This past Friday, Suri Cruise debuted a new haircut , and it's definitely more Michelle Obama than Seraphina Affleck . Katie Holmes' daughter showed off bangs, a hairstyle add-on that's a bit more high-maintenance than that of most seven-year-olds. Still, Suri's always proven herself to be a pint-sized pioneer poised on the, er, cutting edge.

To be blunt, Suri's fringe is -- well, blunt. Her cut's so short that the style community is asking if she cut them herself . To which we say, so what if she did? She's young. She blazes her own sartorial trail . And they'll grow back .

Being the daughter of two major Hollywood stars, Suri is a magnet for paparazzi attention. Suri Cruise was born on April 18th, 2006, from parents Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.

As a baby, Suri used to wear elegant little dresses that matched with cozy coats. As for her hair, she wore her short hair with some bangs.

Her closet was filled with dresses, coats, tights, and shoes. Her style was very classic for a girl her age.

The fashion world kept an eye on Suri from a young age, known for her iconic dress. She was known for her love of prints, like polka dots, and matching them with ballet flats. The results were consistently adorable.

When there were cold days in New York, Suri used to wear tights with fancy and elegant dresses.

When Suri was three years old, she became the center of attention, because she started wearing heels. While the heel was tiny, everyone loved the little girl’s new style, and admired the fact that she could walk on heels from such a short age.

Like any other little girl, Suri also wore princess dresses, costumes, bunny slippers and fun prints.

Suri then started dressing a bit like her mother. Like a true New Yorker, Suri added sweaters, raincoats and trench coats in order to cope with the weather of the Big Apple.

As she aged up, Suri naturally started leaving behind her little girl era, creating the space for her own identity and creativity, choosing her own jewelry and accessories, like this cute handbag.

As Suri started attending school she started wearing bright tights, colorful boots and jackets. During this stage of her life, Suri was very into hair accessories, like headbands and bows.

She was still into formal attire, wearing beautiful pastel-colored coats. In terms of her hairstyle, Suri said goodbye to her long brown hair in 2016, cutting it shoulder length.

Quickly, Suri grew into a pre-teen. She started dressing and looking more and more like her mother.

As a teen, Suri’s looks skewed for comfortable looking pieces with a modern touch. It appears that what matters most to her is practicality. Being a New Yorker, Suri knows that sneakers, flats and the like are the right choice.

Following the latest fashion trends, Suri has reinvented her style. She now wears high waisted pants with short and flowy tops, pairing them with small handbags. The 15 year old likes to wear her hair long now.

Suri also appears to enjoy oversized clothing items, like jackets, which are very trendy in 2021 fashion trends, and suit her slender frame perfectly.

Suri Cruise , 15, is enjoying her summer as she was out and about in New York City on July 15 rocking a pair of short cotton purple shorts with a teal blue tank top. She topped her look off with a pair of nude flip-flops and a face mask, as she let her super long brown hair down and parted in the middle in beach waves.

Suri has been looking super cute this summer and we’ve been loving all of her outfits . She was on a shopping spree in NYC with her mom, Katie Holmes , on July 14 when Suri opted to wear a pair of burgundy cotton shorts with an oversized white cotton T-shirt. She tied her long hair back into a messy bun and topped her look off with the same nude flip-flops.

For the outing, Katie looked casual and chic when she donned a pair of baggy light wash jeans with an oversized blue and white striped button-down shirt tucked in. She accessorized her look with a pair of black Gucci Brixton Loafers and a pair of sunglasses.

Another one of our favorite looks from Suri was when she rocked the summer’s hottest trend – tie-dye. She threw on a pink and white cropped T-shirt with a pair of purple and green sweatpants. Suri was accompanied on the outing by Katie, who was in her usual ensemble. Katie rocked fit-and-flare blue jeans with an oversized blue button-down shirt, a brown leather crossbody bag, and white Gucci Brixton Loafers.

