After breakfast on board, your next delight is to journey to the coast at Kovalam, a place made famous during the 1960s due to its popularity with hippies! There are three distinct beaches formed by jutting rocky outcrops and a prominent Lighthouse after which one of the beaches is named.  Watch the sun set over the ocean and enjoy a long walk across the white sands before retiring to your resort hotel with a glorious ocean view from your window.

Kovalam to Kanyakumari

From Kovalam, your tour takes you on to Kanyakumari, famous for the confluence of three oceans-the Bay of Bengal, the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.  The point at which the oceans merge is called the Triveni Sangam and is considered by the Indians to be a sacred place where washing in the waters will cleanse the bathers of sin.  Triveni Sangam is a powerful and significant location and is said to bear witness to the finest sunrises and sunsets in the whole of India.  Bathed in light, the vast Thiruvalluvar statue, a memorial to the famous Tamil philosopher and poet, is a remarkable sight and a ferry service can take you to the rock to view it. 

Kovalam to Trivandrum

Trivandrum is also known by its previous name of Thiruvananthapuram and is the designated capital of Kerala state.  Visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the holiest place in the city but be aware that respect must be shown by wearing either Dhoti for the men or Sarees or Churidar for ladies.  Another popular visitor attraction is the Kuthiramalika Palace Museum which literally means, ‘Palace of Horses’ named after the frieze of 122 wooden horses on the outside of the building.  Veli Tourist Village is a great destination for families with young children with a waterfront park bristling with aqua entertainment for all ages.

Here's a Feedback on our Experience with Veena World: We went for an 8 days trip to wonders of Kerala(*****) with a group of 28 and 2 tour managers Mr.Rahul Patil and Sanchit Ghare. The entire trip was pleasent & delightful. Hotel stay, food, snacks, tea and coffee - everything was very nice. Our tour Managers - Rahul and Sanchit were always smiling and caring. , they personally take care of each person, they tackled every situation wisely,we r saying that ,because when an unexpected demonstration in that local area,called for "Band for one day,"both of them showed us tourist places that remained on that day ,the next day by adjusting time .In the tour both of them took many pictures of every one on their demand. Transport arrangment was very good, comfortable.The whole group enjoyed the tour. We had never traveled with Veena World, so we have such a positive, good first experience making us to look forward for taking more trips with them. Itinerary (Day Wise)

Thiruvananthapuram (2 nights).

Tour Guests will arrive at Thiruvananthapuram in the evening as per their Scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to hotel.

Thiruvananthapuram – Kanyakumari – Thiruvananthapuram

Today we proceed to Kanyakumari- a coastal town on India's southern tip. Upon arrival we enjoy a ferry ride to Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial - built in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, followed by a visit to the meditation hall and the smarak, Kanyakumari Mandir - is one of the 52 Shakti Peethams, Tri Samudra Milan (Triveni Sangam), Gandhi Mandapam - a memorial building with sea views on site where Gandhi's ashes were held after his death. Further we proceed back to Thiruvananthapuram At the Kanyakumari Mandir we arrange VIP Darshan for you. It might not be possible during government movements, special delegate visits, or religious ceremonies. Still, in such situations too, we will try our best to make it available to you. Important: VIP Darshan does not mean direct Darshan and you will still have to wait in the queue, which however may be comparatively shorter than the general queue.

Thiruvananthapuram – Jatayu Earth Centre – Alleppey (1 Night)

Today we visit Padmanabh Swami Temple - dedicated to Lord Vishnu and the Richest Place of Worship in the World. We then visit Jatayu Earth Centre – which stands at an altitude of 350m (1200ft) above the sea level. Jatayu Nature Park holds the distinction of having the world’s largest bird sculpture, which is of Jatayu. Here we take a cable car ride to reach at the main attraction, upon arrival we visit Jatayu Sculpture, Audio -Visual museum, Rama Temple & Mini Theatre. Further we proceed to Alleppey – known as ‘the Venice of the East’. Please Note: For you visit to the Padmanabh Swami Temple, it is compulsory for all Women to wear a Saree, men to wear a plain lungi without the Angavastra and the girls below 12 years of age may wear a gown. (Salwar suits, black colour saree, sleeveless blouses & all other forms of modern dressing is not allowed.) At the Padmanabh Swami Temple we arrange VIP Darshan for you. It might not be possible during government movements, special delegate visits, or religious ceremonies. Still, in such situations too, we will try our best to make it available to you. Today we enjoy the famous Kerala Backwaters ride and admire the scenic sites of lush paddy fields and coconut trees as we sail. We then proceed to Periyar. Upon arrival we have free time for shopping at Kumily Spice Village. In the evening we enjoy Kathakali show.

Periyar – Munnar (2 Nights)

Today we visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - one of the popular national parks in India and famous as an elephant and tiger reserve. It is home to around 35 species of mammals like tiger, Indian elephant, gaur, sambar, wild pig, Indian giant squirrel, jungle cat, etc. We explore this wildlife sanctuary by sailing in the Periyar Lake. Later we proceed to Munnar – Munnar is well known for its lush green hills and tea plantations. Please Note: Periyar Boat Ride is subject to Availability. In case of non-availability, alternative sightseeing will be provided.

Today we enjoy speed boat ride at Mattupetty Dam near Sun moon Valley, followed by a visit to Echo Point and Eravikulam (Rajamalai) National Park (subject to security permission).

Munnar – Cochin (1 Night)

Today we proceed to Cochin – Popularly known as the Queen of Arabian Sea. Upon arrival we visit Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church at Fort Kochi - one of the oldest European churches in India which has great historical significance. Later we proceed to Muttancherry, here we visit the Jewish Synagogue - oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, Dutch Palace - one of the finest examples of the Kerala style of architecture.

Cochin – Departure

Cochin – Munnar

After breakfast drive to Munnar (4½ hours), the beautiful hill station of Kerala. Transfer to hotel on arrival. Spend the remaining day at leisure and enjoy picturesque landscapes. Munnar - Thekkady/Periyar

Gulf Grand Tours visa: Travel agencies to launch unique tourist packages

Dubai: Travel agencies in the UAE and other countries are busy preparing special packages ahead of the much-awaited rollout of the ‘Gulf Grand Tours’ visa, which introduces a unified tourist visa system for the GCC (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) countries. The executives in the travel and tourism sector say that the packages aim to attract tourists from all over the globe who wish to visit the Gulf region. These packages would be designed based on the European Schengen visa model.

Travellers will have to spend around 4000 – 5000 dirhams or more, to enjoy leisure trips, including two-night stays at three countries in the region. At a ministerial summit held as part of the Arabian Tarvel Market last week, it was announced that the unified visa system will be in place by the end of this year. The authorities hope that the multi-entry Grand Tours Visa will let tourists travel to the six countries without any hassle. 

First phase focuses on Saudi Arabia Travel agencies say that they have been designing packages after doing proper research to understand the needs and preferences of the travellers. Their study found that children aged between 8 and 14 play pivotal roles in choosing the destination and the family’s stay in hotels. Based on this information, the travel agencies aim to develop unique tour packages to attract more than a million tourists to this region. These packages include hotel accommodation, vehicle rent and entertainment activities for families. In the first phase, such packages would concentrate on trips to Saudi Arabia.
