Snoop Dogg has announced the rescheduled 2023 dates for his ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ UK and Ireland tour. The hip-hop icon will kick off the arena jaunt at Belfast’s SSE Arena on March 14, followed by dates in Manchester, Glasgow, London, Dublin, Leeds, and Birmingham.

Snoop will be joined by his peers and collaborators Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Obie Trice and D12. Irish rap duo Versatile are also hitting the road with the icons of the West Coast scene.

Meanwhile, Snoop and Dr. Dre have collaborated on a new album called “Missionary.” The hip-hop idols have teamed up on their first new music in three decades.

‘The Tipping Point’: The Roots At The Crossroads Of Hip-Hop

The killers, iggy azalea, and vengaboys: currently trending songs, ‘already platinum’: slim thug’s classic neptunes team-up.

He spilled in October: “Me and Dr. Dre have been working on an album for the past two months.”

Asked about the sex position moniker, he replied: “The first album was ‘Doggystyle’…”

The album title confirmation comes after Eminem shared a snap in the studio with the pair in September and captioned it: “Just a few bros…hangin out.”

Snoop and Dre reunited earlier this year for an epic performance at the Super Bowl halftime show – along with Eminem , Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar . And following whispers that the pair were in the studio, Snoop told Entertainment Tonight : “We’re cooking up a little something. I don’t wanna talk about it too much, but we’re back together again.

“It’s been 30 years since we worked on a record, and we’re doin’ something, we’re workin’ on something.”

Snoop shot to fame in 1992 when he featured on Dre’s debut solo single, “Deep Cover” and his solo LP The Chronic .

Earlier this year, Snoop bought Death Row Records, the label that launched his career. The rapper – whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr – acquired the company from MNRK Music Group for an undisclosed sum.

The 51-year-old megastar said in February: “I am thrilled and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, which has immense untapped future value. “It feels good to have ownership of the label I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members. This is an extremely meaningful moment for me.”

Snoop Dogg’s UK and Ireland 2023 dates are:

March 14 – Belfast, SSE Arena March 15 – Manchester, AO Arena March 16 – Glasgow, SEC Hydro March 21 – London, O2 Arena March 26 – Dublin, 3Arena March 27 – Leeds, First Direct Arena.

FURTHER INFORMATION ON SNOOP DOGG

West Coast rap legend Snoop Dogg has come a long way since being discovered by Dr. Dre in the early 1990. As impressive as he was when guesting on Dre’s  The Chronic  in 1992, few could have guessed he’d go on to global fame, tens of millions of record sales, and a career in movies and TV. And that’s only part of the story, from battles with the law to reinvention as a reggae artist.

He was born Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. in Long Beach, California, on October 20, 1971. His “Snoop Dogg” nickname came from his mother because she thought he looked like Snoopy from the Peanuts cartoon. He played piano and sang at his local Baptist church, before starting rap in sixth grade. After graduating high school, Snoop was arrested several times for drug possession and spent time in prison. He was also associated with the Rollin’ 20 Crips Gang. He started making music as a way out of his troubles and recorded early demos with his cousin Nate Dogg and friend Warren G as 213. A track on one of these came to the attention of Dr. Dre who invited Snoop — then rapping under the name Snoop Doggy Dogg — to audition. From there they collaborated on a song called “Deep Cover” for the soundtrack of the film for the same name; and Snoop became the key rapper on Dre’s hugely successful first solo album,  The Chronic , in 1992.

Snoop’s first album, the Dre-produced  Doggystyle  (1993), climbed its way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s hip-hop and Top 200 charts, based in part on the success of the singles “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and “Gin and Juice.”

Next came a short film called  Murder Was the Case , the soundtrack of which went double platinum. Snoop’s next album,  Tha Doggfather  (1996), also reached the top of the charts, despite the absence of Dre, who had left Death Row over a contract dispute. Snoop then left Death Row himself, falling out with label mogul Suge Knight and moving to Master P’s No Limit Records. He scored the top slot on the hip-hop charts with his next two albums:  Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told  (1998) and  No Limit Top Dogg  (1999). His last album for No Limit,  The Last Meal , came in 2000 and sold over 2 million copies. By now his sound had become less “gangsta rap” and somewhat smoother.

