Port of Miami Cruise Parking (Where to Park): Prices, Profiles, & Map

As the busiest cruise port in the world, Miami sees its fair share of passengers driving in for their vacation. Of course, that means that they need a place to park.

Parking garage at the Port of Miami.

Located on Dodge Island, which is just across the bridge from downtown Miami, the cruise terminals are in a busy area of town where parking space is at a premium. Still, if you need to park for your cruise, then you’ll have no problem finding a spot. The port itself offers convenient parking right at the ship, but it comes at a steep price.

That’s why it pays to know your options. Prices vary considerably, based mainly on convenience to the port.

As a rule of thumb, the closer you park to the ship, the more costly it will be. The most expensive parking is located right at the port but is also the easiest to use. Luckily, there are other options if you are a bargain hunter.

(Note: If you are planning to spend a night in the area, check out our page of Port of Miami hotels with cruise parking   or Miami hotels with port shuttles . These hotels can help you save money on parking or transportation to the port.)

In This Article...

Miami Cruise Parking Lot Costs

Prices for parking can vary widely. The Port of Miami charges $22 per day ($25-$28 if sailing Royal Caribbean), while independent lots typically charge between $11-12 per day. One thing to keep in mind is that taxes and fees at independent lots can add several dollars each day to your cost.

Note: There are a number of parking lots that show up on some third-party websites, but are difficult to find reliable information about. We’ve left those options off our list.

Official Port of Miami Parking Lots (Recommended)

Garage G at Port of Miami

While it is the priciest option, we recommend that cruise passengers simply park at the official port lots. Not only is it the most convenient with the ability to park right at the ship, but it is also the most reliable option we’ve found. There is a garage located right near each cruise terminal.

For the convenience of parking here, be prepared to pay the price. Overnight parking for most terminals is $22 per night.

Parking is available for oversized vehicles, but will cost extra if taking up more than one space and is in only one lot, across from Terminal E (which may or may not be convenient to your ship). Credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Discover, as well as cash and traveler’s checks are accepted. However, debit cards are not.

Parking comes in both covered (parking garage) and uncovered lots. The good news is that there are several options for where to park, so you can always find a lot that’s near your cruise ship. Simply follow the signs to your ship as you arrive at the port and you’ll find the parking lot or garage nearby.

Here’s a map with each lot and garage labeled:

Want to save some money? Disabled passengers in vehicles with specialized equipment (such as lifts or foot/hand controls) and those with Florida disabled veteran license plates can park for free. Click here for more details , or you can call the port at 305-347-4800.

  • Cost: $22 per day
  • Distance: At terminal
  • Website: https://www.miamidade.gov/portmiami/parking-information.asp

Port of Miami Royal Caribbean Parking Garage

Sailing on Royal Caribbean from Miami? Things are slightly different in that the parking at Terminal A (Royal Caribbean’s terminal) is run separate from the rest of the port parking.

Located at the far east end of the port, Terminal A features a garage for guests. Unlike the rest of the garages, however, reservations are required . If you don’t have a reservation before you arrive, then you will need to park at Terminal J, across the entire port from Terminal A (a shuttle is provided).

Rates here run a hefty $35 per night. That’s nearly 60% more than the rest of the port. If you don’t mind walking, you could theoretically park in another garage and then walk over to the Royal Caribbean terminal.

  • Cost: $35 per day
  • Website: https://www.royalmiamiparking.com/

Independent Parking Lots

In addition to the port, there are several options from independent parking lots in the area.

Safe Cruise Parking Safe Cruise Parking offers a good deal, covered garage parking, and 24/7 security. That’s a pretty compelling offer for a rate that’s considerably less than the cruise parking lots at the port.

Prices are around $11.50 per day for parking, but keep in mind you are charged for both the day you arrive and the day you leave . So if you arrive on a Saturday for a 7-day cruise and then leave the next Saturday, you’ll be charged for eight days. As well, taxes and fees increase the cost. For a week-long cruise, expect to pay about $100 for parking. Even with taxes and fees, that’s about half the rate of the Port of Miami.

The lot is located about 1.5 miles driving from the cruise terminals. A shuttle runs regularly to the Miami port and is free. Reservations are available on their website, which we recommend to ensure you have a spot when you arrive.

  • Cost: ~$14.30 per day (including taxes & fees)
  • Distance: 1.5 miles (free shuttle provided) | 189 NE 2nd St.
  • Website: https://www.safecruiseparking.com

Premier Cruise Parking If you want to park in a garage where your car is protected from the searing Miami sun, then look into this company. Similar to Safe Cruise Parking above, this lot is actually a garage offering multiple levels of covered parking.

