311 Reveal 2023 Caribbean Cruise Lineup, Taking ‘311 Day’ to Sea

UPDATE: 311 have now revealed the acts that will be participating in their 2023 cruise. They include Arrested Development, G. Love & Special Sauce, Less Than Jake, Tropidelic, Los Stellarians, Bumpin Uglies, RDGLDGRN, Jungle Fire, Bronx Slang, Aleem, Two Player, The Ries Brothers, The Unity All Stars, Seaweed Sandwich, DJ Soulman, DJ Trichrome and Shut Up & Dance. 311 will also play three full sets over the course of the cruise week.

311 combining two great traditions into one awesome experience in 2023. The band, who have taken part in several cruise adventures in previous years, are combining their plans for their 2023 cruise to synch up with their "311 Day" concert. So for the first time, "311 Day" will be taking place at sea.

The band has partnered with Sixthman to announce the 311 Caribbean Cruise 7 - 311 Day at Sea, while will take place between March 8-13, 2023. The ship will set sail from Miami, Florida, en route to Harvest Caye, Belize and Roatan, Honduras before returning to port in Florida.

311 fans are invited to book their trip aboard the Norwegian Pearl, with plenty of 311-themed events, performances and activities taking place throughout the journey. Fans will be able to take a personal photo with the group, catch performances from 311 and other special guests on five concert stages, partake of costume night and enjoy the various bars, restaurants, spas, fitness centers, sports courts, hot tubs, swimming pools and the Pearl Club Casino that are all on board the ship. There will also be plenty of activities at each of the exotic stops on the journey.

And the crowning jewel of the sea-based adventure will be the band's annual "311 Day shows," offering up a full festival lineup of bands and comedians who will soon be announced.

Pre-sales for the 2023 311 Caribbean Cruise will start on Thursday, Aug. 10, with the general on-sale following on Tuesday, Aug. 16 via the 311 Cruise website . Check out the teaser trailer below.

The eagerly awaited eighth sailing of 311 Caribbean Cruise will see 311 performing three unique pool deck shows together with a stacked lineup of special guest artists, DJs, comedians, and more to be announced soon. The good vibes will flow nonstop with a wide range of activities alongside 311 members, including a basketball tournament with singer/guitarist Nick Hexum and bass guitarist P-Nut, a “Name That Tune” contest hosted by Hexum, 311 Family Feud with guitarist Tim Mahoney and drummer Chad Sexton, and a special set from Los Stellarians, the soul-funk experience featuring 311 vocalist/DJ SA Martinez.

The luxurious Norwegian Gem will pull out all the stops for the 311 Caribbean Cruise, with fully stocked bars on almost every corner, tasty dining experiences, the Pool Deck with multiple hot tubs, the Gem Club Casino, Mandara Spa, Body Waves Fitness Center, Sports Court, and so much more.

Beyond the onboard experience, 311 Caribbean Cruisers will have the chance to enjoy unforgettable shore excursions in Great Stirrup Cay (offering gorgeous white sand beaches, ideal for snorkeling and swimming with pigs) and Nassau, Bahamas (the ultimate vacationer’s paradise with its laid back vibes and perfect white-sand beaches, palm trees covered in coconuts, and refreshing, crystal-clear waters). A premium beverage package includes select, premium cocktails, and spirits under $15; a variety of beer and wine by the glass under $15; 20% off all bottles of champagne and wine; and unlimited soft drinks and juices. On June 24, Round Records & ATO Records will release GarciaLive Volume Six: July 5, 1973 – Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders, the latest installment of the celebrated GarciaLive archival series. The three-CD set was recorded at the 200 capacity Lion’s Share club formerly located in the small town of San Anselmo, CA, just 20 miles north of San Francisco. The performance features Jerry Garcia performing with friend, mentor and legendary keyboardist/vocalist Merl Saunders. The duo is joined by drummer Bill Vitt and bassist John Kahn, who soon became a lifelong Garcia collaborator.

311’s Caribbean Cruise to Jamaica

From February 25th to March 1st, 2015, 311 will perform three shows, with each being a different set. One of those sets will feature 1999’s Soundsystem , in its entirety & this will be the first time 311 has played the album, live, from start to finish! They’ll also be performing songs off their 9th studio album, Stereolithic that was aptly released on March 11th, 2014.

As mentioned before, 311 plans on keeping good company and thus far, that company includes Dirty Heads & Pepper who will also be performing! It doesn’t stop there as they plan to announce more bands, DJs & comedians. In addition to the music, fans aboard the Cruise Line will have access to the ship’s pool, bars, restaurants, basketball court, rock climbing wall, casino, spa, bowling alley & we’re assuming there’s much more!