Snoop continued to make music throughout the noughts, enjoying a big hit in 2004 with the chart-topping single “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” which sparked several fruitful collaborations with Pharrell Williams. He reunited with Warren G and Nate Dogg as 213 to drop the album  The Hard Way  in 2004. In 2007, Snoop became the first artist to release a track — “It’s The DOG” — as a ringtone prior to its release as a single. He also branched out into acting during the same period and appeared in several films, including  Starsky & Hutch ,  The Wash  and  Training Day . He also made guest appearances on television shows, including  The L Word  and  Weeds , and starred in his own E! reality show,  Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood , in 2007. He was part of a sketch show,  Doggy Fizzle Televizzle , and participated in the Comedy Central Roast of the future president Donald Trump. He also uses his likeable laconic personality to good effect in a new venture for VH1,  Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party , where he and Martha Stewart host dinner parties for various celebrities.

Outside of music, Snoop has made investments in the burgeoning cannabis business. In November 2015 he launched Leafs By Snoop, becoming the first A-list celebrity to brand a line of cannabis products. That same year he also launched a new digital-media venture called Merry Jane, which focuses on the latest marijuana news. In May 2017 Snoop dropped his fifteenth studio album  Neva Left . He also released a gospel album titled Bible of Love in March 2018.

He is held in high esteem and affection by hip-hop fans worldwide, and is one of the most recognizable faces and voices of the whole genre, even to those who don’t listen to his music. He has the distinction for having the most Grammy nominations of any music artist— 17 to date — without having won one. But as Snoop Dogg shows few signs of retiring, don’t write him off just yet.

Snoop Dogg has cancelled all his non-US shows for the remainder of 2022 due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects”.

That means his upcoming ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ tour that was set to hit the UK in August is no longer going ahead. The tour was originally meant to take place in 2020 to promote his 2019 album of the same name, but was rescheduled to 2022 due to coronavirus . It’s now been cancelled all together, with refunds available from the point of purchase.

In a statement shared on social media, Snoop’s team wrote: “Dear friends and fans, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects, Snoop Dogg regrets he is cancelling all upcoming non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022.

“He was excited to see his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show. He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future.“

The Australian leg of Snoop Dogg’s ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ tour which was set to take place in October and November has also been cancelled. A statement released by Perth’s RAC Arena where Snoop was set to perform says new dates for February 2023 are “looking likely” but yet to be confirmed.

Last month, 50 Cent revealed that the Snoop Dogg TV series he was working on is no longer in production due to the network dropping “the damn ball”.

Snoop Dogg has rescheduled his Manchester gig for a second time due to 'unforeseen circumstances', it has been announced. The news was shared on Monday afternoon (June 6), promising eagerly waiting fans that new dates are soon to be released.

The 'Drop it like it's hot' hitmaker was originally set to perform at the AO Arena on September 1, after his 2020 gig was rescheduled due to the Covid pandemic and restrictions. The rapper will continue with gigs across the USA, but has now pulled out of all ‘non-U.S.’ dates in his tour.

The announcement cited 'family obligations, filming commitments and unforeseen circumstances' as the reason for the cancellation.

AO Arena tweeted the news on Monday afternoon, sharing a message directly from the show's promoters. It read: "Due to unforeseen circumstances, family obligations and filming commitments, Snoop Dogg will be rescheduling his UK and Ireland 2022 tour.

"New dates will be released shortly and your tickets will remain valid for the new dates, so please hold on to them. We can't wait to finally bring the Godfather of Rap back to the UK and Ireland and see you all there!"

And a post on Snoop Dogg’s own Instagram account last week added: “Dear friends and fans, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects, Snoop Dogg regrets he is cancelling all upcoming non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022.

“He was excited to see his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show. He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future. Ticket refunds will be available at the original point of purchase.

“Snoop Dogg is still committed to his remaining US tour dates for the rest of 2022. Thank you for your support and be safe out there ya’ll.”

The new dates are expected to be announced in the near future. Ticket holders have been told their tickets will be valid for the new dates.

Snoop Dogg cancels plans for ‘I Wanna Thank Me’ UK tour

Snoop Dogg has shelved his plans to tour the United Kingdom later this summer.

Originally, Snoop was due to arrive in the UK in 2020 to promote his 2019 album, I Wanna Thank Me , but, the pandemic reset his plans. The dates were rescheduled for 2022, however, Snoop’s work commitments have meant his tour has now been cancelled.

