International Travel & Adult Immunization

Customer ratings and reviews.

On all of my three visits I had great nurses, barely felt a thing and had a no longer than average wait. Would definitely recommend. There are no places to lock a bike at this strip mall.

The nurse who administered the vaccines was super helpful and nice. But one of the receptionists was rude. She was chatting and giggling with her colleagues instead of answering me. She looked me in the eye and still continued laughing with her colleagues instead of responding to my questions. I waited several minutes before she decided to ask if I had a question. 5 star nurse, 0 star receptionist.

Very friendly and helpful service, happy to answer questions. I got my appointment time mixed up, came an hour late and they were able to rebook me in the next day. I was very relieved!

I made a appointment for me and my girlfriend to get shots before going overseas on a trip. Staff was informative and very helpful. Shots were in stock and we left very satisfied! Don't let the few nagative reviews scare you away!

I went in and it was fine. Booked my appointment a few days beforehand, and they had the vaccines I needed for my trip. Didn't have any issues with reception, and the nurse was very personable and helpful! My only complaint would be that my appointment was a few minutes late, but it wasn't a big deal for me that day.

3rd COVID-19 vaccine doses for international travel would be offered in Sask. only if top doc signs off: health minister

Paul Merriman makes an announcement in Saskatoon on July 27, 2021. (CTV News)

A day after Quebec announced it would allow additional COVID-19 vaccine doses for travellers heading to countries where Astra-Zeneca or mixed doses are not recognized, health minister Paul Merriman said the option would be offered in Saskatchewan only if the province's top doctor recommends it.

Merriman was asked about the potential for a" third dose" during a news conference in Saskatoon on Tuesday.

The health minister was quick to emphasize the extra doses Quebec is offering have nothing to do with vaccine efficacy and only are about ease of movement for those travelling internationally.

"It's not about how effective the vaccines are, whether you got AstraZeneca, Moderna , or Pfizer or any combination of those … your level of protection is still the same. This is only specific to people that are travelling to countries that may have requirements that you have a double dose of the same vaccine," Merriman said.

Merriman indicated that any decision made by the province regarding additional doses would be based on the recommendation of Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab.

With there is little data when it comes potential side effects that may come with an additional dose, the Government of Quebec said it would it extend the option to international travellers at their own risk.

The Saskatchewan government also said Wednesday it will not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for large events or any other purpose.

Seventy-four per cent of those over 12 have received their first dose and 62 per cent are fully vaccinated, the province says.

In a statement, it encouraged eligible residents to get vaccinated. It says the Ministry of Health continues to encourage vaccination through various social and traditional media campaigns.

“We have offered several ways to get vaccinated, including booked appointments, drive-thru and walk-in clinics, targeted community clinics and pop up clinics across the province.”

Relaxed restrictions, immunity from COVID-19 influencing travellers, say travel agents

But not everyone who has had covid-19 this wave is ready to hit the road.

A commercial jet airplane is shown as it lifts off a runway. A cityscape can be seen in the background.

Social Sharing

With official COVID-19 case numbers slowly dropping — and many people having been infected with the virus during the latest wave — two Saskatchewan travel agents say they've noticed more people booking international travel.

"[As] things get better and restrictions get [lifted], people are getting more and more comfortable in terms of flying outside Canada," said Rajan Sagar, manager of C World Travel in Regina.

Sagar said that during the last few weeks he's seen more bookings than any other time since the pandemic started. He believes people have waited a long time to take a vacation out of the country and are eager.

"Now I think is the time that [people] start thinking of getting to Mexico, or to hot places anywhere just to have fun," he said.

international travel centre saskatoon

The Public Health Agency of Canada issued a notice in mid-December advising people to avoid non-essential travel out of the country because of rising cases. Around the same time, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe encouraged people to be cautious if they chose to travel, especially over the Christmas holiday, but didn't implement any provincial travel restrictions.

According to Sandy Farber, manager and co-owner of Jubilee Travel in Saskatoon, clients who had COVID-19 during this latest wave have been booking international travel because they feel they don't have to be worried about catching the virus.

