Rugby Tours to South Africa from MSG

Rugby tours to south africa.

Internationally agreed as the toughest place to gain a victory, our rugby tours to South Africa guarantees redolent memories for life in a land that is second only to New Zealand for 100% rugby dedication. Twice winners of the rugby World Cup in 1995 and 2007, local South African competition is a perfect challenge for your team to play against.

Seemingly built of granite, players here provide an unrivalled physical test on near consistent hard terrain when playing in the northern Gauteng region. Thank you to all at Edwin Doran sport tours for making the tour to South Africa so enjoyable. Our tour was a huge success both on and off the field. The fixtures were perfect and I again thank you for all your help and professionalism.

Our most popular rugby tour destination combines a real love for the sport with rich wildlife and epic scenery.

Edwin Doran Sports Tours was the first company to arrange sports tours to South Africa after the fall of apartheid. Since 1992, we’ve cultivated vast on-the-ground knowledge and extensive contacts that we use to help players really get under the skin of this vibrant country. From visiting the local charities that we support to exploring the natural wonders of the Highveld and finding perfectly matched competition, our unrivalled networks mean nobody does South African rugby tours better.

The country’s passion for rugby is legendary. In 1995, the newly democratic South Africa hosted the Rugby World Cup. The Springboks beat the All Blacks in the final, bringing together a once-divided nation. This momentous achievement now remembered as one of the greatest moments in South Africa’s sporting history, was a watershed moment in the post-apartheid nation-building process.

Are you interested in this Tour?

General faqs, it’s my first time organising a trip, what should i do.

Please pick up the phone and give us a call. We have years of experience organising trips abroad and we’ll be happy to run you through the do’s and don'ts of organising a trip away. If you want further professional assistance, then we can put you in touch with a Snowsport England qualified instructor, you can also attend a SCO (Snowsport Course Organiser) day.

What is your free adult place ratio? What happens if I need to bring more adults?

The basic ratio is 1:10 for flight tours and 1:8 for coach trips. However, if your group requires a different ratio, we will work with you to ensure that you get what you need. This may include extra free places of calculating a separate tour price for any paying passengers.

What happens if people want to add on or drop out?

Pupils will drop in and out of the trip. It happens. For those groups travelling by coach, we won’t ask for pupil details until very close to departure so pupils can swap in and out and the financial element of this can be organised internally. For those travelling by air, low cost airlines ask for names on booking so any change of passenger is likely to require a name-change fee which we would add to the final balance.

If pupils continue to add on, then this is fine subject to availability with the hotel and transport companies. The flight price may be higher if pupils add on months after the original booking and we will tell you what the cost is before you commit.

If pupils drop out, then unfortunately some fixed costs such as coach hire or instructors will be spread over a lower number and so your price may have to increase. However, this will never happen without a full discussion and we will work with you to limit any impact

How long before the trip should I start planning?

There’s no right answer to this although we would recommend first time trip organisers look 12-18 months ahead whilst experienced trip organisers may want 9 months plus if heading to a new resort. We do want all trips to be as accessible as possible and whilst financial climates ebb and flo, giving students and parents a long lead in time will help them plan ahead and will stop you having to chase payments.

Can you provide copies of audits and risk assessments?

Yes, please contact us directly for further information on specific requests

The Vodacom Bulls and DHL Stormers will fly the South African flag in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship quarter-finals against Benetton and the Glasgow Warriors respectively on Saturday, with semi-final berths be at stake as the competition reaches the knock-out stages.

Match official appointments for the next few days have been made with the Vodacom United Rugby Championship reaching the quarter-final stages.

Fixtures Confirmed For Ireland’s Summer Tour To South Africa

8th December 2023 15:30

Ireland's Summer Tour To South Africa

Ireland will take on World champions South Africa in a two-match tour next summer, with the fixtures confirmed today by the South African Rugby Union. It will mark the Springboks’ return to action for the first time since their triumph in Paris.

The first Test is scheduled for Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Saturday, July 6, with the second Test a week later at Hollywoodbets Kings Park in Durban as Ireland make their first trip to South Africa in eight years.

The Springboks won that 2016 series, 2-1. The opening Test marked Ireland’s first ever victory over the Springboks on South African soil

Since then, Ireland have won all three meetings between the teams and five of the last seven – most recently the seismic 13-8 success in France in the pool stages of the Rugby World Cup.

Tickets will go on sale in the New Year from the South Africa Rugby Union ticket outlets.

All you need to know about the Springboks' victory parade

All you need to know about the Springboks' victory parade

SA Rugby has revealed the details about the Springboks' upcoming trophy tour set to hit the biggest cities in South Africa.

A four-day victory parade has been meticulously planned to allow the World Cup-winning Boks to show off the trophy they so brilliantly won in France.

SA Rugby President Mark Alexander said the tour's purpose was to reach as many people as possible within the limited timeframe before the squad goes their separate ways.

The five largest population centres in the country - Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Soweto, and Pretoria - have been given priority to provide the maximum number of people with the opportunity to welcome the team.

The significance of the Eastern Cape in the history, development, and future of black rugby was acknowledged, leading to a visit to Buffalo City. Alexander said that another significant Springbok event is planned for Nelson Mandela Bay in 2024, although specific details are yet to be confirmed.