The garage (the MET3 parking garage in downtown Miami) is located about a mile from the port and offers a free shuttle to and from the cruise terminal. Rates run $9.95 per day. But with taxes and fees (plus the eight days of parking) you can expect to pay about $90 in total for parking on a one-week cruise — or roughly $12.90 per day for a 7-day cruise. Garage clearance is just 7 feet if you drive a tall vehicle.

  • Cost: ~$12.90 per day (including taxes & fees)
  • Distance: 1.5 miles (free shuttle provided) | 250 SE 3rd Ave.
  • Website:  http://premiercruiseparking.com/

WeParkIn Miami With parking in a garage just across the causeway from the port, this spot is among the closest you’ll find. The garage is located in downtown Miami and only minutes away from the ships.

During our search we found prices of $10 per day (keep in mind you have to pay for the day you arrive and the day you leave). With taxes and fees, the price ends up being around $91 per day for a week-long cruise cruise or about $13 per day. That’s about 60% the cost of parking at the cruise terminal. In addition, the parking lot website says they have a shuttle service to get you back and forth from PortMiami.

  • Cost: ~$13.00 per day (includes taxes & fees)
  • Distance: 1.5 miles | 850 NE 2nd Ave

Miami Hotels With Cruise Parking (Recommended)

If you are staying in the Miami area in a hotel, then you may be able to save on your parking. Many hotels cater to cruisers with special daily parking rates or parking packages, which allow you to leave your car while you sail.

Hotels include DoubleTree, Comfort Suites, Hampton Inn, and others near the port.

To be sure, if you don’t plan to stay in a hotel before your trip already, it’s not worth it to book a room just to get the parking. But if you already want to stay nearby before your cruise, then a hotel with a parking package can save you money over parking at the port.

For example, a hotel might be $150 a night normally, but charge $180 for the park and cruise package that lets you leave your car for a week. The extra package cost is lower than the price of parking at the Port of Miami, which charges $22 per day.

Click this link to see our full list of Miami hotels with cruise parking and details on their packages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which parking lot should I use? While it is more expensive, we would suggest the parking at the Port of Miami . Navigating Miami can be difficult, so it’s nice to be able to park right at your ship and simply walk across a street to board. It’s also convenient in that you don’t have to pre-book or reserve anything. You simply arrive at the port on cruise day and park.

Can I park for free anywhere during my cruise? It be great to be able to park for free, but it’s only available in a few situations. First, if you are disabled and your automobile has modifications (such as a ramp), then you are able to park for free at the Port of Miami. As well, those with Florida disabled veteran license plates can also get free parking. You can call the port at 305-347-4800 for more details.

If you don’t meet one of those two groups, don’t despair. You can park for free (or a discount) at a number of hotels in the area in exchange for a night’s stay. These hotels offer parking as a perk to attract cruise passengers. See a list of Miami hotels with cruise parking here .

What time should I arrive if I am parking? If you plan to park at the port, we’d suggest arriving 30 minutes before you plan to board. So if you want to board the ship at noon, arrive at 11:30. This will offer plenty of time to park, find your way to the ship and get checked in.

If you plan to park at an off-site parking lot, then we’d up that time to an hour before you board. This gives you plenty of time to park and then shuttle to the cruise ship.

Do I need to reserve a parking spot before I arrive? If you plan to park at the port, you don’t need to reserve any sort of parking unless parking at the Royal Caribbean terminal. There are spots available and you simply pay when you arrive. For other lots, you’ll want to reserve ahead of time to ensure that they have space available.

Would you pay for the parking as you enter the garage or at the end of your cruise when eiting the garage?

Where is the best place to park when traveling on MSC October 2023? Want a covered and secure lot.

Just at the port. There are garages near each terminal.

We are driving in the night before. It is a 12 hour drive, so I expect to arrive in Miami sometime between 6a-9a. Can we get in the garage at port of miami at that time? Will there be parking available since it is before the cruise before us disembarks?

Not sure on that, but I’d suggest going somewhere, relaxing, sightseeing, or having breakfast. The port will be very busy with everyone trying to get off the ship.

Parking for NCL Terminal B? Cruising in December 2023. Also, one member is handicapped no equipment only a walker. Where do we park? The map is vague. Would like to have the ability to make a reservation.

