Northwich CBT training

Taking your CBT training in Northwich is easier than ever before. Here at RideTo we want to get you on two wheels in a fun and safe experience, whether you are wanting to get your full motorbike licence to experience the freedom of an unrestricted licence or looking for a 125cc motorcycle to pop to the shops on.

It is a legal requirement to undertake the Compulsory Basic Training in order to ride a motorcycle in the UK, during the training you will learn the basics to keep you safe and confident when riding the local roads.

What is a CBT test?

The CBT is a 6-8 hour basic training course that is split into 5 parts.

• A - Safety introduction and a 20.5 meter eye test
• B - On site CBT training - introducing you to the controls and theory behind using your bike.
• C - On site CBT riding - riding slowly and safely in a controlled traffic free environment.
• D - On road CBT training - a quick refresher on the highway code and the laws to make sure you know which sign means stop!
• E - On road riding - At least 2 hours of you riding a scooter or motorcycle with an instructor assessing your skills.

As long as you complete all 5 of these parts safely, you will be given a CBT certificate on the day. This is used with your existing provisional or full driving licence to allow you to ride a motorcycle up to 125cc on the roads.

What other motorbike tests can I take after the CBT test?

Your CBT doesn’t have to be the only training you take, at RideTo we have other motorcycle courses available such as the Gear Conversion Course, - ITM Training and Full Licence Training.

How much does a CBT cost ?

The training course itself costs between £130 and £150 around Northwich, the prices themselves are driven by overhead costs such as equipment, instructor prices and rent.