We love seeing this mother-daughter duo out together because they always look so happy and are seriously twins.

Mini fashionista Suri Cruise has stepped out with a new haircut.

The adorable eight-year-old enjoyed some time with her mum Katie Holmes at a farmer’s market in LA.

Wearing a blue sun dress with a matching blue bow in her hair, Suri sipped pink lemonade as she followed her mum around the markets.

Katie, who recently relocated the pair from New York, was busy stocking up on fresh produce and flowers.

According to TMZ, the 25-year-old actress decided to make the move to LA for career opportunities.

The pair have since moved into a lavish $3.7 million house in the LA suburb of Calabasas. The house boasts a six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a sports court and a swimming pool.

A casual Katie Holmes was out done by her daughter Suri who showed off her new haircut.

Katie and Suri enjoyed a day at the farmer’s markets in their new home town of Calabasas.

Eight year old Suri is certainly looking all grown up!

Suri Cruise Haircut Shows Uneven Bangs, Self-Cut?

Suri Cruise the adorable six-year-old is sporting new haircut the daughter of divorced Hollywood power couple Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise.

The new haircut seems cute over all, with an odd looking uneven set of bangs. The uneven bangs left with many wondering whether she decided to try it out on her own.

It reminded somewhat of Holmes with bangs on the cover of Elle Magazine in their July 2012 issue.

People has a picture and she left her remaining hair still long and looks gorgeous, since the bangs are so short, probably wait until they grow out and make them even to match the rest of her hair.

Suri was seen with the new haircut on Thursday at Disney World with Holmes. The pair was seen enjoying Disney's Electrical Parade, at which she was dressed as Princess Jasmine.

Holmes now grew out her blunt bangs that she revealed last July. Now with a softer look, she parts her hair down the middle and lets the shorter bangs fall to each side of her face.

Holmes in a recent interview with Allure magazine said that her daughter usually puts her own outfits together.

"She's got a great eye, she really does," Holmes said of Suri.

We Can't Get Over Suri Cruise's Incredible Height Transformation

Suri Cruise has been a household name since before she was born. As the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Suri  inevitably grew up in the public eye. And she has done a lot of growing, seemingly surpassing  Tom in height . But we got to see a lot more of her when she was little, as she became the object of intense interest as part of the media's obsession with her parents' whirlwind relationship. After all, she was born about a year after Tom and Holmes started dating in April 2005. 

Before she could even sit up, 5-month-old Suri was gracing the cover of Vanity Fair donning Dior socks. Back then, Tom and Holmes had no issues gushing over their child, each blaming her cute traits on the other. "She has Kate's lips and eyes," he said. "I think she looks like Kate." the "Dawson's Creek" alum disagreed. "I think she has Tom's eyes," she said. "I think she looks like Tom." But things have changed a whole lot since the good ol' TomKat days.

Following Tom and Holmes' messy divorce in 2012, Suri largely retreated from the spotlight. She has her mom to thank for that. "She was so visible at a young age," she told Glamour in 2023. After the interest in Holmes' marriage to Tom dwindled, she attempted to change that. "I really like to protect her," she said. However, glimpses of Suri have been captured over the years, showing she grew up to be tall.

The media was obsession with little Suri

Constantly photographed with Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Suri Cruise was captured in many a candid moment, like having a taste of rainwater in New York in February 2010, as seen above. And if you're wondering if her parents were responsible for the 4-year-old's choice of red coat over a dress with tights, you'd be wrong. "Whatever she wants to wear, she wears it ... She's got great taste, too. She tells me what to wear," Tom told Oprah in May 2010.

While the interest in Suri was overwhelming, they made the best of the situation. "We don't get nervous about it. You get used to it after so long," Tom said. He believed it was inevitable to expose Suri to the reality of her parents' lives. "We're raising her to — you know... protecting her, but also you don't want her to be sheltered in any way," he said in 2009, according to  RTE .