There’s a parking garage adjacent to the terminal. Just head to the terminal and you’ll see the signs for garage parking.

Is the parking per day or per night? For the period from May 5th to May 8th, will I be charged for 3 or 4 days?

Do you know the height for Terminal F for Carnival. Just wanting to know as I have a truck and wanting to make sure I have enough clearance.

I do not know the exact height, but they are standard parking garages. If you can usually park in a garage, then you should be fine. If not, then there is oversized parking available.

Hi, just checking if this article still up to date and if in Feb 2023 I still can go and find a parking spot at the port. I’m concerned to be full, I hate to leave things like this for the last minute and don’t have reservations. I look at the satellite picture in google maps and dont even see big parking lots at the port, just a lot containers and construction.

Yes, it’s still valid. Miami used parking garages instead of big lots, that’s why Google Maps doesn’t show a lot of big parking lots.

Thanks for the quick response Tanner. I assume those garages are walking distance from the cruises right? Im taking an MSC for the first time and for what I’ve found is in the terminal AA/AAA, so because Royal is on A I assume will be close by and I have to take the Royal Caribbean garage?

AA/AAA is under construction. To my knowledge it’s not open yet. When it is, it will have its own parking.

I have 20 ft long 9 1/2 high campervan. Can I find a spot near Norwegian termi? 11 day cruise.

Roadtrekker

Not sure exactly where the oversized parking is, but it shouldn’t be too far. I know they ask you to park in a surface lot instead of garage.

The Royal Caribbean garage is more expensive than the other port garages. Can I park at another port garage and walk to the RC dock?

I supposed you could, although not sure if they check your boarding pass to ensure you’re in the right garage. Also, the RC terminal is at the very far end of the port, so there is some walking.

Do the lots at the cruise terminal fill up? I fear planning on parking here and no spaces available.

No, you don’t have to worry about that. Even if the lot for that specific terminal did fill up, you would just be redirected to another nearby lot. Plenty of space.

Do I need a reservation to park my car at the terminal A garage? If so, how do I make the reservation?

Thank you very much,

Bob Weinstein

No, you can just drive up the day of the cruise.

Wonder how difficult traffic will be on Saturday before the Super Bowl getting to and into the port of Miami. I know there is a week long event at Bayfront park. How much travel margin should we leave? How much extra time to allow?

We actually went through there on Friday before the Super Bowl. Wasn’t bad at all!

Is this parking right by royal carribean ship?

Yes, if you use the port parking.

Does Miami airport offer shuttle to the port? Also, would economy parking at the airport be cheaper that port parking?

The airport doesn’t have a shuttle to the port, but you can Uber/Lyft. You could use airport parking, and it would likely be cheaper. Just remember to add in the cost and time of transportation between your car and the port.

I received a free cruise and a hotel room for the night before and a shuttle to the cruise port, but they don’t provide parking. The parking at the hotel is very expensive. Where would you recommend I park so that I don’t have to move the car the morning of the cruise and will get a shuttle ride back to my car? I will get a taxi or uber to the hotel from the parking lot.

If it were us, we would simply park at the Port of Miami. It’s more expensive than other lots, but really convenient. If you want to avoid some of the traffic, wait until later in the day to get to the ship.

How would i know if there is parking space available for me to park my car if there is no reservation?

There is ample parking at the port. You don’t have to worry about there being enough space.

Does anyone know if a Dogde Grand Caravan could be considered as a “oversize vehicles”? I am asking because I am looking to Premier Cruise Parking due to the proximity and price and I was just not sure about it

That won’t be oversized. Oversized are things like RVs.

As of today August 27, 2019 Safe Cruise is up to 80 for a week long cruise and that is before ay taxes and fees.

Thanks for the update. Price can and will vary with lots.

What about disabled person to parking is free?

If you meet certain requirements, such as having modifications to the car such as a lift ramp, then you can park for free. See more here: https://cruzely.com/free-disabled-parking-for-florida-cruises/

Other than disabled Florida veterans, Does U.S veterans get a discount?

Glen — we don’t see anything about that. It’s still worth a shot to ask when you arrive.

Disabled customers pay the same rates?

Assuming you meet the requirements, parking at Florida ports is free for disabled passengers. You can find more information here: https://cruzely.com/free-disabled-parking-for-florida-cruises/

Greetings – how do I make a reservation to park at the port of Miami?

If you want to park at the port, reservations aren’t required. Simply show up on cruise day.

Can I part à 24 foot RV, if so, how much is it?

