In 2024, Villanova launched a new 10-year Campus Master Plan. With input from students, faculty, staff and community partners, the plan is a collaborative vision and roadmap to help us continually align our physical campus to serve the goals outlined in our Strategic Plan, Rooted. Restless.

The overarching vision of the Campus Master Plan is to build on our existing strengths and create an environment that supports academic rigor and student success in all its forms. To achieve this vision, we are focusing our efforts on a few key goals and objectives. These include:

• Enhancing Campus Entry, Arrival and Flow
• Strengthening the Student-Centric Core of Campus
• Bolstering the Quality and Quantity of Academic Spaces
• Enriching Residential Communities and Student Spaces
• Supporting and Enhancing Athletic Facilities
• Defining Opportunities for Future Growth

The Campus Master Plan is just what it says it is: a plan; it is not a definitive and static document. In implementing the Campus Master Plan, we will take a thoughtful, measured approach and evolve it as needed to best serve the University. As with all campus construction projects, approvals, funding and sufficient parking all play a part—and the addition of the Cabrini campus brings new possibilities. But the plan is an exciting vision for Villanova’s campus and how we can meet the needs of our campus community—now and in the future—and serve generations of Villanovans to come.

We love to show off our beautiful campus and smiling students! Please wear shoes to allow for a full loop around our historic quad. An on-campus tour takes about 30-45 minutes. ‍

Obituaries submitted on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays are accepted from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. by email only [email protected]

(No proofs will be furnished. Pricing will not be available until the next business day after 10:00am by calling Dianne at 610-915-2226)

Obituaries received after Deadline will not be published in the following edition of the paper.

Sending Procedure:

Email is the preferable method for receiving Obituaries (and the only method on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays), they can be sent to [email protected] (Feel free to call and confirm that we’ve received the email)

Formatting:

Obituaries will continue to visually look the same as they currently do, but you will no longer be restricted in what you can say (ex. As much Family can be listed as you’d like; Wording like “Went to rest with the Lord” is now permissible)

There is a cost for each obituary. Pricing and payments are only available Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. All weekend and holiday submissions will be provided a cost the next business day.

Exceptions:

All New accounts, Out of State Funeral Homes and Private Parties will require prepayment upon approval of the obituary. Weekend and Holiday staff are not authorized to set up a new account or process payments

Deadline for the above is before 4:00 PM Mon – Fri. only (Holiday schedules may vary).

Prepayment required submissions will be handled on the very first business day following the weekend and/or holiday schedule. A complete name, address and best contact phone number are required upon submittal of your obituary request to set up your account. A proof will then be emailed for review but placed on hold until payment is received.

A criminal complaint against John Lambiris, 20, of New York City was filed May 7 by Villanova University police charging him with invasion of privacy — to view or photograph a person without consent.

According to the complaint filed by Sgt. James Simpson, he and another officer were called to Sullivan Hall at 10:20 a.m. for a complaint of invasion of privacy.

The victim told police they were showering in a second floor communal shower stall when he observed a cellphone protruding from beneath the closed shower curtain.

He opened the curtain and discovered Lambiris fully clothed and concealed behind another shower curtain.

The victim confronted Lambiris and gained control of the cellphone and discovered a video recording depicting Lambiris filming within the shower area including the victim unclothed.

The victim used his own phone to make a copy of the video. Which was time stamped 9:54 a.m. May 6.

That video shows Lambiris in the bathroom wearing flip-flops with a towel draped around his waist over pajama pants. He hangs the towel on a hook and moves several feet from the stall. It then shows the camera lowering under a curtain capturing the fellow student completely unclothed before it ends abruptly.

Charges were filed in District Judge Sloan Walker’s court, however a date for a preliminary hearing has not been set.

University officials said Thursday that the security of students and the entire community is of their greatest community. The student who is alleged to have made the recordings is no longer on campus.

When they became aware of the incident they began an investigation. With the active investigation, they declined to comment further.

WGS 84 coordinate reference system is the latest revision of the World Geodetic System, which is used in mapping and navigation, including GPS satellite navigation system (the Global Positioning System).

Geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) define a position on the Earth’s surface. Coordinates are angular units. The canonical form of latitude and longitude representation uses degrees (°), minutes (′), and seconds (″). GPS systems widely use coordinates in degrees and decimal minutes, or in decimal degrees.

UTM or Universal Transverse Mercator coordinate system divides the Earth’s surface into 60 longitudinal zones. The coordinates of a location within each zone are defined as a planar coordinate pair related to the intersection of the equator and the zone’s central meridian, and measured in meters.

Elevation above sea level is a measure of a geographic location’s height. We are using the global digital elevation model GTOPO30 .
