Dethklok Reveal 2024 U.S. Tour Dates With DragonForce + Nekrogoblikon

Metalocalypse   stars Dethklok just revealed a set of 2024 U.S. tour dates, with DragonForce and  Nekrogoblikon joining as support for the run.

Dubbed the  Mutilation on a Spring Night Tour , the trek kicks off April 7 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the House of Blues and wraps up May 3 in Portland, Ore. at the Roseland Theatre. DragonForce and Nekrogoblikon will open the shows throughout the entirety of the tour.

The general sale for tickets will begin this Friday, Feb. 9 at 10AM local time, and can be purchased on Dethklok's website .

“I love bands that celebrate guitar and bands that have a lot of fun onstage. I also love bands that don’t, but for this tour, I think it makes sense to have a lot of dragons, goblins, and ‘kloks together,” Metalocalypse  creator and Dethklok mastermind Brendon Small said. “If you’re going to do this, you gotta go big and over the top. This is going to be a very fun show for people.”

Small added that it's a special time for the band to go out and tour, as 2023 saw the release of both Dethklok's fourth studio album  Dethalbum IV  and the film  Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar.

“This is a very fun time with the tour, the album, and the movie. I don’t know if Dethklok will be touring forever,” he admitted. “So, it’s important for people to know they should get it while it’s hot.”

Zach Bryan rocks out on guitar in concert.

On July 4, Zach Bryan dropped his fifth studio album “The Great American Bar Scene.”

What makes this release remarkable is twofold.

First, the 19-track record hit shelves just ten months (!) after the 28-year-old singer put out his self-titled album “Zach Bryan.” Secondly, it should also be noted that the busy country singer has been tirelessly playing sold-out concerts at arenas, stadiums and festivals all over North America on his ‘The Quittin’ Time Tour’ this past year.

Given the quick turnaround, one might be led to believe “The Great American Bar Scene” would be a bit of a letdown given how quickly it came together and how little free time Bryan has on his hands.

Thankfully, that’s not the case.

“It’s got Zach’s signature sound but also has signs of growth through his lyrics and at times songs that feel like he’s paying homage to other esteemed musicians like Jason Isbell and Bruce Springsteen,” author and noted Zach Bryan super-fan Clayton Porter said.

“Don’t let anyone add class to it, it’s one hardworking great American album, enough said.”

If you want to hear the debut these new songs on the road, tickets are available for all 39 upcoming ‘Quittin’ Time Tour’ concerts from now until December.

That includes his final two gigs at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Wednesday, Dec. 18 and Thursday, Dec. 19 .

At the time of publication, ticket prices start at $80 before fees on Vivid Seats.

Wondering how much it will cost to see the 2024 Grammy Award-winning Bryan at the concert closest to you?

You’re in the right place, Revivalists.

We’ve got everything you need to know and more about the remainder of Zach Bryan’s 2024 ‘The Quittin’ Time Tour’ below.

All prices listed above are subject to fluctuation.

Zach Bryan set list

In March, Bryan kicked off his tour at Chicago’s United Center.

While he’ll likely incorporate more “The Great American Bar Scene” songs into his upcoming concerts, here’s what he performed back on opening night, courtesy of  Set List FM :

01.) “Overtime” 02.) “Open the Gate” 03.) “God Speed” 04.) “The Great American Bar Scene” 05.) “Fifth of May” 06.) “Tishomingo” 07.) “Deep Satin” 08.) “Oklahoma City” 09.) “Nine Ball” 10.) “Boys of Faith” 11.) “’68 Fastback” 12.) “Better Days” 13.) “Condemned” 14.) “Tourniquet” 15.) “Oklahoma Smokeshow” 16.) “I Remember Everything” (with Kacey Musgraves) 17.) “East Side of Sorrow” 18.) “Dawns” 19.) “Highway Boys” 20.) “Something in the Orange” 21.) “Heading South” 22.) “Burn, Burn, Burn” 23.) “Hey Driver” 24.) “Quittin’ Time” Encore:

25.) “Revival”

Zach Bryan new music

As you may recall, Bryan released his fifth studio album “The Great American Bar Scene” on Independence Day this year.

Clocking in at 63 minutes — yet never even coming close to wearing out its welcome — the earnest, warts and all singer delivers more of his no-frills, middle American poetry that celebrates life’s small pleasures and devastating heartbreaks.

After a few plays, our team fell in love with the spoken word, chills-inducing lead track “Lucky Enough (Poem)” as well as the harmonica-heavy “The Great American Bar Scene” and rousing Springsteen-esque “American Nights.”

The show-stopping “Oak Island,” twinkly “Bass Boat” and the Springsteen duet “Sandpaper” also stand out.

However, “Towers,” a hair-raising gospel tune, towers above the rest of the album. Fingers crossed, it becomes a tour staple complete with a choir.

Want to hear for yourself?

You can give “The Great American Bar Scene” a spin here .

AJR in Phoenix: Ultimate guide to the Footprint Center concert

nekrogoblikon tour setlist

The AJR brothers are on their first arena tour. The Maybe Man Tour makes its way to downtown Phoenix for a concert at Footprint Center on Friday, July 12.

The tour is in support of "The Maybe Man," their fifth studio album, which All Music praised for the way they "continue to turn their personal pain and anxieties into universally relatable pop anthems."

AJR explained the inspiration for the album in a statement.

“In your mid-to-late twenties, you start to think about your life," they wrote. "There’s endless potential, but it’s also scary because you don’t know who you’re going to be. This album examines that personal existential crisis and the prevalent question of, ‘Who am I?’”