Yes, parking is available. It costs $44 per day for an oversized vehicle.

Where Should I Park? Best Miami Cruise Parking Guide

Guest Post

Plan on parking at PortMiami for your next cruise?  You should know there are a ton of parking options.  But don’t worry, we’ll guide you through all of them so you can save money, park conveniently, and just enjoy a worry-free cruise.

Luckily finding a place to park while you take your cruise isn’t as painful as you may think it is. To help you out, we’ve compiled everything you need to know about cruise parking near PortMiami.

Most Convenient Parking for Miami Cruise Passengers

If convenience is what you’re looking for, PortMiami offers the best cruise parking for passengers. They’re located right by the cruise ports and they offer both covered and uncovered parking with high security. They’ll also provide you with a shuttle to take you, your luggage, and anyone in your group to and from your terminal.

All lots have handicap accessible parking at standard rates. Free parking is available to any vehicles that require use of specialized equipment (ramps, lifts, foot/hand controls, etc.), display a State of Florida disabled veterans license plate, or display a Florida Toll Exemption permit.

The only downside to parking onsite is the price. Rates for overnight parking is $22 per night, and if you have an oversized vehicle longer than 20 feet you’ll pay $44 per night.  Royal Caribbean’s Terminal A charges $25 per night.

Off-Site Cruise Parking in Miami

If you’re looking for something with lower rates, there are a few businesses that offer parking for cruise passengers in Miami at a fraction of the price that the official port parking charges.

Safe Cruise Parking

Safe Cruise Parking is located just 5 minutes from the port and charges passengers roughly $14 a night per vehicle with fees and taxes, and you can book as many nights as you need.

You can find them at 155 SW 3 rd St, and once you park, they’ll provide a free shuttle to take you and your luggage to and from the cruise terminal. The shuttle runs every 15-30 minutes between 8am and 2:30pm, so be sure to arrive within that time if you wish to take advantage of it.

JetPort Park & Ride Center

This is another great budget-friendly parking option for Miami cruise travelers. Rates start at $9.99 per night and provide complimentary round-trip shuttle service for up to 4 people ($5 extra for each additional person).

JetPort is a secured parking lot with 24/7 surveillance so your car will always be safe. The shuttle runs from 8am to 3pm taking passengers to and from the cruise terminal.

You must reserve your parking online. Once you do, they’ll send you directions to the garage. When you arrive, you’ll receive an entry ticket, then once you park, you’ll go to the customer service desk to show your entry ticket and reservation, and there you’ll wait for the shuttle.

Premier Cruise Parking

This multi-level parking garage is just a mile from the ports and provides free shuttle service that can take you to the cruise terminal on cruise day and will bring you back upon your return.

Rates run about $10-$12 per day, plus taxes and fees. No oversized vehicles are allowed, so if you’re bringing an RV or camper, you’ll have to park somewhere else.

The earliest you can park there is 10:30am. Shuttle service starts at 11am and runs to 3:30pm. They do not allow any parking after 3:30pm, so be sure to plan accordingly if you decide to reserve a spot here.

Miami Parking Lots (Update- no longer in service)

Miami Parking Lots offers 3 convenient off-site parking locations for Miami cruise passengers. The addresses for these locations are:

  • 3310 NW 24 th Street Road ($8.95 per day)
  • 1849 NW 1st Ave. ($10 per day)
  • 45 SE 2 nd ($20 per day)

All lots provide free shuttle to and from the cruise port for up to 4 passengers. Any additional shuttle passengers will be charged $5 per person.

One thing we found confusing when navigating their website, is that other locations and addresses are mentioned, while when you go to book it only gives you the above three options. It’s possible they may not have updated their website in a while.

In that case, if you’re interested in the cheaper prices and services they offer, you may want to try calling them at 1-866-888-0331 for more information.

Best Cruise Parking

At just $9.99 per night ($10 during peak season), Best Cruise Parking is another favorable option for saving on your trip budget. They are located at 221 NW 1 st Street. Reservations must be made online, or you can give them a call at 1-833-568-7101.

They provide complimentary round-trip shuttle service for 4 passengers; additional persons are $5 each. Your shuttle driver will give you a set of flags to use to alert him to your presence when you return.

They do not, however, provide service to Bimini Fast Cruise, or do they allow parking of oversized vehicles.

Miami Quick Park

Quick Park at Miami Cruise Port Parking is owned and operated by another cruise parking company with multiple locations on the east coast. This is the first Miami location they’ve built.