Tom and Holmes clearly had differing views on parenting. She wanted Suri to have a childhood similar to her own. "I try to do what [my family] did for me for my little one," she previously said on the "Today" show, per  E! News . Tom, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind the attention being paid to his daughter. "It's both very flattering ... and you kind of go, 'It is what it is,'" he said on "The View" in 2009 (via People ).

Suri Cruise was still a tiny tot when her parents divorced

Suri Cruise may have stopped appearing in Annie Leibovitz's photoshoots by the time her parents divorced. Still, the 6-year-old continued to garner paparazzi attention wherever she was out and about with Katie Holmes, as seen above matching with her mom in New York in July 2012. Wearing a pink dress and red ballerina shoes, Suri stood past Holmes' waist, even though she had on heeled boots complementing her choice of pink shirt and skinny jeans.

While Suri was most often photographed next to her mother, she drew even more attention when she was seen with Tom Cruise. At least in the months that followed the split, Tom still spent time with Suri. On July 17, 2012, he flew to New York for his first known visit with Suri after he and Holmes settled their divorce the week before. The following day, Tom famously took Suri for a helicopter ride over the city for a memorable father-daughter time.

But those days were numbered. According to Us Weekly , Tom was last seen publicly with Suri in 2013, when she was 7. The reality away from the paparazzi cameras doesn't seem to be much different. Tom has reportedly not seen his daughter in more than a decade. "Every person is allowed to see their child if they wanted to," a source told the outlet, explaining he is entitled to see her for 10 days a month. "He chooses not to because she is not a Scientologist."

Suri Cruise started accompanying mom to events more often

As time went on and TomKat became old news, Katie Holmes seemingly felt more comfortable taking Suri Cruise to high-profile events. In September 2015, Holmes brought the then-9-year-old onto the stage to wave at the crowd before she gave her speech. Suri's brief appearance onstage showed how much she had grown in three years. Holmes barely had to bend her knees to get close to her daughter's face.

Earlier that year, Holmes had also taken Suri to the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, where mother and daughter had a blast throwing confetti around. A year later, Holmes also took Suri to see the Broadway musical "Finding Neverland" with her grandmother, Kathleen. That December, Holmes even shared a selfie featuring Suri on Instagram to mark her 38th birthday. It looks like Holmes found a happy medium between protecting her daughter's right to a normal(ish) childhood and her life as a public figure.

That's not to say Suri's relationship with Tom Cruise had stopped attracting attention. In June 2016, many were quick to note that Suri spent Father's Day in the company of her mother at Serafina East Hampton, though she didn't seem to mind. "Suri and her friends were playing, and running around the restaurant," a source told Page Six . Tom, for his part, spent Father's Day in Morocco, where he was shooting "The Mummy." Earlier that month marked 1,000 days since Tom had last seen his youngest kid.

At 12, Suri was communicating more with Tom Cruise

By December 2017, 12-year-old Suri Cruise showed she wasn't far from becoming a tall teenager. Suri showed off her height transformation at Z100's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball (as seen above). Even though Holmes, who is said to be 5 feet 9 inches, was still a bit taller, her preteen daughter still reached up to her shoulders. Suri had just turned 12 the previous April, a milestone that was said to have been missed by her father.

Suri reportedly hoped he would attend her party. "Like any little girl, her greatest wish is for her father to be there, and now she's been disappointed again," a source told Star, according to  YourTango . However, Cruise supposedly had wished her a happy birthday. "Suri gets a gift from Tom on her birthday every year and this year was no exception," an insider told Hollywood Life in April 2018.

By then, Tom was said to be trying to mend his relationship with Suri, taking steps to have a more active role in her upbringing. "Tom's been in contact with Suri more and more over the last few months and has made it clear that he wants to be part of her life again," a source told Grazia U.K. (via InTouch ). However, other sources indicated that Suri had made her peace with her father's absence by then. "[She] has to have accepted the fact that she's in a single-parent family," an insider told InTouch .

