Jaital Private Tour

Loved our time in Jamaica with Nicholas from Jaital. We booked on-line, had several emails back and forth with the company to ensure they knew what we wanted, and we got it! Nicholas was so informative, took us everywhere we wanted to go, including Mystic Mountain where we rode the bobsled - twice. We also went to Scotchies, a nice open-air restaurant, for lunch, which was a highlight for my husband who tried one of everything. We docked at Falmouth, went to Ocho Rios and back, and had a great day.

I booked this company thanks to the many positive reviews received by other reviewers and embraced the opportunity at a private tour instead of the overcrowded ship sponsored excursions. I booked two, one in Jamaica, and one in Cozumel as our cruise was for the Western Caribbean. What they make clear on the voucher from them is that all meeting times are local time, not ship time. We took that into consideration at every stop and triple checked the time differences at each stop, both with the ship staff and the locals. We were never met at the proper time listed on the voucher at the meeting points specified. Furthermore, when we were stranded in Cozumel, we had to pay double taxi fare to get to the meeting point and back to the port where we spent the rest of the day without chance of booking a different excursion, as it was too late in the day and all the cruise ship tours had left. We waited at the meeting points for over an hour each time, and even called the numbers listed on the vouchers only to have them be out of service. (In Cozumel we had to pay a taxi driver $5 for use of his cell phone to do this.) I am very displeased with this company and its handling of our excursions. Upon return I appealed to Jaital to at least get our deposit back, which they refused to grant, claiming that they talked to their drivers who insist we weren't there. I suspect they enjoyed their day off on our dollar.

Unfortunately, our operator’s set aside space to accommodate your request and was not able to fill that space with another customer. A chargeback case was filed in which the credit card company found negligence and ruled in our favor. Jaital has shared many positive memories with families, we value your review and hope this experience does not deter you from future visits.

Sounds like everyone went in a different trip. We tube down the "Rio Bueno River". There was a halfway stop where we plunged into the water by a rope. That exhilarating! The tubing ended where the river no longer flowed freely. At that point we were loaded into rafts that were attached to each other, the first one being attached to a small motorboat. We were then towed out into the ocean and around to a private beach. The tow was scary but fun! Thru trip itself seemed to be guided by braco.com, not sure what part Jaital played. Would do it again!

It was a short 20-minute drive from Falmouth Cruise Port to where we began the river rafting on the Rio Bueno River. The road was great the whole way. The driver was very nice and courteous. He dropped us off at the entrance to the river and then went to our final destination point and waited there for us until we arrived at the end of the rafting trip. All our personal items and cameras, et cetera, had to be left in the van the whole time we were on the river, so he locked up the van so that all of our items were safe when we returned. There were 3 of us in the raft plus our guide. Our guide who took us down the river was exceptional. He even sang to us some of Bob Marley's songs on the way down river. All the guys from Jaital were exceptionally fun and funny. We were personally catered to by the Jaital Tours people when taking this tour, whereas if we had booked it through the cruise lines instead, we would have encountered delays and numerous people on our tour. That means a lot to us that we didn't have to deal with that!. The driver brought us back to the port in plenty of time to have a few hours still to shop around the port area. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this to anyone, as we would do this again the next time we're in Falmouth. Our hats are off to you guys!! Keep up the good work!

