Leicester City Tickets

This has seen interest in Leicester City tickets surge drastically, but fortunately you'll be able to find a variety of LCFC tickets via SeatPick, with only the most trusted resellers to choose from.

In 2021, Leicester City followed up with another impressive triumph, this time in the FA Cup , as they beat Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium thanks to a Youri Tielemans goal.

Leicester City Football Club, also known as the Foxes, is a professional football team based in the city.

Founded in 1884 as Leicester Fosse, the club played in their historic home Filbert Street for 111 years before moving to the King Power Stadium in 2002. The club has a proud history and their dressing rooms have been graced by some of football's true greats including Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton, Keith Weller, Frank Worthington, Emile Heskey, Muzzy Izzet, Esteban Cambiasso, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.

The stand-out moment in the club's long history is the Premier League win in the 2015-2016 season – one of the greatest sporting fairytales of all time. Defying odds of 5,000/1, Leicester City made headlines all over the world as the underdogs who became only the sixth club to get their name on the Premier League trophy.

Before that crowning moment, the club had spent all but one season in the top two tiers of English football, winning three League Cups along the way. Now the club can add an FA Cup to those triumphs, becoming one of only 14 clubs to complete the 'Big Three' of English football trophies.

There are plenty of ways to follow and support the Foxes – go to a match, take a tour of King Power Stadium or meet Filbert Fox at events across the city! Tickets for matches are very rare, and the club are in the process of planning an expansion of the stadium to 40,000 capacity. If you want to take a tour of the King Power Stadium, just email [email protected] .

King Power Stadium

King Power Stadium

Club: Leicester City FC | Opening: 2002 | Capacity: 32,312 seats

History and description

Leicester City first presented plans to replace the aged Filbert Street ground in the mid 1990s, but it took until 2000 for the final plans to get unveiled. Construction of the new stadium started in 2001 and works finished in time for the start of the 2002-03 season.

The King Power Stadium, then still called Walkers Stadium, officially opened on 23 July 2002. The first match at the stadium, a friendly between Leicester and Athletic Club de Bilbao (1-1), was played twelve days later.

In 2011, the stadium got renamed King Power Stadium after the company of the club’s new Thai owners.

How to get to the King Power Stadium

The King Power Stadium is located slightly more than 1 mile south of Leicester’s city centre and main rail station. The walk should not take more than half an hour. On the way you’ll pass the stadium of Rugby club Leicester Tigers.

Alternatively, Arrivabus 84, 84A and 85, Centrebus 302, or First Bus 88 connect the stadium with the city centre and rail station.

If arriving by car from either the M1 or M69, exit at junction 21 (where the M1 and M69 intersect). Follow the signs for the city centre via the A5460. After almost 3 miles turn right onto Upperton Road. From Upporton Road signs will guide you to the stadium.

Address: Filbert Way, Leicester, LE2 7FL

Eat, drink, and sleep near King Power Stadium

King Power Stadium is located on a retail park bordered by a residential area. While there is the odd pub around, it is not the most attractive area and most will drink in the city centre or nearer to the station.

If you wish to stay overnight close to the King Power Stadium, the Holiday Inn Express Leicester will surely be your pick as it stands right next to the stadium. Otherwise, there are the usual national chain hotels in Leicester’s city centre , which is at walking distance from the stadium.

Click here for an overview of hotels near King Power Stadium.

Tickets for Cat A matches, the most expensive, cost between £30.00 to £50.00.

Tours tend to run four times a day one or two Sundays a month. Tours cost £10.00.

I am an Aussie, born in Leicester and I have tried to get to a tour of filbert street (when used) and King Power stadium on many occasions when I visited over the last 20 years. As a city supporter, the last season can only be described as momentous, but unfortunately I didn’t get here until 2 weeks after celebrations. A recent check of the Kingpower website shows that there are stadium tours on (maybe) on 2 Sunday’s a month. Again I miss out because I am not here later in the month. Getting to see the stadium and appreciate the clubs history is one of the most frustrating things I have ever tried. Surely as the Premier league side there could be better arrangements for supporters to have a look and appreciate the club and its ground.

It’s about a 20 minute trek from the train station, head down waterloo way dipping down directly opposite the station, there are pubs around the morrisons if you take a left at the Tigers ground. Parking I would recommend freemans common industrial estate, although you can get caught for some time in the traffic, but the fees do go to charity. The same pubs are a short walk from here. If your shopping in the Highcross (definitely worth a visit)head across jubilee square (next to Leicester cathedral and the site of Richard the III grave) and round the holiday inn to the left, walk past castle park (site of the first British parliament) and join the canal by the bridge where Richard the III was dismounted on the way to the battle of Bosworth. It is a straight and pleasent walk to the King power (20 minutes)

Leicester City Stadium Tours: When Are They & How Much Do They Cost?

