Priyadarshini Park and Sports Complex is a clean and well-maintained sea-facing attraction in South Mumbai. Located in one of the sophisticated localities, this Napeansea Road park overlooks many expensive apartments on the street. Every nook and corner of this 20 acres land has now become a powerhouse to keep the heart of Mumbai pumping. For more than 3 decades, this wonderland has served as a recreational site, and sports and fitness complex. Visit here early in the morning to witness the magic of this refuge for the inhabitants of Mumbai. Also, Mumbaikars do not forget to visit here in the early monsoons to sit on its sea-facing end and seek a delight with the sound of soothing waves. Once, this piece of land was merely a rocky patch of the coastal area of Malabar. What you see today is a gorgeous lush green garden lined up with a total of 600+ coconut trees. With a perfect and well-maintained ambiance, this park is a boon for early morning yoga, jogging, walking, aerobics, and so on. The credit, of course, goes to its active group – the Malabar Hill Citizen Forum, who looks after it as its own child. You can connect with their authorities to be an annual member of the plethora of recreational sports activities that they organize. In addition to pumping the adrenaline of youth with its recreational touch, Priyadarshini Park of Mumbai also serves as an ideal family outing location and a lover’s point. If you are fortunate enough, you may even witness little squirrels accompanying you here for some pleasing views.

Whenever you are visiting Mumbai, Babulnath Shiva temple is a must-visit for inner peace and tranquillity. It is one of the oldest temples in Mumbai, which increases its importance in the eyes of the loyal devotees. Its walls are specially carved with limestone that depicts the Hindu mythology, which travellers find it exciting at the first look. At this temple, the beautiful marble flooring is specially brought down from Rajasthan. Thus, each step you take inside this temple feels royal and enchanting along with the daily devotees you can meet and greet, dressed in Indian attires. So, every moment spent in this temple is blissful with internal peace and devotion. Moreover, you can witness devotees from different corners of the world who love to pay their tribute to Lord Shiva and other idols.Once you enter the holy temple revered by so many Hindus and locals, you can find sculptures and idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, and Nandi with Kashyap. We would also advise you to buy a basket outside the temple steps before entering. This basket will bring joy, happiness and fulfil all your wishes once you pay your heartfelt worship to Shiva and other lords like Durga Mata and Goddess Parvati at the centre of this temple. If you have any doubts regarding the same, you can always ask devotees around you or the priest to know how to get the prayer done with the basket that you buy.On the other hand, idols of Goddess Parvati and Durga Mata are respectfully placed in the centre of this temple. What’s even more special about this temple is that around 4 times a day, prayers for Lord Shiva are recited here. This temple gets approximately a lakh devotees for Darshan during the Mahashivratri. The whole scenario is a sight to behold and capture in your hearts to narrate stories about back home.

Kharghar Hills
Stunning tourist attraction
The hills of Kharghar are always a pleasant sight to see, and they provide the ideal backdrop for a daily hike in the great outdoors. The Kharghar Hills are one of the city's top attractions, and they're only three kilometres from the Mumbai-Pune motorway.
Suggested Duration - 4 to 5 hours
What To Expect?
Kharghar's sunrises and sunsets are spectacular since the city is situated between two natural features: the hills to the east and the Arabian Sea to the west. In addition to the walking track for leisurely strolls, these hills are also quite popular with bird watchers. Also, it's no secret that the golf course in Kharghar is one of the city's most popular attractions.
- This tourist destination is accessible for 24 hours.
- Visit early in the morning to avoid crowds.
Exploring a destination...
The joy of travel comes in exploring new things. Planting your feet somewhere you’ve never been before brings with it the rush of discovery and the joy of pushing back on the boundaries of your world.
But when one does arrive at that fresh frontier, there are ways better than others to begin your journey of discovery. Follow these steps and see the world with a new light.
• Discover a new city through a food tour. Food tour’s are the easiest way to take a tour, learn about the local delicacies, and the best of all, get great tips that aren’t just “local” tips for tourists, but sometimes, lessons for a lifetime too
• Use Public Transportation. When you are in a new city, you can possibly see places and people that you wouldn’t normally see when simply walking to the places that checks your list. Some buses or rails take you to parts of the city you wouldn’t get to see otherwise. Whilst using public transportation, just ensure that you are following the local norms and do remember to watch the locals!
• Find a local festival. Go beyond what other tourists might do while visiting a place. Look for the unique things you would want to do. Use social media or the local tourism website to find out what’s going on locally. You may have to move out of the center of the city to do some of the less popular but more unique things, so just keep that in mind!

Awesome monsoon Trek in Kharghar hills Navi Mumbai
Wondering where to take a light monsoon trek in Navi Mumbai? Searching for places to visit near Kharghar or simple and a long road to walk amidst the hills and greens? Then you will find an awesome location in Navi Mumbai, called the Kharghar Hills. In this article, you can read about the details of this location, how to reach and what to see there. Read about our enjoyable experience in Kharghar hills Navi Mumbai and it may motivate you to take this awesome monsoon trek.
How to reach Kharghar Hills
Navi mumbai and kharghar, things to do.
- Morning or evening walks and jogs: Typically locals take morning and evening walks or run on the long winding roads in these hills. If you are practising for the Marathons then this is an apt place.
- Trek or hike: Visitors can trek all the way to Fanaswadi, the last village where the road ends. From there on your left, you can see benches and viewpoint on the top of the hill. These are maintained by the Forest Department. Start the climb, it takes about 20 minutes. You will reach the top of the hill, and believe me: this is one of the most wonderful views of your lifetime. On all your sides you will see the lush green hilltops, and a little farther beyond the hills and below: tall buildings of the Kharghar, Nerul , Turbhe and other parts of Navi Mumbai. The view is breathtaking!
- Dip in the Waterfall: If it rains heavily, then you will find small rivulets gushing down water from the stone peaks along the way. There is one big waterfall, and you can enjoy sitting and getting wet in the fast flowing water.
- Selfies to your heart's content: The hillsides, the view below from various angles, the view of the other hills, the village are all idyllic selfie backgrounds. Take selfies and post on Whatsapp, facebook, Instagram and other social media.
- Forest Department viewpoint: enjoy a picnic on the hilltop on the few benches with wooden roof viewpoints. These looked very new and were recently built.
- Walk in the woods: halfway in the climb you can take a straight mud pathway, a slight climb to the adjacent hills. Soon you will be among the woods and see some other parts of Navi Mumbai below.
Things to remember
Hey is it possible to camp there overnight? If so, will I have to get any permission?
Thank you for providing us with the details of the trek. Can one visit these Kharghar hills during winter? Say in Feb? Or is it only worth to visit in monsoon? Also, is the waterfall throughout the year or just in monsoon?
