Day 1 Catch Vidarbha Express – 7.05 PM : CSMT – 7.17 PM : Dadar

Day 2 Will reach 7:15 AM at Wardha Station. Will take Bus and reach Chandrapur (3 Hours drive). Check in & Time to freshen up.  After lunch we will proceed to 1st project of our trip, Somnath Project. After Sightseeing return to hotel

Day 3 Start early in the morning and Proceed to Hemalkasa. Entire day spend at hemalkasa Project. Return back to Hotel.

Day 4 Today we will take jungle Safari at Tadoba & after lunch visit Anandwan Project.

Day 5 Early Checkout and proceed to Chandrapur station will catch (BPQ Ltt special 1.57 PM )  Train from Chandrapur

Day 6 We will reach Mumbai ( LTT at 5.30 AM ) with Memories for lifetime

THINGS TO CARRY

• Carry a photo identity proof which you have given us for train and safari bookings – Passport, Adhaar Card, driver’s license etc. • A water bottle which can be refilled too • It will be cold during our stay on all 3 nights. In November the day temperatures range from 20ºC -29ºC while night temperatures drop to between 3ºC -10ºC. So, please carry enough winter wear - Sweaters, woollen cap, gloves and a muffler. Thermals or inners would be a good idea too. • Also, there are chances of intermittent rains, hence carry a raincoat or an umbrella. • We suggest that you wear Earth colored or dark clothes while on safari. Avoid bright colours and perfumes. • Carry sun protection - Sun glasses, caps, sun screen as the afternoon/evening safaris might get warm and sunny • We will have a basic medical kit, but if you require a particular type of medicine which suits your body then we suggest that you carry them. • Carry a mosquito repelling ointment or gel if you are prone to insect bites. • Binoculars if you own a pair • Sports or walking shoes along with Torch. • Some snacks for everyone to share.

Anandvan - Hemalkasa

• Information

Anandwan literally, Forest of happiness, located around 5 kilometers from Warora in Chandrapur district in state of Maharashtra India, is an ashram &

community rehabilitation centre which was mainly started for leprosy patients and he disabled from downtrodden sections of society.It was founded in 1952 by noted social activist Baba Amte. The project is run by the organisation Maharogi Seva Samiti. Two of its other projects are Lok biradri prakalp & Somnath a village for cured leprosy

patients. Baba Amte also shaped Anandwan as an environmentally aware community to practice energy utilization, waste recycling and minimizing use of natural resources that might otherwise lead to their depletion. Anandwan today has two hospitals, a college, an orphanage, a school for the blind, a school for the deaf and a technical wing. Dr. Vikas Amte Baba Amte’s elder son, is the chief functionary at Anandwan. He undertook various experiments in Anandwan regarding rehabilitation which have been mentioned in a book titled ‘Anandwan Prayogwan’

Myself Tejashree kamble , travelling first time with kokan parytan team. I must say it was a paisa vayssol trip for me. Arrangments was very good and food was very awesome and homely. Tour manger sudesh tambe very calm and paitence.

We were group of 55 peoples. Konkan paryatan ( Mr.Mulik sir) took care of each and everyone.Hotel was good 150 mtrs away from beautyfull tarkarli sea. Food was tasty, except lunch served at gajanan annexe on 2nd day of our tour.

We all had a lots of dhamal and Masti time on our Konkan Paryatan tour Best of Konkan. It is a perfect mix of beaches, food, temples,water games and shopping. The hotel rooms were clean and comfortable with nice view also.

We have done Best of kokan tour from 19th apr to 24 apr 2023 , we had wornderful time during this tour. In the beginning sweets were distributed, All hotels were good with amazing food.

Day 1 Reporting and Depart Wardha

Evening 04:30 PM Reporting at Pune Railway Station to Start our Journey from Pune Railway Station to Wardha followed. Full Night Train Journey.

Day 2 Arrival at Wardha, visit Sevagram, Pavnar and Anandwan

At 9:30 AM, students will arrive at Wardha Railway Station and depart for Sevagram. Upon arrival, they will freshen up at Sevagram Ashram before visiting the Pawanar Ashrams. Next, we will explore Acharya Vinoba Bhave Ashram. The day will culminate with a journey to Anandvan for dinner and an overnight stay, where students will reflect on the day’s enriching experiences.