Doobie Brothers sounded great revisiting iconic songs on 2024 tour in Phoenix

M ichael McDonald rejoining the fold just in time for the 50th Anniversary Tour was a big deal for obvious reasons to anyone who grew up in the ‘70s when the Doobie Brothers ruled the airwaves with an endless string of pop hits that continue to define their place in music history.

He hadn’t done a Doobie Brothers tour since 1996 before they launched their anniversary tour in 2021 . He’s an amazing talent. And he did sing lead on several of their biggest singles, from “Takin’ it To the Streets” to “Minute by Minute” and “What a Fool Believes,” which took them to the top a second time on Billboard’s Hot 100.

The anniversary tour played Phoenix twice. And they’re still out there touring — and recording! — with McDonald, who seemed right at home from the time he strolled onstage and took his place behind the keyboards when the tour hit Footprint Center on Wednesday, June 26.

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

Doobie Brothers setlist: Every song Michael McDonald and crew did in Phoenix

Michael McDonald shared spotlight with Tom Johnston, Pat Simmons

McDonald shared the vocal spotlight with two founding members, guitarists Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, with Johnston out front on such crowd-pleasing classics as “Listen to the Music,” “Long Train Runnin’” and “China Grove” and Simmons at the wheel on a spirited “Jesus is Just Alright” and “Black Water,” the Doobies’ first chart-topping entry on the Hot 100.

Even John McFee took a turn in the spotlight, swapping vocals with McDonald on the soulful “One Step Closer.”

All three guitarists — Johnston, Simmons and McFee, a multi-instrumentalist who nailed the blues-harp break on “Long Train Runnin’” and the fiddle on “Black Water” — had a chance to shine on lead guitar.

McDonald’s keyboard playing was fantastic.

A karaoke machine would probably have docked McDonald points for all the liberties he took with the delivery of his greatest hits, approaching “What a Fool Believes” and “Minute by Minute” as opportunities to re-explore his signature songs with the looseness of phrasing a jazz singer might have applied to re-interpreting those songs.

But here's the thing. He sounded great. As did Johnston, whose voice is apparently ageless, and Simmons.

Doobie Brothers touring members added to the magic of concert

The four official members were joined by touring bassist John Cowan, drummer Ed Toth, percussionist Mark Quinones and saxophone hero Marc Russo, whose habit of ending his solos really wailing on those high notes, often drew spontaneous ovations from the audience, especially on “Eyes of Silver” and “Long Train Runnin’.”

The video screen behind the stage was often filled with footage of the Doobie Brothers in the ‘70s — performance clips as well as old home movies of the band on tour in a plane that said the Doobieliner during “What a Fool Believes.”

It was especially thrilling to watch Simmons solo along to a younger version of himself on “Dependin’ on You.”

As long as they kept the focus on the Doobie Brothers, the visuals were great. The scenes of couples of a certain age embracing during “Here to Love You” felt uncomfortably close to a TV commercial on how you, too, can conquer erectile dysfunction with a hint of Folgers in your cup. Which is to say it felt a little corny.

Doobie Brothers tour puts focus on hit songs that define their legacy

They started the show on a high note with their cover of the Holland-Dozier-Holland standard “Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me a Little While),” a Motown classic first recorded by Kim Weston that became one of the Doobie Brothers' biggest hits.

Before the set was through, they’d touched on nearly all the staples you’d expect while dusting off a highlight of their latest album, “Liberte,” a song called “Cannonball” that Simmons said he chose because he wanted to do a motorcycle song.

They also did “World Gone Wrong,” the title track to an album from 2010 that definitely lived up to its introduction of “We’re gonna take you down to New Orleans."

The Doobies held their heaviest hitters for the back half of the concert, bringing the set to a crowd-pleasing finish with “Jesus Is Just Alright,” “What a Fool Believes,” “Long Train Runnin’” and “China Grove” (which brought more people to their feet than any other song they’d done until that point)

Then they came back to open their encore with another of their most enduring hits, “Black Water,” which became a massive singalong. An instrumental version of “Amazing Grace” by Russo and McDonald gave way to a suitably spirited “Takin’ It to the Streets” before they signed with one final classic, “Listen to the Music.”

The Robert Cray Band opened for the Doobie Brothers in Phoenix

The Robert Cray Band opened with a set of truly soulful blues and R&B led by Cray, who squeezed out some amazing solos on guitar with testing the limits of his vocal range on several highlights of his set, including a slow-burning cover of “Sittin’ on Top of the World” and a suitably fiery version of “Hot.”

He’s got a great band, from George Sluppick swinging the beat with authority behind the kit to keyboard player Dover “White Cliffs” Weinberg coming through with something guaranteed to grab you by the collar every time he stepped into the spotlight, up to and including that ridiculously high note on the organ at the end of “Time Makes Two.”

"Combat," she sang and the crowd inside the Johan Cruijff Arena roared. "I'm ready for combat."

Earlier in the Eras Tour, Swift ended the "Lover" era with "The Archer" before disappearing into the stage. In April, the singer pruned her set list to make room for "Tortured Poets" songs, which resulted in the "Lover" era ending with the title track.

"Can I ask you a question?" Swift sang during the piano portion of her acoustic set, mashing in the "Midnights" song "Question...?" with "The Archer."

Before her piano two-song creation, Swift hoisted her guitar over her shoulder.

"I really wanted to challenge myself to play as many songs from different eras and albums," she said in her vibrant orange dress. "We'll see how this one goes."

Swift combined "Guilty as Sin?" from "The Tortured Poets Department" with "Untouchable" from "Fearless (Taylor's Version)."

"You guys sang that so loud," she said, sounding impressed. "It's just the most thrilling feeling when I can hear your voices so loud, over even what's coming out of the speakers."

The Eras Tour star has two more nights left in Amsterdam before heading to Zurich.
