Given that the Australian leg of the Eras tour concert is in summer, the cosy-autumn-sweater vibes may not be feasible (although, Melbourne weather is famously unpredictable) — instead, opt for anything that falls into the cottagecore and coastal grandma aesthetics. That means ruffled dresses and billowy shirts, gingham and plaid prints in monochromatic tones of black and white. A touch of florals — in subdued tones, of course — also works for Folklore .

Evermore era outfit ideas

Evermore colour palette: Autumnal burnt orange, warm green, black, and cream.

As the sister album to Folklore , Evermore (also released in 2020) has pretty similar vibes — but maybe skewing a little warmer. If Folklore is wintery blacks and whites, Evermore is a cosier autumnal palette of orange, green, brown and beige. Those cottagecore vibes remain — floaty dresses or lace-trimmed slips (like the dress Swift wears in the “Willow” music video, which is famously from Australian label Zimmermann ) are a perfect fit. Again, if the weather just so happens to be less summery than expected, you can opt for cosier autumnal outfits, inspired by the plaid jacket Swift wears on the album cover (be sure to wear a French braid to complete the look). Swift’s 10th original studio album, 2022’s Midnights , is all about inky black and blue shades — with a touch of “Bejewelled” sparkle. Fishnet could also work well here, but it might be bloody hot given the concerts in February. Oh well, anything for the fit.

To top the whole outfit off, don’t forget to call your ex and call him a snake mid-set. The night will end with a bang!

If you want to look like bubblegum has jizzed all over you, Lover should be right up your alley.

From deep blues and the trademark red lipstick to baby pinks, sequin bodysuits, high-waist shorts, brown cowboy boots and tulle skirts, fans are sharing their top tips for getting the look just right.

Swift's 'eras ' refers to her 10 studio albums: Debut, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights .

Each 'era' is characterised by Swift's fashion sense in the years she released the albums as well as the symbols, colours and themes used in her music videos.

Something for the shy Swifties

But not everyone wants to dress up in an extravagant, global singing sensation costume.

The Swifties on social media say make-up is another way to more subtly channel their favourite eras and songs.

Melbourne-based Australian TikTok creator Kammie Brooks has posted make-up tutorials for each Swift 'era'.

"I thought it would be such a fun way to get everyone excited and do some make-up looks. It'll get me excited for the show as well," Ms Brooks said.

"It shows how powerful Taylor's music is when she can bring such a diverse community of people together and turn it into the Met Gala of concerts."

In addition to attending the concert itself, a lot of the fun is in planning an outfit and make-up look for the night, she said.

"There's so many different ways you can go with all Taylor's eras," Ms Brooks said.

"I think it's really cool that it's become a whole event and not just a concert."

If you're stuck for ideas, here are some options to try for each of Taylor Swift's eras.

Deep blues and star patterns are features of the Midnights era.

Dark blue eyeliner and silver star face gems would help achieve the right make-up look.

Swifties who attended shows in the US wore royal blue sequin bodysuits similar to the one Swift wore on stage.

Otherwise, a popular outfit option draws inspiration from the Bejeweled music video. A black outfit adorned with gems of a variety of colours and shapes.

Evermore & Folklore

Even though it may be too hot during an Australian summer to wear a cardigan to the concert, when dressing as the two sister albums Folklore and Evermore , some fans are planning on wearing long flowing dresses, vintage jewellery and delicate flower crowns.

At the US leg of the tour some concert-goers wore silver mirror-like dresses to pay tribute to the song 'Mirrorball' on the Folklore album.

This era is ideal for Swifties who prefer to go without make-up as this was the era where Swift took a step back from the theatrics and glamour of other albums.

Lover is about embracing your feminine side. Heart shapes, baby pinks, light blues and soft yellow hues are a good fit.

If you're planning on dressing for this era, pink eyeshadow, light coloured eyeliner and pink glitter would work well together.