Suri Cruise is about as tall as Katie Holmes

As a full-fledged teenager, Suri Cruise looked a couple of inches shorter than Katie Holmes, as seen above arriving at the premiere of "In The Heights" on June 9, 2021, in New York City. Between then and 2024, she seems to have added another inch or two to her height. In  photos  taken in February 2024, just two months ahead of her 18th birthday, Suri looked about the same height as her mother, suggesting Tom Cruise's relatively short stature didn't bring down the average of his offspring. And by the looks of it, Suri has grown taller than him, who is said to be 5 feet 7 inches.

But the last couple of years didn't compare to the growth she experienced between 2018 and 2021. That's not unusual, though. Girls tend to have a growth spurt around the time they reach puberty, which is between 11 and 12 for most preteens, according to  Medical News Today . By the time of their 15th birthday, girls are expected to have reached their adult height, as seems to have been the case with Suri.

Holmes' height isn't the only thing Suri inherited from her. As observed since the days she told Tom what to wear, Suri is as into fashion as Holmes, known for her sleek street outfits. Suri even wants to pursue a career in fashion, a source told the  Daily Mail  in 2023. As per their  divorce settlement ,  Tom is expected to pay for Suri's college .

Katie Holmes and her doppelgänger daughter, Suri Cruise, popped out for a cheerful stroll in New York City on Monday.

The “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 45, and the 17-year-old looked strikingly alike as they walked side by side in the buzzy Soho neighborhood with smiles on their faces.

Holmes looked laid-back in an oversize denim jacket layered over a red sweater and black trousers. She accessorized with white sneakers, sunglasses, a chunky statement necklace and a soft leather black tote by Mansur Gavriel , which retails for $795.

The teenager, who is nearly as tall as her 5-foot-9 mom, went with light-wash bootcut jeans, beat-up brown cowboy boots and a stunning Maje Western-style shearling coa t ( $2,695 $1347).

She also carried a worn-out brown leather crossbody decorated with two lions.

The look-alike mother-daughter duo appeared to enjoy their day out together, as they were seen laughing and gabbing while making their way down the pavement.

Passersby did not seem to recognize the actress or her child, whom she shares with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Holmes and Suri rarely step out together, though they got all gussied up to celebrate the “First Daughter” star’s 45th birthday in December.

The high school student clearly loves celebrating her mom, as she was also seen buying Holmes a bouquet of flowers for Mother’s Day last May.

And the feeling is mutual for Holmes, who gushed about how much she loves spending time with Suri in 2019.

“I feel very blessed to have such a special daughter. Being her mom is absolutely the greatest gift and privilege,” she told Shape magazine at the time. “Sometimes I work out with my daughter. It just depends on the day.”

TOM Cruise's daughter Suri Cruise has been spotted on the streets of Manhattan looking like a full-blown adult.

The 17-year-old was seen in New York's Soho while walking with some friends.

Suri is the daughter of actors Tom Cruise , 60, and Katie Holmes , 44.

She was wearing a black tank top and a knee-length denim skirt which gave early 2000s vibes.

She paired it with several silver bracelets and a black string choker necklace that had a large silver flower on it.

On her feet were black sneakers and tall white socks that were scrunched down at her ankles.

TWO YEARS AGO

In August 2021, Katie and her lookalike daughter turned heads as they stepped out in New York City .

It was hard to miss that her daughter had a striking similarity to her actress mom in the early days of her career.

With her tall frame and long dark locks, the teen looked just like Katie when she starred in Dawson's Creek over 20 years ago.

On their Friday outing, Katie kept it casual in a cream T-shirt tucked into white pants. Suri wore red shorts and cropped tank top.

Enjoying her evening stroll with her only child, Katie affectionately played with her daughter's brunette tresses while they waited for a crosswalk to turn green.