Day 3 Depart Hemalkasa

At 6:00 AM, students will freshen up, check out, and depart for Hemalkasa. Breakfast will be served en route. Upon arrival, they will enjoy lunch before visiting the Lok Biradari Prakalp and interacting with the local community of Hemalkasa. In the evening, students will spend time engaging with the locals, gaining deeper insights into their way of life. After dinner, they will stay overnight at Hemalkasa, reflecting on their meaningful experiences of the day.

Day 4 Visit Hemalkasa & Depart Tadoba

During the tour, students will have the exceptional opportunity to visit and interact with Dr. Prakash Amte, a renowned figure in social work and animal conservation. As part of this visit, they will explore Dr. Amte’s personal pet gallery, where they can observe and learn about the diverse range of animals that Dr. Amte and his family care for. This experience will offer students a unique glimpse into the compassionate and hands-on approach of one of India’s most dedicated conservationists. Through engaging discussions and personal stories, students will gain deeper insights into the importance of empathy, animal welfare, and the significant impact of individual efforts in fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and wildlife. Post Lunch depart to Tadoba for Dinner & Overnight Stay.

Day 5 Tadoba Jungle Safari and Drop at Chandrapur

The Tadoba morning jungle safari promises an exhilarating start to the day, offering students a chance to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and rich biodiversity of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. As the sun rises, students will embark on a thrilling adventure through the lush forests and open meadows, spotting majestic tigers, vibrant bird species, and a variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. This immersive experience will not only enhance their appreciation for wildlife conservation but also provide a deeper understanding of the delicate balance within our ecosystems. Post lunch Drop at Chandrapur Railway Station to Catch our Train To Pune.

Day 6 Arrival at Pune

Upon returning from the Anandwari Tour, students will bring home cherished memories and invaluable experiences. The journey, highlighted by the exhilarating Tadoba jungle safari, has provided them with a unique glimpse into both the vibrant wildlife and the remarkable social initiatives of the region. This immersive adventure has not only enriched their understanding of conservation and community development but also offered them a lifetime of stories and lessons about the interconnectedness of nature and human impact.

The Lok Biradari Prakalp (LBP) was started on 23rd December 1973 by Baba Amte for the integrated development of the primitive tribe 'Madia-Gonds' in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. The 'Madia-Gond' tribe lives in remote parts of the district, deep in the forests. Apart from the dangers of living in the wild, where animal attacks are very common, malaria and cholera epidemics were also a frequent occurrence. The Madia-Gonds did not have access to basic healthcare facilities which made the situation even worse.

Dr. Prakash Amte and his wife Dr. Mandakini Amte volunteered to work among the Madias. Gradually building trust with the tribe and providing free healthcare assistance and basic education to their children, Lok Biradari Prakalp has come a long way. Today, with a multi-speciality hospital, a hostel school which has created engineers and doctors and livelihood opportunities for the tribes, LBP has got the Madia-Gonds into the mainstream.

Dr. Prakash Amte saved the wild animals from man’s cruelty by starting the ‘Animal Ark’, an animal orphanage that started with an orphaned baby monkey and has now blossomed into a home for leopards, snakes, hyenas. At one point the shelter also had a lion.

For their efforts for the Madia-Gonds, Dr. Prakash Amte and Dr. Mandakini Amte were honoured with the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2008. We will continue to work towards successfully implementing all our initiatives and developing and creating new ways to improve lives!

Hemalkasa - Ek Safar

The story inspired from life of Dr. Prakash Amte. When movie on Dr. Prakash Mate got released in market I was one them who got inspired. My project topic was social field and I also got sponsorship from college. My whole journey was memorable and I stored it in to my diary as "Hemalkasa-Ek Safar". First time I wrote my experience of journey as I am passionate about travelling. Living there 8 days was like living for month and that too within Nature. 

I am Designer but more than that a Creative person.I definitely recommend to everyone to write their amazing experience of journeys that people will love to read

As a Product Designer I took topic to Design school bags by recycling the old once. As I know the social worker Dr. Prakash Amte, I met him pune and discussed the project and he invited me there to do user study. So I went Hemalkasa to do the user on their school students. They were good in eco and sustainable products. I captured most precious moments over there which changed my way of thinking. Also as part of daily routine I was going to Triveni sangam as part of exploration. I captured the best scenario over there. The people cast is"Madia" a tribe. They are poor but nice by heart. Their needs are very limited. They are happy with what they have. Even they proud to say that their childrens are doing job in Pune or Mumbai. It's like abroad for them.

