Louer votre kayak aux Cinque Terre

Au sein même des Cinque Terre, la location de kayak est possible à Monterosso et à Riomaggiore . Vous pourrez trouver des loueurs directement sur place, près des ports.

Voici les adresses de deux de ces deux loueurs et qui disposent également d’un site Internet (pratique pour la réservation !) :

Nous vous conseillons ainsi de réserver à l’avance pour être certains que des kayaks soient disponibles le jour souhaité.

Les gilets de sauvetage et tout le matériel nécessaire vous seront fournis. N’oubliez pas de demander si besoin un plan, pour bien vous repérer une fois en mer. Les instructeurs vous donneront également leurs conseils pour profiter au maximum de cette sortie !

Pour vous donner un ordre d’idée, les tarifs 2023 de location sur place sont les suivants (prix dégressifs en fonction du nombre d’heures souhaitées) :

• 20 € de l’heure / 80 € la journée pour un kayak double
• 10 € de l’heure / 50 € la journée pour un kayak simple

La location de kayak est possible toute la journée et, selon les loueurs, également en fin de journée pour profiter du coucher de soleil. Un moment magique au milieu de la mer !

Cette sortie en kayak vous permettra d’avoir un nouveau point de vue sur les villages. Vous pourrez aussi observer les grottes cachées, sous les falaises entourant les villages !

Des guides peuvent également vous accompagner, souvent à la journée, afin de vous faire découvrir leurs endroits favoris et de vous conter l’histoire des Cinque Terre.

Itinéraires possibles en kayak aux Cinque Terre

Il est tout à fait fait possible de relier les villages en kayak (à l’exception évidemment de Corniglia qui se trouve sur les hauteurs !). Voici les temps de trajets entre les différents villages . Il sont notés ici à titre indicatif car tout dépend de votre condition physique, des vents et des courants :

• Monterosso > Vernazza : 3 km / 45 minutes
• Vernazza > Corniglia (plage de Guvano) : 2 km / 30 minutes
• Corniglia > Manarola : 3,9 km / 1 heure
• Manarola > Riomaggiore : 1,5 km / 20 minutes

À noter que le débarquement est plus facile à Monterosso, Vernazza et sur la plage de Guvano. Les cales en béton des villages suivants rendent l’accès plus difficile.

Pour information, des bouées « interdit aux bateaux à moteurs » sont disposées en mer le long des falaises. Elles permettent de délimiter un accès sécurisé pour les baigneurs et les plongeurs. Vous pouvez naviguer en kayak dans ces zones. Soyez néanmoins prudents avec vos pagaies pour ne pas heurter les personnes en mer !

De plus, le parc national des Cinque Terre est entourée d’une zone maritime protégée. De fait, deux zones ne sont pas accessibles, que ce soit pour les baigneurs ou pour tous types d’embarcations (kayak inclus donc). Une amende peut vous être infligée en cas de non respect et de navigation dans ces aires de protection pour la faune et la flore locale. Ces deux zones protégées sont signalées par des bouées jaunes . Pour mieux vous situer, celles-ci se trouvent, en arrivant de Levanto, juste avant Monterosso ( Punta Mesco ) et juste après Riomaggiore ( Capo di Montenero ).

Petit conseil pour terminer : si vous n’avez jamais fait de kayak, préférez une location de 3 heures maximum (par exemple le temps de faire tranquillement l’aller-retour de Monterosso à Vernazza). La location à la journée est plutôt réservée aux habitués et bons sportifs !

Nous vous recommandons par ailleurs de vous renseigner directement auprès des centres de location pour savoir s’il est possible de louer un kayak à Monterosso puis de le rendre à Riomaggiore… ou inversement (nous n’avons malheureusement pas cette information).

For the eco-conscious outdoor adventurer… or those who want to be..

This curated, 1.5 hour kayaking tour is a great way to experience a different side of the Cinque Terre… and discover places only accessibly by sea. Kicking off from the charming port of Riomaggiore around 3:30pm, right away, you’ll experience the vast sea and indescribable beauty of the Marine Protected Area of the Cinque Terre.

We’ll first head north, where there’s the iconic via dell’Amore (currently closed for restoration). If the sea conditions permit,

We’ll enter into a small, secret cove that opens back out into the crystal clear ligurian sea. the water color here is ridiculously gorgeous..

After a few more strokes, we’ll arrive to Manarola, the second village of the Cinque Terre. Pull out your cameras, the views here are unreal.

After a brief explanation of the coastline, we’ll turn around and row back south, this time staying further out from the coast. When we’re back in front of Riomaggiore, have our guide take a photo of you. Then post it, and make your friends a tad jealous.

Geology fans (and non) will appreciate the next stop: a stalactite cave called, La Grotta di Pescecane.