Housed in an old Alamo car rental facility, they have 400 outdoor parking spots available, an air-conditioned waiting lounge, and staff willing and able to help with luggage and shuttle transportation. Up to 4 passengers can ride the shuttle for free, and it’s $10 for each additional person.

Quick Park rates start at $8.00 per day, but during the holidays it’s $9 per day.

Park at Miami International Airport

Even if you’re not using the airport, you can still park there, and it’s cheaper than parking at the Port of Miami. The airport is only about 9 or 10 miles from the cruise terminal. They charge $17 per day and you can park there for a maximum of 60 days.

Just like the official port parking, handicap vehicles can park in accessible parking areas and will be charged the regular rate. Those with special equipment, FL State disabled veterans license plates, or a Florida Toll Exemption permit will be exempt from parking fees.

Also, since the Port of Miami frequently offers shuttles to and from the airport, you shouldn’t have any problems getting a ride to the cruise port.

PortMiami Information

PortMiami is the largest passenger port in the world, serving over 5 million customers per year. It is also one of the largest cargo ports in the United States.

If you’ve chosen Miami as your cruise port, you may want to know a few things about the port and terminals so you can plan your trip accordingly.

The Miami cruise port has some of the most modern terminals in the world, all of them designed to move passengers quickly and efficiently from land to sea and back again. There’s convenient parking (as we’ve noted early in this article) for all terminals, and the entry ways allow for easy check-in and boarding.

This terminal serves The Crown of Miami , a Royal Caribbean vessel, along with some of Royal’s largest ships. It is the Port of Miami’s newest terminal, opened in November 2018, and is the largest cruise terminal in the U.S.

Serves Disney and MSC Cruises and was recently renovated to accommodate larger cruise vessels, including some of MSC’s mega ships.

This is the port’s smallest “boutique” cruise terminal, built and designed for smaller vessels from Oceania and Regent Seven Seas. It’s currently undergoing a few renovations to better accommodate customs and border protection, remodel existing restrooms, and add an exterior escalator.

Other Terminals

Terminals B & C serve Norwegian Cruise Line, D & E serve Carnival, and G serves Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises.

Terminals Coming Soon

In addition to the many terminals already in business at the Port of Miami, the port has plans to add a handful of new terminals in the coming years.

New Terminal B – In April 2018, the port began work on Terminal B to serve Norwegian Cruise Lines. It’s scheduled to open for business in less than a year.

New Terminal V – This terminal will be home to Virgin Voyages. The port plans to break ground later this year and are looking for construction to be complete by November 2021. Virgin Voyages is a new cruise line and their first ship, which will ship out of the Port of Miami, is Scarlet Lady.

New Terminal AA/AAA – Early this year MSC Cruises started planning and designing two new cruise facilities at the Port of Miami, hopefully to be done by 2020.

New Terminal K – And finally, Disney Cruise Line signed an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with Miami-Dade County to expand two of their ships and add a new cruise terminal as well. The new terminal will be on the south side of the port.

Just so you know what other cruise options there are, here’s some information about a few of the cruise lines that ship out of Miami. Azamara Cruises – Azamara provides cruise itineraries all over the world. Visit Alaska, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, and so much more. Passengers can spend more time in ports than most cruise lines, even as long as staying overnight, so you can immerse yourself in whatever culture fancies you.

Carnival Cruise Line – Carnival Cruise Line offers fun for all as well as reasonable rates, especially for families going on a cruise. Choose your destination, port, dates, and cruise duration, and you’ll enjoy a trip that you and your family will remember for years to come.

Disney Cruise Line – Disney Cruise Line caters to the young and the young-at heart with their one-of-a-kind cruise experience. Travel with your favorite Disney characters while you tour the Caribbean Islands. Disney cruises have something for everyone on board to enjoy.

MSC Cruises – MSC Cruises have been in the cruise business since 1988 and is the world’s largest privately-owned cruise line in Europe, South America, and Southern Africa. They operate year round with itineraries to the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Northern Europe, Southern Africa, and much more.

Oceania Cruises – With Oceania Cruises you can enjoy your cruise with an award-winning cruise line. Travel all over the world and visit various ports of call on one of six luxury cruise ships.

Viking Ocean Cruises – Viking offers River and Ocean cruises, but only the Ocean Cruises use Miami as a home port. Viking Ocean Cruises go to Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, Americas & the Caribbean, Asia, Australia, and Africa. You can even book a Grand Voyage, which combines two or more itineraries into one. Grand Voyages can last anywhere from 38 to 245 days.

