This is the setlist from My Chemical Romance’s first UK show in 10 years

My Chemical Romance kicked off their long-awaited reunion tour in Cornwall on May 16 – here’s the incredible 20-song setlist.

IT FINALLY HAPPENED! Following several pandemic delays, My Chemical Romance began their long-awaited reunion tour in the UK on May 16.

The whole run has kickstarted with a two-night stint at Cornwall's spectacular Eden Project, which has a capacity of just 6,500 so is fairly intimate by Gerard Way and co.’s standards. And they brought a hell of a 20-song setlist for the occasion, opening with new single The Foundations Of Decay before going straight into the massive Helena.

As well as performing pretty much all the classics (really, the only single missing was I Don't Love You, which was on the setlist but wasn't played), the band gave Surrender The Night and Boy Division from their fan-favourite compilation album Conventional Weapons their live debut. Elsewhere, there were throwbacks (Our Lady Of Sorrows), awesome album cuts (This Is How I Disappear, You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, Sleep) and so much more…

My Chemical Romance Kick Off Reunion Tour with New Music, Rare Performances: Video + Setlist

Including the live debut of their new single, "The Foundations of Decay”

My Chemical Romance were finally free to proceed on their much-delayed reunion tour , making their first stop at the Eden Project in Cornwall, UK on Monday night (May 16th).

The band unloaded 21 tracks for a breakneck performance that covered every era of the esteemed emo group’s career with some unexpected deep cuts and long-awaited stage debuts. They wasted no time showing off their new tricks, kicking off the show with their comeback single and first released music in eight years, “The Foundations of Decay.”

As if the sound of new MCR wasn’t enough to pump up the audience, the band dove straight into the core of their catalog with “Helena.” The extensive setlist was full of hits (“Teenagers,” “Welcome to the Black Parade”) but also included plenty of surprises from the band’s under-sung later entries like 2010’s Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys and their last studio release, 2013’s Conventional Weapons compilation. The latter project got particular shine after two songs from the album, “Surrender the Night” and “Boy Division,” graced the stage for the first time.

Elsewhere, MCR showed they are truly marching toward world domination on this upcoming tour as they dusted off The Black Parade staple “This Is How I Disappear” for the first time since 2010.  But the biggest crowd-pleasers came during the band’s three-song encore, where they closed out with the anthemic “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” and the rousing send-off “The Kids from Yesterday.”

In total, My Chemical Romance will embark on 64 dates across Europe and North America in 2022 and Australia and New Zealand in March 2023. MCR also tops the roster for several festivals this summer including Las Vegas’ When We Were Young , Saramento’s Aftershock , Dover’s Firefly , Chicago’s Riot Fest , and Atlanta’s Music Midtown . They’ll be supported throughout the tour by the likes of Badflower, Devil Master, Dilly Dally, GHÖSH, Kimya Dawson, Meg Myers, Midtown, Nothing, Shannon and the Clams, Soul Glo, Surfbort, Taking Back Sunday, The Bouncing Souls, The Homeless Gospel Choir, The Lemon Twigs, Thursday, Turnstile, Waterparks, and Youth Code. Fall in line with The Black Parade via Ticketmaster .

We've all been waiting a long time for the return of My Chemical Romance- a reunion that's been further delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Last night they kicked off that much-anticipated tour at The Eden Project in England and they opened their 21-song setlist with the live debut of "Foundations of Decay," their first new song since 2014, released just days ago. Check out fan footage of the epic opening:

It's been over a decade since the band has played England - the last time was the Leeds Festival in 2011 - but that wasn't the only cause for celebration. They also live debuted "Surrender the Night" mid-set and "Boy Division" as part of the three-song encore. Both tracks are from the Conventional Weapons compilation, the last material they released before their hiatus in 2014. Take a look at those performances:

Fans were also happy to see The Black Parade 's "This is How I Disappear" included in the setlist for the first time since 2010. "Make Room!!!" was performed for the second time ever, the first being the LA reunion show in 2019 .

My Chemical Romance have rescheduled their trio of dates at Milton Keynes’ Stadium MK. Originally scheduled to take place this summer, the band will now make their return to the UK in June 2021.

The dates will see Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way and Frank Iero return to the UK stage, having played their first comeback show in Los Angeles last year.

Original tickets remain valid by day of the week. Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will be contacted by our Customer Services team with more information.

New Jersey formed rockers My Chemical Romance first burst onto the scene with their debut album  I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love  in 2002, growing a strong grassroots fanbase by simultaneously playing local shows and promoting their music on Myspace.

However, it would be the band’s sophomore album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge that took their career to stratospheric new heights. Featuring the crossover singles I’m Not Okay (I Promise) and Helena , the LP, alongside tours with bands such as Fall Out Boy and Green Day, helped transform the group from emo underdogs to fully-fledged arena rockers.

