this is still in line with flying rumors that MAIDEN might make an appearance on Ozzfest 2005 in the USA).

Eddie Rips Up the World Tour explained
Eddie Rips Up the World Tour was a concert tour by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden , in support of their 2004 DVD, . [1]
The tour saw the band headlining several stadiums and festivals throughout Europe, with the concert at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg , Sweden on 9 July being broadcast live in full on both Swedish national television and radio, [2] and co-headlining with Black Sabbath for the majority of the North American Ozzfest tour.
The final date of the US segment of the tour ( Hyundai Pavilion in San Bernardino, California on 20 August 2005) ended on a sour note. Throughout the tour, vocalist Bruce Dickinson reportedly made several comments about reality television, the widespread use of autocue by current bands and the fact that Iron Maiden had headlined several dates of the tour (due to Ozzy Osbourne 's illness), to which Osbourne's wife, Sharon , took offence. In addition, the PA system was shut off multiple times, cutting off power to Dickinson's microphone and the band's instruments mid-song and members of other bands were recruited to cause further disturbance, such as throwing eggs at Iron Maiden during their performance and by running on-stage with an American flag during " The Trooper ". The effort to ruin the band's show seemed to have been in vain, however, as the band reportedly played even better as their performance was disrupted. [3] Shortly after Iron Maiden's set, Sharon entered the stage to the unanimous boos from the crowd and stated that, while she loves Iron Maiden, Dickinson is a "prick." [4]
Following the show, Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood issued a statement condemning the incident. [5]
Throughout the tour, the stage was decorated with artwork lifted from DVD release, with the runways appearing as alleyway walls and featuring ripped-up posters from that period, such as Live at the Rainbow , and a street sign reading "Acacia Avenue".
At a small number of shows, an inflatable Eddie (identical to that of the first album cover) would appear during "Iron Maiden". However, for the majority of the tour, the giant Eddie from the Give Me Ed... 'Til I'm Dead Tour was used in its place. The walk-on Eddie would also appear during "Drifter", either in a straitjacket (as on the Piece of Mind album cover) or as a replica of the original used on "The Beast on the Road" tour.

The Iron Maiden tour adds Phoenix date in 2024. Here's how to get tickets to the concert
I conic British heavy metal veterans Iron Maiden have added a Phoenix date to the North American leg of the Future Past Tour, playing Footprint Center on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, with Mongolian metal greats the Hu.
No further shows will be announced for North America.
The Hu issued a statement saying, “Iron Maiden is the master of the masters of rock music. They are one of the biggest inspirations to us! The way that they create and perform their music is majestic and we still remember the first time we heard their ‘Trooper’ song and felt the deep energy behind each word.”

Iron Maiden last played Phoenix on the Legacy of the Beast Tour in 2019 .
This will be their 17th performance in the Valley since playing Memorial Coliseum on June 4, 1981, as part of the Killer World Tour, their first time in the U.S.
Concert review: Iron Maiden make you wonder why more artists don't invest in 10-foot mascots
Future Past Tour features songs from 'Senjetsu,' 'Somewhere in Time'
The Future Past Tour, which features songs from Maiden’s latest studio release, “Senjutsu,” and 1986’s seminal “Somewhere in Time” alongside other fan favorites, played to more than 750,000 fans at more than 30 sold-out shows across Europe in the summer of 2023.
They also played Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver alongside their highly praised appearance at California’s Power Trip Festival in October, which had Consequence raving “Iron Maiden set the bar high at Power Trip” and The Desert Sun saying they “delivered a hard-hitting performance to open the festival on a high note."
The tour features one of the most spectacular stage productions of Maiden’s career.