Parking in Miami doesn’t have to be a nightmare. Any of the options listed above would be great choices, depending on what your preference is.

The best option for convenience and for handicapped visitors is to park on-site at the port. However, this is also the most expensive option. If there are budget restraints, Miami has various other parking options for far less, and many of them also offer shuttle service.

If you’d rather arrive a day or two before, we’ve included nearby hotels with Park & Cruise packages that provide free parking and shuttle service to the port. A few will even upgrade your room for free, which is an extra bonus.

Wherever you decide to park or stay while visiting Miami, we hope you have fun and enjoy your cruise.

Parking in Miami Cruise Port

The Port of Miami is known as the cruise capital of the world. In 2022 more than 4 million cruisers started their vacation here. This busy port is made up of 3 small islands, which are accessible from the mainline via the Port Boulevard bridge. So, its only natural that we start our list with with parking at the Miami cruise port.

1. Parking at the Port of Miami

Parking at the Miami Cruise Port is likely going to be the most convenient option for you. Miami Cruise Parking with Shuttle

Not everyone wants to park at the Miami cruise port. Not only is it the most expensive parking option, but the port is a very busy area of the city. If you’re not comfortable driving in chaotic traffic with cars and shuttles stopping to let passengers in and out, you may find that parking at a lot outside the Port of Miami is preferable for you.

2. Premier Cruise Parking

Located a short 1.2 miles away from the port, Premier Cruise Parking offers covered self-parking for approximately $12.50 per day. This parking garage is a dedicated lot solely for cruise parking. In fact, they are not open on days when ships are not in port. There is a 3 day minimum parking requirement and a maximum of 4 passengers on their complimentary shuttle. They advise that additional members of your group can be dropped at the port, while you return to park your car. This is a workable option, but not ideal since part of your group is either boarding the ship before you, or is waiting dockside for you to arrive.

The lot opens at 10:30am, but they will attempt to accommodate an earlier arrival if you call to request an exception. The garage is unable to accommodate oversized vehicles since the clearance is only 7 foot. Reservations are strongly encouraged but can be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to your reservation time.

Shuttles from the parking garage to the port of Miami run every 30 minutes from 11am to 3:15pm on when ships are in port. Return shuttles from the port back to the parking garage also run every 30 minutes from 7:30am to 10:45am.

  • Ceiling Height – 7 foot

3. Safe Cruise Parking

Another option for Miami cruise parking with shuttle is Safe Cruise Parking . This parking garage is located 2.0 miles from the port, and also offers covered self-parking. Parking here will cost approximately $11.56 per day plus taxes and fees. You’ll want to find your rate by starting a booking on their website. No worries, you’ll see prices before you have to enter any personal details.

All shuttles arrive and depart from the main level of the parking structure, so you’ll have to carry your luggage from your car to the main level. Fortunately, Safe Cruise Parking does have an elevator to make this easier. They offer shuttles to the port as well as a return shuttle back to the parking garage to pick-up your vehicle. However, only 6 passengers are allowed per reservation. You’ll be asked to drop additional passengers off at the port prior to parking, or make separate arrangements through a ride-share app or Taxi.

The parking lot is open every day from 7:30 m to 3pm, with shuttles running every 30 minutes. The focus for their shuttles are passengers disembarking from cruise ships until 10:00am. After that time, they begin running passengers to the port of Miami to board their cruise ships.

  • Elevator Available – Yes
  • Maximum Shuttle Passengers – 6 per reservation
  • Cancellations Allowed: Yes, 24 hours in advance with 10% fee

I utilized We park in Miami’s services to leave my car parked throughout the days my family and I were on my cruise. Once I arrived at the parking lot a staff member checked my family and I in. In and asked me for my license plate number, cruise ship name and number of passengers to ensure they registered each passenger with the corresponding ship return dates. I would suggest to have your license plate number written down somewhere so that you can provide it at the time of registering your car as they ask for it to ensure security keeps an extra eye on your car. I had an overall great experience with them and would highly recommend them.

Downtown Miami is home to many national and international companies, let alone tourists, so parking can really be an issue.

Parking in Miami can be not only hard to find, but also expensive. The average hourly rate in downtown Miami is $7.00. To park for 24 hours at a lot or garage, you will have to pay between $28.00 and $30.00.

Monthly parking , however, is not too expensive with an average cost of around $110 per month.