His tour was scheduled to start in Glasgow at the OVO Arena and Snoop planned to visit to Birmingham, London, Leeds, and Manchester before concluding in Belfast on September 16th.

Snoop’s team explained the decision on social media and wrote: “Dear friends and fans, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects, Snoop Dogg regrets he is cancelling all upcoming non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022.

“He was excited to see his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show. He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future.”

It’s not just the United Kingdom which will be missing out on Snoop, he’s also had to cancel his Australian jaunt, which was due to take place in October and November. However, Perth’s RAC Arena have said it’s “looking likely” the show will go ahead next February, although they are waiting for confirmation.

The Australian leg of Snoop Dogg’s I Wanna Thank Me tour which was set to take place in October and November has also been cancelled. A statement released by Perth’s RAC Arena where Snoop was set to perform says new dates for February 2023 are “looking likely” but yet to be confirmed.

Snoop Dogg has cancelled all of his upcoming non-US tour dates for the rest of the year due to ‘unforeseen scheduling conflicts’.

The Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper shared a statement via his official social media accounts, voicing his ‘regret’ over the decision as he prepared for ‘family obligations’ as well as future screen work.

With an official caption of ‘From the desk of Snoop Dogg’, the short announcement began: ‘Dear friends and fans, Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming tv and film projects, Snoop Dogg regrets he is cancelling all upcoming non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022.’

‘He was excited to see all his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show,’ it continued.

‘He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future.’

The message also noted that ticket refunds would be available at the point of purchase for fans that had already bought them.

Confirming that shows were still going ahead in the US, the statement added: ‘Snoop Dogg is still committed to his remaining US tour dates for the rest of 2022.’

‘Thank you for your support and be safe out there ya’ll,’ it concluded.

Snoop, who finished co-presenting ‘US Eurovision’ competition American Song Contest with Kelly Clarkson earlier this month, was due to perform in the UK, Finland, France, Denmark, Germany and Ireland in August and September of this year.

While some fans were naturally disappointed to find out they would have to wait longer to see him perform, many were supportive.

‘Been waiting 2 years 😭,’ lamented one, but another posted: ‘Do whatever you need to do @snoopdogg 🙌🏽 we’ll always respect you🙏🏼’

‘It’s all good sometimes you got to do what you got to do. 💯💯🙌🙌,’ commented one follower.

The 17-time Grammy nominee released his 19th studio album, BODR, in February 2022 after acquiring Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group (formerly eOne Music).

He also revealed in April that he has laid down his parts on a collaboration track with K-Pop superstars BTS .

The rapper has previously found charts success through teaming up with more mainstream pop acts like Justin Timberlake, Pussycat Dolls and Katy Perry , with California Gurls giving him his sole number one on the UK charts so far.

Snoop Dogg is calling off his upcoming shows outside of the United States.

In a statement shared on his social media accounts on Sunday, the "Ain't No Fun" rapper announced the cancellation of the non-U.S. tour dates for the remainder of 2022 with "regrets."

His statement also explained that the decision to cancel the international performances was "due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming TV and film projects."

"He was excited to see his fans around the world and apologies to all that had already made plans to see his show," the statement for Snoop, 50, continued. "He looks forward to rescheduling dates in the future."

The message also noted that all tickets will be refunded at "the original point of purchase."

The BODR rapper captioned the post: "FROM THE DESK OF SNOOP DOGG."

He was originally scheduled to perform concerts across Europe from Aug. 26 to Sept. 19 prior to the announcement.

Last month, during an interview with The Buzz , Snoop said he is working on a collaboration with BTS , sharing he has already recorded vocals for the forthcoming track.

"You gotta talk to them, but my parts are in," Snoop shared on the red carpet for American Song Contest , which he co-hosted with Kelly Clarkson .

Calvin Broadus was born on October 20th 1971, and started rapping when he was eleven years old. Ten years after that he took the stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg to begin recording, and in doing so, changed the face of Hip-Hop forever.

There are more than a few artists around that it’s basically impossible to say anything new about. They have been so scrutinised, so celebrated and so criticised that most of what one can say about them has already been said before. This is very much the case with Snoop Dogg, one of the cast iron legends of Hip-Hop and one of the key influences that make it what it is today, both as a cultural phenomenon, and as (arguably) the dominant force of pop music in the world.