English football is home to many impressively modern stadiums, but few, if any, come with such a triumphant and tragic recent history as Leicester City’s King Power Stadium. First, there was the spinetingling sight and sound of Andrea Bocelli belting out Nessun Dorm to mark the most remarkable title success in the history of the Premier League in 2016. Then came the heartbreaking helicopter crash just two years later, which devastatingly took Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha way before his time. It’s fair to say that the King Power has already experienced the full spectrum of emotions despite only opening in 2002.

As the former club owner and the man responsible for the building of the King Power Stadium, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha is suitably remembered, with both a Memorial Garden and a statue located in the vicinity of the ground. Given that history of glory and pain, it is no surprise that a visit to the King Power Stadium features on the to-do list of many Leicester City supporters and football fans in general. Of course, thousands of Foxes fans fill the stands on match day, but the view from the seats to the pitch reveals only a fraction of what this exceptional facility has to offer.

For the complete experience – including a glimpse into the exclusive player areas, changing rooms and dugout – a full stadium tour is in order. Thankfully, those good folks at Leicester City are only too happy to oblige, with tours scheduled throughout the year. Here, we look at what is on offer as part of your stroll through the home of the Foxes, when tours take place, prices, and more.

Stadium Tour Itinerary

Tours commence at the Player’s Entrance to the King Power Stadium. Leicester City provide a friendly guide to act as your tour host and take you around the following areas.

  • Players Lounge – Curious about where Jamie Vardy and co hang out when not receiving their instructions in the changing room or strutting their stuff out on the pitch? Now’s your chance to find out.
  • Reception Area – Next stop, the impressive glass-fronted reception area, complete with memorabilia from the triumphant 2015/16 campaign and subsequent Champions League adventure
  • Directors Lounge – Having seen where the players like to chill out, the third stop gives you the inside view of the exclusive Directors Lounge
  • Champions Club – One of the newest areas of the stadium, the Champions Club is the destination for those who like to do their match day in style. Combining a high-end dining experience with access to an attached area in the stands, the swish facility impressively blends the past and present of Leicester City.
  • LCFC TV Studio – Leicester City fans will no doubt be familiar with LCFC TV, thanks to the array of match highlights and interviews provided by the in-house broadcaster. This next leg gives you the chance to see where it all comes together.
  • Players Entrance – Make your entrance into the stadium in the style of Leicester City’s first team and Women’s side.
  • Press Room – Nigel Pearson, Claudio Ranieri, Enzo Maresca, and more have all fielded questions in this auditorium. You have probably seen it on the TV, now see it in real life.
  • Home & Away Changing Rooms – The excitement builds throughout the tour, with the final three legs being the most anticipated for the majority of fans. First up, the ultra-modern circular changing room. This is the site of the most influential team talks in the club’s recent history, and where all your heroes don that famous blue shirt.
  • Filbert Way Tunnel – Ever wondered what it feels like to walk down the tunnel ahead of a top-level football game? Wonder no more in the iconic Filbert Way Tunnel, complete with huge wall-mounted images of the Foxes’ finest moments.
  • Pitchside – Having made it down the tunnel, you are now where the real action takes place – within touching distance of the hallowed green turf. See the stadium as the players see it and recall your most memorable Foxes moments. And if the urge to channel your inner Ranieri proves too strong, why not take your seat in the dugout?
  • Foxes Fanstore – Tour complete, your guide will drop you off in the excellent club store. Pick up a replica shirt or souvenir to remember your visit.

Each tour lasts around 90 minutes – pretty fitting for a football-related experience.

Meet the Legends

Matt Elliott

The club provides an excellent guide to oversee most tours. However, things move up a notch with the special Legends Tours. Taking place regularly throughout the year, these Stadium Tours are led by one of the following three Leicester City heroes.

  • Gerry Taggart – Leicester’s King Power Stadium- Tough tackling Taggart racked up 117 appearances for Leicester between 1998 and 2004, winning the League Cup in 2000, suffering relegation in 2002, but remaining with the side to regain their Premier League status at the first time of asking.
  • Matt Elliott – The hero of that 2000 League Cup final was Taggart’s defensive partner, Matt Elliott. Powering a header in off the bar in the 29th minute, Elliott then glanced in another nine minutes from time to hand the Foxes the trophy. All told, Elliott made 245 appearances for the Foxes between 1997 and 2005.
  • Steve Walsh – Beginning life as a centre forward under Brian Little, former club captain Walsh is best remembered for his steely presence at the heart of the Foxes defence. Hitting 62 goals in 449 appearances, he lifted the League Cup in 1997 and picked up a second winners medal in that competition in 2000.

When Do Tours Take Place?

Standard stadium tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays, with most months seeing 1-3 weekends set aside for tours. The following four start times are available: 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. Legends tours are usually held on the final Thursday of the month. Those attending are advised to arrive around 30 minutes before the advertised start time. See the official Leicester City site for all the latest dates.

  • Updated 17:21, 8 MAY 2024

Bursting with pride... Leicester City fans are caught in a starburst picture of the champions' open-top bus parade.

