The first three celebrities who will be joining 2023’s hotly-anticipated Strictly Come Dancing Live UK arena tour are announced today: Actor Will Mellor ( Broadchurch , Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps ); Paralympic swimming champion and broadcaster Ellie Simmonds ; and Kiss FM radio host, TV presenter and DJ Tyler West will be foxtrotting their way across the country for 31 sparkle-filled shows kicking off in January.

They will be joined on tour by Strictly TV judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke, who is appearing on the arena tour for the first time.  The sensational Janette Manrara will host. Further casting announcements will be made soon.

The host with the most, Janette Manrara has her cue cards at the ready to guide audiences through a feast of breathtaking dance routines and incredible live music, performed by a cast of celebrities and their professional dance partners, together with the Strictly Live Band.

A spectacular line-up of not just one, not two, but 10 of the world’s best professional dancers will be coming to Birmingham Hippodrome for the 2023 official Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals UK Tour .

This exhilarating show will showcase the exceptional talent of TV’s hugely popular professional dancers, performed within the wonderful world of the BBC show, with its stunning costumes and sparkling sets.

Audiences will enjoy world-class dance, stunning choreography and glamorous costumes, live and up close from 10 talented Strictly Professionals: Dianne Buswell ; Vito Coppola ; Carlos Gu ; Karen Hauer ; Neil Jones ; Nikita Kuzmin ; Gorka Marquez ; Luba Mushtuk ; Jowita Przystal ; and Nancy Xu .

'Keep dancing!': Everything to know about Strictly live tour shows in Birmingham

Strictly Come Dancing is going on tour with some of this year’s contestants and their professional partners taking to the dancefloor across the UK, including in Birmingham.

If you’ve got your tickets and are ready to see the glitz and glam right before your eyes at the city’s Utilita Arena.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the event.

When is the Strictly tour coming to Birmingham?

Strictly Come Dancing The Live Tour will be available to see in Birmingham from Friday, January 19 to Sunday, January 21.

Tickets are available for all performances in Birmingham and you can buy them via the Utilita Arena website .

What time do doors open for the Birmingham shows?

Friday, January 19:

External doors open at 6pm while the Arena Bowl doors open at 6.30pm.

The show is scheduled to start at 7.10pm.

Saturday, January 20 (matinee):

External doors are due to open at 1pm while the Arena Bowl doors open at 1.30pm.

The show will start at 2.30pm.

Saturday, January 20 (evening):

Guests can expect the external doors to open from 6pm while Arena Bowl doors will open at 6.30pm.

The show will start at 7.30pm.

Sunday, January 21 (matinee):

External doors will open at 12pm for this show with Arena Bowl doors opening 30 minutes later at 12.30pm.

The show will start at 1.30pm.

Sunday, January 21 (evening):

External doors will be open from 5pm while Arena Bowl doors will open at 5.30pm.

The show will start at 6.30pm and it’s important to note that timings for all shows could change.

What is the bag policy for Utilita Arena?

All bags will be searched as people enter the venue and to help speed things up, the arena says it would prefer visitors to arrive without bags.

But, if you need to bring a bag, this is the criteria:

• Bags must be no bigger than A4 size (21cm x 30cm x 19cm)
• Bags must have no more than two compartments
• Rucksacks are not allowed into the venue

Are there any car parks at Utilita Arena?

There are a few options for parking at Utilita Arena – North, South and West.

West car park is only available for those who pre-book and blue badge parking spaces can be found in each of the car parks.

Strictly Come Dancing Live announces further celebrities joining the 2023 UK arena tour

Two more celebrities have been announced to join the scintillating line-up for next year’s hotly-anticipated Strictly Come Dancing Live UK Tour: singer, actor and presenter Molly Rainford and wildlife cameraman and Countryfile presenter Hamza Yassin.

They will join previously announced Will Mellor, Ellie Simmonds and Tyler West for 32 sparkle-filled shows kicking off in January.

Molly Rainford said: “I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Strictly Live Tour, performing for the huge arena crowds across the UK is going to be an incredible experience. I’m really looking forward to continuing my amazing Strictly journey and getting out on the road to meet all the fans."

Hamza Yassin said: “Strictly has changed my life in ways I never imagined, so to be doing the tour on top of it all is a dream come true! I’ve heard the tour audiences are unparalleled, so I’ll be relishing the atmosphere every night, and I’m so excited to share that experience with my fellow dancers – not to mention the judges.”

The celebrities and professionals will be joined on the road by Strictly TV judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke – who is part of the tour for the first time – with the sensational Janette Manrara as host.

Opening at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on 20 January, the tour will then waltz around the UK to some of the biggest entertainment venues: Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, Leeds’ First Direct Arena, the AO Arena Manchester, Sheffield’s Utilita Arena, Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, London’s O2 Arena, the SSE Arena Belfast, before culminating at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on 12 February.

The Strictly Live Tour showcases all the breathtaking choreography, stunningly sparkly costumes and fantastic live music synonymous with BBC One’s long-running and hugely loved Strictly Come Dancing TV show – which is currently on our screens, with the final due to take place on 17 December.

The 2023 tour will be directed once again by the A-MAZ-ING Strictly TV Judge Craig Revel Horwood. The show will feature many of the celebrities and professional dancers from the current series of the multi-award-winning BBC One show, together with the Strictly Live Band - a great way to celebrate the 20th series of this entertainment phenomenon.

Audiences around the UK can experience everything they love about the TV show live on stage, getting the chance to not only watch the spectacular stars in action as they perform roof-raising routines, but also the power to decide who wins the Gliderball Trophy at the end of each show. The tour judges will provide their invaluable wisdom, advice and scores at each performance, but the audience vote via text for their favourite couple, and it is ultimately their votes which decide who wins!

Each performance of the tour will host a British Sign Language interpreter, who will be displayed on two very large screens either side of the stage so that attendees can book tickets and sit almost anywhere in the arena to enjoy the experience with family and friends.

Giovanni Pernice has said "don't mind me" as he signed off following the end of his live tour. The BBC pro dancer, who won Strictly Come Dancing with Rose Ayling Ellis back in 2021, spoke out on Instagram via his Grid.

"Long video ALERT," Gio typed. "Watch this video only if you have a few minutes to spare. Don’t mind me, I’m just a bloke from Sicily, taking in that I have managed to sell out The London Palladium for another year with my OWN SOLO SHOW…

"What a surreal night and amazing atmosphere. Thank you to every person who came along and made this such a special night. I love you all, G." Giovanni was supported by fans in the replies as they rushed to support the Italian.
