Porno For Pyros Announce First Tour in 25 Years

Porno For Pyros are celebrating their 30th anniversary in the fall by hitting the road for the first time since 1998. The Horns, Thorns EL Halos tour kicks off October 8 in Wheatland, California, and wraps up November 20 in Austin, Texas. Ticket pre-sales begin Wednesday, July 12.

Perry Farrell formed Porno For Pyros in 1992, shortly after Jane’s Addiction called it quits, with Jane’s drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble. Their 1993 single “Pets” hit #1 on the Modern Rock chart, and the video went into heavy rotations on MTV, but they were hobbled by LeNoble’s defection after the recording of their second album, Good God’s Urge, and DiStefano’s battle with testicular cancer.

JANE'S ADDICTION Announces March 2023 U.S. Tour Dates

JANE'S ADDICTION has announced a series of West Coast dates leading up to the band's participation in the Lollapalooza festivals in South America.

The Perry Farrell -fronted outfit, which completed a fall 2022 U.S. tour with SMASHING PUMPKINS , will play the following shows in March:

March 05 - Bakersfield, CA - Mechanics Bank Theater March 07 - Tucson, AZ - Rialto Theatre March 09 - Los Angeles, CA - The Hollywood Palladium March 11 - Las Vegas, NV - The Chelsea Theatre at The Cosmopolitan March 12 - Reno, NV - Grand Sierra Resort March 18 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Lollapalooza Argentina March 19 - Santiago, Chile - Lollapalooza Chile March 25 - São Paulo, Brazil - Lollapalooza Brazil

JANE'S ADDICTION guitarist Dave Navarro sat out the fall 2022 tour due to his battle with long COVID. He was replaced at the shows by QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE 's Troy Van Leeuwen .

"Spirit On Fire" marked the first JANE'S ADDICTION tour in more than a decade to feature returning original bassist Eric Avery . Prior to the latest trek, Avery last played with the band for a short stint in the 2000s before departing again in 2010.

Last fall, Farrell told Alternative Press that it wasn't easy finding a temporary replacement for Navarro . "At first, there was a lot of weight on my shoulders," he said. "This was our return tour right after COVID, and we didn't have Dave . JANE'S is a unique band, and you can't just grab any guitar player and they'll pick it up. That's Dave Navarro we're talking about — those are big shoes to fill."

Even though JANE'S ADDICTION was forced to cancel several shows on the tour after Farrell sustained an injury, he still described it "one of the best tours of my life. I just love at the end of the show seeing how many happy people there were," he told Alternative Press . "We got to them, and that's the best feeling in the world."

Perry Farrell To Tour Porno For Pyros For First Time In 25 Years

Perry Farrell is taking Porno For Pyros back on the road for the first time in 25 years.

When Perry spoke to Noise11 earlier in 2023 he confirmed there is new music for both Porno for Pyros and Jane’s Addiction on the way and at the time he said Jane’s was the priority. It appears that has now been reversed. The upcoming North American tour will mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Pornos album released on 27 April, 1993.

Porno For Pyros only released two albums. The second ‘Good God’s Urge’ came out on 28 May, 1996.

21 dates have been announced by Live Nation starting 8 October 2023 in California.

I had seen Perry Farrell play with Jane's Addiction many times over the years as well as with Porno for Pyros, so when the chance came to see him perform alone, well, not alone of course he had a band, but not Jane's or Porno, I was stupid excited! More than anything I was curious what it would be like? Would it be a different Perry than I was used to seeing with the other two bands, or would it be pretty much the same, just with different band members. Well the tickets finally went on sale and some friends of mine and I bought our tickets.

He was playing in a local club, medium sized and I was really excited about that, because I had always only seen him play in larger stadiums etc... And was happy to have a more close up intimate experience!

We arrived at the club and worked our way into the middle of the crowd. It was very crowded, probably around 7000, which made the club almost overflowing with people. For this show, he probably should of been in a larger venue, but I was happy he wasn't.

The lights went dim and the energy went high! Perry came out on stage with a bottle of red wine in his hand, very typical Perry and talked about all sorts of crazy things for a few minutes and then the first song started!

His new material was great and I had heard most of it, and they performed it well, but I have to say that it wasn't the same as with Jane's and Porno, it was a bit more mellow and deep. Not that, that's a bad thing, but on the album the songs had a bit more edge to them and in the live performance they were deep.

It was a great show over all, Perry is one amazing entertainer on stage, and knows how to be weird, and weird is good!

Jane’s Addiction have mapped out a brief west coast tour for March, in advance of their performances at three Lollapalooza festivals in South America.

The alt-rock legends will hit the road beginning March 4th in Bakersfield, California, and wrap up the five-show stint with a March 12th gig in Reno, Nevada. Afterward, they’ll play Lollapalooza Argentina (March 18th), Lollapalooza Chile (March 19th), and Lollapalooza Brazil (March 25th).

Tickets for the US shows go on sale to the general public beginning Friday (January 20th) via Ticketmaster, with a presale beginning Thursday (January 19th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code SOUND . Fans can also pick up tickets via StubHub .

Last year, Jane’s Addiction welcomed back original bassist Eric Avery for their tour with the Smashing Pumpkins. However, guitarist Dave Navarro ’s ongoing battle with long COVID kept him off the road, thus preventing a reunion of the band’s classic lineup. Queens of the Stone Age’s Troy Van Leeuwen filled in on guitar for that tour, and as of now, it is unclear whether Navarro will be back for the March shows.

JANE'S ADDICTION announce first tour with original lineup in 14 years

Jane's Addiction just played their first show with their original lineup in 14 years; now, the alt-rock icons —Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Eric Avery and Stephen Perkins — have announced their first tour together in just as long, a late summer/early fall trek across North America.

Love and Rockets — the post-punk band featuring Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins of goth royalty Bauhaus — will be reuniting once again to open all dates. They last regrouped in 2023 for the band's first shows in 15 years.

The just-announced tour is set to kick off August 9th in Las Vegas and wrap up September 29th at St Louis' Evolution Festival. All dates are listed below. Tickets for all non-festival date go on sale Friday, May 31st at 10 a.m. local time.

Send out the Bat Signal, because Oz Cobb is terrorizing Gotham City once again.

Warner Bros. Discovery has released a new trailer for “ The Penguin ,” the spinoff series focusing on  Colin Farrell ’s titular gangster from DC’s “ The Batman .”

Set immediately after the events of the 2022 blockbuster film, the eight-episode series charts the character once known as Oswald Cobblepot and his rise to power in the Gotham underworld to become one of the most notorious villains in the “Batman” universe.

Lauren LeFranc (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”) serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner on “The Penguin,” while “The Batman” writer-director Matt Reeves executive produces through his production company 6th & Idaho. Farrell, Dylan Clark, Daniel Pipski and Bill Carraro are also executive producers, with Ravi Crohn co-executive producing. Executive producer Craig Zobel (“Mare of Easttown”) directed the first three episodes. Warner Bros. Television is the studio.

Production began in March 2023, but it was halted in June due to the Hollywood strikes,  with shooting resuming  the week after Thanksgiving.

A sequel to “The Batman,” titled “The Batman: Part II,” was delayed by a year and will now release in theaters on Oct. 2, 2026.

Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed

Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.

The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.

Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.

Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."

When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."

Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.

"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."