FATHER-DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP

Suri has reportedly not seen  Top Gun  star Tom in more than a decade after her mom divorced him when she was five.

Katie gained sole custody of Suri in 2012, along with a generous settlement that has Tom paying a reported £325,000 a year for his daughter’s care.

After the split, Katie took Suri to New York which was 2,400 miles away from LA -based Tom.

For Katie Holmes , "motherhood means everything."

Holmes welcomed her first and only child , daughter Suri Cruise, 18, on April 18, 2006, in Los Angeles with then-husband Tom Cruise . The Dawson's Creek actress and Mission Impossible star first met the year prior and got engaged after a whirlwind two-month courtship , tying the knot with their newborn by their side in Italy in November 2006. After five years of marriage, they split in 2012 .

While Holmes has kept her daughter largely out of the spotlight over the years, she has offered up some insight into her experience as a mother in interviews and shared a handful of throwback photos and sweet tributes to Suri on social media.

"My main goal is to just let her know how much I love her ," the actress told PEOPLE in 2014.

On her "overwhelming" love for her daughter

During an August 2014 appearance on the Today show, Holmes stressed that she prioritized her daughter's accomplishments over her own.

"The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and that her accomplishments mean everything," Holmes said. "Whatever I do is whatever. It's really just about her and that's what I think is most important."

On lessons she's learned as a mother and the example she tries to set

"Motherhood means everything to me," Holmes said in a PEOPLE cover story in November 2014. "I'm learning every day, and I have been since the minute I became a mom."

She added that her "patience has grown" and that she was focused on trying to set a positive example for her daughter.

"Between tickle fights and glitter art, I try to throw in some manners along the way. I try to have good manners too, so that's what she sees. I also try to be very creative with her, because I know she's an artist, and that speaks to the girl in me," Holmes said, before adding that she did have to draw the line somewhere. "To be honest? I'm not going to play tag, probably. That's not top of my list. But I'll paint all day, I'll do the creative stuff."

On her priorities as a mother

"My main goal is to just let her know how much I love her," Holmes told PEOPLE in 2014. "Just to let her know that she is so loved. When that's the through line, who cares that my first two pancakes are always burned?"

In April 2023, Holmes told Glamour that she likes to "protect" Suri from the public eye "because she was so visible at a young age."

The actress added: "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person. She's my heart."

On the importance of a reliable support system

Holmes gushed about her ultra-supportive mother, Kathleen, "who is always willing to fly to me if I need her, and even when I don't," she previously told PEOPLE.

The actress revealed that despite her best efforts, she often felt plagued by a sense of guilt. "'Am I enough? Am I doing enough? Have I seen her enough?' " she told PEOPLE that she would ask herself. "Guess what? You're not enough, she hasn't seen you enough, you're horrible: That's how it can feel sometimes. You do the best you can. Some days you feel really good about yourself and some days you don't."

She continued: "Motherhood has taught me to just let go of some things, to relinquish control. There's a playdate you weren't expecting — I've had to learn to ask myself, 'Is this worth it? Is it going to make her smile?' And if it is, then yeah, we're probably gonna do it. Maybe that means dinner at 8 instead of 6, and a snack in between. Fine. Things don't have to happen a certain way. I think we all need to ease up on the expectations. We're all trying to do the best we can. Motherhood taught me that."

On cooking for Suri

Holmes, who rates herself as a "solid 7" when it comes to cheffing it up, discussed her and Suri's routines in the kitchen with PEOPLE in 2016.

​​​"I like to make a nice breakfast and start the day calmly. I like that time with my little one before school," she said. "[Suri] has her favorites, like most kids," she added, admitting, "I don't really have any tactics to help [with picky eating]. I think like most parents you make the stuff you know that they like, and every once in a while you introduce something new."

On wanting to channel her own mom

"She's just so kind and has such a pure heart; she really leads with those two qualities, so I try to do the same," Holmes previously told PEOPLE of her mom.