Tulle dresses, diamontes, sequins and heart-shaped cutouts are all the rage for Lover -themed outfits.

For Reputation , sequin bodysuits similar to Swift's during that album's stadium tour are suggested.

Others are incorporating snake elements and the colour black into their outfits.

For fans comfortable with more complicated make-up, some Swifties at the US Eras Tour even drew snake-themed eyeliner. Red or black lipstick complements this well.

During the 1989 tour Swift really embraced true, popstar-style outfits.

This era is known for white-frame sunglasses and light blues. Many popular outfits from that period included sequins and tassels with high-waisted shorts and crop sets.

In terms of make-up, Swift always rocked a red lip and black eye-liner with her short hair straightened.

Taylor Swift is soon to bring her cultural juggernaut Eras tour to Australia.

But if you’re still to nail your outfit, there is no need to worry.

Below, from Debut all the way up to Midnights, Best Picks has revealed the best outfits for every era — whether you’re a Fearless girlie or a Folklore queen.

Taylor Swift (Debut)

First up, it’s Taylor’s self-titled debut album, perhaps her most under-appreciated out there.

If you want to channel this era, it’s all about boho summery dresses, cowboy boots, blue jeans, hoop earrings and lots of bracelets.

If you’re thinking about the ideal colours, you’ll be looking to white, baby blue and green.

Top of my inspiration list for this era is the SNDYS Sofia Maxi Dress, currently $90.30 on THE ICONIC , and the Ravella Cowboy Boots ($149.95), also from THE ICONIC .

I am also loving Faithfull for debut-inspired dresses, particularly this mini dress in floral green, which is a steal at $72 .

On the luxe-y end of things, I am obsessing over these Golden Goose Haus of Dreamers Cowboy Boots ($1,690) — truly a piece that will never go out of style.

Alternatively, I can’t move past Meshki for the Fearless era, in particular its Meilani Low Back Diamante Mesh Mini Dress , $289.

Shoes-wise, you’re going to want gold cowboy boots for this era.

Alternatively, these $870 Golden Goose iconic Super-Stars are perfect for the era, thanks to their white leather upper featuring a gold glitter star, a silver metallic leather heel tab and an ice-gray suede tongue.

This album was all about purple — and with romantic hits like ‘Enchanted’, it’s easy to see why.

To capture the nostalgia of this era perfectly, shoppers should look to cute babydoll dresses and big ballgowns like the ones Taylor herself wore on the tour.

I love this Tussah Maxi Dress from THE ICONIC ($179.95) , which is so whimsical and romantic, or this AERE Linen option ($160) .

Lastly, don’t discount Myer, which has this mini dress from Seed Heritage ($79.95) .

I don’t know about you (see what I did there?), but Red is one of my all-time favourites.

How can we move past such bangers as ‘22’ and ‘Trouble’, as well as Taylor’s GOAT song, ‘All Too Well’?

With this in mind, when you go to the Eras tour, you’re certain to see lots of people dressed for the Red era.

Red has a very distinctive aesthetic, and not just because of the colour.

I’m thinking tea dresses, heart-shaped sunnies, T-shirts, red lipstick, brogues and high-waisted shorts.

My Red era picks include these heart-shaped sunglasses from Amazon ($9.16) , as well as this baker boy hat from Lack of Colour (currently $43).

Finally, you’ll want an almighty red lipstick if you’re going in the Red era — and for that, I will always turn to M.A.C.

Step forward M.A.C’s Ruby Woo Lipstick ($29) , which will give you the ultimate kiss-proof red lip worthy of Ms Tay herself.

1989 was Taylor’s major pop star moment.

She was everywhere when it was first released in 2014, and nearly 10 years after it came out, it still remains perhaps her best pop album.

If you want to channel this era, you have a plethora of choices.

Whether you want to dress like cheerleader Taylor from the Shake It Off video or just channel the general vibe with sequinned two-pieces and boots, there’s something for everyone.

I can’t move past this Glassons sequinned two-piece set ($39.98) or a classic pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers ($292) .

Finally, you can grab a cheerleader costume from Amazon like this one for $24.90 if you want to dress like the Shake It Off video.

After a big break from 1989, Taylor moved in a very different direction.

Gone were the sparkles and cowboy boots and in their place was a series of snake motifs and all black everything.

If you’re a Reputation stan, there are plenty of black-inspired outfits to get you in the mood for the Eras tour.

I love these snake earrings from Amazon ($42.06) , and these black sequin shorts ($18.35) also from the retailer.

This black sequin jacket ($149.99) from Pink Dusk at THE ICONIC is also a great buy that you’ll probably wear again.

Love pink, sparkle and pop? Lover is the era for you.

The colours for this era are pastel pink, baby blue and lilac.

My outfit inspiration for this era includes colourful fur jackets like this Marcs one from THE ICONIC ($129).

Sequins are still a mainstay.

In this respect, I particularly love this Meshki Anastasia Mini Dress in ice blue ($169), which is perfectly Lover-themed.

Finally, in the Lover era, you need hearts, ideally on your face.

Ah, Folklore.

This album will always hold a special place in my heart, and is perhaps my favourite era of them all, for the music.

When it comes to the outfits, you’re going to want to channel the vibe — so think rustic, folksy and woodsy.

Cardigans, flowing dresses and earthy colours like creams, browns and deep reds all come to mind.

Amazon has a knock-off of the Folklore cardigan selling for $38.67 .

Alternatively, this $299 Faithfull dress is very Folklore-ian.

Finally, you could dress as the mirrorball from the ‘Mirrorball’ song and opt for sequins.

This long-sleeved top from ASOS ($32) is great for that.

The sister album to Folklore, Evermore is much like its woodsy counterpart.

The main differences are more ‘witchy’ vibes, courtesy of ‘Willow’.

For this, you could opt to dress in red or green velvet, vintage dresses and flower crowns.

There are sure to be thousands dressing for Midnights — Taylor’s most recent album.

And it’s an era I just adore.

I can’t move past this amazing ‘Lavender Haze’ or ‘ Karma-inspired’ purple dress from Amazon ($70).

And I’m also loving this Glassons sequin purple top ($79.99) .

Finally, you need faux fur for Midnights. This Miss Selfridge pink option from ASOS is a bargain at $58 .

I Went to Opening Weekend of the Eras Tour — Here's What to Wear to Taylor Swift's Concert

On March 18, I buzzed with excitement in a crowd of nearly 70,000 fans eagerly counting down the seconds (literally — a giant clock ticked on screen) until Taylor Swift walked onstage for her second show of the wildly-anticipated Eras Tour . Three hours and 13 minutes later, I was basking in the blissful aftermath of an epic 44-song setlist from the music icon.

But before that, I thought long and hard about what to wear to a Taylor Swift concert I'd been daydreaming about for years. With four new albums and two re-recordings released since her last tour, the options were endless. Should I dress for her latest era, the glimmering, moody Midnights , wander back into the whimsical woods in honor of Folklore and Evermore , embrace the bubblegum pink wonderland of Lover , or pay tribute to Red (Taylor's Version) in loafers and, well, red?

The countless Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas might seem overwhelming, but after attending the first stop on the Eras Tour, I can tell you this: You'll see a little bit of everything (and a lot of sparkles.) Some Swifties threw it back to Fearless in cowboy boots , others wore heart-covered tulle dresses, and one dedicated fan even covered herself head-to-toe in ivy in honor of the Evermore track.

Below, channel whichever era you feel most passionate about with these 141 Taylor Swift concert outfit ideas. Pick your poison, era-style. And don't forget to nab a stadium-approved clear bag for as little as $17.

Swift's latest album, Midnights, evokes a '70s haze, if you will, with purple eyeshadow, tousled hair, and shag coats. For the final portion of her Eras Tour setlist, the "Anti-Hero" singer wore two outfits: a sparkly T-shirt dress topped with a lavender fur jacket that was dripping in crystals and a bejeweled dark purple fringe leotard, both worn with knee-high Christian Louboutin rhinestone boots.

While you might not go that extra (or designer), the color palette is an easy place to start. I opted for these lavender metallic wide-leg trousers and this sparkly ruched cowl neck tank top , both under $25 at Cider. Folklore and Evermore , released just four months apart in 2020, took us deep into the trees where moss grew on pianos and braided buns were a must. For slow burns like "Cardigan" and "Invisible String," the 12-time Grammy winner laid on the roof of a cabin and twirled around in a billowy cream maxi .

Before there was the starry-eyed Taylor seeing life through rose-colored glasses, we had the all-black-clad, hooded, narrow-eyed snake, aka Reputation -era Taylor . The Eras Tour in Sydney is only a few days away but if you haven’t got your outfit sorted yet, don’t stress.

Many fans go all out with the glitter and homemade outfits , but if this isn’t your vibe you can still get dressed up in your own way.

If you’re a Red fan then a simple red dress or tee is perfect. Or if Reputation is more your thing, then you can’t go wrong with an all-black outfit .

But if you’re still stressed or not sure, in my opinion as a diehard Swiftie, the only thing you actually need at the concert are friendship bracelets .

In Taylor’s song You’re On Your Own Kid she sings about making friendship bracelets and as a result, fans have started making and swapping friendship bracelets with each other.

Debut is full on country so think floral or white dresses and country boots . A cowboy hat also won’t go amiss (just remember to take it off for the actual concert so that you don’t block the view of those behind you). If you have naturally curly hair, that’s also a plus.

FEARLESS ERA

Think gold, sparkly dresses and cowboy boots for Fearless . But if you can’t get that in time, then my number one tip would be to buy a white tee and DIY a Junior Jewels top like Taylor wore in the Y ou Belong With Me music video. It’s super easy to do, just buy some coloured sharpies and away you go.

SPEAK NOW ERA

Think purple, think Speak Now . Whether you throw on a purple tee or singlet or purple dress , whatever you’ve got in a lavender hue is bound to work if Speak Now is your thing. Bonus points if you draw a 13 on your hand too.

Perhaps the easiest outfit to wear if you’ve secured last minute tickets. If you’ve got anything red, you will be on theme. Think cute red tops to red dresses and even red socks , whatever you have will do. Plus, a Kansas City Chiefs jersey is another fun take on the Red era.

For 1989 last minute fits, see if you can find any sort of matching sparkly sets or sequined dresses . Also, blue is the colour associated with 1989 so anything you have that is blue will also work well.

REPUTATION ERA

This was Taylor’s ‘bad girl’ era and another easy option for a last minute outfit. Anything black is fair game here and bonus points if you pair it with anything snake print .

Lover is all about pink, hearts and glitter so if you want to go all out this is the era to do so. But the girls in the first picture are a great example of an easy last minute outfit. Throw on a pink tee with a white skirt and you’re ready to. Pink love heart glasses also add a nice touch.

FOLKLORE ERA

folklore is a little bit harder than other eras because it’s more subtle and less overtly fun (unless mirrorball is your inspiration). Think long, flowy dresses with a whimsical sort of vibe. Also a cardigan over the top is a dead giveaway you’re a folklore girlie.

EVERMORE ERA

Similar to folklore but with a darker feel to it, evermore is a mix of fantasy (like the outfit worn in the TikTok above) as well as academia thanks to the fit worn by Taylor on the cover. A plaid skirt or even a brown dress are both easy options if you’re stuck for ideas.

MIDNIGHTS ERA

Think midnights, think dark blues and blacks as well as sparkles everywhere. Anything celestial is also going to be a good fit plus that shaggyy jacket the girl on the right is holding is great dupe of the one Taylor wears when performing Karma.

Every single outfit Taylor Swift is wearing during her Eras Tour.

On February 15, just before 1am, Australia experienced a cultural reset. It was one so big, it was up there with Karl Stefanovic and Michael Clark's fiery argument, and Steven Bradbury winning a gold at the Olympics. 

I'm talking about the moment  Taylor Swift landed in Melbourne to kick start her Australian leg of the Eras Tour . Since she touched down, murals have been painted with her face on them, and even the iconic Flinders Street station was lit up to welcome the hordes of Swifties that travelled to the city to watch her play.

Whether you like it or not, Swift is everywhere . 

After performing three back-to-back shows at the MCG to a total of 288,000 people (96,000 each night), her Melbourne concerts were the biggest of her entire career. And now, she's gearing up to play four shows in Sydney, starting from this Friday.

And while everyone is talking about the music and visuals of the  three-hour show , I want to discuss the on-stage fashion —because in my opinion, it's severely underrated.

Swift's fans have become accustomed to the outfits she wears, switching as each Era comes around. There are the multiple Lover leotards, the many Fearless dresses, and the one Reputation bodysuit (I'm still questioning why there's only one).

And that's just the tip of the iceberg, because Swift has worn more than 40 different costumes since the Eras Tour began back in March 2023, all designed by luxury names like Zuhair Murad, Versace and Roberto Cavalli.

As I sit here and wait in anticipation to see which variations of her many outfits she's going to wear in Sydney, I've rounded up every single look she wore in Melbourne, so we can all admire the fashion together.

Taylor has multiple Lover era bodysuits, but in Melbourne, she wore her usual pick, along with a newer hot pink Versace version, which made its first appearance in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The singer paired them with bespoke Christian Louboutin boots. 

And of course, we can't forget the iconic sparkly 'The Man' blazer-and-boots combos (of which she has a few, because 'buy one in every colour' is the golden rule of finding a look you like).

For her Fearless set, Swift has two different gold fringe dresses with bedazzled cowboy boots, designed by Roberto Cavalli.

Swift wore two dresses for her Evermore era during her Melbourne shows, designed by Marco De Vincenzo for Etro. The burnt orange and dark brown shades played into the woodsy nature of the Evermore album perfectly.

Reputation.

Much to fans' disappointment, Swift only has one outfit for Reputation : a black catsuit designed by Roberto Cavalli. 

The costume features an intricate snake slithering down the one long leg of the bodysuit, resembling what she wore on her Reputation Stadium Tour .

This era's all about extravagance, and in Melbourne she wore two custom Nicole + Felicia dresses for this part of the show. The purple option featured three tiers, paying tribute to her third album. The blue dress was initially introduced when she announced 1989 (Taylor's Version ) and has continued to be worn since.

Swift had three outfit changes for Red : A T-shirt-and-hotpants combo (complete with that black bowler hat), a burgundy bodysuit, and a sequined duster coat — all created by designer Ashish.

Channelling her inner boho queen, Swift wore two flowy dresses, both by Alberta Ferretti, for this part of the show — one in forest green and the other in lilac. Dreamy.

One again showing her devotion to Roberto Cavalli, Swift wore two different versions of matching sparkly two-piece skirt-and-crop-top combos for 1989 , paired with sequined (of course) Christian Louboutin ankle boots.

For Midnights , Swift started by wearing an Oscar de la Renta crystal T-shirt and faux fur coat, and ended the set wearing her Zuhair Murad navy blue body suit.

Acoustic set.

Finally, for the acoustic set, Swift wore three variations of the same Jessica Jones dress, featuring cap sleeves and pleats.

Just like Swift’s, the lingerie features a navy blue fabric and glittery stars. Pair it with a sparkly skirt, leather bottoms or black trousers and you're good to go.

While she sings hits from her Lover album, Swift always wears a sequin and crystal embellished Versace bodysuit and bedazzled Louboutin boots.