We booked a cruise excursion with Jaital in Falmouth . We had two teenage boys and our parents with us. Our parents decided to kayak and we went river boarding. The river boarding, the kayaking and the river rafting all went down the same river, Rio Bueno. Actually going down the river, we were not side by side but you do meet up at the rope swing towards the end of the float. We had a blast river boarding. They put pads on your legs and elbows and require a helmet. They also provided fin/webbed gloves for your hands. We kept our legs up when were going through "the rapids" and no one hit any rocks or got hurt, but if you left your legs down going through the rougher water I could see how you might hit something. Our parents did the kayaking and had fun, but my father said that the back support on the kayaks wasn't really good. If we were to do it again, I would have them river raft instead. It was easy enough to find the tour once we got off the ship at Falmouth. Once you travel through the shopping area, all the independent cabs are towards the back fenced off area and our driver had a sign with Jaital on it. The ride over to the river was in a very comfortable minibus with a/c. We left our bags on the bus while we floated down the river, and the bus met us at the beach at the very end. They were very friendly about helping us to take family pictures with our camera, but we enjoyed their photography so much that we bought a disc with their pictures too. This is not a very long float. Maybe 45 minutes?? (I didn't have a watch on). The total roundtrip from Falmouth, doing the excursion and coming back was 3 hours. If we were to do this again, I would pair this up with the Dunns River Falls or something else to make a longer day of it. But this worked out nice because we got back and had plenty of time to shop around the port.

At the last minute, I booked our Zipline, Off Road Safari, Tubing w/BBQ Lunch within hours of leaving for our cruise. Although the website said that the confirmation will not be confirmed/sent for at least 24-72, I asked via phone that if they could confirm ASAP as I will be on the road soon and will not have accessed to a printer in order to print the voucher. Confirmation and voucher were sent within the hour. We arrived to Jamaica and our driver, Dennis, was there waiting for us. This is our 3rd trip to Jamaica so we already knew much about Jamaica. Dennis offered to answer any questions or to stop for me to take pictures as we drove. We started our tour with the zipline which is located in St. James mountain which is about 1:30- 1:45 hour drive from the pier. The main roads are good but once we got to the mountain, the roads are narrow and full of pot holes. We got to the zipline site and got our gears on. There was another group coming from the cruise and we had to wait for about 30 minutes for them. Once they arrived, we loaded onto the 6-wheel drive, military transport off road vehicle for the guided drive up the mountain. This was the highlight of the tour for me. It was bouncy, fast, bumpy and so much fun. Too bad it was too short because it lasted less than 10 minutes. I wish it was longer. The zipline was great !!! The guides, Jerry and Valerie (Jungle Jane), were courteous. They always counted to ensure all the cables & safety harnesses were on so I felt very safe. The BBQ lunch is simple which consisted of a couple of pieces of BBQ chicken, coleslaw and red rice and beans. If you're a picky eater like my daughter, there wasn't any other options. The chicken was tasty but the sides were just OK. Drinks were extra. Then, we rushed to tubing. Our driver got a little lost and passed the tubing place. It was all good though since we weren't that far off. We turned around and was met by our guide who was sitting on the side of the road waiting for us. We were quickly led down the stairs and onto the tubes. With no time to waste as we only had 1 hour for tubing. Our guide was a nice, quiet, young man named, Renald. It was nice, gentle, relaxing float as the water was very low. The water was so low that our guide had to tow us to speed up the process and to get us back in time. We took a little bit longer than we should have and our driver was waiting for us by the dock telling us that we needed to hurry. With only 2 hours before the ship leave, we were cutting it too close. We made it out of the mountain and back to the pier with 30 minutes left. Our driver admitted to us how scare he was that we wouldn't made it back on time. He was so sweet and took really good care of us. Bring your camera, water shoes for the tubing and have a great time. Our guides and driver were great !!!! Very professional service from booking to finish. I would book it with Jaital again.

Green Grotto Caves

The Green Grotto caves, also known as the Runaway Caves, are located just under 2 miles from the spot at which Christopher Columbus landed in 1494. The caves were a haven for runaway slaves in the 18th Century and between the two World Wars, were used by smugglers running arms to Cuba. The Grotto Caves were sought after as a hideout by the Spanish during the takeover of the island by the English in 1655. The Green Grotto caves feature a series of interconnected passageways and chambers, light holes, stalactites and stalagmites, as well as two lakes. Your guide will explain the nature of the tour and take you on a 45min walking tour through the caves. It is strongly recommended to wear proper footwear. The highlight of the Green Grotto Caves tour is the descent into the innermost cavern, where visitors will see a crystal-clear underground lake.