On-street parking is managed by Miami Parking Authority . There are over 9,000 on-street spots in Miami whose rates vary between $0.75 to $1.50 per hour. Most of the coin-based meters are already replaced by meters that accept coins, credit and debit cards and, in some locations, dollar bills. You also have an option to pay for parking using the Pay-by-Phone app.

You can also find more detailed parking maps for the following locations:  Port of Miami , Sun Life Stadium , Miami International Airport .

Map shows states where fireworks are legal or illegal on July 4, 2024

By Emily Mae Czachor

Updated on: July 4, 2024 / 10:12 PM EDT / CBS News

Fireworks have become a staple of July Fourth celebrations across the United States, where towns and cities often host professional shows to mark the occasion each year. In some areas, smaller displays of less powerful fireworks pop up at private holiday parties. For people wondering where fireworks are legal —and where they're illegal— nationwide, here's what to know.

Full list of U.S. states where some fireworks are legal

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has banned several types of fireworks —like M-80s, cherry bombs and anything else that contains more than 50 milligrams of pyrotechnic material— at the federal level, but state and local regulations can be more complicated. To varying degrees, certain types of fireworks are legal in 49 states, plus Washington, D.C.

Here's the full list:

  • Connecticut
  • Mississippi
  • New Hampshire
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Washington, D.C.
  • West Virginia

The one U.S. state where all private fireworks are illegal

Massachusetts is the only state in the U.S. where it is illegal to sell, use or otherwise possess fireworks of any kind as a private citizen. Many communities across the state  host public fireworks displays at their July Fourth celebrations . But without a license and permit, the statewide law prohibits fireworks of all kinds, including sparklers, firecrackers and any other comparable device that's been designed to produce "a visible or audible effect," according to the state government .

The fireworks show in Marblehead, Mass. was canceled because the fireworks barge caught fire in the early morning hours Thursday. No one was aboard the barge at the time and there were no injuries, officials said.

"There was a fire on the barge in the middle of the night," organizers said in a statement. "The fire marshal won't allow our vendor to perform any fireworks until determination of how the barge was able to catch fire."

The ban has existed since 1943 , when state legislators amended an earlier set of statutes that previously allowed civilians to buy, sell and use certain kinds of fireworks for displays. When they enacted the fireworks ban, it was among an overhaul of measures enacted in response to World War II, some of which were billed as "emergency" orders meant specifically to remain effective as long as there was a potential enemy threat. But the the consumer fireworks law stayed in place after the war.

Despite periodic calls from within Massachusetts to lift the ban, officials say it continues to be necessary and have ramped up enforcement in recent years because illegal fireworks are prevalent. Between 2013 and 2022, Massachusetts fire departments reported almost 1,000 fires linked to illegal fireworks displays, in addition to 47 injuries — the majority to firefighters — and $2.5 million in damages, according to the state .

Spectators watch the fireworks show on July 4th in Washington, D.C.

States where some fireworks are legal but many are restricted

Numerous states and Washington, D.C., restrict the sale, possession and use of consumer fireworks, even though professional fireworks displays are allowed with the appropriate licenses and permits. Those states are:

Illinois and Vermont have stricter laws than the rest of the U.S. In those states, only sparklers and "novelty" smoke devices are up for sale to the general public. A "novelty" device is one that contains "small amounts of pyrotechnic and/or explosive composition" but does not technically meet requirements to be considered a consumer firework, according to the  American Pyrotechnic Association .

In  Illinois , novelties include snakes, glow worm pellets, smoke devices, party poppers, snappers, trick matches, and "other devices in which paper or plastic caps containing twenty-five hundredths grains or less of explosive compound are used," per the state law banning most consumer fireworks.

The laws are similar in Vermont, where certain sparklers and novelty devices are allowed, provided that the sparklers contain 20 grams or less of pyrotechnic materials and the novelties contain 0.25 grains or less of explosive mixture, according to the  Office of the State Fire Marshal .

States that let counties determine fireworks laws

Hawaii, Nevada and Wyoming allow counties to determine whether fireworks are legal or not within their individual jurisdictions, as well as which kinds of fireworks are allowed and exactly when and where people can buy, sell and use them.

In Hawaii, concerns over public safety prompted legislators in 2010 to pass a law that gave counties the authority to set stricter regulations for consumer fireworks than the ones established at the state level. It allowed, for instance, the City and County of Honolulu to broadly prohibit the sale, possession and use of all consumer fireworks except fire crackers — which can be obtained with a permit. But the ordinance doesn't apply to other counties.

