This is genuine OEM Ford cruise control kit for the 1999-2001 Ford Superduty trucks. It is applicable to the F-250 F-350 F-450 F-550 with the diesel engine ONLY. Ordered kit in June/16. One of the easiest installs of any aftermarket product I have dealt with. Took a max of 2 hrs, start to finish. works great, just like factory.. Instructions are thin and could be better, but hey - it worked. Very pleased with this product.

1999 Ford F350 Cruise Control Upgrade

I purchased this new Ford steering wheel replacement assembly with cruise control in Oct of 20015. My Ford was purchased used earlier this year and was a basic work truck with no power features but definitely wanted cruise control. The Cruise Control Store had the perfect answer for me. The time to install was about 2 hours and it was all plug and play, no splicing of wires or adjustments needed. The tech support folks guided me through a few questions I had and were very tech proficient on their product. They were a pleasure to talk to, no long waits on the phone or crazy phone menu to navigate. I never spent more than 30 seconds on hold if that. The performance of the product works seamlessly, very smooth and fully functional. Thanks again to Michael Fox and the staff at the Cruise Control Store for a great product and tech support.

Cruise Control Not Working

Get me started. Where is the fuse for this located so I can check it first? If that is not it what would I need to check next?  

Mine was the clutch pedal position sensor. Little sensor at top part of clutch was bad making it think the clutch was pressed in which disables the cruise. Picked one up from oreillys and has been working fine.

It will also not work if the sensor on the master cylinder is not working.  

I brought my truck into the dealership for whatever work and they did a TSB/recall on the cruise control. It may be worth a visit.  

Can also be a bad clock spring. Does the horn work? How about the air bag light - is is on. Both signs of a bad clock spring. Switches that affect cruise: Brake Pedal Position Switch Brake Pressure Applied Switch (on the master cyl) Clutch Pedal Position Switch Transmission Range Switch on the auto tranny Parking Brake Switch

There is an airbag sensor next to the radio on the back of the dashboard. It is the passenger side airbag controller. That could be bad . . . just pull the dashboard off and disconnect the sensor. For whatever reason, disconnecting the sensor doesn't throw a code, but having a bad one does. I never even knew it was back there, when I found it, I reconnected it, then my airbag light was lit. I disconnected it and the light went back out.

Air Bag light is on, Cruise Control doesn't work, Horn doesn't work. Pretty much narrows it down. Will see about getting a Clock Spring in the next couple weeks. Thanks Guys:thumbsup:  

Did you run a KOER Switch Test? That would be my next step. The switch test will also check the switches that kill cruise (brake pedal, brake pressure, park brake, transmission range) When you say you ohmed the cruise switches, how did you determine they were OK or bad? There are resistors inside the switch assembly and unless you press the switches, they'll all read open. They're all momentary switches. The switches send various voltage signals to the PCM. The clock spring should show continuity thru all circuits (between the switch connector and the one below the dash.)  

Replaced switches anyway and clock springs ok. Replaced master cylinder switch also. Did not run Koer test, not sure if Orilleys can. Gonna investigate brake switch next

Cruise control installation.

Hey ! my truck does not have cruise control, how hard would it be to install it, does all it takes is a new steering wheel or could i just install a switch in the dash ?

It is possible to install switches in the dash if you put the correct resistors on the switches. I just installed cruise on toggle switches in my 97 F350. I haven't had a chance to get pics of the project yet. I do have extra resistors. If I get the switches I could solder up another harness.

I just contact them and i have been told they dont make kits for 99 diesel F-250's, wonder what is the difference from this 02-04 kit :dunno: Ford Superduty OEM cruise kit '02-'04 Diesel  

That's a bummer. The only differance I can think of is the newer pickups have an cruise indicator light in the gauge cluster. I'd go to a salvage yard and get a 99 to 01 steering wheel with the buttons in it.:dunno:

I think for around $200 you can get a nice black leather wrapped steering wheel with cruise buttons from Ford. This was one of the very first upgrades I do on my trucks, leather wrapped steering wheel. It's nice on the hands.  

I will probably grab one at the scrapyard for next to nothing just to plug it in and see if it works. i always wanted to fit a grant wheel but if the cruise works by just pluggin a OEM steering well eff the grant hehe !  

I installed a unit on an old Chevy I had years ago. I think I got it from Sears and it was made by Audiovox. It was all electric and did not require vacuum to operate. Switch was mounted on the dash. Sensor picked measured speed with a magnet on the drive shaft. Easy to install. Don't know if they still make them.  

the clockspring is the sliding contacts behind the steering wheel.  

actually the clockspring is a series of wires like a ribbon cable wrapped around themselves a few times which allow the wires to expand and contract when you turn the wheel, early pre-airbag models used the sliding contact

have 97 ford diesel service van; desperately need cruise control as my knee won't take the fuel pedal; anyone tell me what i parts i need to install cruise ???? or maybe tell me "where to go" to find help installing one?

I know for a fact if you have a 2001 E350 superduty van with 7.3l Powerstroke and NO CRUISE CONTROL. YOU CAN HAVE IT JUST BY:: #1.. Buy 99-2003 E or F 250 350 450 Cruise control steering wheel. $2.. Buy Cruise Control clock spring for 99-03. #3.. DISCONNECT ALL POWER ALL BATTERIES AND LET SIT FOR 30 MIN. #4..Remove clock spring and ignition and the steering wheel tilt cover top and bottom. #5.. GENTLY AND CAREFULLY REMOVE AIRBAG. REMOVE AND REPLACE STEERING WHEEL AND CLOCKSPRING, Covers AND IGNITION. 6.. The wires that go to your Master Cylinder will have 2 that go to a connection plug that has a dummy plug in it. Probably fastened to wheel well fire wall.. Install a jumper BETWEEN THESE 2 WIRES. AND then hook your power/batts back up and your ready.. YOU WONT HAVE A CRUISE ON LIGHT or FAST IDLE OPTION but you will have CC from 35mph+ that works properly and turns off if you tap brake or Off button.. THIS APPLIES TO 2001 FORD E350 SUPERDUTY WITH 7.3L POWERSTROKE.. Probably is the same for 99-2003.. It takes longer to get your tools ready than it does to add FACTORY CRUISE to the van..

According to Tasca the 2001 CC steering wheel is the same as the 2002 CC steering wheel.