After his rapping caught the attention of Hip-Hop godhead Dr. Dre, the legendary producer gave the up and coming Snoop the exposure of a lifetime by featuring him heavily on his 1992 album “The Chronic”. The California, US native capitalised by releasing the following years “Doggystyle” and promptly became one of the world’s most successful, famous, controversial, and downright feared musicians overnight. Since then his image has softened slightly, he’s more likely to be seen in adverts for Hot Pockets than on trial for murder (as he was in 1996), but he’s diversified to a thrilling degree as a musician.

Not content with giving the world the best G-Funk it’s ever going to get with “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” and “Gin and Juice”, he’s also given it some of its best straight up hip hop with the Pharrell Williams assisted “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and is still unafraid to tread his own path. His most recent reinvention, with a new name (Snoop Lion) and a new reggae sound on the album “Reincarnated”, sees him still going from strength to strength 22 years into his career. With a back catalogue like his, and a bright future to match, you can’t go wrong with the Doggfather himself, Snoop Dogg.

Live reviews

I was pretty worried that the concert might've been uncomfortable, as I'm a teen that went with their parents. Also, my mom isn't good at keeping her calm in situations surrounded by high intensity and tons of weed (which I guarantee will be at any Snoop concert). But it was the opposite of awkward. It was really fucking fun and people of all ages and backgrounds were there. We sat in the mezzanine, and even that far away from the stage it was high energy and a great vibe. HYPE Everyone was feeling the music and yes, there was shitloads of marijuana, even in a fancy theater venue like the Paramount in Seattle. But it's not overwhelming at all, even if you don't smoke. No one's aggressive or anything of the sort or passing judgement. Everybody's there to flip out over Snoop Dogg, dance, sing their hearts out, and have a good time. Snoop was so charismatic, captivating, and comfortable onstage. He never missed a beat or messed up his lyrics and put on a great show. I lost all inhibition dancing, and I'm usually self-conscious and anxious. Tons of fun. There were about five different groups opening, which lasted around three and a half hours (Puff Puff Pass Tour Part 2). Snoop was up there for about an hour and a half. He finished with Young, Wild & Free and spoke about all the hatred in the world in its current situation and how his tour was all about empathy, peace, and love and to stay strong. It was honestly beautiful. The show closed with Bob Marley's jamming. My clothes and hair still smelled like weed the day after. Definitely a must-see.

Thought the show was very entertaining! Snoop's got a great legacy and his story is definitely worthy of a play (and a movie as well, which we know will happen). Tamar Braxton was perfect as the Angel and WOW was really impressed with La Toya London's performance! Thought physically Lil JJ was too short to play Snoop but he very much acted the part and won me over. Oh and the visuals and sound effects were great too. Every time I heard gunshots I actually turned to make sure it wasn't real. LOL!!! So my only critique was it ran a little long, thought his story could have been told in less time. Other than that great job by everyone, cast, crew, the band.

Oh and forgot how much I despise the seating arrangement at Microsoft Theater. Rows are too long so if you're seated in middle seats you have to scoot by at least 10-14 people to get to your seat, annoying! Also people actually brought infants and small children. This is not a good place to bring children. Hire a babysitter! This along with the high ticket price, convenience charge, taxes and parking fees are probably why I will consider not going here again.

Okay, who doesn't love Snoop Dogg? Maybe my grandma, but otherwise, I can't think of anyone!

So, when I had the opportunity of a lifetime to see Snoop Dogg (and others) live I was more than thrilled. I was excited as I have ever been in my entire life. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. Snoop Dogg is a legend in the rap world and he did nothing less than live up to that legacy during this show at Coachella.

He kept the audience involved in the show the entire time. There was not one dull moment, it was probably one of the best nights of my life. At one time, I swear he even looked right at me and pointed and winked at me. I almost died! I was so excited.

His music is well, Snoop Dogg's music and if you like it you love it. I enjoyed all the old school music that he played as well as some of the newer songs he has.

His performance was great. He had me smiling the entire time, I seriously couldn't believe I was seeing Snoop Dogg. Like, it was him, right there in front of me. I will never forget that night. One of the best ever!