Similar laws have been passed by state legislatures in Nevada  and Wyoming to give local officials control over fireworks in their areas. In those states, consumer fireworks may be legal in one county and banned in another, and some counties restrict buying, selling and using fireworks to specific times on designated days of the year.

Even when consumer fireworks are generally regulated by the state, people may find themselves in a town or city in Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Nevada or Ohio that has more stringent fireworks laws than its neighbors. And, in places like Illinois, setting off fireworks is only allowed in counties that have passed an ordinance to permit it, including on private property.

What are non-aerial and non-explosive fireworks?

Most of the states where some but not all fireworks are legally accessible to civilians limit what's allowed to non-aerial and non-explosive fireworks only. Sometimes called "safe and sane" fireworks, these typically refer to devices that don't explode or fly. Because they contain lower amounts of combustible material than other fireworks, officials say they are also less likely to cause injuries or damage to property.

In wildfire-prone California, purchasing fireworks is illegal unless their packaging explicitly bears a "safe and sane" seal. A  fireworks education site operated by the California fire marshal's office lists sky rockets, bottle rockets, Roman candles, aerial shells and firecrackers as a few examples of fireworks that have been banned statewide in accordance with "safe and sane" standards, along with "other fireworks that explode, go into the air, or move on the ground in an uncontrollable manner."

A growing number of California counties have outlawed fireworks altogether . Violators could faces fines and or jail time.

Why do some states ban certain fireworks?

Most states that place restrictions for civilians on the sale, possession and use of fireworks say the risks of injuries and property damages are their main reasons for doing so. In a number of those states, officials also cite the increased likelihood of wildfires sparking and potentially spreading in an area where fireworks have been set off.

In California, as the weather remains hot and dry this week, fire officials are issuing warnings about the use of fireworks, which are illegal in several counties. At least two brush fires in the Bay Area may have been caused by illegal fireworks in the past few days. In San Francisco, all fireworks are illegal.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said it received reports of eight deaths and an estimated 9,700 injuries related to fireworks in 2023 alone. Of the eight deaths, five were associated with fireworks misuse, two with device malfunction and one was unknown.

How to report illegal fireworks

States and counties across the country encourage people to report any instances where they suspect illegal fireworks are involved, and many ask their residents to file those reports to their local fire departments or law enforcement agencies. People can also report illegal fireworks activity to a hotline at the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms , which is responsible for regulating all explosives, including fireworks.

Diddy Sued by Woman Claiming He Sex Trafficked Her at Parties

Ray j shirtless, pissed off at bet awards, claims security locked him out, ray j meltdown outside bet awards ... i'm about to get 'ghetto'.

Ray J really was going through it at the BET Awards, and now we have the video to back it up -- it's a full meltdown, with him threatening to make things "ghetto" after security allegedly denied him re-entry to the show.

The footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Ray pacing around Sunday night outside the award show at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles ... and he's getting more and more animated.

Ray appears to be arguing with some security guards and he's overheard complaining about not being let inside the show ... and things escalate to the point where he rips off his shirt and declares, "I didn't bring the ghetto to BET yet, but I'm about to!!!"

In parts of the video Ray is holding a beverage, and at other times he appears to be smoking something ... all while he's visibly upset.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us Ray was hired by BET to host 3 events throughout the weekend, including a backstage access show Sunday night ... which is when this video was shot.

While Ray was filming backstage for BET Digital, he kept going back and forth between inside and outside during his breaks ... without wearing his credentials.

Our sources say Ray went out about 15 times, including some trips with BET executives, entering and exiting through a door right next to the stage.

But, we're told about 30 minutes before the award show was ending, the same security guard posted at the door finally took issue with Ray not wearing his credentials, and told him he'd been doing it all night and wasn't going to be allowed in this time.

Ray J Says He's Suicidal Following Near Brawl After BET Awards

The timeline suggests this is when Ray was spotted outside the show getting animated in the parking lot. Our sources say Ray thinks there's a racial element to this ... claiming the security guard who allegedly wouldn't let him back in was white.

Watch for the end of the video, though -- there's one funny moment as shirtless Ray makes a comment about his, umm ... physique.

As we reported, later in the evening, Ray nearly got into a street brawl at a BET Awards afterparty ... and then poured out his emotions in an alarming social media post referencing the dispute and saying he was suicidal .

Based on this new video, it appears things were building up for Ray J.