MCR followed the record with their highly ambitious 2006 rock opera, The Black Parade.  Their most commercially successful album to date, the album debuted at No.2 on both sides of the Atlantic and spawned the hit singles Teenagers , Famous Last Words and Welcome To The Black Parade , with the latter topping the Official UK Singles Chart.

The subsequent Welcome To The Black Parade tour saw the band headline stadiums across the globe, including London’s Wembley Stadium.

My Chemical Romance followed up The Black Parade  in 2010 with the album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, and after a few more years of touring announced their split in 2013.

Unknown to the public at the time, the band quietly reunited in 2017 and last Halloween sent fans into a frenzy by updating their social media channels, fuelling speculation that a reunion announcement was imminent.

The band confirmed their return the following day by announcing a show at The Shrine, Los Angeles, taking place on Friday 20 December of last year. Tickets went on sale later that day and sold out instantly.

Following an epic reunion show in Los Angeles in December 2019, My Chemical Romance will finally embark on on their long awaited return tour this year after multiple pandemic-related delays. The tour will kick off in Europe this May before eventually making its way to North America, and dates in New Zealand and Australia will then follow in 2023. Today, the band announced the supporting acts that will be joining them on various dates for the UK leg of the tour.

My Chemical Romance originally hails from Newark, New Jersey. Their debut album, I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, was released in 2002. The band would go on to change the face of the alternative rock scene in the years to come until they announced their breakup in March 2013.

My Chemical Romance have announced details of a headline UK show.

The group are reuniting in 2020 for a worldwide tour which stops off at Milton Keynes Stadium on June 20.

It comes after the group teased a UK based announcement on their social media.

They posted a picture alongside a caption containing the Union Jack flag, followed up by a video featuring the flag again alongside images including a castle.

Since their 2002 debut the band have released four studio albums and sold more than 16 million records worldwide.

Some of their biggest hits include 'Helena', 'I'm Not Okay (I Promise)', 'Famous Last Words', 'Teenagers' and number one single 'Welcome to the Black Parade'.

During their peak they headlined festivals including Download and Reading and Leeds as well as a sold-out UK arena tour.

They performed their first reunion show in Los Angeles in December 2019 before announcing dates in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

It marked their first show since 2012 and saw them play a 20-strong setlist of their back catalogue.

They go on general sale at 9:30am on Friday January 24 via ticketmaster.co.uk , AXS.com or seetickets.com.

This is the standard seating plan for the MK Stadium which includes a general admission standing section and a reserved seated section.

New Jersey rock band  My Chemical Romance have today announced an array of supports for their long awaited UK stadium tour this May.

The tour which is presented by SJM concerts and Paradigm will see the band play to over 160,000 fans across 8 shows, their first on our shores since headlining Reading & Leeds festival in 2011.

ABOUT MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE

Formed in New Jersey, the band independently released their debut album ‘I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love’ in 2002.   What followed, no one could have predicted.  2004’s major label debut ‘Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge’ changed the face of the alternative rock scene with their cult like following, electrifying live shows and a message to the outsiders that has never been lost.

2006 saw the release of concept album ‘The Black Parade’ which launched the band into the stratosphere of global domination and mainstream success.  2010 saw the release of their last full length album ‘Danger Days- The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys’ to critical acclaim and global touring.  Then in March 2013, the band decided to call it a day and My Chemical Romance was no more.

Fast forward to 2017, the band regrouped out of the public eye and December 2019 saw their return with an incredible live show in Los Angeles.

Jason Price founded the mighty Icon Vs. Icon more than a decade ago. Along the way, he’s assembled an amazing group of like-minded individuals to spread the word on some of the most unique people and projects on the pop culture landscape.

My Chemical Romance add Cardiff and Glasgow shows to UK tour dates

A stop-off in warrington next summer is also on the cards.

After rearranging their Milton Keynes shows several times, My Chemical Romance have now added several new UK dates to their tour for 2022.

The ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’ band will now also be playing shows in Cardiff, Glasgow and Warrington.

A series of new shows will complete their first UK dates in more than a decade.

The three Milton Keynes shows were forced to be postponed due to the pandemic, but will now be on May 19, 20 and 21st at Stadium MK.

The new Warrington date will be at Victoria Park on May 27, as well as Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens on May 28, and Glasgow OVO Hydro on May 30.

The band also added a second night to their Eden Sessions show, on May 17.

Their Australian and New Zealand tour dates have also been pushed back to 2023.

For fans in Warrington, residents in the following postcodes will receive access to a special pre-sale, which goes live at 10am on Thursday December 9: WA1, WA2, WA3, WA4 and WA5. General ticket sales start on December 10.

The band have also added new European dates, in Berlin, Budapest, Munich, Warsaw and Paris.

My Chemical Romance played a comeback show in LA back in December 2019, shortly before having to cancel their newly announced dates due to Covid.

Guitarist Frank Iero also recently broke his wrist falling from a ladder, and feared he would not play guitar again. He has been documenting his experience on social media, after having pins and metal plates inserted into his wrist.