"The players' club commitments necessitate their swift return or immediate rehabilitation after 21 weeks of intense competition since the Rugby Championship began," he said.

"Satellite tours to other population centres in the Free State, North West, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and Northern Cape, among other places, are in the planning stages, with scheduling contingent on players' club commitments.

"While it was always challenging to visit every town and city due to time constraints, we are confident that our choices and ongoing planning will enable us to visit all major population centres in every province over time. With the Cup in our possession for another four years, there's ample opportunity for that."

Alexander also passed on the Springboks' heartfelt gratitude to all South Africans for the overwhelming support and passion showered upon the team throughout their triumphant Rugby World Cup journey.

"The Springboks are on their way back to South Africa, but on their behalf and on behalf of the entire South African rugby community, I want to express our profound gratitude and humility in the face of the immense support the team has received," he said.

"The TikToks, YouTube videos, and Facebook posts of fans reacting to the Bok victories played a significant role in motivating the team to give their all as the clock ticked down to the final whistle on Saturday night."

Springbok victory parade details

The Boks are set to arrive at Oliver Tambo International Airport on Tuesday morning at 11am and will no doubt receive a heroic welcome there.

The Trophy Tour then kicks off this Thursday in Johannesburg, Soweto, and Pretoria, before moving to Cape Town on Friday and Durban on Saturday and wrapping up in East London on Sunday.

Each convoy will consist of between three and six busses, two sponsor vehicles, a Supersport outside broadcasting unit, and an ambulance.

Ted & Kylie

We had an amazing time with Dawid. We had an encounter with elephants surrounding our car. It was magnificent. Thank you Dawid for hosting us in South Africa and showing us the beauty of Africa

Alisa Jeffrey

Dawid made my first experience an amazing introduction. He was incredibly responsive to emails and texts before my arrival. Picked me up at the airport for the short drive to their house. And after a quick tour of the apartment, I found myself plied with food, drink and conversation. Dawid made me feel welcomed and immediately comfortable. I really clicked with him and by the time I left at the end of the week, we were close friends and hope to see each other again soon.

Sven & Michael

It was so nice to be the guests from Dawid. He is so friendly and helpful. We had very interesting and funny chats and they cooked a special South African dish for us. Thanks a lot and we hope we will see each other soon in Berlin.

Raja & Mitali Datta

We love Dawid & Brom Africa. Hesitation was there before reaching Johannesburg but only you made it possible to see Big 5 in Kruger National Park and with you for 5 days was a bonus. Thank you for the best African experience

Important Information

What You Need To Know

south african rugby tours

At Brom Africa Tours, we are confident that you have selected one of the best adventure tour companies in Africa, and we are committed to proving it. Our tours have been enjoyed by countless individuals from across the globe. By bringing a positive attitude, an open mind, and proper preparation, you can rest assured that your adventure holiday will be an unforgettable experience.

It’s important to keep in mind that you are in Africa, and therefore, standards and services should not be compared to those of first-world countries. You came here to escape from all that and to experience Africa as it truly is. As such, the unexpected is included in your tour, free of charge!

We aim to provide you with as much information about our tours as possible. However, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly if you require additional details about any specific aspect of our services.

To ensure that you comply with the visa requirements for your adventure tour, it’s crucial to note that these regulations vary depending on your nationality. We recommend that you contact the relevant embassies or visa service agencies at least four weeks before departing for your trip to reconfirm the visa requirements. Please be aware that visas are the responsibility of the traveler, and Brom Africa Tours cannot be held liable for any denial of entry due to the lack of proper documentation.

All travelers are required to possess a valid onward or return air ticket, or proof of alternative transportation that enables them to depart the country where the adventure tour ends. Alternatively, you must have sufficient funds (such as a credit card) that allow you to purchase an air ticket to exit the country. If the tour involves re-entry into a country, it’s essential to obtain a multiple-entry visa that permits you to return.

It’s essential to note that visa regulations in Africa are subject to change. As such, we recommend that you contact the embassies of the countries you plan to visit during your Brom Africa Tours for updated information. Please note that arranging visas is not our area of expertise, and as a result, we may not always have the latest information on changing regulations.

For your travel convenience, it’s important to ensure that your passport contains enough pages for all required visas and at least two blank pages for each country you plan to visit. We advise that you retrieve your passport from the hotel or backpackers’ safe the night before departure. Additionally, it’s advisable to leave a copy at home or with a trusted friend. You may also consider taking a photo of your passport and its contents and emailing it to yourself. Please note that upon entry to South Africa, at least two clear pages must be available in your passport. Keep this in mind if you plan to fly back from South Africa after completing an adventure tour across multiple African countries.

Please ensure that your passport remains valid for at least six months after your scheduled departure date from Africa.

It is solely your responsibility to ensure that your passport, visas, vaccination certificates, and other travel documents are up-to-date and that you cover all related expenses. We do not recommend using multiple passports to avoid visa payments during your travels, as this may cause complications. For example, when entering Namibia, the immigration official needs to see the South African exit stamp, which must be in the same passport to grant entry.
