‘Achey Breaky Heart’ was a scourge to the cause of contemporary country music. On that day in 1992 when Billy Ray Cyrus’s insidious plonker peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, all extant prejudices about country music were validated.

Luckily there is talent such as Charlie Worsham’s to put classic Americana back on track. From Jackson, Mississippi, Worsham was a young prodigy – at 14 being recognised for his musical talents by the Mississippi Senate.

His 2013 debut, Rubberband, is an exploration of the purview of modern country music. Each track feels entirely unique, yet there’s a consistency, a definite Worsham touch that binds all the tracks together in one complete package. The stand-out single, ‘Could It Be’, is an easy-going classic, recalling an intimate When Harry Met Sally-esque experience with a close female friend.

His live performance featured all the best moments of Rubberband, as well as some cover versions of country greats Keith Urban and Vince Gill, and a killer one of Ozzy Ozborne’s ‘Crazy Train’. This is Jackson’s golden child at work.

Charlie Worsham is awesome live! Just him and his guitar, amazing! One of the best gigs I've been to. Husband was to quote 'dragged along' and is now a convert. Sounds just like his album, such a lovely voice and so talented on guitar. Loved the new music too and the little touch of giving everyone there a copy of his new album. Met him afterwards, such a nice guy. Looking forward to his next tour.

I was there to see Brandy Clark. I really felt indifferent toward Charlie originally just listening at home. He was GREAT in concert. He was also very nice & met with a lot of fans.AWESOME job, Charlie!!!

Beloved multi-hyphenate talent, Charlie Worsham will be spending the month of February and some change on his headlining Compadres Tour.

Bringing up-and-coming talent Jordyn Shellheart along for the ride, he'll be hitting some of his self-proclaimed "favorite cities" throughout the southeast for the duration of the month.

Kicking off on February 15 at the Saturn, Worsham will make stops in the Carolinas, Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana while on the headlining trek.

Taking its name from his 2023 EP , fans will be crossing their fingers to hear cuts from the star-studded project, including 'Kiss Like You Dance', 'How I Learned To Pray', 'Creekwater Clear' and other fan-favorites from across his esteemed discography.

Aside from his own dates, Worsham will also be joining up with the luscious-locked Ian Munsick for a pair of shows on his Boots, Buckles & Bolos Tour, warming up the stage in Davenport and Clear Lake, Iowa in March.

After its all said and done, Worsham will head across the pond as part of the CMA Songwriter Series during C2C 2024. Also slated to appear at the much-loved London writers round will be Stephen Wilson Jr., Lauren Alaina, Colbie Callait and more.

While most 12-year-old boys spend their time playing kickball and video games, young Charlie Worsham was too busy receiving a standing ovation during his Grand Ole Opry debut. A Mississippi native, Charlie’s unmistakable love of music began at a young age. He attended an Opry show on an evening Mike Snider was playing. Although Charlie was interested in acoustic guitar at the time, it was Mike’s performance that night that prompted the seven-year-old to pick up the banjo. After mastering the instrument, Charlie sent a tape of himself playing to a very impressed Mike, who then asked Charlie if he would like to play with him at the Opry.

"This is a dream come true for me," said Charlie the night of his 1998 debut. "Ever since I even knew about the Grand Ole Opry, I wanted to play on it. So to finally be here, it's incredible."

Debuting at the Opry and earning the title Junior National Banjo Champion marked only the beginning of Charlie’s musical career. He went on to study at Berklee School of Music in Boston and shortly after that made the move to Nashville to play with the group KingBilly. Touring with the group provided Charlie with enough knowledge and experience to break off as a solo artist. Since then, he has spent his time writing songs, playing as a studio musician and opening shows for artists including Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert.

Charlie Worsham has never had a back-up plan. The acclaimed singer / songwriter and celebrated multi-instrumentalist has only ever had one thing: a bones-deep love for music. He weathers the storms of that all-consuming passion in his first new release in nearly four years, “Fist Through This Town” (Worsham, Jeremy Spillman, Travis Meadows). The fire-in-his-belly, Springsteen-tinted country rocker picks up Worsham’s story following the release of his 2017 album  Beginning of Things , which, along with his debut  Rubberband , earned widespread critical praise and year-end recognition from outlets including  The Wall Street Journal ,  Variety, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter  and more. Since then, the “undeniable musical talent” (NPR) has toured with Vince Gill and Old Crow Medicine Show, earning an ACM Awards Specialty Instrument Player of the Year nomination in the process. Frequently lending his co-writing and recording skills to artists including Eric Church, Luke Combs, Keith Urban and Kacey Musgraves, Worsham recently launched Air Castle Community Hour, a monthly show on WSM radio (home to the Grand Ole Opry) that celebrates the diverse community of creative spirits that reside in the 615. Now the beloved musician is ready to again share his own voice: “Fist Through This Town” welcomes listeners into Worsham’s anger, struggle, desire and, ultimately, love.

Taylor Swift Announces Opening Acts For Speak Now Tour

When it comes to opening acts for the North American leg of her Speak Now tour, Taylor Swift has compiled a nice list of eye candy, not to mention inspiration for her next album.

Frankie Ballard , Danny Gokey , Hunter Hayes , Josh Kelley , Randy Montana , James Wesley and Charlie Worsham will each play select dates on the tour (list below). As previously announced , Needtobreathe will appear on all North American stops, which kick off May 27 in Omaha, Neb.

"I'm so excited to go back out on tour again in 2011!" Taylor says . "The Fearless Tour was so much fun and even more unforgettable than I ever imagined, and I can't wait to get back out and play my new music from ' Speak Now !' The fans have been so amazing, and I'm thrilled to play in new cities around the world and meet even more of my fans in 2011!"

The Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival has announced the lineup for its 10th anniversary. Noah Kahan , Hozier , Needtobreathe , and Dave Matthews Band will headline the weekend festival this September in Franklin, Tennessee.

Set for Sept. 28 and 29 at the Park at Harlindale Farm, the headliners lean into the folky pop and country revival currently underway, while the undercard has a more eclectic vibe. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Allison Russell, Lukas Nelson, Willie Carlisle, and bluegrass prodigy Wyatt Ellis are all on Saturday’s lineup. Coin, Stephen Sanchez, the Cadillac Three, Sierra Hull, and Charlie Worsham are on tap for Sunday.

Last year’s festival was headlined by Zach Bryan, who brought out Kahan , the War and Treaty, and fellow 2023 headliners the Lumineers during his set. (Last week, Kahan joined Kacey Musgraves onstage at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for her Deeper Well album release show.)

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.