Farber also noted travellers who have had COVID-19 from 10 to 180 days prior to their departure can present their positive PCR test to avoid paying for one at the border.

  • Private companies expect bump in demand after Sask. changes eligibility for free PCR tests
  • All travellers will once again need a molecular COVID-19 test before arriving in Canada

"You've got the golden ticket," said Farber.

She said many tour operators and insurance companies have insurance plans built specifically for COVID-19.

"There's a lot of little modules that have fit together very well to gain people's confidence," she said.

"We are a resilient industry. You give us a problem, we're going to try and fix it."

Some not sure about taking the risk

While some who have had COVID-19 are heading out of the country, others are not as eager.

Jennifer Riviere, her husband and their four kids were planning to visit Riviere's parents in Arizona later this month. Riviere and her two oldest kids tested positive at the beginning of January after an outbreak at the kids' high school in Radville. Her two youngest kids and her husband didn't get infected.

international travel centre saskatoon

Although the family is fully vaccinated, she's on the fence about going, as three members of her family would still be at risk of getting sick.

"It's a tough decision," said Riviere. "I don't want to get stuck down there with someone in the hospital. Is it worth it?"

  • Canada needs to adopt a 'more sustainable' approach to COVID-19, Tam says

She said her parents have taken precautions while down in Arizona and she wants to make sure they stay safe.

The family also can't take advantage of the PCR test exemption at the border, because they used rapid tests to confirm they had the virus. Riviere said her daughter was the only one who got a PCR test — as she was the first to show symptoms — but it came back negative. By the time Rivere and her son started showing symptoms, they didn't feel up to driving into Weyburn to get their tests done.

international travel centre saskatoon

Riviere is grateful that when she purchased the family's flight tickets in November, she paid extra so they could cancel up to the day before their departure and receive a credit for a future trip.

"There is kind of this pressure of things that we want to do, but on the other hand we're not going to die if we don't go on a trip," she said. "You have to keep it in perspective."

Know before you go – testing and vaccine for travel and events

September 15, 2021

Please note: The Saskatchewan Health Authority published this story earlier this summer. We are sharing it again as it contains updated information regarding testing and vaccine requirements for travel and events.

Anyone planning to travel , either within the province, within Canada or internationally, should check the Government of Canada’s COVID travel site and the destination to which they are travelling to understand any travel restrictions and requirements, which may include proof of a negative COVID-19 test and/or proof of vaccination.

Some airlines and travel destinations require tight timelines for testing, with travellers being required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test (not a rapid antigen test) within 72 hours of their flight (some airline and destination timelines may vary).

As well, for those attending events, such as sporting events, concerts, festivals or social events, it is your responsibility to check the organization’s or venue’s testing or vaccine requirements for entry.

Testing is prioritized to support symptomatic persons and close contacts to reduce the spread of COVID-19. While Saskatchewan Health Authority teams work incredibly hard to provide test results in a timely manner, it can be challenging for the SHA to guarantee PCR test results for asymptomatic travelers or event goers in under 72 hours, due to transportation and processing times. If you require proof of a negative test before you travel or before attending an event, we strongly recommend seeking user-pay COVID-19 asymptomatic testing through a private lab where you pay a fee to ensure priority testing and result turnaround time is within your required timeline. In Saskatchewan, private lab services are available to provide confirmatory COVID-19 PCR testing for asymptomatic individuals. They can be found by searching “private labs offering COVID-19 testing in Saskatchewan”. Individuals are responsible for the cost of their own tests.

If you require proof of vaccination and/or details on which vaccines you received, please login to or create a MySaskHealthRecord account at ehealthsask.ca , where your immunization record is available to print. For more information on other ways to access your proof of vaccination, please visit Saskatchewan.ca/COVID-19.

If you require additional doses of vaccine in order meet entrance requirements for a country/agency/venue, you may receive them at participating pharmacies or Saskatchewan Health Authority pop-up clinics . More information on additional doses required for travel can be found here . For more information on SHA testing please review the ‘ What You Need to Know About Getting Tested for COVID-19 ’ fact sheet.