311 vocalist/guitarist, Nick Hexum , says, “The 311 Cruise is just such an amazing experience for us and our fans. The energy and unity on the ship is always incredible. We especially can’t wait to go to Jamaica this time and to play Soundsystem in its entirety. It’s a dream trip for us and our fans.”

Soundsystem was released October 12th, 1999 & debuted at number 9 on The Billboard 200. The whole album, including it’s artwork & title, were all inspired by the members visit to Jamaica in the ’90’s.

Playing Soundsystem in its entirety for this trip is a surprising choice, considering that 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of one of their top records with, Grassroots . We’re not complaining & we hope us fans will have access to purchase or download a live version of the album, from start to finish! My personal favorite off Soundsystem is “Strong All Along” .

Prices for the trip, which don’t include airfare, range from $619 to $3,674. In addition to whichever option you purchase, an additional $215 will be added for Tax & fees. Not a bad expense considering the entertainment, accommodations, scenery & travel over 4 days to Jamaica and back.

More than 1,500 guns were confiscated by the Transportation Security Administration across US airports over the past 3 months, with a shocking 93% of them dangerously loaded.

The TSA screened more than 206 million people from Jan. 1 to March 31 with a staggering 1,503 firearms intercepted in security lines across airports at a rate of 16.5 guns per day, according to a statement .

Even more disturbing, 93% of the weapons were loaded, which is equivalent to nearly 1,400 guns, according to TSA.

“While it is certainly promising that the rate of passengers bringing firearms to the checkpoint has decreased, one firearm at the checkpoint is too many,” TSA Administrator David Pekoske said in a statement.

“The demand for air travel is as strong as ever and security is always our number one priority.”

In the first quarter of 2023, five more firearms were found compared to the 2024 count, with the same percentage found loaded with bullets.

However, 15 million fewer people were screened by the agency, with only 191 million taking off their shoes and belts to pass the checkpoint during the first quarter of 2023, a difference of 7.8%, TSA numbers show.

The airports where the most guns were found were at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport in Texas and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston in 2023, with 378 and 311 guns confiscated, according to a TSA infographic.

The 10 airports with the most confiscations were mainly found in the South, with three in Florida alone, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Tampa International Airport, and Orlando International Airport.

Texas also had three major airports in the top 10, including Dallas-Fort Worth, George Bush, and Dallas Love Field.

Other airports include Nashville International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Denver International Airport, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

All were in the range between 125 to 378 guns confiscated.

A total of 6,737 guns were found in carry-on luggage last year across 265 airports, TSA said.

Although passengers are legally allowed to fly with their firearms, it is prohibited in carry-on baggage. Guns must be secured in check-in baggage unloaded, locked in a hard-sided case, and declared at the ticket counter.

“We always recommend passengers start with a clean bag when they pack to ensure no firearms, weapons or other prohibited items are present,” Pekoske said.

Guns are not allowed in secure areas of the airport or the flight cabin, even if a passenger has a concealed carry permit or is in a constitutional carry jurisdiction, TSA said.

When TSA comes across a firearm, local law enforcement is contacted and the weapon is safely transferred into police custody.

Passengers can face arrest or be cited by police for the mishap, depending on local law.

“Local law enforcement is always called to manage the firearm and passenger in accordance with local firearms laws,” a TSA spokesperson told The Post.

TSA can, however, fine a passenger up to around $15,000 for a first offense and the offender automatically loses access to the coveted TSA PreCheck for five years, the agency said.

Additional offenses can leave passengers ineligible to rejoin TSA PreCheck and could face additional civil penalties.

The Post has reached out to TSA for comment.

Designed by Eldredge-McInnis and built by Portsmouth Yacht Co., the Eastward Ho is a compact yet roomy sloop designed for family cruising in comfort. She is a proven design which combines traditional elegance with practical accommodations. Nothing has been overlooked to satisfy both the sailor and the cruising enthusiast. Her generous headroom, two berths, full galley, and enclosed head are unique on a boat of this size. Her spacious cockpit affords seats long enough for an afternoon nap or additional overnight guests. Sailing or under power she is lively and responsive with a motion reminiscent of a much larger boat. Her ample beam and sufficient ballast make her very stiff without sacrificing valuable draft.

Attabuoy  is in need of general cleaning inside and out and some cosmetic work. The keel will need some minor fiberglass work. The sails are like new. The engine turns over, but has not been operated for a number of years. Take a look and you will fall in love!

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio
