Tour de France 2023: etap 9 – trasa i szczegółowa mapa

Dnia 9 lipca odbył się dziewiąty etap Tour de France 2023, który zapowiadał ekscytujący finisz na wulkanie Puy de Dôme, dominującym nad Clermont-Ferrand. To była pierwsza okazja w tym roku dla faworytów wyścigu, by zdobyć cenne sekundy i rywalizować na pełnej mocy.

Start nastąpił w Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, miasteczku, które było siedzibą zmarłego w 2019 roku Raymonda Poulidora. Francuski kolarz, zwycięzca Vuelta a España z 1964 roku i triumfator Mediolan-San Remo z 1961 roku, związał się z tym miejscem, gdzie mieszkał z żoną i zmarł. W miejscowości znajduje się kolegiata sięgająca XI wieku oraz XVI-wieczny wiatrak.

Podobnie jak wiele górskich etapów w tym roku, rozpoczęcie przebiegało łagodnie. Kolarze mijali m.in. XVI-wieczny zamek w Peyrat-le-Château, a następnie zmierzyli się z około 9-kilometrowym podjazdem o średnim nachyleniu ponad 3%, prowadzącym do lotnej premii nad sztucznym jeziorem Vassiviere. To jezioro o powierzchni 10 kilometrów kwadratowych zostało zapełnione pod koniec 1950 roku i stanowiło malowniczy element trasy.

Puy de Dôme, znany z legendarnych etapów w historii Tour de France, stanowił kulminacyjny punkt tego etapu. Choć trasa na samym początku była łagodna, to finałowy podjazd na Puy de Dôme to wyzwanie o długości 182,4 km. Dla kolarzy było to kolejne pole do rywalizacji o pozycję i przewagę. Niedziela zakończyła pierwszy tydzień rywalizacji, a dzień przerwy w poniedziałek dał kolarzom czas na regenerację przed kolejnymi wyzwaniami.

Etap 9 Tour de France 2023, który odbył się 9 lipca, zapewnił widowiskowy finisz na wulkanie Puy de Dôme, dominującym nad Clermont-Ferrand. Ten górski etap miał kluczowe znaczenie dla faworytów, dając im okazję do zdobycia cennych sekund i walki o pozycję lidera.

Rozpoczęcie miało miejsce w Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, miejscowości związanej z zmarłym w 2019 roku Raymondem Poulidorem, francuskim kolarzem znanym jako “wiecznie drugi”. Kolegiata sięgająca XI wieku oraz XVI-wieczny wiatrak stanowiły charakterystyczne punkty tego miejsca.

Trasa prowadziła przez departament Creuse, gdzie teren stawał się coraz bardziej pofałdowany. W okolicach półmetka pojawiły się podjazdy – Côte de Felletin (2,1 km; 5,2%; kat. 4) oraz Côte de Pontcharraud (1,8 km; 4,6%; kat. 4). Stawka przemknęła również obok XII-wiecznego zamku w Crocq.

Po pewnym wyrównaniu terenu, około 50 kilometrów przed metą, pojawił się kolejny podjazd – Côte de Pontaumur (3,3 km; 5,3%; kat. 3). Następnie trasa prowadziła nieco pod górę, aż do Col de la Nugère, nieskategoryzowanego podjazdu ponad 30 kilometrów przed metą. Następował zjazd przez miasto Volvic, znane z produkcji wody butelkowanej, aż do Clermont-Ferrand.

Finisz wyznaczono na Puy de Dôme, wulkanie o wysokości niemal 1500 m n.p.m. Ten historyczny szczyt był wykorzystywany do rytualnych ceremonii w starożytności, a jego znaczenie potwierdzają pozostałości rzymskiej świątyni z II wieku. Trasa wspinaczki na Puy de Dôme była wymagająca – pierwsze pięć kilometrów miało nachylenie w okolicach 6-7%, kolejne trzy kilometry były mniej strome (3-4%), natomiast ostatnie 5,3 km to wąska dróżka z nachyleniem przekraczającym 11%. Warto zaznaczyć, że z powodów środowiskowych i bezpieczeństwa zabrakło kibiców na trasie.

Po tym etapie nadszedł dzień przerwy, a kolarze mieli okazję do regeneracji przed kolejnymi wyzwaniami. Również walka o pozycję lidera oraz czołowe miejsca w klasyfikacji generalnej zapowiadała się niezwykle zacięcie. Faworytami byli Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) i Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma), a za nimi rywalizowali m.in. Jai Hindley (Bora-hansgrohe), Simon Yates (Jayco AlUla), Carlos Rodríguez (Ineos Grenadiers), David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) i Romain Bardet (Team DSM-Firmenich). Czekano także na wydolność Thomasa Pidcocka (Ineos Grenadiers) i Adama Yatesa (UAE Team Emirates), by dowiedzieć się, czy będą wspierać liderów czy rywalizować na własną rękę.

The final GC standings of the 2023 Tour de France

Jonas Vingegaard claims his second consecutive title

Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo Visma) crossed the line safely on the final stage of the 2023 Tour de France, celebrating his second overall victory in a row well behind the peloton with his teammates.

Because of rain, officials called the time for general classification with one lap to go on the Champs Élysées, and the final gaps in the standings remained the same after stage 21 .

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) was more active in the proceedings, going on the attack then leading out the sprint and then celebrating second overall at 7:29. He was also the race's best young rider.

Adam Yates gave the team two on the podium in third place overall at 10:56, claiming his first Grand Tour podium.

His identical twin brother Simon Yates (Jayco-AlUla) finished the race in fourth at 12:23.

Carlos Rodriguez (Ineos Grenadiers) finished the race despite his heavy crash on the penultimate stage to land in fifth at 13:17.

There were no changes for sixth to eighth place, in order,  Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) at 13:27, Jai Hindley (Bora-Hansgrohe) at 14:44 and second on stage 20, Felix Gall (AG2R Citroën) at 16:09.

Rounding out the top 10 are Groupama-FDJ’s  David Gaudu (ninth at 23:08) and Cofidis’ Guillaume Martin (10th at 26:30).

American Sepp Kuss (jumbo Visma) who was involved in the same crash as Rodriguez, finished in 12th overall.

Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) lost the stage to Jordi Meeus (Bora-Hansgrohe) but could be consoled with a dominant performance in the Tour's green jersey competition.

Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) took the last points on offer, while Victor Campenaerts (Lotto Dstny) was awarded the most combative rider prize.

Yellow Jersey/Maillot Jaune – The yellow jersey is worn by the overall race leader on the general classification who has completed the stages so far in the lowest accumulated time.

Green Jersey – The green jersey is the points classification. Riders accrue points at one of the two intermediate sprints during stages and also at stage finishes, and the man with the most points leads the ranking.

Polka Dot Jersey – The red and white polka dot jersey is the mountain classification. Points are handed out to the first riders over certain hills and climbs during the Tour de France, with the hardest mountains giving the most points. Once again, the man with the most points leads the ranking.

White jersey – The white jersey is the best young rider classification. It works the same way as the yellow jersey, but only riders aged 25 or under are eligible to win.