Hemalkasa is near Chadrapur, well known for social worker "Prakash Baba Amte". As Prakash Amte and his wife Mandakini Amte are both Doctor professionally. They came in 70s here and lived here to understand and solve the problem of tribes. Dr. Prakash Amte also created benchmark through their animal orphanage. Their animal park almost contains all types of animals and most of them are pets. They wrote books on their stories too. Their Tribal students are learning the creative arts as part of their study. I learned a lot from tribal students in terms of discipline, work and study. They lived in more practical world than us like they shows the importance of Nature through their culture and programs and education.

On 27 May 2019, Sadhana Vidyalaya was inaugurated at Jinjgaon, which is located at about 25 km from Lok Biradari Prakalp. Right now, it has balwadi and first standard classes. 54 admissions are done. But, very soon in the future, it will grow up into an education complex which would have classes upto tenth standard and would provide vocational training in various streams as well as would have a robust education infrastructure.

Offbeat Tour to Anandwan – Shodhgram – Hemalkasa

Trip Overview

Anandwan  – was founded in 1948 by  Baba Amte  to care for the outcast leprosy patients. He developed it into a self-reliant community relying on agriculture, home-based small scale industry units—all run by leprosy patients who have recovered/recovering from their illness. Residents stay as communes, where a cluster of people live together and share resources. There are around seven communes now with over 2,500 people live, making it one of the world’s largest communities of physically challenged people. A community that is bonded by care and love for each other!

Hemalkasa (Lok Biradari Prakalp)   – A People’s Brotherhood Program started by Dr. Prakash Baba Amte revolutionize The Madia Gond Tribe. The Madia Gond is a primitive tribe inhabiting the Dandakaranya forests in the Central Eastern part of Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. A phenomenal race, the tribes have been in existence for centuries. However, this gentle race was completely cut-off from civilization, knowing no clothing, education or health care until Lok Biradari Prakalp was established.  A comprehensive program inclusive of a Hospital, School, Hostel, Animal Arc & allied activities made this unique program now followed worldwide as a role model program. We will also be visiting the places like Markandeya Temple, Big Log of Ballarpur & Tomb of Gond Kings in Chandrapur.

SEARCH (Shodhgram)  –  Society for Education, Action and Research in Community Health  is a non-government founded in 1985 by a doctor couple, Mr. & Mrs. Bang.

Dr. Abhay  and Dr. Rani Bang are Indian social activists, researchers working in the field of community health. They have revolutionized healthcare for the poorest people in India and have overseen a program that has substantially reduced infant mortality rates in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, one of the most poverty-stricken areas in the world. Their Home Based Neonatal Care program is adopted Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and parts of Africa.

Day 1: Saturday

• Arrival at Nagpur Railway Station at 09:30 am.
• Mumbai people can opt for Vidarbha Express / Duranto Express
• Mumbai people can also opt for Sewagram Express. The pickup will be from Warora.
• Pune People can opt for Garib Rath Express or Buses.
• Breakfast & Start our Journey to for Anandwan.
• Reach Anandwan. Check in & Lunch.
• Post Lunch visit various workshops.
• Samadhi Darshan of Baba Amte and Sadhana Amte in the evening
• Visit Dr. Vikas Amte (Depending upon the availability)

Day 2 : Sunday

• Break Fast & Checkout
• Proceed towards SEARCH (Shodhgram)
• Check in. Visit project
• Meet Dr. Bang (Depending upon the availability)
• Dinner & Stay

Day 3 : Monday

• Breakfast & Checkout
• Proceed towards Hemalkasa
• Visit Markandeya Temple on the way
• Reach Hemalkasa in Afternoon
• Check in & Lunch
• Hemalkasa Prakalp Visit
• Triveni Sangam Visit

Day 4: Tuesday

• Hemalkasa Amte’s Animal Arc Visit
• Proceed towards Nagpur
• Visit Big Log, Tomb of Gond Kings on the way.
• Lunch Enroute
• Reach Nagpur by 06:00 pm
• Tour Concludes with Happy Memories.