"She's just so kind and very generous, so I try my best to embody that and pass that on to my own daughter," she added.

On providing Suri with a "stable, innocent childhood"

​Despite her many acting roles, Holmes has said that being a mother is the job she finds the most fulfilling.

"This business is so unstable, and you never really know where you're going to be … My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now," she said in Town & Country's April 2017 issue.

"It's very important that I'm present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there's nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed," she added.

On the "heartbreaking" process of her watching her daughter grow up

"Every day, kids get a little further away from you. That's a positive thing. They should be becoming more independent, but it's heartbreaking," Holmes said in her interview with Town & Country . "You want them to stay with you forever, but they're these amazing beings, and you have to do everything you can to give them what they need — and then they're going to go. And that's going to be very, very sad for me."

On welcoming Suri in her 20s

The actress shared that she was "happy" to welcome Suri at age 27, telling Elle UK in November 2019 that their ages are "a good match."

"I was happy to become a mom in my twenties," she told the outlet. "It's been nice that our ages fit … how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together."

On mother-daughter workouts

The mother-daughter duo have some fitness routines of their own, Holmes told Shape in December 2019. "Sometimes I work out with my daughter," she said. "It just depends on the day. We have our routines, and occasionally they overlap." She noted that she never pushes Suri to work out with her though, so as not to embarrass her.

"I don't force her to work out with me because I know that's lame," she said.

On nurturing Suri's "strong personality"

"I love her so much," the mom-of-one told InStyle for their April 2020 issue. "My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality, to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident and able. And to know it. She came out very strong — she's always been a strong personality."

Holmes added that Suri had outgrown her "girlie stage" and was putting her mind to a range of new tasks.

On a recent outing in New York City, the mother and daughter showed off their individual—yet complementary—styles with two looks that embraced spring.

Holmes wore a thin dark gray sweater layered over a striped collared button-down, plus a pair of wide-leg dark-wash jeans, black Adidas Samba sneakers , a slouchy black leather tote bag from Saint Laurent , and dark brown sunglasses.

As for 18-year-old Cruise, she opted for a more feminine look that embraced the boho silhouettes of the ’70s. This ensemble included a tiered maxi dress covered in a red, white, and black geometric pattern, which she then layered underneath a caramel corduroy jacket and a collared denim coat. Suri Cruise  put a sporty foot forward in the Big Apple on Monday when she stepped out in a pair of lycra shorts to take a stroll through the city. 

Katie Holmes  and Tom Cruise ' daughter looked deep in thought with her headphones on as she walked solo through New York. 

Suri teamed her shorts with a knitted sweatshirt and some unexpected footwear. 

She donned a pair of socks which appeared to have drawings of ballerinas on them and exuded a childish flair. 

Suri paired the pink-trimmed socks with black sneakers.

Her outing comes after she celebrated her 18th birthday on April 18 and entered adulthood. 

On her big day, Suri was photographed walking with a friend when she turned heads with a fun accessory to her stylish outfit. 

The teen carried a hot, pink umbrella with a frilly trim and added matching flowers to her long hair too. 

Suri has been raised by her mom in NYC while her dad has reportedly been estranged from her since she was five. 

Suri has kept largely out of the spotlight since her parents' separation in 2012.

The mother-daughter duo are incredibly close, however. 

In 2022, Katie gave another rare snippet into her relationship with Suri, telling InStyle : "I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality. To make sure she is 100 per cent herself and strong, confident, and able. And to know it.

While raising her daughter, Katie instilled a few rules that will have helped shape her into the woman she is today.

So, she’s always [saying], 'Mom, let’s give my old toys to people who need it.' So we are always doing that. I don't over-gift.  I don't inundate my child with a lot of things."

Suri is expected to leave the home she shares with Katie to attend college in 2024, but her choice of college hasn't been publicly revealed. 

Reports suggest she will favor an educational establishment in or close to New York so that she can be near Katie.