Last night's snoop show was a blast !! We puffed puffed passed till we couldn't anymore cuz the show ended but The smooth dark chocolate rapper has done it again in Colorado showing us that his vital stamina and pure heart and soulkeeps him ahead of the pack !! Well since it was spoiled rasta Rosa's 4 th Snoopsy concert in 2016 I'll rate it #2 after the 420 concert with wiz @ Fiddlers Green in April I loved the old school feel with Bone Thigs and harmony it was like my cherry got poped again 18 years later took me right back to the Glorydays !!! Lol I love you Snoop I am your biggest Fan from Colorado. It's funny Snoop was talking about bucket lists last night and go sure smoking with the Dogg face to face blowing o's in each other's face is definitely on my bucket list ! Bring The wifey and Martha we will all get down ! Thank you Snoop for listening to yourself to be who you are you inspire the best of us !!!

Well, it was great to see him do so many hits, (and I actually really admired the athleticism of the 2 pole dancers on the stage). However, it really felt like he was phoning it in. The show was 1 long medley. I don't think he performed 1 song from beginning to end, and there was definitely a lack of energy on the stage. But, ya know what? My friend and I agreed; if anyone has earned the right to do that, it's him at this point in his career. Now, if I had paid $150 or $300 I would've been pissed and felt ripped off. But the for the $60 I paid, it was fine. We enjoyed the show, and I always enjoy going to the Concord in Chicago - it's a great venue: best acoustics anywhere, plenty of elbow room even for sold out shows, and plenty of bars with little or no waiting.

The overall show was 5.5 hours so it was good value from that perspective. Kudos to the long line-up. I've seen Snoop perform about 10 times. The good thing is that his overall stage presence was fairly long and he touched on many songs, albums and artists and he made a decent effort. The bad part is that he shortens all the songs by about half, to ensure he can cover more songs (which I think is fine), but also speeds the bpm of songs which makes them a bit disorienting to those that know the songs and lyrics. I didn't love the dancing girls personally but that is a matter of taste. Wow, since he stopped wearing Adidas, his wardrobe style ranking has sure dropped a quite a few levels! ; )

The concert all the way around was so LIT

I have been to many concerts and I would have to say by far the best concert I have ever witnessed in my life. I can’t even say who was better Bone Thugz, Warren G and Snoop where all amazing !!! I am so happy that I was able to witness this concert and the storm going down in the back round just made the concert that much better !!

It sucked. Cypress hill was dope... if they promoted that snoop dogg and wiz were collaborating and performing together I would have never gone. It was garbage snoop should just stick to himself on stage and play his style of music. Don't waste your money on going. Unless u like that new style of "hip hop" than its perfect but if not than definitely don't waste your money

Snoop Dogg has cancelled his forthcoming concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The “Gin and Juice” rapper, 51, was scheduled to perform two nights at the iconic venue to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut, 1993 album Doggystyle .

In a statement posted on social media, Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr) wrote: “We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty of when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show.

“We continue to stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG/AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work.”

According to the Hollywood Bowl website, customers who purchased tickets will automatically receive refunds credited to their original payment method.

Piers Morgan ridiculed for saying he’d be ‘executed’ if he made ‘male version’ of Barbie

The shows, produced by Dr Dre, were originally scheduled for late June, but were pushed back to 20-21 October when the TV and film writers’ union went on strike. Snoop Dogg said at the time that he and Dre “stand in solidarity with the writers”.

The actors’ union later followed suit, ordering a strike action on 14 July, effectively grinding Hollywood to a halt.

Among a number of concerns, both unions are fighting for an increase in residuals in the streaming era – compensation paid each time a TV show or movie is played.

Speaking at a panel in May, Snoop Dogg compared writers’ gripes with residuals to artists’ frustrations over music streaming platforms.

“I don’t understand how the f*** you get paid off of that shit. Somebody explain to me how you can get a billion streams and not get a million dollars?… That’s the main gripe with a lot of us artists is that we do major numbers… but it don’t add up to the money. Like, where the f*** is the money?”

Numerous A-listers joined a SAG-AFTRA rally in New York City on Tuesday (25 July), including Jessica Chastain, Brendan Fraser and Bryan Cranston.

Breaking Bad star Cranston gave a rousing speech to the protestors, which took aim at Disney CEO Bob Iger.

Iger had previously made disparaging comments about the combined industry strikes.

Zack Arnold, the editor and associate producer of Netflix’s Cobra Kai , told The Independent that the strike was caused by a “perfect storm” of streaming dominance, which has led to the erosion of residual pay, and the advent of AI in the industry.