Leicester City are Championship champions and the celebrations continued this afternoon.

City confirmed their place at the top of the table with a 3-0 win over Preston North End at Deepdale on Monday night , that sparked scenes of celebration among the 5,700 travelling fans. They returned to the King Power Stadium on Saturday as they took on Blackburn Rovers, where the players and staff had the chance to get their hands on the trophy for the first time in front of a sell-out crowd.

The party continued on Sunday with an open top bus tour of the city where fans got to witness the squad, including Jamie Vardy and manager Enzo Maresca , parade the silverware. The celebrations marked City becoming the first club to win the second tier of English football eight times, overtaking Manchester City.

It also marked a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking following last year's relegation. After the bus tour the players headed out onto the balcony at Haymarket to lift the trophy again.

It was another memorable occasion, as were the celebrations of 2014 and 2016. This is how the day unfolded - and remember to relive it in the Mercury on Monday.

What an afternoon

Amie Wilson joined the city centre throng for today's parade and loved every minute of it.

She's written a lovely piece about the afternoon.

"The clock tower is one of the iconic places in the centre of the wonderful city of Leicester, so where better to have the latest party? "For the third time in the last ten years (it would have been four if it wasn’t for Covid meaning that one for the FA Cup wasn’t possible), the city came together to celebrate the latest achievement of its football club. "Just one year after the disappointment of relegation, Leicester City fans deserve to celebrate what has been a memorable season under Enzo Maresca . And they certainly did that."

King Power Stadium: The Home of Leicester City – A Friendly Tour

posted on November 11th 2023 by Charmaine Cortes // last updated on November 11th 2023

King Power Stadium, located in Leicester, East Midlands of England, stands as the iconic home of Leicester City Football Club. Since its construction in 2002, the stadium has been a symbol of pride for both the city and its football fans. With its ability to accommodate 32,312 spectators, the stadium is an essential part of the city’s sporting landscape.

The stadium bears witness to the remarkable journey of the Foxes as they rose to international acclaim by becoming English champions in 2016, a feat that took the footballing world by surprise. King Power Stadium’s atmosphere is credited with playing an integral part in this achievement, as the passionate fans come together to support their team.

Recently, plans have been underway to expand the stadium’s capacity to 40,000, with the consultation process taking place during August and September, ultimately aiming to accommodate even more fans and further develop the area surrounding the venue. The King Power Stadium continues to be a vital part of Leicester City’s story and the city’s sporting heritage.

The King Power Stadium, located in Leicester, East Midlands of England, is the iconic home of Leicester City Football Club. With a seating capacity of 32,262, this all-seater stadium has been the club’s home since 2002, replacing their previous home at Filbert Street.

In the early 1990s, following the Taylor Report’s requirement for all clubs in the top two divisions to have all-seater stadiums, Leicester City’s directors considered building a new stadium. The project came to fruition in 2000 when construction began on the ambitious stadium. By the summer of 2002, the King Power Stadium was completed on time, just as Leicester City were unfortunately relegated from the Premier League and facing debts of over £30 million.

Leicester City fans fondly remember the historic 2015-2016 season when their team defied the odds to lift the Premier League title at the King Power Stadium—an achievement that will forever be etched in the annals of English football. The stadium has also welcomed the Leicester City Women’s team since 2021, further solidifying its position as a central part of the club’s history and future.

However, tragedy struck the King Power Stadium on 27th October 2018 when a helicopter carrying the club’s owner, Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and four other passengers crashed shortly after taking off from the stadium. In memory of those who lost their lives, a beautiful memorial garden has been established at the stadium.

As Leicester City continues to grow and compete at the highest level, the club has recently conducted a consultation process to expand the King Power Stadium’s capacity to 40,000 and develop the surrounding area. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the King Power Stadium for both players and fans alike.

The King Power Stadium, home to Leicester City Football Club, boasts several noteworthy architectural features that ensure an enjoyable experience for spectators and players alike.

Field Dimensions

As a standard-sized football pitch, the King Power Stadium adheres to the regulations laid out by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). With a grass surface, the pitch provides an excellent playing environment for both Leicester City and visiting teams.

Overall, King Power Stadium provides a modern and comfortable space for fans to soak in the atmosphere and for players to showcase their skills on the field.

This achievement brought a sense of pride to the community and contributed to an increased interest in local football programmes, nurturing aspiring young athletes.

In conclusion, the presence of King Power Stadium in Leicester City has made a substantial difference in the community. Its economic benefits and opportunities for engagement contribute to a sense of unity, pride, and progress in the city.

A major component of the expansion plan includes significant developments to the surrounding areas. These additions aim to further energise and enrich the stadium’s environs, making it an even more attractive destination for supporters, tourists, and the local community.

The approval of these plans by local councillors marks an exciting new chapter in the club’s growth. Leicester City is well aware of the importance of engaging the community when it comes to stadium development, and has endeavoured to provide its fans with both the information and the opportunity to influence planning submissions.
