Alaska is not currently a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) , but there is pending legislation to enact the NLC there. The School of Nursing is seeking applications for Resource Center Student Lab Assistants. The schedule for this position is flexible, depending on the needs of the labs and the student worker’s class schedule. This is a part-time, temporary position, with up to 20 hours per week.
Excellent organizational skills Ability to understand and execute written and verbal instructions Ability to lift up to 20 pounds Good problem solving skills Reliable and dependable Flexible schedule Self-starter Demonstrate a willingness to adapt and learn Some familiarity with medical equipment/supplies is helpful, but not required
Students that are enrolled in pre-nursing classes or classes focused on healthcare or related degree are preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
To be eligible for student employment at UAA, a student must: a. be enrolled in the university system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment b. for employment between semesters, have successfully completed six or more UA credit hours in the preceding semester and demonstrate plans to enroll for six or more credit hours in the next semester c. not work hours which interfere with class attendance d. have at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average
Position Details:
This position is located on the Goose Lake Campus in Anchorage, AK. New hires will be placed on the UA student salary schedule , based on education and experience.
This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
