Awesome. On the studio tour you get up close to the magic of the films and the impressive filming process itself. Each part of the tour more impressive than the last. The gringotts set is breath taking. Seeing the Hogwarts Express took me back to my childhood. Just fantastic. Theres a canteen half way round which is average but fine. Everything else, epic. Then later, the 2 course lunch was tasty, in a hotel so lovely, we booked a room, for that night! Hotel staff were amazing. Overall, 10/10 👏

my 8 year old harry potter mad daughter loved it not sure what i was expecting but the studio balanced out the whole experience beautifully the staff are amazing , very informative and helpful we did the tour in three and a half hours but could have taken longer if we didn't have to be at the afternoon tea a few miles down the road the afternoon tea again the staff were very friendly ,and very helpful . the tea was massive we couldn't manage it all , so ended up with a carryout box

A must for any fan of Only Fools & Horses! Our guide Bill was great and we met the other guide Steve seemed equally good too! There’s roughly nine stops with a comfort break by the Theatre. I would say don’t drink too much beforehand though! Really fascinating and knowledgeable with clips shown onboard and great pictures to show you at the stops. I won’t spoil it but go and enjoy!

This was booked for us by our grandkids, got a bit confusing when I had to change dates and had to go through britmovietours and when we did the tour it was with a company called Walking Tours of Oxford. If had known would have booked direct. The tour and tour guide were just brilliant and would recommend them to anyone our guide was informative and obviously enjoyed her job we also were connected with a sound system so didn't miss a word, not all companies use this. Great day.

The Kelvin Hall production hub

BBC Studioworks has launched a new purpose-built studio in landmark Glasgow building Kelvin Hall. The studio is in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, with Kelvingrove Park and Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum close by. The new studios have repurposed a derelict section of a historically important building, bringing yet more vibrance to this bustling area of Glasgow. Studioworks have equipped Kelvin Hall with high tech equipment to ensure the best quality picture and sound quality. The sound and lighting galleries are the largest that BBC Studioworks has built. It is packed with features to help keep production teams, the talent, crew and audiences comfortable.

Already home to quiz show, Bridge of Lies, hosted by Ross Kemp, further productions are due to be announced.

Why commission a TV Studio virtual tour?

A TV studio virtual tour brings the surroundings to life in a way that traditional stills alone cannot. The user can explore a full 360 degrees around the space at their own pace.

The high resolution of the 360 photography means viewers can zoom right in to see the details. Whether that’s for a closer look at a lighting rig or sound desk, or just to see how comfy the chairs in the green room really look!

The tour aims to attract new productions to Glasgow, allowing producers to gain a good picture of the surroundings & facilities. Our bespoke interface serves additional information to the user within the 360 at the relevant time. For example, a user visits the sound room. Here, they can click on an info point allowing them to view an equipment list.

A new film and TV studio funded via a portion of a £24M ($30M) government investment has become the latest to launch in the UK.

Stirling Studios will generate more than 4,000 jobs across several industries in 25 years, according to an independent economic impact assessment. The founders are calling Stirling “among the biggest film studio campuses in Scotland.”

Rather than demolishing and clearing all of the existing buildings on the land as previously intended, some will be retained and refurbished for the studio. There is currently 100,000 sq ft of studio space and 110,000 sq ft for production, logistics and office space at the site and the studio will use the space to fill current gaps in the market for TV and film production, Stirling Council said.

“The UK Government is committed to making sure that Scotland and the wider UK remains an attractive location for film and high-end TV productions,” said UK Government Minister for Scotland John Lamont. “That is why we have supported our world-leading creative industries with £1 billion in tax reliefs. In total we are investing £72 million in levelling up Stirling and Clackmannanshire and more than £3 billion across Scotland.”

The studio is one of a number announced in recent months including Fulwell 73’s £450M Crown Works in the north east of England. Productions from both the U.S. and UK have been rushing back following the end of the Hollywood labor strikes and the local industry looks set for a further boon with the introduction of the 40% indie film tax credit.

From renowned classics like The Wizard of Oz and Chicago to more recent hits like Dear Evan Hansen, many shows are making their way across the country on tour.

This recent upswing in travelling musicals can only be considered a good thing as, instead of spending your weekends buying expensive train tickets into town, you can find a top quality West End show right on your doorstep.