You’ll explore stalactites in the shape of shark’s teeth, but here’s the highlight: you can dive into the water to reach a small beach inside the cave. you have to see it to believe it..

Leaving the cave and finding yourself back in the light of the Cinque Terre bay is truly living the vacationer’s dream. As we get back on our kayaks, keep working those arm muscles, as there’s another short stretch of rowing that’ll gets us to the natural pools of La Macrexia. Crystalline waters so beautiful, you won’t want to leave. After this swim stop, we’ll gently make our way back to Riomaggiore’s marina.

This is an easy course, so you don’t need to have kayaking experience and you don’t need to be super athletic either.

It will test your muscles, but in return, you get the rush of adventure and tons of fun — some of it under water.

All ages are welcome (Kids under 18 years old will need to be accompanied by an adult.) This itinerary is a guide only and is subject to change depending on the weather, sea conditions and the ability of the group.

Each kayak can sustain a maximum of 100kg. Although we have both doubles and single kayaks, the use of the single kayaks are recommended to be able to explore the caves. Life jackets, dry bags and snorkeling masks provided.

The kayak tour is a great option if you'd like to see the Cinque Terre coastline and some of the five villages from the sea, but instead of just sitting on a boat you are looking for a more active program. Get some exercise, have fun and enjoy the amazing scenery at the same time. This is one of the most popular outdoor experiences in this part of the Italian Riviera.

Morning kayak tour in the Cinque Terre National Park: a unique perspective for an exclusive experience. Starting from Monterosso you will paddle with your guide towards Vernazza and Corniglia. You will stop for a rest in Vernazza, where you can go for a swim in the colourful bay or have a light lunch.

• Available every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, all year.

Half day sunset kayak tour with aperitif

My own review: We joined the sunset kayak tour with aperitif in August 2019. I had tried sea kayaking a couple of times before, but I was pretty much a beginner back then. The sea was not quiet, there were some waves, but luckily the tour was not cancelled. As I am prone to sea sickness, I took my medication, and this way I had no problem because of the waves. After a good explanation by our guide, we started slowly paddling towards Vernazza. It was very pleasant and fun, and the afternoon lights were wonderful. In a few minutes we got used to the waves and really enjoyed kayaking on them. I was brave enough to even get my camera out of the dry bag and start taking photos. It was great to paddle between the big rocks at Monterosso. We had a small group of fun people from different countries, a family with children as well, kayaking seemed easy for everyone. After a while we stopped in a tiny bay, protected from the waves by huge rocks. You can reach this cove only by sea and there was nobody else around. A great way to avoid the crowds. Our guide opened a bottle of local wine and also offerred a big plate of delicious focaccia. The water was really warm, so we were sitting in the water with wine in one hand and focaccia in the other. What an amazing experience! We stayed there quite long just relaxing, chatting and enjoying the place. With new energies we started paddling back, it was very relaxing and easy. After the tour we went for another swim on the beach of Monterosso, and enjoyed the gorgeous late afternoon lights. This is a truly wonderful kayak tour. My clients have been sending me great reviews about it for years, so I was so happy to finally try the tour myself. It's easy, so you can do it even if you have no or little experience kayaking, and also with children (10+) who can swim.

Our kayak trip was excellent-Angelo was a terrific tour guide and took us to places that we would never have seen. He showed us sea caves, taught us about the local species of sea anemones (sea tomatoes!) and jellyfish, took us snorkeling and rock jumping. It was a truly wonderful experience and a beautiful way to see the towns. Our accommodations were perfect, we had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a giant wrap around balcony and expansive ocean views. Everyone was so kind and it was so clean. We cooked, did laundry and enjoyed the views from every room. We loved this tour, it was the perfect way to see the beautiful Cinque Terre coast. Our guide Luca met us in Monterosso and kitted us out with everything we needed, we were given a short safety briefing and then we were on our way! We were all beginners but didn't struggle at all to get used to our double kayaks. We kayaked past Monterosso with Luca telling us about the landscape and history of the area before stopping off to rest on some cliffs (complete with a waterfall) to share some local focaccia and wine, then (sadly) it was time to head for home. Our kayak trips  are usually suitable even for beginners and for families (minimum age 6 years under parental control). Nevertheless some trips could request basic paddling experiences: the level of difficulty will always be defined and communicated in advance. Please consider that a rather good physical condition is always requested for this outdoor activity.

Food for a light meal is provided during the trip. We can also try to handle particular food requests once informed in advance, but if substitutions may not be locally available we may ask you to provide your own food.

Every tour begins with a quick tips lesson so everyone will be able to enjoy the experience!

Our kayaks are very stable , easy to be handled, and unsinkable!!!

What equipment I need?

Shorts or swimsuit and flip-flops are all you need!

We'll provide kayak, paddle, life jacket, and waterproof bags for your belongings.
